Remus was slightly surprised by the Doctor's appearance, but he turned and took a deep breath.
"Before you go assuming I'm gay, I have a very good reason for sending you that rose. Would you please be seated?"

"I assure you, I have no desire to ask." she sighed, rolling her eyes.
A faint breeze blew through the Waning Vestal, warmer than the usual magically-conjured winds.
It smelled faintly of roses and cedar.

Grey looked at Remus with a lifted eyebrow. "You?" He sat down immediately, ordering a coffee. "Whatever. Explain away, emperor."

"Listen, Grey. I want to apologize. What I did to you in the Dome only made me feel worse after I left the arena. This...animosity we've been having towards each other....it's.....its horrible. We used to be friends....I want that friendship back."
Remus realized that he had softened up quite a bit in recent days.

There was a squeak of...something from the booth as Emma and Hrothbert receded further into the shadows. The scent of rose and cedar in the air grew stronger as the temperature rose slightly.
Emma needed very badly to work on controlling her magic in regards to emotion.

Grey sipped his coffee, unfazed. "...I'm not returning to Mars. I have work to do here on Earth, and even once that is done I will still need to keep myself away from society in general. I've taken on certain... vampiric traits, and until those traits subside I will stop at nothing to drain as much life force as possible."

"You don't have to return to Mars, Grey. You don't even have to forgive me. However, that rose you have is a gift for Earth. My scientists infused it with the DNA code of a fast growing moss that will flourish in the wastelands, and purify the contaminated water. Earth will be green again within a few short years with little to no radiation levels."
Remus stood up. "I can't undo what I did. But hopefully I can make things better again."
With that, the Imperator left the tavern along with his automatons.
(( I'm off to bed. Good night you guys.))

Grey looked at the rose as if it was a fine crystal. He turned to Emma and Hrothbert. "Do you think his change of heart has something to do with Kaokie?"

It was the middle of the afternoon when Vii returned to the Tavern again, and she was weak, exhausted and starving. The place was deserted of live people, but there seemed to be a few bodies lying about in the dim light shed by the blinds. Trudging as if it were a hundred miles she reached the kitchen and shoved the door open with her weight. It swung forward slowly, much heavier than she remembered. The wonderful world of cuisine open up to her for the first time in nearly a year and she had missed it terribly. The grill was sizzling in no time with the biggest rib eye she could find already marinated for the night's patrons. Unfortunately the cook would be one short and he could complain to her if he had a problem with it, which he wouldn't. Though the thought of a confrontation with the burly cook sent fear straight to her weary core. Mashed potatoes and a roll with a bowl of half eaten salad waited for the sizzling steak she carried on the end of a steak knife from the grill to her plate. Remembering that she'd forgotten a fork, she stalked around the bar again to retrieve it when she saw something big and furry ducking out the back. Curious who the canine might be she followed it out the back door. Once her eyes adjusted to the light she saw it lunging for her just before she hit the closed door behind her. Pain shot through her like a fire and quickly subsided from the anesthetic Nryk had administered earlier that day. A long lolling tongue lapped her face from chin to hairline only to be followed with a sharp n** on the exposed part of her arm. The huge dog latched on tightly, but not hard enough to crush her arm, but massively painful still. She couldn't worm free of it's jaws without inflicting more pain on herself. Screaming in pain and frustration and pushing against it with all of her wimpy human strength witch amounted to nothing at first, but then the beast just released her arm and ran away. For a second she thought she could have heard the sound of someone laughing echoing in the distance, but she had a steak waiting and that was her number one priority. Returning to her plate with a for in hand and a freshly bandaged arm, Vii tore into the meal and decimated it in moments. Cursing the dog that bit her and the pain killer that was now worn off she just didn't have the energy to make it up the stairs. The couch was free and so she grabbed as many blankets as she could find and curled up, shivering from head to toe. ★★★★★★★

Bonnie entered the tavern, swinging her trident. She suddenly became aware that her weapon might seem a tad threatening, so she left it at the door propped against the wall and started to walk briskly over to the bar. She sat down and swung around on her stool looking around to see who was in the room. Her eyes fell on a mass of shivering covers on a couch against the wall and she peered at it curiously.

Emma appeared out of the blazing fireplace, her gown taking on the hues of flame and small traces of fire collecting in her hair, forming a circlet of sorts. She spotted Bonnie across the room, but stayed silent.

Bonnie jumped a bit when she saw movement out of the corner of her eye, and looked over at the fireplace where Emma had appeared. Blinking a couple times to be sure she wasn't seeing things, she regained her composure and offered a quick smile and nod to the lady. Then, with a last puzzled glance back over to the couch she had been staring at, turned back to the counter, intent on deciding what to order.

Emma nodded in return before retiring to her usual booth, pulling out a book and a sheaf of sheet music, going over both intently.

The shivering mass soon relaxed and drifted off into a confused slumber.
The devil was standing in a long black cloak, and his onxy hair was long hanging loosely about his horned head. He was angry, she could feel the waves of heat emanating from him but she couldn't move. He began to laugh when she wriggled and he approached her with menace clutching her face in his scorching palm roughly. Again he said nothing rather just glared into her eyes, searching for something. A wolf appeared in the corner of her vision and crossed the large room to curl up on a red pillow next to a raging fire that passed off as the devil's fireplace. He released Vii and she remained very quiet despite her fear. He had his back to her now, facing the wolf in the corner and Vii lost focus for a moment. Suddenly she was alone in the forest, it smelled like rain, but it wasn't dark enough to obstruct her vision. Something told her to go down a path and she followed in what seemed like slow motion. Deeper into the forest it became dark and the canopy of the tress obstructed her from the light of the twilight sky. A panic rose in her chest and she ushered her feet to move faster through the uneven forest floor hopping and tripping over exposed roots and loose rocks. Stumbling and slipping on a moss covered rock Vii's shoe went flying into the overgrown fauna into the darkness that swallowed it. Like an idiot she dove for it, to be swallowed in darkness as well. ★★★★★★★

Emma steepled her fingers in front of her face, watching Vii like a hawk. From the shadows, only her eyes could be seen; two points of deep, ageless brown.
