Adele nodded. "I should get at least my shoes," she said, glancing at her bare feet. She was planning to get a separate room and spend some time there to cool down. She stood, still hugging Rue.

Rue stood and then lifted her in his arms, so she didn't have to walk bare footed anymore. He started walking back.

Adele sighed when he lifted her up. She leaned her head against his shoulder and tried to be easy for him to carry.
