Putting the book back into his bag Dante smiled slightly. "Yes I am through with this as well, lets get to that gym battle. If you want I could come with you for your next battle if you want. It would only be fair." He said as they made their way through the town. After a moment of walking they found the gym but it was blocked by a large ridge and there was a tree in the way. "Hmmm, well it looks like this tree isn't going to be here much longer." He said as he pulled out Apollo's pokeball. The firey horse appeared his black and white flames seeming to dance. "Apollo could you burn down this tree for me?" He didn't have Cut to cut it down and he figured the fire would work just as fine. Besides he had water pokemon to take care of things if it got out of hand.

Apollo blinked his big doe eyes befor turning to look at the small tree. Figuring it was do able the fire pokemon let out a small bit of flame from its mouth and set the tree on fire. It quickly burned down not starting any other fires in the process. "Thank you Apollo." He said with a small smile as he reached up and pet the pony pokemon befor putting him back and stepping past the ashes.

Ky was thankful that Crenu and he hadn't traveled too far from Violet City. It wasn't too long before he saw the red roof on the horizon. When he reached the steps in front of the Pokemon Center, he stumbled off the bike panting. "I need to bike more often," Ky uttered, trying to control himself as his breathing quickened. Taking his time, he folded the bike again, placing it in his backpack. He then hurried up the steps and through the glass door to see Nurse Joy with a curious look on her face.

"You're back soon; I thought you were going with Crenu," Nurse Joy commented.

Ky smiled. "I just got myself a new Pokemon," he said, showing her both Pokeballs before placing them on the front tray. "I'm afraid that Little Guy got poisoned again though," Ky added, his face more concerned.

Joy took the tray and placed it in front of the analyzer. She nodded when she saw the data. "Well, catching a Weedle is a risky thing to do. Next time, you should make sure you have some Antidotes handy. Pokemon Centers aren't always within reach, even with a bike. Had you've been halfway down Route 31, Little Guy might've been in the same condition he was after that battle," Joy lectured.

Ky nodded when he heard this, noticing that Crenu had said the same thing before he left. "I'll go to the Pokemart then," Ky said.

"Good idea," Joy said, smiling. "By the time you're back, your Pokemon should be fighting fit." And with that, Ky walked out of the Center, his hands in his pockets, feeling very empty without the Pokeballs at his belt.

Having his face submerged in the hot springs, Mike had no idea who the mystery guest in the tub was until the sweet voice of his friend caught his attention. He coughed, many bubbles rising to the surface. The boy jerked his head up only to be met by what seemed to him the figure of a goddess. The steam of the hot springs wrapped around her body almost lovingly. Stupid lucky air molecules. He grumbled to himself. "Hello again." He said happily, welcoming the company.

Under the shadow of the Pokemon Center, Portabello felt the tug of tree roots as they wrapped around his legs. He winced slightly as the thorns dug into his thighs, but kept his composure. Power is to many a fleeting dream. I alone must suffer this.

As Ky was walking out of the Pokemon Center, he realized that he wasn't very sure about where the Pokemart was. He tried to recall whether his class ever went to see it like they did for the Pokemon Center. Nothing coming to memory, Ky just sighed. "I guess my best bet is to look downtown," Ky said to himself.

"Downtown for what, Ky?" came a familiar voice from behind. Ky turned around to see Ricky, exiting the Pokemon Center, a Pokeball at his belt. Ricky was Ky's friend, and had graduated with Ky, though Ky didn't know what Pokemon he had aquired. "I saw you drop off your Pokemon; when did you get your second one?"

"I caught a Weedle off the side of Route 31. It poisoned my Natu, so I had to hurry back. I need to go to the Pokemart to get some Antidotes," Ky explained.

"Oh, okay. That's cool. It's downtown, near the coffee shop. You can't miss it really. It has a huge Pokeball painted on the window," Ricky said.

"Cool, thanks Ricky," Ky said.

"No problem," Ricky said. "When your Pokemon get better, I'd definitely like to challenge you. Everyone else has been going at each other for the past couple of days, making tournaments and such. You want to come?"

Hearing the chance to battle with his friends, Ky was ready to say 'yes' without thinking, but he knew he had to decline. "Sorry Ricky, I already planned to go to Azalea Town to get Bugsy's badge. If I don't head off now..." Ky stopped, not knowing how to explain.

"That's okay Ky," Ricky said, surprising Ky. "You want to get back with your sister; I understand." Ricky gave him a thumbs up. "Just because you can't fight now doesn't mean we won't see each other later. Johto isn't that big." Ricky winked and waved goodbye before heading towards his house, whistling and tossing his Pokeball up and down. Ky would miss his friend, just as he would miss his family. Finally, Ky headed off downtown.

"Thanks," Rin giggled, "Akira's is tough and she acts tough. Deep down she's a big softie though." A smile found it's way onto Rin's features as Miharu told her about the recent capture. "She's so cute!" she exclaimed looking fondly at the Pidgey. "Aska must be pretty smart to have followed us out of that forest and find you." Rin gave a slight nod as she spoke.

Ding!

Rin walked up to the counter and picked up Akira's Pokeball, clipping it to her belt before turning back to Miharu. She wanted to say "What now?" but refrained from doing so.

"It sure has," Mitsu said with a slight nod. "What have you been up too? It's kind of odd that you seemed to have randomly found us while flying on your Salamance." She couldn't help but be curious. Mitsu's eyes followed M.A.'s gave towards the blackened clouds and then brightening sky. "She must be in a battle," Mitsu thought aloud biting down on her lip. She didn't want Kasiya to have to go through any trouble getting Zyphyr to the Pokemon Center, it should have been herself that was doing it in the first place.

Ivy seemed a bit shocked as the Houndour had not accepted his vine. He put his head down and skulked away to Sapphire's side before resting as well. Ebony flew from M.A.'s shoulder and jabbed Ivy in the side as if saying "You're it!" Ivy, who was normally always up for a game of tag with the Ghost Pokemon, waved him off. Even though the potions had done wonders he was still tired from the previous night's battle.

Feeling the need for some fresh air and the chance to stretch, Felsic, the adventurous Quilava released himself from his Pokeball, only to be greeted with Mike's dirty clothes and clean spares. The Pokemon emerged from the sea of wool and polyester with Mike's clean pair of boxers wrapped around his head. They were dark slate color with little Lavaridge badge emblems on them. "Huh, looks like I've got a new hat." He chuckled to himself as he scurried out of the Pokemon Center, a confused Nurse Joy watching as a pair of undies with legs just ran out the door. The moon had crept out from the horizon as Felsic took in a deep breath through his nose, exhaling a little smoke. He craned his next, hearing a much desired 'pop'. "That's the good stuff." He purred, looking to his left. A utterly stupefied look wore across his face as he was met with Portabello's meditative stance. The Breloom was covered in plant roots, thorns and flowers, and his grassy fur had grown two an almost humorous length. Felsic pointed and laughed at the weird grass Pokemon, flopping over to his back.

This means alot coming from the Pokemon wearing his masters under garments on his head like some sort of frilly crown. Portabello's smirk was visible under all the foliage.

Felsic raised an eyebrow, almost giddy at the remark. "Hey, when I start taking guff from a walking mushroom who covers himself in posies, you might as well start calling me a water Pokemon." He snorted, his tough guy attitude feeding his ego.

The Breloom bugged out his eyes, wearing a dopey stare. 'karp 'karp! He flapped his paws, some flower petals falling from their spots.

Felsic grit his teeth, glaring daggers as smoke shot from his pores.

Portabello however was quite enjoying himself. Magikarp! He added in one last jab, his mouth agape and his tongue hanging out.

A large fireball exploded from the Quilava as the roots and plants from Portabello's meditation were burned to a crisp. Felsic turned his chin up and stomped back into the Pokemon Center, his little paws making 'piff' sounds on the tile floor as he walked to where the hot springs were.

Nurse Joy shook her head. "That had to be one of Mike's Pokemon." Living in a small town had it's disadvantages, people knew you too well.

Portabello merely grinned as he began to meditate once more. Ah well, The fighting Pokemon let out a sigh, his tattered fur regrowing to it's normal shine. All work and no play...

Jane had the dialysis machine, and began to wheel it down towards the ER. It was heavy, and Scarlet was helping her to move it.

"Ugh," Jane said, "I love how all the friggin' equipment in this hospital weighs more than a baby elephant." Her nose twitched a little bit as she strained to push it.
"Yeah... heavy," Scarlet replied, feeling extremely distracted.
"What's wrong?" Jane asked her friend.
"Well... the reason that Nina's having these complications is because of me."
"Because of you? What are you talking about?"
"Well... remember when I asked you to give me those packets of blood? I didn't exactly run a check on Nina to make sure that was her actual blood type. I had just assumed that since her parents and sister had that type that she would too..."
"Scarlet!" Jane exclaimed, nearly steering the dialysis machine into a wall, "How can you possibly do something like that? It's standard procedure to check a new admission's blood type!" She paused. "Although... Your logic does make sense. However, Nina is not befitting to your idea because I believe that she isn't the child of Jessica and Michael Williams."
"She... what?" Scarlet asked, her mouth gaping open a little.
"Think about it; it's the only thing that makes sense! The blood that she was given was not tainted in any way, and when you have two parents with the exact same blood type, it will be passed onto their children. Therefore, Nina is not their child... And it's going to devastate her when she finds out."

Ryka looked over at Jaeshan, smiling lightly. "I'm fine, don't worry about me." She lied. "That was a good battle. At least the part that I saw." She added, patting Bagon on the head. "But you didn't have to stop on account of me." Ryka felt a warmness inside with Jaeshan's hand on her shoulder. She smiled again. "Thanks for caring.."

Kilik looked up as the phone was ringing and he gave a small thumbg up to the Weezing. The Pokemon started to whimper and then bump against him with a whine. "Weezing, no," Kilik groaned, "I don't have the energy to play right now..." he gulped.

"I swear, if this doesn't take him out..." Flareon grumbled, taking a few steps back from the large Steelix, "I'd shave my fur and call myself a Raticate." He looked over at Scizor, who was becoming tired of battle as well. If this 'Maorde Menskr' was some murderer, he'd surely have more Pokemon to contend with. Flareon reared his head back. Well...here goes nothing. He let loose the biggest and strongest Fire Spin that he could muster.

Scizor looked over her shoulder to see the blazing tower engulf Steelix's midsection. She was in awe for a moment. Flareon...you really want to protect the Master. The Pokemon clamped her claws shut and smirked softly. You have a link with the Master that Weezing and I only wish we had. Scizor got in a battle-ready position. When that Steelix falls, I will be ready for his next beast.

Ricky was right. The Pokemart was very easy to spot; Ky didn't even have to look for the coffee shop. The Pokemart sat in between two restaurants at the beginning of main street. As Ricky said, the window had a Pokeball painted on it. Ky walked into the store and was amazed with what he saw. Trainers were bustling inside, gathering items into bags, reading popular Pokemon magazines; some of the trainers even let their Pokemon out to taste test the produce held in the back of the store. The shelves were lined with traveling and battling essentials alike; potions, Pokeballs, and many status-cure items. Ky went over to the aisle saying "Status-effect items" on the sign hanging above it. It didn't take long for him to find the antidotes, taking three of them off the shelf and placing them into his shopping bag. His shopping was done, but Ky couldn't help noticing the strange aisle labeled "TMs/HMs". The items were all small discs, each having a distinct color. They were inside a locked glass case and when Ky saw their prices, he understood why. Another trainer stood next to Ky, studying the discs.

Ky realized he should probably get going. Little Guy and his Weedle were probably done healing by now. Ky walked up to the counter and put the merchandise on top of it. "Three Antidotes? That'll be $300 please," the clerk said. Ky fished the money out of his pocket, giving it to the clerk. "Thank you, we hope to see you again soon!" the clerk said.

Happy that he finally made his purchase, Ky made his way outside, ready to head to the Pokemon Center. When he got outside though, he noticed the coffee shop. Inside, a massive amount of people had gathered, causing quite a commotion. Curious, he walked into the coffee shop.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 21, 2007 10:43 am

The coffee shop wasn't how Ky expected it to be. No one was sitting down, enjoying a mocha or a latte. No one was in line and no one was even making coffee. Everyone had piled themselves into the lounge, leaving almost no room, even for standing. The people closest to the door were talking amongst themselves.

"Do you think such a thing could happen in Goldenrod?" one person asked.

"I'm glad I don't live in Kanto," another person commented.

Curiosity driving him further, Ky squeezed his way into the crowd, noticing that less and less people were talking and more were staring upwards. When Ky looked up, he saw that there was a TV hanging up in the corner. 'Huh, I wonder if a huge tournament has started,' Ky thought as he nudged in for a closer look. As he got closer to earshot range, he could hear an announcer. Listening to it even more, he could tell that it wasn't a tournament announcer, but the sound of a reporter. 'News?' Ky pondered. When he looked up, what he saw was beyond his imagination.

The person on screen was an air reporter, standing near the open door of a helicopter. "From what appeared to be at first a common trainer fight, we see now that things have gotten way out of hand." The reporter moved out of the way, to let the cameraman point the lens outside, looking down. After a passing of a huge cloud of dust, the view cleared to witness the destruction. The ground below was torn, nearby buildings having the sides simply cut through, some dangling, some collapsing. When the camera panned over to the right, Ky's eyes widened. A gigantic snake made of iron appeared, striking maniacly at the ground, creating dust cloud after dust cloud, each eventually making it up towards the helicopter, where you could hear the reporter coughing in between her reports.

"Witnesses to this incident have no idea where this Steelix came from, or to what trainer it belongs. It is said though that this Pokemon is not in the heat of an actual battle, that it is attacking at will, and that it is simply out of control." Another huge crashing sound was made, and again the cameraman waited for the dust to pass. When the camera panned farther to the right, smaller Pokemon appeared that Ky could not recognize. "What we've come to gather is that a lone trainer has decided to counter the attack, having sent four of his Pokemon to subdue the iron snake." Ky looked hard to try to recognize the smaller Pokemon, but his effort was in dismay. All he could see was an orangish Pokemon blasting the monster with huge tornadoes of fire, while a green blur seemed to attack from all sides. Moving even farther to the right, the trainer could be seen, looking to be on his knees on a patch of grass not too far away from the fight. "Our hearts go out to this trainer, risking what most would not dare to do. We only hope that this chaos can end soon, this battle having lasted several minutes already. Our coverage will continue as long as the fight ensues. This is Lauren Belva, from Saffron City, signing out."

Shaking M.A.'s hand Violet smiled at her warmly. "I am sure it is a pleasure to meet you." Seeing that everyone's gaze was on the sky she turned to look at it and spotted the dark clouds as well. "Oh, it looks like Rainy Day, I wonder who is battling?" She said more to herself then anyone else. Turning her gaze away from the battle she smiled at the two. "You two don't mind if I let my pokemon out as well? It has been a while since they all have been able to come out and streach their legs." Without waiting she had released Sugah who floated around some before wrapping around his trainer happily glad that there was no fight or anything.

The very light Swablu cooed softly to herself, still perched upon Ivy's head. The Ivysaur must've not noticed her sitting there yet; after all, she weighed less than a pound, and had barely moved at all, being rather content with just being close to that lovely bulb's scent. She was just about to make her presence known and introduce herself when the Ivysaur put his head down, causing her to lose balance and tumble off. "Swaaa," she hiccuped, as she plopped clumsily onto the ground right before the Ivysaur and Houndoom. Still, her spirits were soaring high that day (and most likely almost every day, really), so she half-giggled, half-chirped at the Gengar's antics.

Realizing that the other grass-type Pokemon looked rather dejected and tired, she hopped over to M.A.'s bag, pecking out one of the pellets of Pokemon food that had fallen out of M.A.'s packaging. "Swablu?" she asked, offering the medium-sized ball with her beak and poking it at Ivysaur's mouth comically, like a mother would do to her baby with a spoon. It's good, she seemed to say, and it took some restraint on her part not to swallow it herself; her master had told her not to eat any more for her own good, so she should listen, she reminded herself.

"A battle. . . " Mary-Anne echoed quietly. How crazy it must be over there, that even the weather would bend to their Pokemon's whims! But it didn't seem that Kasiya would've stopped willingly to battle for fun if she was trying to get Zyphyr to a PokeCenter quickly. . . "D'you think things are okay over there?" she asked uncertainly, to everyone and no one in particular.

"Saffron City..." Ky mumbled to himself. When Ky looked at where the fight was taking place, he saw that it wasn't too far from where his family used to live. A little bit of nostalgia washed by, remembering his friends, his classmates. That was soon interrupted when a trainer, looking to be in his late teens stood up on top of one of the tables, getting a lot of the room's attention. His face was serious and upset.

"We have to help him!" he said. "We need every available trainer who can afford the trip to Saffron to go help him take down that Steelix!" The room began to break into discussion when he said this. Another trainer spoke.

"You're insane! There's no one here who has Pokemon strong enough to take that thing down! Even Falkner would be powerless! Not to mention that the fight will probably be over by the time we get there, for bad or for worse," he countered. The trainer on the table bit his lip, not sure of what to say to that.

"We have to have someone help!" he ended, frustrated. No one responding, he got down from the table. "I'll go even though you guys won't," He said, storming out of the coffee house.

Ky felt for the trainer, knowing that it would be the best thing in the world right now for the lone trainer to have some assistance. Ky though, knew he could do even less, his Pokemon barely experienced with normal battles as it was. Seeing the trainer leave made him realize that he should get going; his Pokemon were waiting for him.
