"Kelligrin came home for a week and was raving about this girl that he's in class with. He thinks he's found true love." Shaking his head and then glancing over at his father's cards just out of curiosity. "The day I get married, please, buy me a drink and don't stop. One woman for the rest of my life...I'd die. No offense, Khai."
Then turning to his brother with a ruffle of his hair to thank him for the drink and picking up the cards that he'd dropped down, turning them over and showing them to his brother. "You're trying to make a set of something that will be higher than everything everyone else has. I have a pair of twos. When it's my turn, I can trade these five cards in and try to make one of these." Handing him a card with all the hands written out on it for easy reference. "You already know how the betting works because we've done it with other games. We'll deal you in next hand. Right now, we're waiting to see if Dad or Uncle Malik is going to win."
"He tried that..." Shaking her head and then leaning back in her chair. "I feel silly, now. He kept insisting I needed to take a bath and that I needed help and I thought he was crazy." Now she realized he was really being romantic and sweet. "But you think he'll be willing to wait?"
"I do. I think he'd be willing to wait as long as you need to. And I also think that part of the reason that he's upset is because he upset you. Men take that to heart, Kaelin, and your husband is particularly sensitive about that sort of thing. Has been since he was little and his mom was upset about something."
"Mykorian?" She went quiet for a moment and then shook her head. "No. He wants Lyssie and I refuse to be his second."

He rolled his eyes. "I'm still trying to figure out how the hell you two are so different. One boy wants nothing to do with commitment and the other almost seems eager for it. I've never seen her, assassin thing apaprently." Snickering at that and throwing in what steel was required. "I'm calling." Thus throwing his cards on the table, which he had gathered himself a royal flush on the first game of the night.
"No offense. The only thing I ever envied about you was the racing things and I'm merely not cut out for such things and I made my money off of you anyway. I'm quite happy to settle down. None of that courting and chasing nonsense to deal with."
"She's pretty, I've seen her once." But paying attention to his brother's words and trying to watch as well to see what was going on. It didn't seem so hard really. And betting was a long old concept to him. "That seems simple enough."
"Men caring and willing to wait on things is actually a key in reading them. Let's face it, men can pretty much be bad guys and force those kinds of things when they want to. But if they don't and they don't really change how they regard you then you have to give them a little credit." The truth was rarely pretty, but that was it. But she did give a snort at Faate, such a negative girl. "Lyssie? Please. He avoids Lyssie like plague when she seems to have an inkling for that sort of thing. It's kind of funny to watch sometimes."

"well damn."
tossing down his hand, full house, pair of eights and three threes. shaking his head lightly and leaning back some.
"Is it a good idea to get involved with a female assassin even if your a male one?"
before dealing out the next hand, and looking at his cards.
"and I think there is a woman for you, Zykariel. should I go look for one? after all, I seem to have a talent for it."

Zykariel gave his father the pile of steel he'd won and then sat back, sweeping his new hand up, rearranging some, and then leaning back. "No, Malik. I won't marry your daughter." Thus taking another long sip of alcohol and slapping his friend on the back. "Khai's married and will no doubt be having brats before too long. Focus on that happy couple." Then giving a grin to his friend. "Chasing is the fun part. You're now going to get the nagging. When they start that mess or the "Do you really love me?", they're gone. I don't have a clue how my dad puts up with my mom without strangling her." His brother was given a glance accompanied by a frown. "You've seen her?"
"He is a good man. He wasn't willing to wait ten years ago with my parents and that whole thing, though." Chewing her lip thoughtfully.
Faate snapped to attention at that and studied her aunt closely then shook her head. "Mykorian doesn't think of me that way, though. I mean we'd start kissing or something and then things would just become awkward, don't you think?"
"You could always ask him about it. See how he responds, Faate. Are you afraid to make love with someone?"
"No."

He didn't know why he enjoyed gambling as much as he did, but he did. "If they're part of the same assassin's guild, I think it would be a less risky venture than just another assassin period. I still wouldn't. I'd be afraid she'd shank me over an argument." Pausing and blinking once before a smirk, "Granted Zahara's done that once to me already, but she's still no assassin mind you."
However his son got an amused noise out of him. He didn't why the notion of that happening was so amusing, it just was. "I tune her out, and if she makes me angry I don't talk to her. Eventually I win, she makes steak and plays nice nice and then all goes back to normal till the next time." Throwing ten steel into the middle of the table.
"Yup. Not really quick or anything but I did. Last time Kelli came home for a while. She was heading somewhere else too, I guess they left the guild together." Shrugging before tilting his head at his cards and making a face at them. "When can I trade cards?"
"Nope, won't be having kids for quite the long while." There was no way Kaelin was ready for kids, he didn't want any right now, and well...there was the matter of his sister. Sure, Dhairiss took it more personal but he shared in part of he belief. Till that girl was grown, extra help was always a good thing to provide.
"Only on certain things Kaelin. Waiting shouldn't take place on other things, especially like the situation you were in." Faate was not being fun in this matter at all. Apparently this girl was more messed up than some of them had been at her age. "As I said, you don't know till you try something. Just so you know, first everythings are awkward. Yes, sex is awkward. You just get used to it. People invading your personal space that much and you just have to go with the flow. Otherwise my room would not be soundproofed."

Oh that was low. but malik could fire back on that one.
"Actually, I was thinking about that one woman. Cerrillia. She seemed quite interested in you, didn't she. maybe she's got a sister I could find for you."
smirking lightly...and glancing at the opening by sevilin and matching it, moving some cards around.
"then you better make sure she gets with Zahara. after all, you've seen how rapid those of us from the underfoot can multiply."
giving a slight grin to Sevilin.

Zykariel made a face and shook his head. "Not Cerrilia or anyone else like her, either. Bad memories, bad time." And his dad didn't really like talking or thinking about that brief span in his life either. He gave a chuckle to his father and then slapped down two cards to be replaced. "You've got mom's number but I don't think that would work on all women like her. Your turn, Kit."
"And that just proves my point, Kaelin. He gets upset when things are happening to you or you are put into a bad situation. He'll do anything to keep you happy."
"Even I don't quite believe that, Faatallon." She studied both of the older women in front of her for a moment and then settled back in her chair and began picking at her food. "What's your favorite part of sex?"
"I really wouldn't know. The one time I did anything it really wasn't anything worth doing again. I didn't enjoy it, he did, and I failed to understand why elves are always racing and such to do such things." Shaking her head. "Like you and dad. I don't really understand how you two can do that sort of thing in the middle of the day and just because."

"Hey don't look at me. I blame Zahara. She's the one in charge of that sort of thing. It's not my fault when she doesn't spike my food with something or other. Sometimes I think she 'forgot for a few weeks' on purpose." He had no interest in the former part of the conversation at all. "Most women however do hate silence. They just can't stand it." Smirking though in his own way. "If anything, better catch up with Zahara before that girl's instincts kick in. She is Labyrinthian drow."
"What instincts?" Still oblivious but he was more focused on cards anyway as he watched the other and traded in two of his cards, hoping whatever he got was going to help...not really sure how but hey it was all in the fate of the cards he supposed. Cards picked and money in, he watched expectantly.
"I'm sure that will come up at the girl's pow-wow. Not really worried right now as Zahara's been drugging me for years anyway. Not that I was the one who needed it but I suppose being around Zykariel means extra precautions. He's a bad influence on me and what not." Trading in three cards and throwing in his own steel. Blinking though at Sevilin's revelation. Crap, he hadn't even thought of that. Did they all have those?
"I like the closeness and single mindedness, personally. Men get very focused during sex, it's almost amusing. Usually you get to be the center of that focus and that my dear children is very wonderful. Well you know on the regular basis of things...as variety can be very fun." But Faate was still being negative about everything, clearly. She wasn't even trying to explore the conversation. At least Kae was doing that much. "That's called love Faate. That and instincts but that's another problem all together. Sex isn't just about rutting around with each other and making babies on the side."

Malik handed out cards and took three for himself.
"Good thing that Norrathain elves don't have flushed and giggly or instinct periods. good lord."
a glance at Kit.
"that's when your mother craves your father sexually to a degree of stalking hm down and having her way with him whenever she can. same thing with Piper. she gets flushed and giggles a lot and does similar...though it also seems to turn andalian males into easily caught moths to an open flame."

"She did. Mom has always wanted a lot of kids. She started with Faate and it just went from there." He picked up his new cards and tossed five steel in, rearranging and chuckling at Malikhai. "Not bad enough, apparently. You were a virgin when you got married." He wasn't sure how he felt about Malik telling his brother that sort of thing and shook his head. "When mom and dad play for a week at a time, kiddo. You know, you can't get anything from her and you can't get anything from him either. There's something in her body that makes her feel like she needs to be with him constantly, regardless of what they do. Mom's instincts makes her cuddly, too."
"I'd have to say the way I feel after is my favorite part. I feel like someone rubbed me down with sunshine. I feel warm and happy and like I can just take on the world, kick some butt, and take some names. There are very few things in the world that make you feel that way." Stretching her arms up high over head and giving a satisfied smile. It soon faded, however, and frowning at her daughter, then reaching over and gently tweaking her braids, she said, "Faate, you never even gave it a chance. Who did you even sleep with?"
"It doesn't matter. I didn't love him and that apparently is the problem. But, I don't love Mykorian either."
"I think you might have a few more feelings for him than you did this other mystery man. I love Khai and I would do anything in the world for him...except that at first." She breathed out a sigh and then giggled quietly. "I want to feel like that."

Delta had told them all she could for the moment. Things looking muddy and unfamiliar, but she did the best she could. Sitting in her drawing room swirling a cup of tea, she contemplated what it might mean for the fragile realm should these machines be activated...what it would mean if the other worlder's intervened.
Plans were being laid out.
Aella returned to the rooftop, her things stashed, colour spell cast, and acid in toe. She shook the small glass bottle. "Alright, lets start ruffling some feathers. This will start working once it hits open air."

Onyx nodded and moved from rooftop to rooftop, bounding silent as a jungle cat and finding the right roof and moving on it, tapping lightly on the spot.
"Here. right above the bed, near the top. should melt right through and give us a clear sight of him when he sleeps."
purring lightly.
"how far do you want to go once we have entry?"

"Thanks for the bluntness." Which got a chuckle out of him, moreso as Zykariel tried to pad things with his brother. One Inthara kid still had a scrap of innocence to him despite his age, it was practically amazing. "Andalian females only stalk when they're not getting the attention they want. Otherwise they sit back and let the men do all the chase and earn work. You just drive Piper out of her mind everytime that happens." Though for the sake of debate, the question was not when, but it that would ever happen again. That woman was all wrecked up.
Well those were contrasting weren't they? Though he got the meat of the matter on what they were both trying to explain. He merely shook his head. "Good luck with that Khai."
"That's because you kept those things hush hush, O' Deceiving One." Didn't have to elaborate there, as they all knew Zykariel played older than he was for the longest time before he had ever bedded a woman. Rolling his eyes, even if it probably was indeed a fact to consider.
"You always want to kick butts and take names. Sometimes I think there is something wrong with you." Shaking her head but look at that, Kaelin was starting to get on board here. Well that was good, sometimes encouragement and reassurance solved a lot. Except apparently when it came to Faate. "No one ever said love had anything to do with it either. If that was the case, Zykariel is biting off more than he can chew in the ways of hearts." Waving a hand dismissively, "You just want an excuse to stay a little girl." Hardball, yay.

"blunt is best for those kind of questions. and she stalked me. and I did pay attention. I got the scars to prove it."
a slight chuckle there, indeed he had a few places that had actually scarred over a bit during that due to constantly being raked over the same place to bleeding. not that she had much voice during that time either.
"moving some cards again and throwing another five steel on the table.
"Raise five."

"Kaelin isn't Andallian. She's Labyrinthian and all the females I've seen have them. It won't be awful though, Khai. A full week of nothing but sex. There are worse things." He simply rolled his eyes in return and shook his head then glanced at his cards and called. Why was he having such a bad night, tonight?
"It's part of my nature. Especially when it comes to my kids. Mess with my kids and I'll kick your butt and take your name to write on your tombstone." She shook her head and dipped her cake into a bit of whipped cream on her plate then savored the last bite. "You trust Mykorian." "And you like him."
Faate's head snapped up and she studied the other women for a moment then shook her head. "Why do you say that?"
"Common sense. I liked Khai and when he showed another female attention, it upset me. When we weren't together though, I refused to let him see that so I pretended like it didn't matter when it really hurt. Once we started dating, I let him see everytime he hurt me so that he could make it up to me and apologize."
She was quiet for a long moment. "Lyssie." Then a shake of her head and a sigh. "So what if I do like him that way? He probably doesn't feel the same and then I'll just feel silly when he stumbles all over himself trying to tell me that."
