"Don't look at me!" Earendil exclaimed, feigning innocence. "You know how she used to beg!"
"Beh!" Andarien piped up, not only copying his father but showing that he was ready for more food.

Lin chuckled as she took another bite of her food before giving a bit more bread to Andarien. She looked thoroughly amused at Earendil, and for good reason really.
"I use to beg?" Miyuki pipped up.
She had been for the most part quiet because she was eating, the food was so good!

Earendil laughed at Miyuki and reached over to ruffle her hair. "Absolutely," he grinned. "You couldn't talk yet, but you got this look in your eyes ... you still give me that look when you're trying to convince me you don't want to do your training."
He was teasing her, but it was the truth too.

"No I don't," Miyuki pouted.
Otherwise she was sure she wouldn't have to train otherwise if she had.
"Do I?"

Earendil laughed again. "Yes, you do," he grinned. "Not quite the look that you're giving me right now, but something like that."
He chuckled. "I don't know if I've just grown immune to it by now, or if I'm overcoming myself because it's so important that you do train."

"The other thing is you couldn't talk back then so giving him the look was the only way you got your point across," Lin added, "You didn't try as hard to grab things you tried to convince us to give it to you."
Which was both a good thing and not so good thing really. Though it was quite amusing looking back on it.
"Makes me wonder what Andarien is going to be like when he starts talking."

Earendil had finished eating by this time, and he pushed his tray away and tilted his head slightly at Lin.
"How do you mean?" he asked curiously.

"I find a lot of the personality shows the most once they start talking," Lin murmured, "Or maybe it's just because I can understand better to know what they like and dislike."
Certainly when Miyuki began to speak it helped Lin understand her daughter better. It also said a lot since her daughter's first word was Earendil's name.

"That's true," Earendil smiled. "Though I think we can safely say that our children have the ability to let us know what they want even without being able to talk."
Of course it was always easier once they could speak and express themselves clearly, but he felt that Andarien was being quite clear in expressing his preferences at the moment.
The boy was going to stuff himself like a turkey if he kept eating that much bread.

"Are you still hungry?" Lin asked.
While she was still in the middle of eating, she felt she was at least more done than Andarien who was still eating too. She was sure they had fed him last night.

Andarien just looked at Lin and opened his mouth expectantly.
Earendil laughed. "In his defense, he IS a slow eater," he admitted. "I mean ... one tiny bite at a time, and there's quite a bit of time between bites ... on the other hand, we could always take the bread with us and feed him while we're going. It's not like he's going to be the one walking around, after all."
And it would save them a bit of time waiting for him to finish breakfast. Miyuki he was certain was more than ready and quite eager to explore the village and to see the apothecary again.

To be fair, Miyuki was trying her best to distract herself from asking when they were going. Instead she had resorted to picking the crumbs off her plate and eating those. Even if it meant using her finger tips to do so.
Giving Andarien more bread, Lin had to nod in agreement otherwise they were going to be here all day.
"Let's do that then, we're going to be here a while otherwise."

Earendil stood and pushed his chair in, then moved to pull Lin's out for her, since she was holding Andarien and the bread.
"Miyuki, would you like to run and grab my bag for a moment?" he requested. "By the time you get back here, I'm sure we three will be ready to go."
It would give her something to do other than wait while he paid for their meal.

"Okay!" Miyuki was more than willing to do something useful while her parents got ready to go.
She slipped out of her chair without moving it and hurried back to their room to grab her ada's bag. Even if she didn't know why he would want his whole bag to begin with.
"Thank you," Lin murmured gratefully.
Without help she would imagine there would be no way for her to get up from her seat. Carefully she stood up, more worried about dropping the bread than Andarien because she had a good grip on Andarien but the bread not so much.

Earendil pushed her chair in once she had moved away from it. "Need me to take something for you?" he asked. "Or are you good?"
As he spoke, he started over towards the counter to pay for the meal.
