I know they are good, but I don't consider them infantry. When I say you don't count them, they aren't a scoring unit.
I have a 500 pt Tau army, but haven't gotten the chance to use it yet.

Gun Drone Squadrons are scoring. Ethereal's aren't by the virtue of being Independent Characters and Sniper Drones are specifically non scoring.

I might think about getting some kroot.

WEll the kroot I was talkinga bout are Kroot Mercs, but Tau cant take them.

You could get some normal Kroot though, they are cheap and if you have some hounds in the unit they are not bad at all.

They are, but they can be insta-killed by S6 weapons.

Im thinking about some Kroot Ox.
They look beastly.

They are, but they can be insta-killed by S6 weapons.

Then make sure the enemy doesn't have any of those!

They can't be much higher toughness than 3 themselves though, can they?

I have come to accept Eldar toughness as a trade off for higher speed and a well rounded ability to kick a**.

Warp spiders for example again.

22 S6 shots. Engage in close combat, throw out 22 close combat (4 of which are power weapon attacks) attacks, withdraw 3D6"
And yet they still have a 3+ armour save.

Anyhow.

Um. Kroot are nice, I was not inclined byt he Krootox, but it might be valuable to try out.

I like the Kroot as they are. But Krootox just slow down the Kroot to a nigh useless speed...

Never said I was gonna take the Krootox for my eldar. I could with the Kroot merc list, but will I? No. Their assault units are nice. And if Infiltration is allowed then all of the lovely assaulting kroot units can infiltrate. biggrin

Without the infiltrate the kroot are stuck in your deployment zone without a coversave. Can you say free victory points?
