Alexi Terianis Caleidah [Sanity_is_for_the_Weak] As much as I'd like Tyranids to be in it, I really want Chaos to return, they're too big to be left out.
I'm gonna guess that the one that the Farseer killed was a Chaos Marine. Therefore, Chaos is -already- involved unofficially. And you're right. They're too big of a player to be left out.Actually, that was a blood raven. Imperials.
Ah, well scratch that. My mistake.

Fancy.
Not sure how I feel about seeing just those three. They'll probably throw those at us, though. And 'nids.
Four races is enough for any one game, I think. So pretty much everything else will likely be expansions.

And yes, they definitely do. The Wraithsword was a welcome looking piece of gear for the Wraithlord, and that means that they'll be that much more nasty in CC.

I absolutely loved that trailer.
However, I don't like the Dreadnaught in it. It just sorta busts out of nowhere and snatches up the Howling Banshees, as though they'd not notice a twenty foot tall giant machine busting out of apparently solid rock and not try to get away. Well, the reason I don't like it is because it's Deus ex Machina, which I highly dissaprove of.
At any rate, I'm betting on Tyranids, and I don't think that Chaos has to be in it. There are plenty of battles that have occured without Chaos showing up.

Chaos is a staple of the Warhammer Universe! It is the sworn arch-enemy of the Imperium, and it is fitting for the campaign.

Yeah...the Dreadnought seems to be a bit like the "Okay, and there's a dragon in the room" situation in D&D.

[Sanity_is_for_the_Weak] Chaos is a staple of the Warhammer Universe! It is the sworn arch-enemy of the Imperium, and it is fitting for the campaign. So... what you're saying is that if the campaign is based on the Tyranids invading a system, it would be fitting for Chaos to just pop up out of nowhere, especially since the Hivefleet has a 'psychic shadow' which sort of blots out the warp where 'ere it may be at? confused

You make a very viable point. Of course, why then are the Space Marines and Eldar there?

You make a good point, Xenos. I'd be interested in seeing how the Eldar respond to that, especially since they're so psychically inclined.
As a sidenote, though. What happens if a hivefleet makes it to the Eye of Terror? Would the Tyranid Darkness still be in place there? That's an interesting thing to consider. So much psychic energy, so much dampening...

Well, Eldar are there to prevent the Tyranids from absorbing the planet or recovering an artifact, or whatever it is Eldar do. The Blood Ravens either went there to protect the Imperial planet from the Eldar, or just happened to be nearby, or where there already on other business, perhaps clearing Orks from the planet. For that I suppose we'll have to wait and see.
As per the Eye of Terror, fluffwise it'll never happen, methinks. However, I can't really say. Necrons allegidly are already trying to build stuff to contain the Eye of Terror, but I don't know how well that's working. It'll probably just end up being some endless battle like when the Tyranids met up with that large Ork empire.

Xenos Mortium like when the Tyranids met up with that large Ork empire. This really scares me. What happens if one side wins? The galaxy ends.

Well no matter what the starting races are, I'm sure they'll all make it in there eventually. It's better we don't get them all at once, because we get more campaigns and improvements that way. D=
What I want to know is what the campaign right now will be, as original information pointed to it being Marines vs. Orks with both Orks and Marines being playable

I imagine that Eldar will be involved in the campaign somehow, if they aren't playable themselves. And Xenos, I'm saying that chaos has interests as well, maybe they are already in the area before the Tyranids showed up. Hell, it worked for the last two DoW expansions, where everyone just convened on one plant for no real reason.
