"Then knowing that, I'll give what time I have for you. Malik has me doing a lot after all."

"Granted he was less than hospitable to us and started it all. But frankly I don't have enough acid to sink an island more or less, and I'm dealing with something that I'm not familiar with. Rock golems that consume energy and reform at will. Short of going to extremes and sinking all of Lucana, I'm going to ask you. Have an idea on how to deal with something as such or am I merely to sink Lucana." And then Andal and everything connected to it was going to suffer some serious consequential change because of all of this.

Speakinf of Sevilin, he was coming back into the place quite grumpy, clothes smoking some and half charred. Obviously he'd been someplace exciting. "I hate quakes." An angry chitter from his tunic agreed with him.

Malik looked between the two for a moment, before settling in his chair.

"I'm going to need a little more information...anything you can give me on this traveler, and what these golems look like. and the nature of the 'less then hospitable' actions on this travelers part. I'm not about to just let you sink Lucana into the oceans...So I'll offer what help I can provided I can at all. I'll call Wist in for us, he's the expert in conjurations."

a light brushing of fingers over malvolence for that command and for now listening to what they were going to have to say.

"He wanted the knowledge of rune magery and Ty wouldn't give it to him. He went down to the Depths and attempted to gain the information there, then began using harsh actions with Ty so that he could have what he desired. The rock golems look for magical energy that they consume and use to build their power. They are intelligent enough to consume each other and build into one main force or to break objects down to get to the magical energy within. I broke one's arm off and he reformed the stub into a club. This is not an easy enemy we're dealing with."

Zahara was a bit amused. "I'm not sure I can fix those but Lyssie probably can. That or make you some new ones." Shaking her head and leaning back against her chair. "I take it you were fortifying things?"

"IHe is also skilled in apperance mimicry and tried to kill Valeessen. We don't know where he came from. Only his magic signature and in the end I dealed with him. Piece of knowledge for him to disappear and undo all he did. However that was foolish of me and now I have this problem. I thought that I could easily solve this problem but after a few episodes of bleeding and such, it's proving more difficult. This thing is stripping the mines clean, and killing elves, and I can't let it leave Lucana. If I can't wipe it out itself...I'll wipe it out along with the rest of the continent."

The tone of his voice said that he wasn't playing about that either. He would do it if he had to and deal with the consequences when they came. "I've seen many things, but I'm not worldly traveled on all magical practices. I bring what was once the secrets of my own former plane." Shaking his head lightly however. "Not only that...but we'll have to discuss at length your ties to Andal when this has passed."

He plopped down at the table, giving an annoyed look when he noticed the others that were there before he brushed a little smoldering gravel from his shoulder and Nym crawled out of his tunic and to the table to scrap forage. "Nothing to fortify, only investigate. The plates are slipping."

Wist came in the room about that time, and calpped his hands lightly.

"golems you say? what do they look like? they reform adn eat magic? do tell do tell."

Malik waved him off a moment, before turning his attention back to the rest.

"You said he forced a portal open. outside of here, and a few other very select locations. it would be difficult enough to even find the way to Andal, let alone force something open. and he knew about your runics, he came looking for them."

This was not sounding good. not at all.

"Skilled in conjuration, and illusions. any other schools of magic? how did he attempt to kill Vale..or get the information from you? I imagine you didn't write it down in a book and hand it to him."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 01, 2009 9:43 pm

"We came to the conclusion that he must have followed a signature trail from one of the trips you and your group have made. There have been an increasing number of them over the years and if anyone was watching in specific...well, it wouldn't have taken them long to latch on. That doesn't mean we're blaming you, but the traffic could have triggered something. Either that or he just got lucky. He knew there was some kind of governing body on the plane and he wanted the ins and outs of that. Then he found out that Ty had a specific type of magic and that caught his attention. And to him knowledge is power. That's what he kept saying. Knowledge is power."

Shaking her head. "If these golems can't be beaten, they might be designed to overtake the plane and do his dirty work without him ever lifting a finger. We can't let that happen and our own fortifications won't hold them forever. We need a solution and we need one now. If you can't give it to us, then we've wasted our time coming here and we must respectfully depart ten minutes ago."

"Investigate what?" Scooping Nym off the table and picking debris out of his fur. "Plates do that. Did something disturb them or was it natural shifting and processes. Information, man. Don't be closed mouthed about things like this. I swear I'll smack you with my spoon."

"By the time this is over, no one will be able to find Andal, even those that know about it." While Lhia was being blunt he did agree on time constraints. It made him ancy to be away from his home and knowing that something bad was happening there while he was gone. The little gnome did annoy himself...he couldn't make it anymore clearer. "They look like rocks in various configuration, they consume magic and metals and what not." Letting his eyes move back up to Malik rather than the other. "I'm not sure what he did to Valeessen. The boy was in an amount of pain that was practically mind boggling...it had something to do with a scroll. As for his information seeking...he popped right into my head and took what I would allow." Now when he found that man, he was going to break his spine in serveral places.

"Large cracks in the ground, radiating heat and not in the pleasant way." Watching Nym as he flopped to his belly on her arm and stretched out for Zahara. "Don't be short with me. I should be the one being short with you. However, it looks liek maybe both. Natural movement perhaps accelerated by someone or something. The plates usually don't move enough for us to notice. Now they are.

Malik got himself up and walked over to one of the shelves with some older books, and plucked one down, flipping through it a moment and placing it on the desk.

"Mind boggling pain...pain that sears the mind and the body. looks like a fever at first. they twitch, they spasm, they scream and distort themselves, right? and when you try to remove it, it looks like hundred of thin spidersilk strands all criss-crossed acorss the body, like they are in the process of being cocooned by them, am I right?"

looking over to wist a moment.

"Summon a golem of Takish'Hiz, Wist. see if that's what they are dealing with. and if it is, we know whom, don't we."

Wist gave what would pass for a solemn look to Malik, and glanced at the other two elves. He didn't want Malik to be right. or at least not in the persona he was hinting.

but he did what he was told, and up came the granite hulking golem, practically identical to the form after they had canabalised eachother.

"This the golem type?"

"You have no reason to be short with me. I haven't done anything wrong." Focusing on Nym's fur because she couldn't quite meet his eyes. Besides he didn't look so great right now. "You should probably get yourself cleaned up."

"Obviously you know more than you are letting on but this is no laughing matter, Malik. These beasts have already murdered elves in Farhian. Elves that were doing nothing more than going to work for another day in the mines." She nodded impatiently to Malik's description of things and waited for him to get one with the show. "It is. Except now he has a club for an arm because I happened to lop off his original. Now, how can we get rid of it? Everything we've tried hasn't worked and they are gaining power and going to cause much more chaos in their search for magical signature energy."

All he made back in response were a few noises under his breath before he gave a look to those at the table. Why did they have to have company? Sure he didn't live here but he had to come here everyday. "I think I will." Thusly getting himself up and heading to where their room here was.

"Yes, you're right and yes that is." He wanted to think that Malik and his companion knew so much just because they were well traveled however he had a feeling in the back of his head that that wasn't the case. Names and all. Sure he had to come begging and knew he'd probably never live it down but if Malik did know so much, perhaps it was for the better.

Malik frowned lightly and nodded to wist who dismissed his pet and left hurriedly.

"I'll give you everything I can. This is probably my fault in the first place. the only one I know with that myriad a set of arcane knowledge, power and talent is Miragul. a lich from my home plane...obsessed with magical knowledge and arcane items. you can't kill him, you can't destroy him but temporarily."

looking through his book again.

"Golems such as those were constructed to last beyond their creator, if there is some kind of magic to sustain them. the elves of takish'hiz were dying rapidly and needed a way to keep thier golems active past death in their vain attempt to unbury themselves from the ro desert. I had sevilin sometime ago help me with a portal similar to your gates for my dealings with Norrath. odds are miragul learned of it, or sensed it, and just plied with the magical energies until he came across you."

Closing the book.

"And as this could very much be my fault, I'll deal with the problem. to counter these things you have to feed them. they are designed to feed, build, and protect whatever they are assigned to. but you overload them...overfeed them, so to speak, and they shatter. their bodies aren't meant to store energy beyond what it takes to fufill their functions."

"Wist will provided you with devices for it, and I will send materials to help counter Miragul's abilities with your gates. He may be immortal and possess a massive amount of knowledge and power, but he dabbles in everything. specialization does offer some advantages. particularly with translocation abilities. I'll also looks to my contact point on norrath, see if it's been tampered with. I thought I had put it in a very secure location...perhaps not as secure as I'd hoped."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 15, 2009 8:24 pm

“I don't have time for you to be ready to deal with them. We can take care of our own problems if we know how.” Tyyrael was overly defensive about this but he couldn’t help it too much. He was seeing past mistakes being made and he knew how they turned out if not dealt with. He’d die from overloading each and every one of these things if he had to.

“You don’t have to worry about my Gates. No one will be using them anymore for they will cease to exist.” He had put some very serious thought into this all and had made his decision. It was much easier to limit and restrict or wipe a plane’s location off the map so to speak this way. He’d deal with access of certain people later. His plane was more important in survival than meager pleasantries.

"Correction. you have time...because you will make time, because this will take weeks and months of work down to days. conjuration is Wist's forte' and he knows exactly what he's doing. you can wait thirty minutes to get what you need to destroy these things in quick, massive order."

Glancing at him a lingering moment.

"shutting down your gates isn't going to solve your problem, Tyyrael. in fact, shutting it all off is likely to draw more attention then you'd think. friend in other planes will worry, and they demand to know what is going on, and they'll do what they have to to force it open for that reason. mages like miragul will wonder what your hiding."

"You can't predict everything. even I can't and I can literally read minds. and, had a certain pair of royals informed me of this when I asked if there was anything amiss, your supplies would probably be ready now. after all I can't see Fianna not knowing something if it got this bad that your wanting to shut down your gates."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 15, 2009 8:49 pm

"And in thirty minutes I could have havoc on my hands as well." But Tyyrael merely frowned bordering a glare at the other elf whom was trying to talk him out of things he had already made his mind up on. "It can draw all the attention it wants. Andal used to have no connections. It did fine and no one bothered us. We didn't have to worry about these kinds of things. I thought it would be okay to let the younge elves wander and leave as they pleased. Requests as such turned into greater and greater manners until I gave all a way to come and go if they knew where to look. But as the years have gone by, it has started to bring nothing but chaos and I will not have it."

His jaw tightened for a moment before he continued. "I will not see Andal go to ruin like my own home did. I am a hair's width away from a plane war on my hands if the results do not go well of this. I can keep everything out. It is what happens within that should be my only concern." Shaking his head. "No one knows. I don't broadcast the problems across plane if I can solve them."

Tilting his head at Malik. "Would you like to go tell Kieran that he has no home to go to? That his mother is dead? His best friend? Gods forbid Lharika if she's in the wrong place at the wrong time? Because that is how this will go if I have to make it go. I would do it without a second thought it I had to. You make me wait thirty minutes...you have one chance to help. One chance, or you can console Kieran yourself."

"I'd kill you, Tyyrael, before you did it and we both know I can. even if it meant sacrificing Sevilin or Zahara to do it."

rubbing his temples lightly.

"chaos is a natural thing. it happens here, it happens on andal, it happens everywhere. you can close down your gates all you want. you'll have to deal with the clamoring, angry, potentially violent outbursts from younger elves that want to go to the places their parents and their friends have been."

looking at him a moment.

"Your body couldn't withstand the energy release you'd have to use to get the same results Wist will get you. for this to work, you have to find all thier 'nests'. you place the devices, they all go off at once. plane wide golem destruction. even your vaunted runics, while they are capable, would kill you to do it mostly because you'd have to feed every one of them to the self destruction point all at once or what you've really done is just started over and watch it build up again.. and I doubt your children, or their mother would want that to happen over waiting half an hour."

Malik watched him a moment longer.

"Trust my judgment on this one. I know what I'm asking, I know the consequences that may come of it. it's a calculated risk on the information you've presented. I know I'm brash, I come off as arrogant, and I have caused you plenty of trouble before. but have I ever not done what I said I was going to? have I ever started a task I didn't finish?"
