"Oh." Now why hadn't that ever occurred to Zahara? It made sense that Fianna wouldn't be clicking into Lab because it wasn't her home plane and she had no reason to be worried about using runes here. "Can you still use the energy here in an emergency if you need to?" She'd never really asked such a question of Sevilin since it had never come up, but it was important to know that Fianna wasn't without defenses. "Does Kieran feel the same way you do about Savryn and Malik?"
"Honestly, that was your father's fault for keeping you out of school as long as he did. And it wasn't like you ever had to fight your battles alone. Zykariel was always eager to scrap with whoever was giving you a hard time. He got into enough fights on his own, too." Rolling her eyes at his vocal and reckless friend. She nuzzled him, pressing a kiss to his cheek but missing and hitting his ear instead. "You're not a bad husband because by those standards I'm a bad wife. And I don't want to be one of those either." Then giving an awkward laugh. "Your aunt and your best friend would probably be jumping for joy if they could hear us right now."

"Yes I can. I've used runes here before. For rune mages of my level our tuning into a plane is more or less unnoticed by ourselves as we know how to flux the energy flow to ourselves unconciously. For lessers it would take perhaps a bit more effect, maybe a little more concentration." Shaking her head though at the mention of Kieran. "I don't think even Kieran knows. After all...he adored Piper. I think it upsets him a little in the fact that Malik would not know what he has, until he lost it. And for Savvy, losing her would not mean her skipping off somewhere. It would probably mean her death. You have to forgive us for our parenting methods were so very skewed with Piper. Kieran grappled for every moment he could have with Piper, I don't think he can fathom anything else."
"Well, it was my idea to go to school, he never kept me out. I just felt I was better off having private study and attention from those that didn't pace the lessons by the rest of the class." Moment of brain dead however, giving a happy noise and a funny look before he snapped out of it. Darn ears. "Zahara and Zykariel are just happy to see someone getting all they can out of life when it's possible for them. It's just how they are."

"Like me. I'd probably have to have a direct connection to the plane itself or it would be a losing battle. Most things are with me, you know. Comes from not having the drive or dedication to actually learn the rune mage art." Her daughter, on the other hand, was very different about that sort of thing. "You would have thought that when she lost her sight, he would have become more involved, not less. And I don't care how guilty he felt because of it. That was just an excuse to stay back." Shaking her head and crossing her arms. "At least someone else sees why I feel the way I do. I just know how much anguish that little girl has gone through and it makes me angry that the reason he's taking an interest in her now is because he can use her."
"But if you hadn't gone to school, you never would have met me." And they wouldn't be sitting here together right now and she wouldn't be asking him questions he'd probably rather not answer. And things would be very different. It was often surreal to think about how much things had changed. "And what about you, Khai? Are you happy that I've asked?"

"Well, as it's said by all, the runic arts are for a particular brand of people. It really does depend on a certain personality type and the like. It is why there are so few in certain levels. The higher you go, the more your personality must be fit for the art or there is no reason to continue to engage in learning it. This is just the way of things." Watching quietly before speaking her own thoughts on Malik's actions. "Savryn does look a lot like her mother, and Piper did take a bad turn for a bit while Savvy was recovering. Perhaps that only wounded him more. We're not in his head so we'll never know. But we can hope for the best outcome of this all."
"I met you at one of Zykariel's parties...but truth be told, I would have never gotten to know you if I hadn't gone to school. So it works out." But he gave a grin and a laugh. "I am...I don't think you should live in the dark about such things and you'll feel better at least knowing about it all. However...this kind of thing is something that happens in the moment and shouldn't be planned. You'll know when the time is right."
((And day change for interesting horrible fun and ahhh! things.))
Crawling up into her parents' bed, Bumbles bounding up onto the bed as well and across it that matter not caring where his paws landed, she scooted her way up to where her parents were cuddled up together in the middle of it. Had gone to bed early and found it quite easy to slip into reverie and here she was now, quite eager to start things. "Mama, Daddy." Often she didn't crawl into the bed...but daddy had been in such a good mood lately she figured he wouldn't mind and she wanted their attention anyway.
He yawned as he sat up, distangling himself from his wife and remembering the note this father has sent him. Savvy wanted to jump into this necromancy thing and that meant he needed to be around to help too. Fun. Creepy a** necromancy. Leaning over he pressed a kiss to Kaelin's cheek, and nuzzled at her lightly. "I have to go help with Savvy."
"It's rather dim here Kelli...I like it. Perfect for work at all times." She gave a laugh tinted with mischevious nature. But holding his hand, their fingers laced, the woman followed him. Her skin was the color of dark almost burnt wood, long coal colored hair framing her fave and delicately pointed ears, and bright emerald eyes stood out from the rest of her. Her clothing spoke her trade, just as Kelligrin's did; full of snaps, buckles and ties that were easy to remove clothing with if need be. No weapons were visible save a lone dagger at her side in a gilded hilt.

She rolled over and locked her leg around one of his, mumbling something in her hazy reverie. Was he talking about leaving? No, he wasn't allowed to leave the bed yet; she wasn't even up and moving about. "Hm? Help with Savvy? Your brother was just banished for doing the same thing, Khai. Come back to bed. Snuggle with me."
He laughed softly and glanced around his home with disinterest. He'd always felt trapped here, stifled by his parents, his family, the lack of anyplace to go on this plane. Was it wrong to feel that way? Probably. Unable to resist the allure of the woman beside him, he pulled her against his body and rested his face against her hair. "I'm glad you like it, T. Are you ready to meet my family or would you rather sneak off for recreational activities?" Moving his hands proprietarily over her body in suggestion.

He gave an amused noise as she insisted that he stay in bed. "Yes, Savvy is going to start learning her necromancy today. What Dhairiss was doing wasn't help." But he plopped back down with her, it wasn't like anyone was calling him, he was just up early. "And he wasn't banished. He's being made to indulge his wanderlust."
Tihirii rolled her eyes at his antics though she did take a moment to meanfully rub her body back into his seductively. "Now now, Kelligrin. We had fun three times before we even came here. I don't want to be looking all shabby." Moving him away from he with a knock from her hip as she took hold of his hand again, pulling. "Maybe if you behave, we can have more fun later."

His hand twitched...before a somewhat strangled yelp from Bumbles as the creatures claws on his bed had snapped him from reverie in a defensive grab at the draithix's head, though he was still sluggish and the yelp was more out of surprise then malik actually doing anything...one eye half open that slipped around and found his daughter on their bed. hmm. was it that late already? after all Savryn wasn't known for dark and early.
"what is it, daughter? something wrong?"
yep, sluggish and still a bit out of sorts.

The yelp made her ears twitch and drew her attention, deciding to give a look to what that was with a light slide of green light over her eyes...not that she got to see much as daddy's hand was covering Bumbles face. Oh well, no sense in doing that then. Letting the talent go she frowned. "Stop being trouble Bumbles." Which did indeed get the draithic to stop struggling. "I can't go back to bed." When she was up, she was up and that was all there was to it."
"Did you try dear?" Mumbled from her mother that was still quite contently snugged close to her husband, though one hand did reach out and grab Malik's wrist and squeeze to make him reflexively let the draithix go. Wouldn't be the first thing he grabbed like that out of a dead reverie. Catching little boys and animals that hurled themselves at the bed had practically become he speciality. Not in so recent years but still.
"I tried. You said I had to go to bed early and I did and now I'm up early." In fact she had been finding herself able to slip into reverie easier since this magic business when usually she was a fussy one about it.
Which got another noise from her mother. "Malik. Your daughter is up early." And thus completely shifting responsibility to him. Ha.

"It was his own version of help." She kept quiet on the Savvy front seeing as she didn't have a dog in that fight and the D'vinn family, as welcoming as they might be, had certain subjects that were closed to outsiders. And she was still an outsider. Not in all things but in some very family-based things. "Are you going to have that too? Do I have to worry about them suddenly snatching you and tossing you to another plane? Would they send me with you?"
He was willing to do just about anything to avoid taking her home to meet his family. Sure, he'd agreed to this, but that had been before they'd gotten here. His loud and rambunctious family...his father's dislike of anything that wasn't drow...and his mother's need to mother everything in sight. And that wasn't even counting his siblings. Maybe Zykariel wouldn't come home. Kelli shook his head and sighed. Who was he kidding? His mother would summon the troops for one of their 'family' dinners and she'd hold court, ready to pop any recalcitrant or unruly member with her wooden spoon of doom.
"You could never look shabby." With a particular feeling of dread, he tugged her along until he drew her to a stop just before the runic alarms his father had set up and he sighed. "Home sweet home." Glancing at the house he grew up in, he turned back to his fiancée. "Are you sure you're ready to do this?"

"Me? No. I never had that wanderlust urge like he had and what little I did, I did here on plane. I've grown out of it and it hasn't bothered me since. Suppose I do take after my father in many ways." He let a hand play through her hair as he continued to play into her whims of being lazy. "You don't have to worry about any of that at all, so there's no need to ask such things."
"I've looked shabby a time or two. Remember that last training mission we did? I came out looking horrid." Not that she cared too much. Vanity didn't serve an assassin, as they lived to be obscure anyway. Didn't mean she didn't take care of herself though. A blink down as she sensed the magic they had stopped before and she turned bright eyes back up to him. "Am I never not ready?"
Sevilin who was up dark and early as ever, was nose deep in some reports about natural activity happening as he sat at the kitchen table. He cleared his throat before simply annoucing, "Kelligrin is home."

Malik opened the other eye and glanced at his wife.
"When she gets up at Sevilin hours, she's your daughter."
but he could feel the two little eyes watching him, even if they couldn't see him, adn closed both his eyes and then slowly sat up, running a hand through his hair lightly.
"Alright, alright. I'm up."

"It's past Sevilin hours. I'm in the clear. And you know what she wants." She had been very clear about that the day prior. She wanted her father's attention. Otherwise the girl would be clung to her mother by now. Instead Savryn had merely taking to playing with Piper's hair while she sat the waiting and listening.
She was being quiet and patient as she could be. It just wasn't polite to make a lot of noises early, especially when other people were still shaking off reverie. But sensing shifts in position she took that as an awake now sign. "I had a peach." Trying to show her initiative in the fact that she had fed herself breakfast. Somewhat.

"There are so many differences between the three of you that sometimes it's hard to imagine that you're all siblings." In fact, if anyone had asked her to pick the three D'vinn children out of a lineup, she never would have chosen the proper ones, except Malikhai who looked exactly like his father. She snuggled against him and nodded. "Good. Don't think I could handle you wandering off randomly. What exactly are you supposed to be teaching your sister?"
"Nobody looks beautiful with blood all over them." He'd gotten it in his eyes and he hated that. "It was a particularly nasty one to execute." He knew she knew why they'd stopped but he didn't venture an answer yet either. "If I'm answering truthfully, no, but just this once it'd be nice if you took some time to think about your decision. However, it doesn't matter because my father already knows I'm on the plane and he's probably already told my mother." Sighing as he resigned himself to his fate, he laced an arm around her waist resting his hand at the small of her back and stepped into the yard and up to the door.
At the stove, making breakfast as always, she turned and glanced at her husband then nodded. "You said that just now because you knew he'd be popping up on my bond as well." Drying her hands, she plopped a kiss on the top of her husband's head in passing and moved to the door, opening it just as her son was reaching on the other side. "Kelligrin Inthara, I should smack you with my spoon for staying gone so long. Don't you know better than to upset your mama?" The girl at his side was given a cursory once-over and then Zahara smiled. "Welcome. Come on in, you're just in time for breakfast."

"Well, I suppose you could tell we're all together by our ears all being blue or blue tipped but probably not too many would know that we get that from our mother with a color boost from our father." They really were different but it was nice to know for him. "Just have to help make sure things go well and I'm a backup in case dad needs me. You never know who Savryn is going to lean to on any given day or how she's going to be."
"Yes, but I still have first call on realizing he was here. I win this round, I get the prize." Hey, they had all kinds of these littles games between them. Often it was hard to tell when something was a reward challenge and when something wasn't. But it worked out.
"Beautiful isn't the word I would us, no. But there is something striking about such an apperance, you have to give me that." She elbowed him with a chuckle at his words. "You say it like I'm walking into hell. I'm a big girl...I can kill my own targets and everything." Brushing a finger under his chin and letting him lead up to the place though he didn't even get a chance to open the door. Being lead in however, her manners took the stage. "Despite Kelligrin's words, it's very nice to meet you Lady Inthara. Feel free to hit him with your spoon all you like, no need to be nice in front of me." Troublemaker too. "I'm Tihirii Telphir."

She seriously didn't know how to feel about that little tidbit of information. His sister was quite the subject of talk lately and it just didn't sound good to her. "Well, I'm not letting you go by yourself. I'll just sketch or something while you two teach." Leaning up and giving him a kiss then pushing him towards the end of the bed. "Up, up. You have a young elf to teach."
"I know. Would it help if I said I missed you?" Pulling her to him with a hug and a kiss to her cheek before he tugged T inside and then moved to the kitchen. "Hi Dad. I'm surprised you didn't meet us at the line."
"Later." Called over her shoulder of course as she greeted the couple at the door. Her gaze swept Tihirii for a moment as she noted the girl's coloring. Sevilin would behave but she'd probably hear about it later. What was with her children's attraction to non-drow? Returning her son's affection, she gently patted his a** with the spoon as he strolled off and turned her attention to the girl. "Pleasure to meet you, Tihirii." Closing the door, she led the way after her son into the kitchen. "Sevilin, this is Tihrii Telphir, Kelligrin's...friend."
