That was a good point, Lin had forgotten that Ulrich would tell them. Still to meet everyone, but they must be very happy just being together. It was idealistic in a way, being together just you and the person you love, alone...
The though made her smile it sounded so nice.
"True," Lin murmured as she let Amara continue cutting her hair.

It didn't take much longer, and just a bit more trimming, before they were finished.
"There you go," Amara smiled, untying the sheet and peeling it away from Lin. "What do you think?"

Looking in the mirror, Lin could honestly say her head felt lighter, but it was also the look. She seemed more younger in a way, going back to the 'cute' style she had before.
"It's perfect," Lin smiled.
At least now her hair wouldn't be in the way.

Amara smiled warmly. "Good. Then you go on back, and I'll clean up and start adding it to the doll. Shouldn't take me more than a few hours."
After all, she had to attach each strand individually before cutting them to length. Slow, painstaking work.

"Thanks," Lin smiled as she got off the chair.
It felt strange to have her hair that short again after so long, but this was how she liked it. With that she joined the others again, wondering how Earendil was keeping Miyuki busy.

Earendil and Haldia had started a game of keepaway with Miyuki, with the two of them sitting on the floor and rolling the ball to each other with Miyuki in between them and trying to catch it. Sometimes she got it, sometimes she didn't, but they all seemed to be having fun.
"Hey," Earendil grinned, the first one to see Lin coming out from the hallway, "you got it all cut!"
Haldia turned to look, and smiled. "Now you look as you did when first we met," she said softly.

Lin nodded, "I didn't manage to get it cut before coming back here so this is nice."
Though it seemed, not everyone thought it was nice. Miyuki heard her mother's voice, and turned only to see someone who looked like her Mommy but didn't all at the same time.
"Mummi?" she looked up with wide eyes.

Earendil chuckled. "Yes, that's your mommy. Go see her, eh?"
He grinned up at Lin. "Very nice. Though it seems Miyuki may have to take a while and get used to it."
He threw the ball at her, an unspoken invitation to join in their game.

Instinctively, Lin caught the ball and chuckled a bit wondering what game they were playing. As she pattered forward Miyuki looked up at the woman warily.
"Aww... Miyuki, you don't recognize me?"

Earendil chuckled. "Go on and take a seat, I'm sure she'll calm down soon enough."
"We are just rolling the ball back and forth and she is trying to catch it," Haldia explained, not really aware that the game did have a name. "I am sure that if you join us she will forget about your haircut."

Nodding at this, Lin took a seat on the floor. She waved at Miyuki who was edging back a bit.
"Mummi," Miyuki seemed slightly distressed, she wanted her Mommy.

"Aww, poor Miyuki," Earendil murmured, smiling slightly. "It's all right, Miyuki, she's still the same person. It's still your mommy."
He didn't know what to do. Sure, he could comfort Miyuki himself, but that wouldn't help the situation.

Lin rolled the ball to Miyuki, she didn't think a hair cut would have caused such a reaction. When Lin really thought about it however, she knew that Miyuki had only known her with long hair.
"It's okay Miyuki," Lin murmured.
Picking up the ball, Miyuki looked at Earendil, not sure of what to do.

Earendil smiled at Miyuki. "Give it to your mommy," he urged her. "Go on, she's not going to hurt you. She's just the same as she was."
Perhaps he would have to learn to cut hair, so that if it started to get long while they were traveling in the future he could trim it so that Miyuki wouldn't have to suffer any more shocks.

Miyuki blinked and looked back at the lady, and looked back at Earendil. She didn't get most of the sentence but it was enough she understood. She padded nervously over to the older woman and held out the ball.
Lin smiled, she felt sorry for Miyuki. She honestly didn't think it would be that huge of a change.
"Thank you Miyuki," she murmured taking the ball and inching to get a bit closer.
Miyuki looked up, she was just like her mommy only her head was different. She came forward and tried to reach up to touch Lin's hair.
Lin bent forward to let her, "I cut my hair."
"Air?"
