Look, the idea that it was released in China only brings up more reasons why it is -obviously- a bookleg: If it was released in China, the box should be written in Chinese, yet there is not a character of Chinese on it. The DVDs shouldn't play on my DVD player, because China is in a different regional coding then the US is, and anything without a US encoding will not run on a US DVD player. Also, why would they compress it at the risk of losing video quality? It would cost them only a little more, and they would make more money from it. That also would not explain any of my previous complaints; If made in China, it would only make sense for -all- the DVDs to start in Chinese or with Chinese subtitles, and yet none of them do. They aren't even uniform in what they do start in.

By the way, I don't mean that the images are hard to see, I mean that it is grainier, and sometimes the animation is kind of choppy. It may not be recognizable to someone who hasn't seen Cowboy Bebop outside of these DVDs, or someone who's only seen one or two episodes, but when you put two episodes side by side it is obvious that mine is a lower quality.

Foregoing the fact that the package should be in Chinese if it's made in China, the stuff written on the back is almost completely wrong about the story of Cowboy Bebop, saying that "A new generation of outlaws came into being. People referred to them as Cowboy Bebops......" Which is completely wrong. Entirely. The Bebop is the vessel they travel on, and Cowboys are, completely legal, bounty hunters. Most of the rest of the back of the package doesn't even have anything to do with the story at all.

I really wish you would trust my judgement; I may not recognize every bootleg as a bootleg, but I think that when I realize something's a bootleg, it probably really is.

They were imported form CHina. They dosn't mean it has to be exactly the same as the CHinese vertions. We got the box set and DVD arrangement style China produced. We also have alot of things made in china with English characters all over them, alot of the stuff we have today comes from countires in Asia but these items do not carrey the characters of their language unless its for added visual effect, eye candy in other words. The fact that the DVDs play on your player and there isn't a lick of chinese on the box dosn't really mean any thing other then it was reformated and edited for ENglish speaking audiences. Simply because its not exactly the way the orginile limited sale box set was made dosn't mean its a boot leg.

Yours may not be uniform, mine are. You're basing your complaints off of your own experince, thats fine, but only for your disks. You can't generalise all the disks based on your own personle experince. Each disk in my set starts out in pure japanese with no subtitles, I have to stop, go into the language settings, and change it to with English subtitles or pure English voice over with out subtitles.

I'm sorry I.Am, but the quality must just be your set. The animation on my disks isn't grainy, sure, I can make out a few nuances every now and then, but these nuances are only what you would expect from a DVD.

Your statement of the words written on the inside cover, not the back, is wrong. There are two things written And this new style of art will probably be called "Cowboy Bebop"

I'm not sure of the first part, but the secodn part sound fairly acuret to me (even if its vauge), it compares the events of a jazz hall in Harlem, New York with the events in the anime, basicly, breakign with traditional theme, which is what Cowboy Bebop basicly did. And the back of the cover does have to do with the anime. The back cover, the collage, is the set of images as well as the collage its self as seen int he opening credits.

I don't trust your judgment because your mackign a generalisation of thousands of copies of box art, words, and DVD content based on your own experince. Thats fine for if you're tellign some one about your DVD set, but not for mine.

Also, you said "Released in China;" Imports have to be played on special or modded DVD players because of the regional coding. If it was made in China for the US, you wouldn't have said "Released in China," and it would have made more sense for there not to be any Chinese on it.
