Unless AR changed the rules, a secondary character had to be bought with 50 credits at one point in time. Being gone for awhile I don't know if that rule changed or not. wink

As far as I know thats technically the rule.
But no one has actually bought a character with any credits...and we've had a lot of people - mod and not - get a second character already.

Yeah exactly. I dunno what the rules are. lol I think the credits thing was really put into place to stop folks who we didn't know too well from bombarding us with requests.

Okay friends.... I have been writing three different stories over and over and over again for um probably fifteen years. I start, restart, change it up and then restart again. Which story idea sounds most worth while to work on to you guys:
------
Story 1: Selenity: Apprentices of Merline Premise: Trio of three friends (Claudia, CJ and Alexis) have strange little happenings keep popping up in their everytown USA home. They meet a few strange characters over the first few chapters of the book. The first is a flighty girl who seems high into the belief of myth and old wives tales. The second is an older man who lives in a mansion long rumored to be haunted. They discover he isn't so bad and start helping him around the house. They find a whole collection of neat artifacts and he starts telling them stories his grand mother made up about what each piece means. You know like Avalon, magic and stuff. He ends up going missing and the kids sneak into his house only to start figuring out that his stories might end up being truth. They end up finding themselves in Selenity... a country in a parallel world to this one that contains places like Avalon, Atlantis, etc. They also find that they are apprentices to this man (Merlin) and are charged with learning their skills and saving the day.
I have a whole set of lore written for this story already and large chapters here and there but I go back and forth with it being too cliche.
------
Story 2: Untitled as of yet
This story is actually planned to take place hundreds and hundreds of years after Story 1 mentioned above when parts of the "Science" world and "Magic" world merge into one in some parts. The main character (Auri Whitewolf) is a thief for hire or some other type of unsavory character. She finds herself taking a job against the wrong person and ends up on the run herself. (This character an Evie type of person) The person sent to hunt her down finds himself being the target of a hit as he closes in on her. Both end up working together to find out why they are hunted.
This world is heavy into prophecy and lore, of course, and it will turn out that the two realities merging is going to destroy both of the worlds. Two people are supposed to stop it and it turns out to be the above two characters. The main villain (who is responsible for the merging of the worlds) is out to get them I believe.... but this story ends up being a long journey of two characters looking for redemption and fighting their own chosen occupations to be the hero of sorts and save their own world.
---------------
Story 3: Night Creatures
My first version of this story I literally wrote fifteen years ago before all the twilight crap. Story about a girl who is being followed around by two vampire brothers (Xavier and Jeremy). One of the brothers has been following the love of his life's soul through her lives until they can be together. The leading girl in the story ends up being turned within the first two chapters (life or death situation for the vamp, Jeremy... let her die here or turn her. He gets tired of waiting and turns her which leads to conflict since she didn't make the choice of course). So much of the story is told as what went on with these past lives and Genevieve finding out what is going on now. The story ties into a whole night time world where these folks live out of a castle which is where an army of human protectors live. These "Night Creatures" are of course your vampires, werewolves, gargoyles and other magics. They have vowed to protect innocents against those who give their races a bad name.
Again lots of lore and such here too. But at this point this feels cliche as well.
--------
Cannot decide. Should have written these years ago.... yeaaaars ago

Again lots of lore and such here too. But at this point this feels cliche as well. -------- Cannot decide. Should have written these years ago.... yeaaaars ago story three will get u accused of being a copycat... story two and one- good ideas. for story one, though it might be cliche, you can make them demi goddesses or the three fates... or desended from all three fates or just one of them, meaning their related. or you could only make one of them a demi goddess... also, you can have the characters they meet be a bigger part of the story- say the first girl they meet is someone like gwenivere or Eliane sent to their world to open their mind to the possibility of magic being real. you could also make one of them a traitor and actually have some other girl be the true third apprentice-though that might be riding the cliche train for too long. also you might have them run into a few other strange characters before they end up in Selenity. you could write two or three differeant books or do it in parts, depending on your personal taste. the books might give your characters more depth. aslo, to keep them from being mary-sues*coughbellaswancough* have at lest one of them suck at soemthing or be physically imperfect in some way... for example, you could make one of them plus sized(not fat-like a size 16) and one of them with an attitude problem. for story two, you could have the places where magic and science have merged be obliterated or completely change the landscape and/or weather. i'd go with something like assassin for your main character- people might say ur copying the second set of aveyond games otherwise.... for your secondary character, i would have them be someone who's been wronged by your main character before and now has a choice about weather or not to help her. this person is tempted by the main villain with promises of restoration of the wrong.(if that makes any sense) and because the villain isn't stupid, they send someone/something after the both of them. also, your main character should either be from one world or both, the same goes with your secondary character. and to make it more orginal, have your characters from your third story be in this world- make them the ruler of the Selenity or something... or rulers of a world that was merged with Selenity... but successfully. another thing that can happen is that Auri can be descended from one of the three girls from the first story. also, you can have the main villain pull a harrod/pharoh thing around the time the prophacy comes to light anyway, hope that helps in someway- I also happen to have plans for a book in the works but havn't decided on a protagonist yet... if any of this is insulting to your inteligance, sorry. these are the kind of things i like in fantasy books.

Thanks NA. Absolutely agreed on the third story. I should have written it years ago then it wouldn't be considered copying and probably would have been better written than half the crap out there now. lol
Story II you actually hit some of the points that I have written into it already. The merged parts are going to be just insane. Very damaged. Auri has popped up in some of my Star Wars fan fics and she is an assassin. I just am unsure if people can get behind a hero who used to make a living killing people without some kind of redemption/punishment for that character. I did think about offing her in the stories but I want to make it a series so that would serve me no purpose. haha.
I was going to have some characters remain from Story I. At least the main one, Claudia. The idea for the magic world is that of course it has your typical lot of people you hear from myth but the people with the most power are the magics (not sure of their name yet). Magics each have a certain color aura and based on that color they can control certain magics. Claudia was the rare magic with a white aura that could control all magics including healing. I'm thinking she and other healing magics might be around still for story II.
For story I: The kids absolutely have things they suck at. They're high school kids. lol Your usual rag tag group of misfits. I might write story I and II in tandem. Can't decide. So many ideas and not enough time.

Biggest problem for RPing games is that you have to wait for players to make a move. I don't mind a little glossing over when you trust the writers around you. None of us are really out to dominate the world so we should be fine.

Completely random thought....
I looked at some of the badge updates and discovered that Forellen only uses a little over 64% of her available talent points.
She uses like 29 out of 45.
Makes me want to just add points to places when I see people with 40+ points lol
But I can't bacause it wouldn't make sense for her to have more points in places. >.>
Don't ask why I noticed that. I don't exactly have an answer.
I think I need more coffee. Tim Hortons here I come. >.>
