Anna Mellison

o ->The flashing of the lights hurt her eyes, but it wasn’t anything new at all. The sound of voices and questions flying all around was the normal standard in her life. Drool and boring was the nice words to describe it, and it was absolutely annoying. Swallowing a yawn that would be considered rude, when her name was called and she pasted a soft smile on her lips, and closes her eyes halfway as she turned to listen to the question. ”Ms. Mellison, are you excited about the movie you are gonna be acting in soon? A middle aged woman who was clearly American asked her. Taking a deep breath as she widened the soft smile as she formulated her reply. Standing up and accepting the microphone, Anna looked first at the questioner, then everyone else before replying in a soft and cultured voice. ”I am, and very thankful the directors choose me over everyone else that was more talented than me for this roll. When the casting starts, I know I will learn many new things from my senior actors and actresses on the set.” She finished and was about to hand over the microphone when another person asked another question of her.


o ->”Do believe that your talent comes from your grandparents who were the top leading male and female actors in Japan? And if not, then where do you think you get your talent from. Since your parents are more into singing and modeling?” A tall rough looking report asked, with a smug self confident smile on his place. IT was a question that was meant to irritate her, and provoke her, since a lot of people thought as well as spoke about it behind her back. That her break into the business came from her grandparents influence. Closing her eyes briefly, then opening them all the way. Showing the odd amber brown color that she inherited from her grandmother. Tilting her head to the side and smiling so benignly, that it seemed too all who looked at her, that she was blinding. ”I do and I don’t sir. They helped me learn the basics as a child, since I was always curious about it. And when I turned 5, my mother took me to an audition for a commercial. And from there my career took off, and my talent that was gifted to me from my grandparents grew on its own. I wouldn’t like any other job.” She said as she met his eyes and stared him down. The man shifted from foot to foot uncomfortable. Her answer really didn’t answer the question, but it got the point across.


o -> Handing the microphone back to the director, he announced that the press release conference was over. A lot of shouting of questions all mashed together reached her ears. Not stopping as she continued to walk off the stage, back ridged and hands clasped in front of her like a traditional Japanese woman in a yukata. The way her body language gave off, let them all know that she was offended by the man’s question, which would get him reprimanded by his boss later. This brought a small cold satisfied smile on her face as she continued to walk even back stage to the exit. Once outside into the early evening air, which was refreshing after being in that building with its overbearing heat, and all those bodies. IT wasn’t that she didn’t like being in those situations. Of late, it grated on her nerves and annoyed her to her core. Stepping into the car after the door was open, Anna sat back and was taken home. The house was a large expansive Japanese styled castle on an impressive amount of property.


o -> Getting out she murmured a resemblance of thanks to the driver who looked at her with worried ancient gray eyes. Shutting the door, and watching as it drove off Anna turned to look at the estate. It was obvious no one was home yet, and that suited her just fine. Without a second thought, she turned and walked around to the side gate that led into her mother private garden, a place Anna knew she wasn’t supposed to be in. Grinning with a misplaced childlike grin she opened it and entered. The smell of lavender, roses, jasmine and lilies assaulted her senses. Closing her eyes and trying to distress herself as she sat down on an ornate cement bench. The sounds of the late evening bumble bees gathering the last bit of pollen for their honey, she opened her eyes to an out of place sound. The sound of rustling from the Azalea bushes that were no longer in bloom. Looking at them sideways, it seemed to subside and she ignored it. Turning her amber like gaze up to the sky, the loneliness that was her soul entered her eyes at the late November sky, tinted a pink-orange hue from the setting sun, behind mount fugi.


o -> Again the sound of the Azalea bushes being shaken again, causing her to turn her gaze upon them. The light in them was replaced by a detached irritation. But this time when she looked the bushes continued to shake, but more violently. With a sigh of bitterness Anna was up and walking forward, speaking in a commanding tone. One that would do and could do many things. ”Hello, if anyone is there, you need to leave or I will call security and have you put in Jail for trespassing on our private property.” The bush stopped shaking once more, and the sound of something moving in there, and away from her. Taking a deep breath that came out slowly and quietly in relief, because inwardly she was a bit shaken. There had only been two instances that she could remember of someone sneaking on to the property for illicit pictures of the family. Those hadn’t ended well, and shook her up, but glad that the person was leaving she turned to walk away when a soft sniggering came from the bushes as if to mock her as they shook even harder, causing some of the leaves to fall to the ground.


o -> Anna growled low in her throat at this, she had had a long tiring and bothersome day. And now she was being mocked by some wanna be paparazzi . Spinning around on the ball of her foot, Anna thrust her hands into the bushes, catching the Yukata on the branches and scratching her delicate peach complexion skin, and hissing as she got more irritated and angry. Her eyes catching a glimpse of something white or was it a pale blonde? It seemed to elude her as she pushed her way deeper and deeper into bushes, allowing them to close over her. The person or was it something else in front of her kept just out of her reach, still doing that mocking sniggering laugh. With another low growl, Anna pushed forward quickly and with a uncanny grace that a delicate woman of her stature shouldn’t of possessed. Grabbing some of the softest fur that she’d ever touched in her 19 years of life. Gasping as it shocked her and the culprit in her hand turned to look at her with winking human eyes. Causing her to stumble forwards and into an elaborate maze of bushes and roses. Many of the Roses were white, some were red and looked like they were dripping the redness from their small delicate petals to the ground below.


o ->Glancing around her she saw in the distance a tall castle that towered over the maze she was in as if it was just always gonna be out of her reach. Then realizing that in her hand was still the soft fur, looking down, she stared in a fascinated, but horrified sense of awe. Because the fur felt like fur, but looked like long blond strands of human hair. Shuddering visibly, Anna looked around for the bushes she’d come out of, but she was in an open area, that could only be the center of the amazing maze. There came noises from both sides, and soon it turned into slightly scared chattering. This place, for some odd reason tickled a thought or memory from the darkest reaches of her subconscious. But not ready to grasp on it, she went slowly and silently in a martial arts walk towards it. Soon the words became discernable, as the voices moved around just on the other side of the tall hedge wall. Peeking around as an odd feeling of de ja vu came to her, as if this was some type of bizarre dream. There were people dressed as cards, painting the roses red. Blinking in surprise and smothering a low soft chuckle. Anna soon realized that the people were actually cards, like in a bicycle playing deck, not in an actually costume. This brought a loud audible gasp from her mouth as her amber gaze stared wide at them.


o ->The nearest an 8 of clubs turned to look at her, and returned her exact expression. Though it’s thoughts were that there was a oddly dressed servant in the royal gardens. Trying to take a step back, Anna’s back hit a wall of leaves and branches. Jerking her head quickly causing her long blue black hair to fly over her shoulder as she looked were there had been an opening only a few seconds before. The sound of feet moving towards her , caused her to look forward at the cards coming towards her cautiously. Some carrying their cans of paint and the red tinted brushes. Others with spears and halberds, their looks a mixture of emotions. As she sunk to her knees, it dawned on her finally why this seemed oddly familiar, a book…then it came slowly and quietly, then gradually got louder and louder. The sound of it shocked Anna greatly to her core, since it was coming from her throat. The soft, but slightly crazed tinkling of her own laughter, because this was a dream.. and a horribly fantastic dream. AS she began to wonder when and where she fell asleep, and who slipped what into her food and drink earlier in the day. The cards from all varying suites stopped and looked at the crazed sounding girl, as she looked back at them from her half kneeling; half sitting position on the ground. ”Please tell me, where am I? and how did I get here?” She asked through the heavy fit of crazed laughter. With a few shakes of their heads, the cards didn’t answer but two came forward and took her into custody. Explaining that she was trespassing on the lands of royalty, and would be put to trail before the king himself should he want to take the time. The phrase struck her as odd, as the laughter died down to a giggle. She let herself be led, without struggle to were ever they were taking her.
