The tsunami quickly passed, and the HQ opened up again. Hunter walked over to a window to look outside. Trees had been ripped up and there were large puddles all about the island. This was only a small bit of the damage it had done. Aqua HQ was the only building on the island, but other places weren't as fortunate. Hunter turned the television back on, and the network was back up.

"We are just now flying over some of the coastal areas that have been damaged from the tsunami, and things look bleak. It will take days to clear through the rubble to find the dead, and possibly, though it seems beyond hope, the surviving. This tsunami was created from the crashing of a meteor that was were previously tracking before the network was cut. Already divers are being sent down into the ocean to recover the meteor so that it can be studied for any special properties. We will continue coverage throughout the next several hours."

MISSION- Birch's First Break-in
Any Team Aqua member is asked to go to Prof. Birch's lab in Littleroot and steal one of his three pokemon (Treeko, Torchic, Mudkip). You must sneak in at night. But don't get caught by Prof. Birch or his assistant. At some point you must battle the pokemon you stole/are stealing, if you want to catch it.

Lucas let out a shaky breath as he pushed open the front doors to the Team Aqua Headquarters. Today was his first day and he wanted to make a good impression. He entered and watched as several members were running around. Lucas made his way to the Missions area as he saw an admin flipping through some folders.

“Hello sir. I’m Lucas and I’m kind of new-“ “Are you looking for a mission?” Lucas nodded vigorously and the admin pulled out a folder. “You’re lucky. I just found one for a noob such as yourself. We need you to break into Professor Birch’s lab and steal one of the three pokemon inside.” Lucas nodded slowly, feeling the pressure of his first mission sinking in. “Let me go over the specifics. You can’t get caught, obviously, so you should probably do it at night. And you should need to avoid Prof. Birch and anyone he’s working with.” Lucas nodded and got to his feet.

Lucas was exiting the office when the admin called out to him. “Two things: You might have to battle the pokemon, so make sure your pokemon are healed. And the name’s Jerry in case you were wondering.” Lucas waved goodbye to Jerry as he left the building. He pulled out both of his pokeballs, containing Zubat and Feebas. Zubat had been with him since Lucas was a kid and they were as synchronized as can be. Feebas was relatively new but he was loyal, even if he was lazy. He pulled his bike around and headed for Littleroot Town.

Hours later, Lucas arrived at Littleroot Town and he was glad he picked the Acro model of bike. He stepped off and locked his bike around a nearby tree. The lab was in clear view and the sun had set a while ago. He stepped lightly as he headed to the back entrance of the lab. “I hope the doors are unlocked.” To Lucas’ surprise, the doors were unlocked and Lucas snuck inside.

The lab was poorly lit as the only light was coming from computers. Lucas bent down and crawled around the lab to avoid attracting attention. He spotted Prof. Birch and for a moment, thought he was caught. But Lucas spotted the earphones in the professor’s ears and as the professor looked for the last slice of pizza in the fridge, Lucas snuck to the holding pens.

He noticed all three of the pokemon were housed in separate pens: Torchic in a hay filled house, Mudkip in a swampish pit, and Treecko in a forest-like pen. He had decided to take Treecko on the way over, so he crept up behind the gecko pokemon and threw a sack over him. Throwing the sack over his back, Lucas began to head to the back door when he encountered a problem. The professor’s aide was working at a computer in the last room with the door. If Lucas tried to walk past him, he would surely be spotted. Thinking quickly, he silently released Zubat, and with the aide of signals, sent Zubat to cause a distraction across the room. Zubat soared and knocked over a stack of papers and using the time, Lucas ran out the back door with Zubat following close behind. The aide silently cursed Professor Birch for leaving the door open for wild pokemon to come in.

Walking slowly, Lucas and Zubat celebrated the victory. “That wasn’t too hard, was it?” “Zu.” Lucas continued to smile until the sack started to squirm. “Uh oh.” The sack burst open as a very grumpy Treecko stared down the duo. He hadn’t taken to kindly to being disturbed from his sleep. “Looks like we have a battle on our hands. Go Zubat!” Zubat flew forward as Treecko jumped skyward and came down in a flip, using a Pound attack. Lucas and Zubat dove to either side as Treecko came down. “Use Supersonic!” Zubat opened its mouth and let out a screech of noise, causing Treecko to fall to its knees in pain. “Now follow up with Bite!” Zubat darted forward and bit Treecko on the neck. Treecko began howling in pain and ran into a tree, Zubat first. Zubat fell off and Treecko used a Quick Attack to attack the defenseless Zubat. “He is too close to dodge. Use Leech Life!” Zubat bit down on Treecko’s arm and began sucking. Strange green lights were seen coming from Treecko to Zubat and when Zubat disconnected, it looked much better. “Now finish it with Supersonic.” Zubat let out another shriek and Treecko was running around in circles, thoroughly confused. He used a Quick Attack on a tree, knocking itself out. Lucas threw a pokeball and after rolling for a few seconds, the capture was successful. “A little more work but still okay. Let’s head back, Zubat.” Lucas climbed back on his bike and headed back to HQ with Zubat following behind.

Deryx got mad "Because there is something not right about that meteorite, don't you want to find out what it is? Plus anyways our aqua bikes are faster in the water then any sub or diver."

SC suddenly rushed in, soaking wet, bookbag and all, but otherwise fine. She skidded to a halt in front of Hunter and Deryx with a soaked Umbreon crashing into her heels.
"I.....was at the library nearby on the mainland.. really close to the coast......it hit, nearly took out the walls..what happened?" she asked and said at the same time. She knew Hunter and Deryx would know what she meant by "it". She stood there, dripping wet and panting for a moment before taking her soaking bookbag off.

SC nodded.
"You could say the books absorbed most of the water," she joked. She then sighed and groaned when Hunter left. "And I didn't find out what caused the tsunami...."
She turned to the TV and began watching the news report of the meteorite. After finding out it was the meteorite that caused the tsunami, she walked to a storage room off one of the halls and got a towel, and wrung out her hair over a restroom sink. She walked back in using the towel to finish drying her hair in time to hear more about the tsunami's destruction, and that some divers had gone down to inspect the meteorite. SC sat down and began to watch the info being broadcasted about how the meteorite had caused the tsunami. She shuddered and hoped there would be no aftershocks.

*Leaves two notes on the bulletin board*

Hunter lands just outside HQ on Draking, and returns him after hopping off, then walks inside. His eye is immediately drawn to the main buliten, where he sees several notes that weren't there the day before. Looking at the first note he sees his mistake from yesterday about the Aqua bike. "Well, we still woulda gotten there second anyway..." he says, then looks at the other note. "I guess I should read through the mission then."
