Ohh . . . . a lot of reasons. Mostly because I caught a disease that has refocused my efforts as a doctor.

Yes, well. Technically, I'm still a doctor, but I only have myself as a patient.
I managed to contract an illness that is quite a lot like vampirism. It's given me some unique abilities . . . . but with an obviously high price.
