He caught her arm and looked her over, determined to his own satisfaction that she was not hurt and smiled a crooked smile. It certainly wasn't charming and he dropped it off his wary face almost as soon as it stretched his stiff lips. "You can help me indeed," he said, almost amused, almost friendly, almost fatherly in tone, "I'm Julios, the Phoenix Mage. I'm travelling from universe to universe in search of valuable artifacts, potions, powders and magical knick knacks." His curled, gray to green brows came down like shutters over a window, further hiding his piercing eyes. He removed his hat, shoved it into his satchel and bowed just a bit, curls falling into his face. "I was recommended here by an acquaintance, who I will not name, and told that you housed a considerable store of unusual things." He finally released her arm, extended his hand and without a thought, removed the pointer finger of his left hand. When he blew into the open end, it made a hollow sound, like that of a bird's bone, and he kept blowing until it no longer whistled. The sound was satisfactory, air hitting something solid. He tapped out several silver coins from the finger into his left palm, counted them, frowned, shook the finger and tapped out several more.
"I can pay for whatever it is," he continued, replacing the finger back on the nub of his index, "if you'd much rather have currency."

Stats wachted the man fear playing accross her face. She bit her lip and looked away from his had shuddering nearly brining birl to her mouth. She quietly forced it away and stood thinking. There were things in this castle that she did not wish to be parted from but they desperatly needed the gold when they went to the capital. Finaly she looked at him solomly "Why do you want some of the treasures of the old world?" She watched his face lookinf for some clue as to what he was thinking.

Vesiss pulls the kettle over to where she is on the counter. She lays her hands around it and concentrates for several minutes -- but her mind is elsewhere. Listening to the stranger and her friend Stat. She could feel the dilemma that Stat was in... they really needed gold right now, but could he be trusted?
With her mind lost in thoughts, the kettle forgotten, the halfelf is quite started when the pot in her hand starts to whistle. "Oops." She whispers to herself, not wanting to disturb the others and removes her hands.

Stats mearly waved in acklowlodgment of the two males keeping most of her attenion on this one who was asking about the mostly insignifact itesm from hers and the castlers personal stores. Most would not be missed however there were a few that if used correctly that could creat massive devestation and she did not wish toenvok that on her family ere or on the world at large.

He scratched wearily at the soul-patch of curls on his chin. "In short, I am the cosmos incarnate, the physical manifestation of some five hundred universes, entrusted by the mother-goddess herself to shape new universes and destroy others." He made a flourishing gesture, the coins still glimmering flat on the palm of his hand. "This one hasn't outlived it's usefulness, thankfully for you all. But, I require artifacts to populate some of the universes I must make." His face took on the old, craggy features that sometimes came with considerable decisions. "Rather than destroy this place, I'd prefer to exchange, in whatever currency you find relevant. Otherwise, I'd have to implode this part of the space/time continuum and scavenge the pieces. That," and he emphasized with a finger, "is how a universe is made, the ricchocet of objects and explosions of stars, suns, novas and planets." The mage let those facts hang in the air for a time. He could rightly assume that no living thing with knowledge of its own existence--humanoids--would allow utter destruction to happen, especially if it were to unpopulate their universe for unpopulated floating objects, so he was pretty confident in his trading position.

Stats looked abashed she hadnt expected him to be so foreward. She let her head fall foreward the mark of a defeted no matter how hard she tried to protect the ones she cared for it always seemed another was standing ready to make that impossible. Here was this man threating to desroy there very exsitance if she did not hand over things that could destroy there very exsistance. She looked at Gelder lindin then Veses and even the little one her tounge sliding over her bottem lip. Tears clung to her eyes unafreind to show them selves but almost afaird to fall. She looked down and moved quietly her skirts ruslint in the dead silence to a large black wood cabnet locked in one corner. Here was where things that had no purpose in this world were kept things shed tried to hide from site to protect the inocents. She dug out a set of keys the jingling sounding loud and hollow in the silent cavern. Stats flicked her eyes to Ves one last time before throwing open the doors exposing the things inside. Vases jars pipes pouches bags of all shapes and sizes litterd the shelves. "Take our pick everthing is labed as best as it could be."

Vesiss follows Stat's every movement with her eyes. She's not sure what the lady is up to, but she's worried about the man. The halfelf catches the look thrown at her, and moves around the counter. She takes a seat in one of the chairs and watches the rest of the exchance. Though, she can't help glancing into the cabinet to see... just what exactly Stat is offering the stranger.

Gieldar, who was following the conversation closely, gasped when the man made that threat, he recognised him now. Gieldarion and Julios had met before, but that was a few hundred years ago, Gieldar looked to Stats, "Stats, the mage is telling the truth, and he is quite capable of carrying out that threat..." Gieldar resolved to find out when this universe was to end its usefullnes sometime, the elders of his species would be able to bring some to another, safer universe.

It's not fair! Linden thought. This guy comes out of nowhere, demanding valueable artifacts, and threatens us if we don't give it to him, and if Gieldar's right, there's nothing we can do about it. Damn, this pisses me off!
