Adele finally worked out that Rue was following her. "Stay away!" she ordered him mentally. "Stay away from me!"

Rue abruptly stopped. He watched her leave sadly.

Adele finally stopped at the end of a dark alley. She slumped against the wall and began sobbing. "Rue, I'm so sorry," she sobbed.
