Let the annual ant invasion begin. I swear, no matter how much we spray the house, I still wake up with them crawling on me. It is so disgusting! There must be a crack in the floor somewhere, they're escaping the heat or something. Frick, just flicked one off of me writing this message! scream
Anyways, hows everyone elses lives? I've got dance stuff this weekend, so probably not a whole lot of posting from me.

The Mary Sue test does not fail. If anyone actually read the top part they would realize that they just compiled very common traits found in Mary Sues. It is not their fault if your character has a lot of these traits they just compiled a list NOTE: I AM NOT SAYING YOUR CHARACTER IS A MARY SUE SO DON'T EVEN THINK IT. They also said that if the character is well written then there is no problem with it being a Mary Sue.
It is an interesting test to take and I would actually recomend it. It is kinda a guage on an idea that you may think is awesome but really might be heading into Sue territory. I think that it provides an impartial point of view on things that will let you see and maybe rethink a few things.

The Mary Sue test IS a fail. I've taken this test many times, I've found it YEARS ago before this whole thing came up in the OOC. Each time I find that it doesn't account for character growth and there are just too many things that it doesn't have, especially when it comes to detractors.
Also, it's not an "impartial point of view." It's easy to manipulate the test in your favor. Say if you character is, oh I don't know, a self-insert. There are many questions that deal with it, but it's easy to disregard if you are the one taking the test.
If anything Sues are interesting and when they lose Sue-ish traits through character development they become even better character via character growth.
To conclude: I find the test incomplete, easily manipulated, and therefore fairly pointless.
