Alice blinked at the Flabebe's appearance, her arms tightening around Vorpal-- at this point, the Honedge was foaming at his non-existent mouth whenever confronted by the tiny Fairy-types. And while Alice was a bit nervous, that didn't mean she would let her dear partner's temper get the better of him. Perhaps this one meant no harm?
... and how. The short android couldn't stop herself from giving a small gasp as the Flabebe produced the stolen Big Root. Her cheeks flushed a light pink as she said, "Oh, you didn't have to, but... thank you so--!" And then her thought was interrupted by a pat on the head. Blushing in full force (what had she done to deserve such praise?), she watched wordlessly as the Single Bloom Pokemon disappeared into the tall grass. Humming softly, she'd scoop the Big Root up and turn it to her makeshift backpack. A gift to protect... she smiled as she pressed forward.
The first portion of Alex's climb would go swimmingly; no slip-ups, no attacks, and no strange ghosts coming to harass him. But as he reached the top of the wall, something very odd happened.
The wall vanished. (Distantly, a high-pitched giggle rang out, and if any Pokemon had been around, they would have heard the words, >Ah, Peekaboo, you've got the best pranks! <)
The good news was that there was no longer blocking the way forward. The bad news was that without the wall to hold onto, there was nothing stopping Alex from crashing back down onto the rock below.
[Alex gains +1 injury!]

Finally, some good news in this place. That thought vanished the moment he heard noise, followed by the wall vanishing. Though he hit the ground hard, he was able to will himself back to his feet. After a moment, he proceeded forward where the wall had been.

It seemed that the boy had the worst timing when it came to going through an area. Like it had a moment ago, the ground beneath Alexander's feet rumbled, forcing the young trainer to move out of the way before a split appeared in the hot earth. Yet another magby crawled out of the magma below, causing the young boy to give the snickering pokemon a dull glare."...You want to join your buddy?"he asked, nodding back towards the way he came and referring to the headless corpse not to far in that direction. He didn't give the fire type a chance to answer, though, as once again the boy's barboach would have to suffer in the area's heat."So be it. Let's end this fast with Mud-Slap."
Once again forced to bear the heat, Tsuna quickly did as he had done with the last magby and slimed up some dirt to slap in the baby fire type's direction. The little pokemon didn't exactly want to behead another one, but he really wanted back into his ball and wasn't keen on holding back if it meant risking more time spent in the heat. So, it seemed the little fire type would have to deal with the mud-slinging fish if it wanted to start on its reign of terror.
She would make it back as she continues to float. Shiloh would soon realize that the move though it was closer to the ground wouldn't wear off completely, instead, she was allowed to stay floating like that for the reminder of the battle.
That was very useful information, very useful indeed as he reaches over and touches her head lightly. He would help to turn her around as she saw that the pokemon was getting bigger and its color was starting to change.
She would squeal in delight, because, she was beginning to realize that though it took longer the pokemon was still changing color when she wanted it too.
"Okay, once more, Ember."
Shiloh would declare as he seems to be talking sweetly in her ear. The pokemon would smile before she would try the same attack again. The boy could see things were turning out quite badly, with it's growth, the pokemon was becoming more and more aware and stronger too. This battle needs to end and soon.
The bog had brought Poppy many interesting sights during her journey, but it was doubtful few would be able to match up to what she was to bare witness to next. Riding on a wave that had come in from the sea, was a Lotad, surfing without board or the actual move. Sporting a rather devil may care set of sunglasses, the Lotad was even doing tricks! At least....until he suddenly stumbled, rolling through the wave and landing face first into the path. This was what they generally referred to as a 'wipe out'. Obviously such a cool dude could never mess up like this on there own though! Arceus forbid! That left only one logical conclusion!
">Dude, ya like, totally threw off my groove!<" The Pokemon shouted accusingly as he turned to Poppy. Seemed he'd decided this was somehow her fault! ">Like, nobody messes with the dude's groove!<" He called out, hopping about on his short legs angrily. It would seem things were coming down to blows! Poppy was in for a fight!
With her growth furthered, the Grass-type gained a certain understanding that showed in it's gaze. Leaning down it bit into the wet grass, tearing out a clump and tossing it into the air. The action was followed cloely by her tucking and rolling off to one side. She'd give the Ember something to burn up that wasn't herself! There were still a great deal of things she didn't know about yet, but survival was now deeply ingrained!
Tony had taken a decent hit by Ledbya. "Tony! Stay strong!" Zander reassured his pokemon. This was proving to be a difficult battle, however Zander and Tony would continue in this fight. "Tony, fairy wind!"
Tony rebounded after the Ledyba's attack and sent another gust of Fairy Wind towards the Ledyba.

Unlike the Magby before it though, this one wouldn't be content to stand still and breath black smoke. A mischievous glint in her gaze, she'd call out to them ">So you want a piece of me eh~?<" She inked ">I'm not sure you can afford it!<" The next moment she was running, her stubby legs taking her at a surprisingly quick pace. At her rear, the Magby's tail beganj to glow a dull silver ">Luckily I take payments in pieces of your hide!<" The next instant she turned, throwing her weight around as she went for a hip-check of an Iron Tail!
It was an good attempt to avoid the attack, but it probably worked more against than for. As the little bits of grass would only be partially successful. It would keep the worst of the embers away as only a few would touch her.
Better yet, it would work as a good distraction as Phoenix failed to notice what her own flames had done. Instead, she found herself enchanted by the little sparklers that was created from the bits of burning grass.
"Like that huh?"
He would tell her as she floated around his legs in a circle showing her happiness. She was completely enjoying it.

If the Larvesta enjoyed sparkles and colours, oh boy was she in for a treat at the Sunkern turned a bright shade of green this time. that wasn't the end of it however. This time the same colour would begin to cover Pheonix in the form of small bubbles beading her skin and hair. As the bubbles grew, drawing back to the Grass-type however, the bug would feel progressively weaker. The Sunkern was sucking away her life to regain what the Larvesta had taken from her. Absorb was tricky business!
Shiloh saw it and he grin. There was a reason he had been disappointed in Valiant's lost of flames, the fire itself that the bug pokemon spew was also a form of protection. Phoenix didn't have that problem, as the bubble that would try to absorb energy from her would start to expand and pop before any damage could be done.
Literally, it would be like blowing too much hot air into a balloon.
The resulting pop would scary her, and the little pokemon would lash out in surprise as she would naturally shot off a few embers in an attempt to drive away what had scared her. The flames a threat maybe to a dry forest, but a place that this...it was a safe, especially since the dries pieces of grass around was the pokemon around.
Shiloh didn't even need to call out an attack this time as the ember was sent out and forwards towards their opponent.

Shiloh was getting cocky again, something one would have thought he'd learned not to do after the first two deaths of his starter. Alas, some character faults never changed. Seeing as the grass hadn't worked before, this time the Sunkern would attempt to defend herself by ducking behind a tree.
It missed, and though Shiloh should have seen it coming, he had somehow forgotten. This was a forest full of trees, so eventually, the pokemon would duck behind one.
That meant, it was going to be much harder to attack it, because, his pokemon wasn't exactly attacking. She was reacting, and he wasn't sure with her bashful nature if he could manage to convince her of doing such a thing.
This battle had took a huge turn for the worst, and it hadn't taken more than the pokemon finally stepping out of range.
Once the little bit of panic was done, she would move behind him as Shiloh would sigh hugely.
She was near tears at the frightening sound, and had gone back to being extremely shy. She would pretty much burrow into his side, and the boy would reach over to gather her in his arms.
This battle was pretty much over, and he knew it. To press it any further was stupid, because there was no way she would chase after the pokemon. Besides, she was scared and timid enough at this stage that there was no way he could convince her to do what she didn't want to.
That was the problem with babes, so he made his decision as he calls out loudly.
