"It sure is!" Schnerkel agreed happily. "And it's really good!" she commented after her first taste, "Do you make cookies a lot?" Then an idea came to Schnerkel's mind, "Maybe we can shape them like hearts for the masters and mistresses?"

I agree, heart shaped cookies should be welcomed by all the young masters and misses even though Valentine's Day is over. Cookies mean love all year long!
(OOC: I didn't know the Pear closes. When will it be? Also, terribly excited to be sorted soon! I wonder which house I'll be in... Or should I say 'witch house?' lol!)

DaBonster I agree, heart shaped cookies should be welcomed by all the young masters and misses even though Valentine's Day is over. Cookies mean love all year long! (OOC: I didn't know the Pear closes. When will it be? Also, terribly excited to be sorted soon! I wonder which house I'll be in... Anneko hopes she got back in on time! Anneko makes cookies whenever she has the time and the ingredients-- and enough room in the kitchen to work, of course! Sometimes it is more important to make nutritious food, and sometimes meals take a lot of work and space, but Anneko would rather make cookies and cakes.
(when does the Pear close, if I might jump on that question?)

Schnerkel jumped at the idea of the other elves making shaped cookies too. "We could make all sorts of cookies too," she considered as she pulled a pile of cookie cutters out from a cabinet. Schnerkel started with a few heart shaped cookies, but then cut out some star and flower shaped ones too.
(Oh and DaBonster, sorry about the one girl yesterday! Apparently she has a thing for muffins... stressed )

The newest edition to the kitchen lumbered in wearily. Daz was ready to be sorted. Had been for years. His wand was tucked into his belt, for easy access. This particular being was not the nicest, Oh no. He always looked to see how things might benefit him instead of others. He was a proud pure-blood. Occasionally he was a bit more forgiving than most Slytherin. He identified Slytherin as his own house already. His ancestors since as long as he could remember were Slytherin. He supposed that was because they were all descendants of Salazar. He would put aside his pure-blood superiority for a while, just to finish this menial house elf trick.
Dazereth approached what seemed to be the head house elf. "Instructor, What will you have me do?" He asked politely, his previous thoughts diminishing.

Daz cocked his head to regard the newcomer. "Hello, I suppose I am well enough. I am ready to be done here. Perhaps you can help" He watched her warily. His first interaction at hogwarts needed to be a good one.

I have been a busy elf lately. Cooking, cleaning, elf lessons. I go for some games sometimes.
(OOC: work and school. sigh.)

Oh, and Daz, have you been to the classrooms? Elves have homework, too. Nice to meet you!

Dazereth merely sighed. "I have not been to the classes yet. I would assume I am to be a peon until I have met the requirements to be sorted. How droll." He flippantly rolled his eyes. His exuberance about hogwarts was dying. He was fairly tired of being this subservient 'elf'. While he understood its necessarily for the lesser classes he did not feel one such as himself should be objected to such menial tasks. Yet once again Daz held is tongue.

Schnerkel squeaked softly as a master entered the kitchens. She was about to offer a few of the cookies they had made earlier when she noticed DaBonster start talking to him. Sighing in relief that she would not have to work for the master - for she was afraid to anger him - Schnerkel went back to cutting out more cookies. As she did though, she heard an elf complaining about their extra work. "Oh well they aren't bad at all," she offered up quickly in hopes of encouraging him, "You learn all sorts of different things that will help you once you're a student. Like where everything is, how you can ask questions, and things like that!"

Dazereth nearly scoffed at the woman. "If you say so" He yawned and went about the begrudging task assigned to him. Making meals for mud-bloods and squibs. Salazar would turn in his grave if he knew. "I'd just like to get past this as quickly as I can. I have better things to learn about aside from how to bake a damned cake." A glimpse of the Slytherin's attitude manage to peek through the statement. He went back to the task at hand, mumbling. "Blasted cake...Dirty blood...Father....not pleased"

You know, being an elf is a great way to make friends from other houses. You might not have that chance otherwise.
*DaBonster makes an assumption based on Daz's behaviour and language*
For instance, you and I would not have met if we weren't both elves, since I do not plan on being sorted into Slytherin. And even though we have *drastically* different opinions, I'm sure we can all find some common ground.
*Proceeds to annoy Daz with terribly cheerful expression* biggrin
