[Sanity_is_for_the_Weak] That's a bummer but I guess they can be used for a little extra firepower plus a flesh screen. They're pretty much just like Kroot, aside from being Guardsmen. Cheap and better in hand to hand.

Babbalui If you read your codex, it tells you about how the Tau talked some outlining imp guard-occupied worlds into fighting for the greater good. I'm pretty sure you are allowed to use the Laemon Russ, but nothing else tank-wise. Nope. Human Auxiliraries are foot troops only. Flak armored, basic Guardsmen, with the option for two Tau infantry weapons and EMP grenades. They're really only useful as a cheap EMP delivery device. Even then, there are better ways to take down vehicles in the Tau list.

on the warhammer websites they tell you how to make a guardsmen army that is part of the Tau Empire 3nodding
The Tau don't tend to work much with the humans.. but prefer to let them do as they wish and come to fight when they are asked to. From what i read, whole regiments of guardsmen turned to the greater good, though they never actually betrayed the emperor, the still believe in him like any other loyal guardsmen they just don't like the form of government, they believe it to be to corrupt. Thats why the fight for the greater good 3nodding . Rather interesting if ya ask me mrgreen .

Babbalui Hmmm, I thought that you could have tanks from the imp guard? That's a bummer. sweatdrop well yah you can if your from the imperialguardsmen tau setup view, tau can't take humans as they distrust them and don't like them. It will probably take time for trust to build like it did with vespid and kroot.. even though tau still dislike the kroot for there... canabilizim sweatdrop .. icky crying anyway, the humans are supplied with some weapons from the tau if you take them with a tau army, but with a guardsmen army they tend to use their own weapons, pretty much the standard lasgun and what the water caste give them through black market channels xd mainly heavy weapons such as lascannons, heavybolters, mortars... you get the point. Anyway if whole regiments turned to the greater good they probably still have some tanks and such.. not nearly as many as the imperium as they can't produce any more since they don't have the tech to do so.

Tau can have Human Auxilleries. Chapter Approved, so I'm under the impression they require permission from the opponant. Seems to me like it's only men though. No elites, no tanks. I'm sure I said that before though...
The Humans in the Tau forces are used mainly on the outer edges, where they were abandoned by the Imperium or otherwise defected. They don't "not trust" the Tau, nor do they "continue the Emperor's duty", just understanding it to be the Greater Good. They fight because they feel that the Tau ideology is better ad truer than Imperial doctrine.

-Mykal I know that ^_^... and the humans still believe in the emperor... they distrust the government.. i have a few other sources then gamesworkshop 3nodding .. but I not in the mood for any type of debate... ugh my poor sternum crying .. anyway, the bottom line is.. tau imperial guard can be useful as they less expensive.. but also they not best used vs an imperial army.. as the imperial armies view them as traitors.. and on warhammer 40k itself it has unorthodox doctorines ^_^, they contain various.. unique forms of guardsmen group, including.. a group of chaos guardsmen.. called blood.. claws or something, a tyanid genestealer cult, hive gansters... including a tecpriest set up army, you know one full of tech servitors and everything, as well as the tau setup ^_^, they are really good 3nodding

Andreis I see nothing mentioned about opponents permission.. http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/tau/gaming/auxilliary/chap_tau_auxiliaries.htm
I'm going off the understanding that if it's not in the Codex, like Titans, Kroot Mercs, or VDR, then it's best to ask the opponant.

I might actually use them, they would indeed serve as expendable, cheap, shock troops. Definitely a better loss than a skilled firewarrior, pathetic humans.

... the tau empire views everything importaint, they don't sacrafice units.. thats not how they fight, unlike the imperium they have only a small handful of planets compaired to the imperiums vast well... space... they can't risk doing things like that or else they will die out... but then in a warhammer table top you can do what ever you damned near well wanted to ^_^
