After a short, but needed nap on the covers of Rex's new bed. He creaked his eyes open and forced himself to get up. He didn't want to throw off his internal clock, even if he wouldn't ever have any appointments again. Rex came to his feet and decided to go check out the town hall again to see if anyone else had made it back alright. He made his way to the door and once more thanked the heavens for putting him on the bottom story.

Once outside, Rex saw Avery wandering around down the road. Glad to see he made it! "Avery! Yo, Avery!"

She had bathed, a long hot bath, and another nap later she awoke with a happy little puurr. Somehow her rabbit was on the floor again. She shook her head, healways got back, even if she didn't look for him. She giggled and slipped from her sheets, her long jet black hair rolling down her back, it was clean and twig free for the first time in two months and she looked happy, her fur sparkling shinily. Bouncig to her dresser she pulled out one of her many tops that Aubrey had given her and slipped it on over her head, it was the one with the kitties on the front, she felt strangely connected to those kitties. She neglected to put anything else on though pulling her hair out from beneath the top. It was just uncomfortable there.

She bent down and rubbed ehr bunny between his ears "bring back food" she states with a possitive nod and pads out of ehr duplex. She had taken to walking on ehr toes well, taking long, easy strides in to the villiage. She wasn't about to say no to some more food. Two months without a proper meal made ehr wantt o fill up constantly.

Of course, ehr beeline for the cafeteria was interrupted as she spiotted two, now familiar people, smelling cleaner than they had before, but they still had the underlying scents of the people she recognised "Avery, Rex!" she calls padding over rather swiftly and giving them both a quick glomping hug before she stood with her tail wriggling happily. Things had certainly improoved over the last day and a half. Her snotty nose had all but faded away leaving behind only the usual happy go lucky Colche, with a slighty sore tail bone.

Avery looked up when he heard someone call his name, and grinned. "Rex!" He jogged over to the other man, giving him a quick hug. "It's good to see you, I'm glad you made it here... it's nice to finally be back in civilization, huh?" He grinned. He was in a much better mood, even though he hasn't been able to shower yet. A good night's sleep in clean clothes on a real bed certainly helps.

"Colche!" Avery hugged her back when she hugged him. "I'm glad you're here safe too!" He noticed she still wasn't wearing pants, but she was at least wearing a top this time. Well, that's a start. He was already used to the fact she didn't wear clothes, so it didn't bother him really.

"Hey, Colche!" Rex said eagerly after being nearly taken out by her glomping hug. "Did Aubrey take you back to your duplex to get soem sleep?" He chuckled at her outfit, a shirt with kitties on it and not much else. He couldn't help big get a giant ol' smile whenever he was around this girl. If anyone else, including himself, ran around the island buck naked, people'd look at them weird. But Colche's cuteness seemed to help her get away with everything.

Rex hugged Avery back tightly, "Nice threads, bud. I take it you found your duplex all right." Rex hadn't checked to see if there were any other clothes in his duplex. The people that ran the island new his name, he wouldn't be surprised if they'd taken the liberty to get him some clothes as well. "Hungry? I've already eaten, but the meal was sort of.. interupted."

Colche smiled broadly and nodded "yup, baf, bed, n Aubrey goed, but comin back later, promised" she smiled broadly at the mention of food "chocolate cake, cafeteria" she stated with a huge, kittyish grin. Somehow she could still smile prettily despite her changes. Though keeping all that jet black hair and gaining fur of course helped. The usually rather sombre looking chetah face though was always split in a smile even thoug black tear lines streacked from her eyes to her lips.

Her long tail swayed behind ehr and she grinned in a rather, challanging way suddenly "Race!" she stated a glimemr in ehr eyes, she loved to race, the cheetah loved to run and che loved to win her short races with people. She had beaten Lily in a race, but Lily only had short legs, she wnated to find out if she could beat these two, longer legged men. She was certainly becoming competetive, even if it was the cheetahs love to run that was making her that way.

Avery blinked, looking confused. "What do you mean, my duplex? I don't have a duplex... I stayed the night with Awen. She let me borrow some of her PJs." Did that mean Rex was discovered by the doctors, and was given a duplex..? "Anyway, yeah, I'm starved... I could go for some real food. I heard there was a cafeteria around here, know where it is?"

Avery grinned at Colche when she said she wanted to race. "I would race, but I have no idea where I'm going! You would win for sure!" he chuckled.

He didn't know. how was Avery going to handle the fact that they were officially stuck here, for all they'd know they were doomed from the start because of all this sketchy business about the island closing down but people still changing. Rex put a hand on Avery's shoulder and said, "We've got duplexes," he pointed to the duplex next to his and upstairs, "There. It was your name on the door, I saw it earlier..."

"A race? All right.." Rex couched down to assume the runner's starting position. I'm so screwed, he thought to himself. Even his long legs didn't stand a chance against the cheetah's, but he'd still give it a shot. "Ready... set? GO!"

Colche was away like an arrow from a bow, her long strides aided by her balancing tail let her almost fly through the air without making any trip ups.She didn't even look back to see if the guys were following her,.. The sheer rush of racing, of running made her forget everything but the target. The target this time of course, was the cafeteria. It was a good target after all it was where all the food was. Her mouth stayed tightly shut as she reeled around the corner, the cafeteria doiors in view,. She still hadn't looked back but she couldn't hwear any foot steps close by. she was going to win. The chetah loved to win and colche wasn't too far behind in the elation of winning the race.

The cafeteria was rather silent, except for the sound of metal utensils sliding against the plates. It was the tail end of the woman's breakfast, and she was cutting up the last bit of her pancakes.

She was showered and clean, a healthy tan glowing under her tattoos, pale skin long gone from the months she had spent living on the beach. Antony's faded bangs were clipped back and out of her face. A haircut was definately on the list of s**t she needed to get done.

Other than that, Antony looked as she generally did: jeans, flip-flops, and a white tank top. All were clean, just like her.

Her lap top was on the table as well, but she had long finished reflecting on all the s**t that had happened and it therefore it was now off. Instead, Antony held a letter that had been folded and refolded several times.

Brow furrowed, she absently reached for her pack of cigarettes while she read, and reread the letter.

It was the letter that had started it all for her.

My name was on a door..? I have a duplex? But that's impossible... how do they know my name? How do they know I'm here!? Avery couldn't believe it was true. It made no sense. He only met other islanders, not any of the doctors. Did that mean one of the islanders he met could have been one of the doctors..? He didn't think any of them seemed like doctors... but on an island like this, Avery figured it wouldn't be strange for doctors to do experiments on themselves.

Avery didn't know how to respond; he watched Colche run off and Rex try to keep up after her. Not wanting to be left behind, Avery ran after them, trying to keep up. "Hey... wait up for me!"

Colche had made it to the cafeteria far before Rex, and he was a relatively fast runner to begin with. He eventually made it to the double doors of the building and tagged the handle, panting. "It's because of that cat you've got in you." He joked, then pushed open the doors to inside and allowed the girl to go ahead in front of him and continued to hold it for Avery to walk through too.

Once inside, he saw a woman and it took him a minute to register who is was, "Antony?" He couldn't see her too well that night on the beach, but the sunlight that flooded the cafeteria easily distinguished her full figure, now. "Hey! I'm glad to see you made it back safe." He went to the girl with his arms outstretched for a hug.

Colche giggles happily ducking under rex's arm and bouncing in to the Cafeteria happily, though she did pant for a minute. Cheetahs were fast runners but they could only go so far without becoming exhausted. Spotting Antony as rex did she waved a clawed hand but went to get some scoff before plopping her furry butted self down next to her.

She waited, partially descreetly , munching what she had on her plate. She wasn't THAT hungry so a good chunk of chocolate cake and a tuna mayonase sandwich were all she had. An unusual meal for the usually bottomless pit that was Colche.

She waited for Antony to sit back down. She needed to thank the girl. Aubrey was indeed alive and Antony had said so, she wanted to tell her straight out but Rex was busy with her. She turned her blue eyed gaze on her plate nibbling at half of the sandwich suddenly deep in quiet thought about one thing or another. She was starting to feel a bit of an outcast since her latest change, like she should be with all these people ven though the girl in her longed for company and aceptance. She just wasn't like them and knew it, she wanted to learn but would she ever be like them? Thoughts like that were too much over a tuna sandwich and a chunk of chocolate cake so she made sure to eat them before returning to her deep thinks. She longed to voice her worres, but her vocabulary, just, wouldn't allow it.

Emerwyn woke once more, leaning still against the side of the cafeteria, now completely sore. No one had seen or woken her, until now. She heard voices, and the pounding of feet on the ground. She got up slowly, muscles groaning, and saw three figures dash one after the other into the cafeteria.
She followed suit, only much slower, practically hobbling towards the doors.
When she entered, she saw a small crowd of new faces.
And... was that Colche? She looked more like an animal than ever now, almost naked. But now, in her current form, she had more of an excuse. It wamed Emerwyn's heart to see her.
The others were all completely human... She wondered vaguely when they had arrived.
All of them were fresh and clean. Well clothed.
Emerwyn looked herself over. She hadn't returned to her room. Her fur and skin were filthy, her coat tattered. It was buttoned up, covering her undergarments.
Her bare feet were frozen on the cold, industrial floor.
She made her way towards them tentatively, dwelling outside the group.

Avery waited impatiently for Rex to greet the tattooed woman. She seemed to be completely human... she must not have been on the island very long, then. Was she injected, too?

The food smelled so good, but he had to get this straight first... when Antony and Rex finished hugging, Avery grabbed Rex's arm. "Hey, what do you mean you saw my name on a door? How the hell is that possible? Nobody knows we're on the island except for other... uh, animal people. The whole idea that the people on this island know his name, know that he is here and he has never even met them before was freaking him out. Does that mean he was stuck here forever!?

"Were you found by one of the doctors? Did you... tell them about me, too? Is that how they know!?"
