(( @Inu: Clothes are restricting! scream But the skin looks realistic, huh~ I keep on staring at my own masterpiece. @ RocketG: Do you want someone to go rescue them? )) Bapp pieced together the information in his head with his own style of logic.
Ah, so it's a guy that everyone knows but I've never met before that died. Like a president dying of a heart attack... Oh well.
He couldn't really be bothered to worry about every single person he didn't know personally dying. If he did he would've been a really depressed, boring guy.
The least I can do is pay my respects by... er... shutting up, I guess.
"Rumor? What? Like an arsonist or a terrorist within the Order that caused the explosion?" He asked.
'Only magic-users can cause an explosion like that...' Bapp thought to himself as he instinctively did a impression of a detective thinking while smirking.

Evelyn Evelyn held back the urge to giggle. She had a weak spot for gossip like this. But that's how she was raised, so why wouldn't she? Of course she didn't like to spread the bad like her mother...but gossip did make the world go round like her big sister said... Evelyn leaned in closer to the NOT top-hatted boy and began the story. "You see, the combat master had a friend--Cressa--that came here. No one's quite sure how she got here or how close they formerly have been. The rumors run as wild as childhood sweethearts to an illegitimate child. Personally, I think they used to have something, but that it's now a one-sided affair, what with Jessie having his favorite student, Coline." Here, Evelyn had to stifle another giggle. She only knew a little about the pair, but she had heard of Coline's probability to faint. "Cressa was seen fleeing the scene...along with Jessie. Lorika said some...unsavory things about the combat master which I dare not repeat, although my sources say that she retracted what she said. No one knows precisely of what Cressa is trained in...it's possible that she had something to do with it."
{{Well, yes, I agree, but it's not like I run around with my mid-drift showing. And yes, I do love it, Bapp. Very realistic.  }}

Bapp was closing his eyes and nodding every now and then as he listened.
Seems I missed out on a lot during my absence...
Suddenly, his eyes snapped open. A wide grin stretched across his face. "Sounds like a storyyyy~" He sang as he jumped back and pointed to the sky dramatically for a few seconds before sweeping it down and doing another pose.
"It's up to the heroes of justice to get down to the bottom of this!" He announced. Spinning around in his own childish stupor, he continued. "We'll need to ask those two Night-Elf dropouts and get the real story!" He stopped abruptly and snapped towards Evelyn's direction. "You're the pink ranger. And we can get that blue-haired kid that just walked off to be the blue ranger. I'm the red ranger. The leaders are always red. Oh wait, what am I doing?" He let out a nervous laugh. "I just got back and I'm up to my own nonsense. Hahaha..." He fell silent for awhile, before turning to Evelyn.
"Sorry about that. It's just that when something happens and there are a lot of questions left unanswered, I feel the sudden urge to try to fill in the blanks." Bapp turned away as his expression suddenly fell. "It's not nice when people like us are left in the dark..." He mumbled under his breath before turning back with his trademark grin.
"What about you? Aren't you curious about what really happened?"

 Evelyn  Evelyn watched the boy's theatrical display and morbidly laughed behind her hand. Although...when he mentioned finding the dark elves, she had the strongest urge to take him up on the offer. And of course, as soon as he mentioned her being the pink ranger, she was already imagining herself in the outfit--with a few minor changes of course. As Bapp continued his ramblings, Evelyn felt herself growing more and more inquisitive, which was strange. Shouldn't she have felt curious about it before? Had her grief so blinded her? She filed the thought away for later. "You know what? I am curious," she said with sudden vigor. "Why should I have to believe just what I've been told? You know what, we should--" she cut herself off suddenly, all of her former power leaving her. "But what could we do? Nothing. Nothing. We can't do anything." She continued her rant in French, angrily and without pause. "Vous êtes un enfant et Je...Je ne sais pas des mots. Et qui est-à-dire Lorika nous permettrait de les trouver? Et Pourquoi auraient-ils dire la vérité? Nous ne sommes pas une menace." {Translated, she is saying "You are a child and I ... I do not know the words. And who is to say Lorika would allow us to find them? And why should they tell the truth? We are not a threat." Sorry for taking so long, I've been...well, kidnapped a few times... Oh, and if anyone was wondering about the pink ranger Evelyn would be, here's the tektek. I couldn't resist.}}

Bapp was dumbfounded by her use of French near the end, but he snapped out of it.
"Don't decide what you can or cannot do by yourself! Some things, like this Panda guy dying, we can't fix, true, but do you honestly think mourning would fix anything?!" He yelled, determined to convince Everlyn otherwise. "Things happen, but we can't stop. If it's a big problem, we shoulder it and carry on!"
Bapp took a deep breath as he calmed down.
That's right, not being able to do anything is the worst feeling in the world. But if we can do something, we'd better...
"If you were the one dead, would you be happy watching people do nothing but mourn about your death? Not that I would know how that guy feels but..."(( Kidnapped? Would you like to learn some *does fancy moves* martial arts? ))

Evelyn While Bapp's logic and reasoning would have made sense for any other person who died, Panda was a distinct and strange person. It has seemed daily that he wanted all the Spellcasting students to be miserable. But he had said that he wanted them to succeed--not in so many words, but that was the jist of it...she thought. She could at least pretend to be happy again. She plastered a big smile on her face that even her best friend wouldn't be able to see through it. "You're right! Panda would want me to be happy." She inwardly cringed at this statement of not-so-truth. "In any case, as one of his students, I should want to solve his death!"
{{Oh, no. These are friend kidnappings. At least that's what they say...}}

Happy? Hm, this Panda must've been a really friendly guy for his students to think that he would want them to be happy after his death. I mean, it's still okay to be sad, just, not in despair.
Bapp smirked in response. "Alright! Let's go recruit people to our cause! The more people the better. What's the worst thing that could happen, other than finding out what we already know?"
For starters, I think a group of really responsible, smart, independent and mature people like me would do... I can't trust adults.
"Come, my dear Watson! We shall go bother the blue ranger and convince him to join our cause!" Bapp called to Evelyn as he ran off in the... general direction of the way the blue-haired kid ran.
(( Would you like to use *does fancier moves* martial arts on these kidnappers you call friends? biggrin And what time is it in the rp anyway? ))

Evelyn As soon as Evelyn heard "What's the worst thing that could happen" her mind was already picturing the combat master killing her in horrible ways. Just that title--"combat master"--scared her. Of course, she had dealt with people who were talented in many different forms of fighting, masters in them even. But a complete combat master? Scary. "Watson? Does that make me Jude Law? Does that make you Robert Downey Jr?" she said, but of course, the boy had already dashed off. Running to catch up, Evelyn grabbed the boy's arm. "I'm not sure that Xeiashi is up to the task right now..."

"Priestess," Lacine whispered, touching her lightly on the arm, "We should go inside."
Lorika started, glancing around with wide, water-logged eyes at the chestnut-haired girl. "Oh... yes... you're right. Good day, Xeiashi."
She inclined her head to the young boy, and as she and her companion made her way up the stairs the beginnings of the youngsters' exchange wafted up towards them.
"They're funny, aren't they?" Lacine smiled, looking back towards them.
"Hm? Oh, yes," Lorika replied absently, pushing open the door. "They're good children."
They made their way back to Lorika's room, where the green-haired lady picked up an unopened pair of letters from the top of her desk. She sat, Lacine coming up behind her to peer down at the familiar golden crest and printed script.
"Johnny's reply?"
Lorika nodded. "He wasn't there when I tried to visit in person. I left him the itemised list Xeiashi made, the architect's documents and an estimate."
Glancing through the letter, which was relatively short, she visibly relaxed. "Well, he's being very good about paying, as I knew he would be. These are practically pennies to him..."
After reading the letter in more detail, she sighed, tiredly swiveling around to look up into Lacine's face - who, for seemingly no reason, blinked and blushed. "But now I don't know whether he'd be willing to finance the Prince's suggested extensions... he seems to be implying that only replacing the damage done is on his agenda, and I don't want to push him - he's been far too generous already, and something tells me he knows it. Oh god, Lacine. What are we going to do?"

[12/11/09, or the day after the explosion. I say that because I probably got the date wrong] [around 5 in the morning] Nobody was awake, that was good. By the light of a small torch, a robed figure shifted and reshifted the rubble. Hoping for a glimpse of something to break the monotonous gray. A small scrap of fabric; a piece of silvery metal; even a hand. All were too much to ask. Nothing ruined the perfect blankness of the epicenter, nor even the ruined piles beyond.
But what was that? No, just the charred scrap of a book. And over there, that was a puddle from a leaky pipe. Look farther, there's the other half of the pipe, marking an area that was already searched.
At first it was easy, just lift and toss the rubble with your mind. Shortly after, the headaches came and put an end to that. Now it was all manual labor; wedge, lift, and roll. Countless masses had been moved in this manner, with countless more to go.
What was that? ...naught but a branch. It had looked suspiciously like an arm...
The light wavered suddenly, it was a good thing that he had found that stick. He reached for it, grabbed it, and touched its damp end to the wavering flame. "burn..." he whispered, accompanying it with a small transmutation to make it catch. Not a moment too soon; the first torch burnt out seconds later. The headache came back now, encouraged by even that small use of magic.
[Sunrise, whenever that is...] On and on he worked. First a piece of splintered furniture, then a few more crisped books, then finally the whole destroyed scene was revealed as the sun peeked its horrid head over the horizon. Soon the others would be getting up and intrude upon this silent search, ruining who knows what, wasting time on his already-searched piles.
But his body could take it no more. With a groan, he gave in and obliterated the remainder of yet another torch, now useless. As the atoms moved freely to the skies, a surge of energy rushed into him. Yet again, the headaches struck, this one leaving him in the fetal position for around five minutes. Slowly, they subsided, and he went back to work. [Alchemic Transmutation]

(( Hey everyone, just a note to say that you'll definitely want to check out the front-page update, as it take sus all the way up to the night of the 24th - the ball.
However, before we can have the ball we need to finalise those arrangements and do all the roleplaying that needs to be done between all those days! >< I have at least... 7/8 posts to make, more if I have to rp with Zain (which I probably will), before we can get on with the ball, so that gives us plenty of time to work on it.
Bwaghaghljsanahj, hopefully the update will give you guys a better idea of when things happen and what's going on. ))

Date: December 17th 2009.
Xeiashi, Mage of the Benevolent Order, Appointed Scribe for the trial of Gwarniskal'del Ul'Moutroth, henceforth referred to as "Gwarn."
The defendant stands accused of launching an assault on the headquarters with full murderous intent on the night of December 1st 2009. The defendant faces further charges of escape, assault and damage of Order property. He is absent due to concerns over safety.
Presiding over the trial as adjudicator is High Priestess Lorika, henceforth referred to as HPL.
Replacing Professor Panda (recently deceased) on the bench beside her is Thomas, henceforth referred to as TOM. Replacing Jessie Hawk, formerly Captain, in his position on the bench is Drax, henceforth referred to as DRX.
Also present is Feline (FEL), magician and witness for the defence, and Josh (JOS), guard and witness for the prosecution.
HPL: Good evening, and thank you all for joining us here. This is the first disciplinary issue which the Order has seen taken to trial within its jurisdiction. As a recognised civic body we have some powers of holding, and under the doctrines of the Overseer we have the power to enact the death penalty. "Thou shalt not slay any thing that cometh not from the box of evil," quoth the Sixth Clammandment. The "box of evil" is interpreted as any creature that heralds from the outer realms, the demonic worlds from which the Sentinel sought to summon her plague, races known to be malevolent in nature and mindlessly destructive creatures such as the Animated. In short, any creature which poses a threat to the balance of power and life within Gaia may be rightfully terminated.
HPL: Gwarniskal'del Ul'Moutroth stands accused of the following crimes. [She lists them.] We need to decide the most appropriate treatment for this creature. Thomas, please proceed.
TOM: On the evening of December 1st 2009, Gwarn appeared in the Order grounds and proceeded to go on a bloodthirsty rampage, before he was halted by the efforts of Drax.
DRX: If I may say, I gave the foul beast only-
HPL: No, Drax, you may NOT say. Please continue, Thomas.
TOM: After a week in custody, Gwarn escaped from his confinement using weapons which he had concealed. He placed Miss Fel into a comatose state, and terrified many bystanders and guards. He was subsequently placed back into custody, before escaping again on the day of Professor Panda's death.
HPL: Thomas, you may also present the case and evidence.
TOM: Thank you. Gwarn's bloodthirsty rampages have been seen by many eyewitnesses. According to testimony by Drax and notes on interdimensional races I discovered amongst Professor Panda's surviving research, Gwarn is a creature known as a Rakshasa. These man-beasts are infallibly evil in nature and dangerous, shapeshifting tricksters. Gwarn has already demonstrated his deceitful nature through the concealment of weapons during custody. Guards have stated he would often fly into fits of rage in his cell, attempting to throttle them through the bars. During one of the High Priestess' visits, the creature lunged so violently at her neck through the bars that without the intervention of the former Captain she would most definitely have been injured, likely fatally. The Rakshasa has proved himself to fit all the stereotypes - savage, unpredictable, unstable and not to be trusted.
FEL: But that isn't true! He's not at all... I mean, he wouldn't...
HPL: Feline, if you can provide convincing evidence to the contrary of these claims Gwarn's case would very much be aided.
FEL: Well... I... it's nothing I can say, really. But I swear he's actually a very gentle soul! He hasn't tried to hurt ME once! And the first night he escaped he HELPED me! He brought me to the infirmary!
TOM: After placing you in a comatose state due to the use of dangerous interplanar magic, according to Hyaku's report.
HPL: I'm sure if our former Captain would here he would be capable of giving further damning evidence.
DRX: If I may, Priestess, I'm sure that that man would not have experience with such-
HPL: No, Drax, once again you may NOT say. Josh, as a representative of the Order Guard do you have anything you wish to add to Thomas' statement?
JOS: Um... no, not really. It's all true. That guy's trouble. You should've seen how he kicked off in the cells... man, those roars were horrible.
HPL: Thank you, Josh. Well, if we have nothing further to add... can we all agree on the Rakshasa's guilt?
[A unanimous vote of "Yes" amongst the three adjudicators.]
HPL: Now, as to the matter of punishment...
FEL: Oh, Priestess, PLEASE don't be too harsh on him! I beg of you!
HPL: Fel, this is not a man. This is not a creature as civilised as you or I.
FEL: He's PLENTY civilised, I swear!
HPL: This is a dangerous beast, a demonic creature from the outer realms. He must be dealt with as such. By all rights and laws, he merits execution.
FEL: But he hasn't KILLED anyone!
HPL: This is true. However, if left unsupervised, he most definitely would. Imprisonment seems to be no detriment to him, and we cannot have him wandering amongst our flock, for they are his prey.
DRX: If I may, Priestess-
HPL: [She sighs.] I suppose this time you may, Drax, as long as you have something pertinent to add to the discussion.
DRX: I believe I have proved myself thoroughly capable of controlling and restraining the beast. I propose that he be left permanently under my supervision.
HPL: But Drax, surely you must understand the grievous danger posed to the youngsters? We cannot have a murderer left to wander, no matter whose hands he might be in.
TOM: A murderer was allowed to walk unsupervised amongst us before...
HPL: Oh for goodness' sake, Thomas, let's not get into THAT again.
TOM: That man was no pair of bunny slippers, no matter what you may have deluded yourself!
HPL: Sit down at once! We must get back to the matter at hand.
DRX: My lady, the beast has been aiding the felids and caused little to no trouble since-
HPL: The felids. His people. We are unable to say with any confidence that he is not a danger to the human majority.
DRX: Then ALLOW him to stay with them. Please, Lady Priestess.
FEL: Yes, oh please! Please, Lorika! I can guarantee his good behaviour!
HPL: Drax, you have grappled with the beast. He has shed your blood. Why do you defend him nonetheless?
DRX: ...We have a bond.
HPL: You are all insane. This man is a potential murderer. It is only a matter of time before things get out of hand, and then the blood of innocents will be on all of our hands.
TOM: I couldn't agree more. Criminals and monster races should not be allowed to wander.
HPL: Thomas...
DRX: You cannot pass judgement so quickly on one who has committed no crime. Then again, you seem to be very good at that.
HPL: ...Oh, I see how this is going. You are willing to condemn my hasty actions against the drow when it pleases you.
DRX: I am not condemning, only pointing out a fact.
HPL: ...Well, fine. All those in favour of keeping Gwarn under supervision and continuing to limit his access to the human populace?
[1 For, 1 Against]
HPL: Then it seems I have the casting vote. Very well, I have been argued down. The beast shall remain free, and we shall deal with any consequences when they come.
Fel: Oh Priestess, I PROMISE nothing bad will come of this! Gwarn will be an UPSTANDING Ordonian!
HPL: If you say so, Feline, I expect you to work to guaratee it.
[Case closed in favour of the defendant.]
