Naive THIS!!
As the disks neared, the Maverick Hunter jumped flipping into the air, bringing the green saber around in several swinging overhead slashes towards the charging foe. He might have been strong, but there wasn't much that could survive the power of Zero's Saber.

Bass leaped backwards, pulling his hand back into a cannon.
~Pshwooo! Pshwooo! Pshwooo!
After firing three quick bursts of energy at his spinning foe, Forte started to charge his cannon up with dark energy. There was a good chance that those blasts would knock Zero out of the sky, leaving him prone to the Maverick's assault.

The spinning saber neatly cut through the energy blasts that were fired towards Zero, and as he landed, he took note that his target had moved. His sensors registered the power in those blasts. This foe seemed stronger than your average Maverick. No matter... He wouldn't be ANYTHING compared to Sigma...
As Zero came out of the flip, he landed in a crouch, his sword retracting, and his arm stabilizing his gun as he fired a single yellow ball of sparkling energy towards the enemy.

~BLOOO! Pshwooo!Forte fired off his strong shot, using it to nullify Zero's shot. Before they even collided, he fired off a second, less powerful shot that would speed past towards his red foe. Not only that, but...  ~KCHEEOO!...Bass quickly turned to his other side and fired a second charge shot with his other arm. If Zero backed away from the second shot, he would merely ajust his aim before firing this one.

Zero furrowed his brow and smirked. He'd kept the blade in his right hand... He swung the blade outward horizontally and another blade of energy collided with the second weaker blast...
~Shweeeeeeeeeee...
The blade and blast exploded once they hit each other in a tie as the enemy fired his third blast, and as he fired, Zero jumped into the air, energy flowing around his body, the blast exploding as it hit the ground below him where he had just been..
~Eeeeeeeeeeeeee...

Bringing his arms down to his sides, Bass brought two armblades of dark energy into existance. Grinning maliciously, he leaped up to meet his foe in the sky.
"Die!"

~Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... As the dark Maverick approached, he'd see something frightening. Zero's blue eyes would dilate, making him look almost psychotic as his mouth curled into a dark smirk, his arm moving in front of him as the energy within it suddenly seemed to flow backwards down the barrel before... The massive force of the blast would erupt towards the rising, close range, opponent. The beam was so powerful that the air on either side of it blurred from the shock, as Zero was propelled away and to the ground, his feet leaving two massive ruts in the rooftop where the blast had pushed him back...
And all that force was directed towards the target at close range...

"!?!"Forte quickly threw his armsblades in front of the beam to shield himself from as much damage as possible. Of course, he couldn't necissarily deflect an entire blast like that, and was sent flying up and over the edge of the collapsed building. After rebounding hard off the cement, he made did a small flip and landed in a crouching position, skidding across the ground. Now that he was in the ruined streets, there was only one thing he could say: So much for an ultimate attack. If that was all the Maverick hunter could do, then he was wasting his time. This did, however, mean it was time to kick things up a notch. If his foe was that serious about dying, then what else could Bass do than oblige?

 Heh, I'm just getting started...you Maverick scum...Zero pulled out his sword once more and jumped down the side of the building, skidding down its height to reach the ground where his opponent stood. He grinned that twisted grin again and chuckled as he stood ready...

As Bass charged in energy, he began to levitate off the ground. He was clearly unamused. "I told you already...""MY NAME'S NOT MAVERICK!"Forte was surrounded by an aura of dark energy, a good portion of which was focused into his right hand. Whatever it was he had in store for Zero, it wouldn't be good.

Zero ignored the Maverick's complaining. He'd show this guy who the top gun was around here. Or in this case the top swordsman. With several lightning fast strikes, four energy blades were sent towards the floating enemy as Zero's legs bent, at the ready...

...which would promptly dissipate at the aura shield that now surround him. A pity; Bass was hoping Zero would be foolish enough to charge in at him headlong, but no matter. The entire aura would be fired off in one quick burst, followed immediatly by the bit surrounding his hand.
However, this would be no cakewalk to avoid, as the bursts each split up into four, leaving Zero with a total of eight powerful energy orbs to deal with. Whats more is that each would explode in a torrent of dark electricity if they got close enough to him.

Alright then, if thats the way it had to be. The energy blasts shot towards Zero, and as they neared he jumped backwards as the first set headed towards him, the four blasts exploding on the ground below his feet as he kicked up and over the second volley of shots as they hit glass behind him, exploding outwards, and helping to launch him into his next attack.
Blue-white energy formed up around his form as he shot a powerful energy kick directly towards the recently de-powered Bass, aiming to send him into the ground with the power as he flew from the debris towards his target, hand on his trusty Z Saber, ready to attack.

With the help of his jet-boots, Bass rocketed backwards away from the falling Zero. It was at this time he noticed something familiar about his opponent: his hair, armor, and weapon. He looked exactly like...
"Wait. YOU'RE that girlie-looking long-haired robot Wily said would be the strongest?"
With this revelation at hand, Bass couldn't help but cackle a bit. In fact, he burst out in a full-out laugh riot.
"I knew his expectations were too high."

An explosion erupted from where Zero's kick landed on the ground. When the dust cleared, Zero would be seen holding the saber in his hand as his blue eyes stared coldly towards the laughing maniac. I don't know what you're laughing about you Maverick scum, but out of the both of us, I'm the only one who's landed a hit.
...and that one wasn't even at full power. The same grin took up a spot on his face once more as energy began to collect around his form, the same swooshing noise emanating from his form as he took hold of the saber and brushed the dust off from his armor. So, does that mean you're all bark and no bite?
