Esou's exceptional hearing heard the light *thump* *thump* of a sniper. Krii'Ouse's training didn't react fast enough, and but he caught the dart just as it stabbed into his neck. 'Damn...' he said, starting to feel woozy. He saw Astaroth flick a dart out of his arm, and bent over.

'The Hell?' he asked the air. 'Skiaska?' he called. 'SKIASKA!!!' He hit the ground. His eyesight was blurring. Krii'OUse was unconscious.

Esou rose from the ground, pulling the dart from his neck, and throwing it to the ground. 'Esou must get Skiaska-mate home.' he said, picking up the dart that Krii'Ouse had seemed so interesting. Esou was in hybrid form, and he turned to Skiaska.

'Come with Esou, Skiaska-mate.' he said, walking up to the woman.

Dead? My dear Tokeru, I am not dead. I am Mephisto the most powerful demon lord on this planet. You think a little thing such as destruction of my body would save me? My spirit is still here, and i am just waiting for the moment to take over your body, which seems soon. You have my weapons on you, and your body is an excellent vessel to take. In my demon form i could not destroy it. With all my powers i could not do enough damage to it to kill you. You just kept coming back. In all my centuries, i have never seen a body like this. You are a perfect vessel, and with it i could rule the world again.

Tokeru growled at these words. Where as the barrier that kept the demonic items from turning him evil was made from discipline. The barrier that stopped Mephisto's words was made of pure rage. Wordlessly he reached out within his mind and grabbed Mephisto's soul.

You're mine now, Demon Lord. If you thought you could take my body and just waltz away with my soul still in it, you have another thing coming. I will destroy your soul the same way i destroyed your body. With years of disciplined training that even your damned demon powers cannot match. I have the might of my heritage and of my gods behind me, you have nothing.

And without another thought, the struggle for his body began.

During this entire exchange, Tokeru picked up his reciever and opened it. "Hello? Tokeru here."

Ixilin awoke an hour or so after the fight with the young female Lycan. He stood up to get his bearing. He leg was stiff from the recently healed wounds. His barrier was still up but rapidly weakening, if he had not woken up he would have been lying on the road, completely open to attack. He picke dup his Glock and checked the magazine, nine rounds of liquid nitrate were left. He then retrieved his book, it was glowing a dull red and, as his hand reached for it, Ixilin's hand glowed a light blue. Once he touched the book both hues evaporated, disappearing from the night. He pulled his bag over his shoulder, put the book inside it, closing the flap and clasping hit. He reholstered his gun in his chest holster, turning the safties on both guns on. He pulled out a cigarette and quickly struck a match, his nerves running high from the recent adrenaline rush. He inhaled the drug and it calmed him down. He then released the barrier spell and began walking down the street when he heard two small thwips, like a silenced gun come from the roof top on his right. He moved around the side alley and, making way too much noise, began climbing the fire escape on the side of the building.

Liora pursed her lips in discontent as she continued to observe Tokeru. He was behaving quite strangly and appeared to be having some internal conflict or another. His growling motivated Liora to take a step cautiously backwards from him. Okay, so her first acquaintance from the NYHG appeared to be mentally instable. Splendid. Abruptly, Liora's 'sixth sense' pelted her with a dozen different mental alarms. A very subtle sense of wrongness returned, and this seemed to be emanating from Tokeru himself. Unbeknownst to her, she was vaguely sensing the spirit of Mephisto. Though the demon was dead, his aura still exuded enough power from Tokeru for her lycan senses to register. Liora, however, was not yet enough intuned with her lycan abilities to know such things, so her mind was unable to process the data her lycanthropic senses presented it with.

Her confusion became even more acute when Tokeru pulled out a reciever. When he answered it, Tokeru's voice seemed normal enough despite his previous fit. For the moment, she filed away the strangeness which she'd noted previously in favor of listening in on Tokeru's conversation on the reciever. She allowed herself to become 'distracted' by the revolver she sported in her thigh holster; Liora pulled it through the slit in her dress and popped open the cylinder. Her brow furrowed as she gave the impression of checking her ammunition, and she stepped forwards as though she were seeking out a better light source. Now, her lycan ears would most likely be able to register the voice of whomever Tokeru was speaking with. Liora praised herself mentally for her superb acting talents and then admonished herself for her pride.

((Doesn't every daemon lord think they are the most powerful in the world? xp ))

Rhator
Rhator
Satans Nightmare
She couldnt help but smile as she watched him, through the darkness, rip his own wings off. Sadistic, she knew, but at the same time a sense of pleasure rippled through her...and her eyes faded from their normal vibrant green to a deep crimson, her fangs enlongating ever so slightly. It was then that she felt his presence rushing at her once more.

"Persistant son of a b***h, aren't you," she muttered softly to herself, a sort of menacing gleam in her eye. Crouching low to the ground, she timed herself perfectly to his moment of arrival, pushing off backwards into a perfect backflip, and aiming to land a few feet away from him. However, as she was in the middle of her arc, she drew two shredder glaives from their holders on the back of her belt and sent them flying towards him. True, they were normally used for vampires and lycans...but right now they would serve their purpose as a sort of distraction.

While he would have to deal with those somehow, one aimed directly for his chest, the second heading straight for his neck, she began to close the gap between them rapidly, aided by the speed boost her new...self...seemed to give her.

The two thrown shredder glaives whizzed at Rhator, one stuck in his shoulder, the other skidded off of his armor. Without missing a beat Rhator ripped the vile thing out of his arm, not feeling a thing. He raced at the vampiress, catching up to her. He swung his left arm, without the heavy weight off his armor, in an uppercut headed right for the vampiress' abdomen. He was hoping to deal internal damage to prevent her graceful movements. He hated grace.

((Just in case you missed my post earlier SN I'm quoting it here))

((Actually here's the new plan, I was wounded pretty badly and left, my spear still in Octave's hands. I need to free up Rhator to allow him to heal himself. Rhator fled to his apartment in the demon district))

(( sorry for taking so long...>< if thats what you want to do...sorreh! ))

Since the fight was over, she grimaced slightly, snapping ehr shoulder back into place from where she had dislocated it. While painful, it quickyl went away and she was once again on the move. Scaling the buildings with ease, her eyes ahd not returned to their normal vibrant green color, as they remained the deep crimson color. There was a certain amount of mischief in her eyes now as she dashed through the night, pausing for a moment on the ledge of a building, the gleam of black leather as she looked down at the city below the only thing that could be seen of her.

Tanith-Aza

PostPosted: Sun Feb 26, 2006 10:56 pm

The gathering wraps up. Only herself, and her cousin remain behind around the fire pit. Tanith looks across the flames to the woman that could have been her sister. They had such different lives now, she had a mate.. and two pups of her own that she had spend the last decade raising with her mate.

Tanith had no one. She smiles sadly at her cousin. She loved her with all her heart, they were of a like mind most of the time... but they were different. Tanith had no children, no mate... and had spent far too much time alone. It was almost painful for her to stand here surrounded by family. She felt like withdrawing from them, insulating herself in quiet and darkness.

"You can't run, and you can't hide. But you can adapt, and grow in ways you never thought you could. You've always underestimated yourself.. and paralysized yourself with the fear of repeating your past mistakes." she says to Tanith before leaving her to the silence of the fire, and the night that was as yet still young.

Astaroth- Lord of Vanity
The Hunters didn't stop, which mauled Astaroth's ego. He turned to face the vampire. 'And who are you?!' he asked, his voice echoing again throughout the vampire's mind. (this isn't telepathy, just an illusory trick.) He put his hand to the large handle on his back, pullng out a sword whose blade didn't exist, but shone as if freshly tempered in the fires of Hell.

Extending his blade arm, he pointed it at the vampire. 'If you're a Hunter as well, you'll know where I can find Teslae.' he growled, the illusory echo never ceasing. 'Now tell me.'

He looks down at the demon, his anger still simmering...he simply withdraws his desert eagle, leveling it at the demon's crotch...

"First of all, i would not suggest attempting to threaten the one man who came up with the new concoction to burn you son of a bitches to ashy cinders at the pull of a trigger...second, i have no clue who this damn woman your trying to find is...and third, i am a hunter, and i have some whelps to whip before i can deal with you..."

With that, he leaps, hurtling across the square to the rooftop across. He continues leaping from rooftop to rooftop until he is out of sight...

She whirled around, immediately drawing her magnums and aiming them for his head. She did not know him, or if she did, she did not remember ever meeting him. She did not fire off a single shot, but as a safety measure, and as a sort of habit, she kept her magnums aimed directly for his head.

"Who are you? And how do youknow me?," she demanded, her crimson eyes flashing in the moonlight as she shifted her weight around slightly. Her vampiric fangs gleamed as well with a pearly, and eerie paleness as well, a flash of ghostly white and then nothing once more.

Inside of Tokeru's mind, the titanic battle between the two souls began. It wasn't a physical batte. There were no swords, and there were no guns, but the weapons were just as deadly. Tokeru built a wall of disciplined training around him and tried to crush Mephisto with his mind. Mephisto threw images of loved ones dying, of all his efforts going to vain. It wasn't just Mephisto vs. Tokeru. Mephisto's weapon and ring joined in, as did Tokeru's gods. Tokeru was not a religious person, but at this moment, he realized how much he needed them. He called on them to give him strength, and they did. Mephisto was losing and he knew it.Mephiso threw one last image, that of his lycan lover under his command. Tokeru's knees grew weak as he saw that, then with a growl of supressed rage. He pushed back harder, almost killing mephisto in that one instant. Almost destroying the Demon Lord forever. Mephisto knew a moment of panic, and Tokeru used that to his advantage. Tokeru drew on the Demon Lord's panic to make his own trap. Within his mind he made a prison for Mephiso, a prison made of love and honor. One that stood against all that Mephisto was. Where Mephisto was a creature of chaos and anger. Order and love prevailed. Where Mephisto manipulated all he knew, Honor prevailed. Mephisto was trapped, the battle was won, for now.

Now. You will serve me, as you forced others to serve you. You are sealed away in my body, if I die, so do you. Forever. I can kill you with a thought. When i ask for it, you will serve me, you will give me your powers demon lord, and you will give them all.

All of those that could see Tokeru now and could sense his aura noticed that the weapon and ring were no longer giving off evil, but were neutral. And those that could see the once good aura of Tokeru now saw a pure white soul, with streaks of black. He was not neutral, he was not grey. He was a pure good entity, that used evil for serving the people better. Tokeru would be forever changed. For each time he called upon Mephisto's powers, that white aura grew a bit darker. And so his soul started to wither, uknown to all but mephisto.

Albert's mind was in a little tussle. Watching Tokeru struggle for the moment, within himself made him think. Could he be bearing something, a soul so heavy that it speaks to him like a rush of bulls? Albert had a mind to ask Tokeru; his hand reached out and he opened his mouth,"Wha... Oh." And he quickly sealed his lips once more. Instead, he took out a piece of 3 by 8 paper, and layed it down on the floor. His inside his bag, he also took out a caligraphy brush and ink. He opened the ink jar, dipped his brush in, and painted the Chinese characters of "Holy Menace Banishment" upon on the paper.

He let it sit for a moment to dry, then picked it up meticulously, with one hand. He had walked over to Tokeru and plugged it to his forehead. It was a bizarre and strange sight to see someone place a talisman to someone's head without warning...

Albert placed himself on the floor and began chanting in Chinese,"Evil, I place judgement. The divine finish to any and all who possess the Soul. Your punishment begins, and your toil ceases. I pray, release!" And his chant ended. It was quite an astonishing ritual...

Amber, still alittle shaken, followed after Aiden. She hadn't meant to screw up so badly and now her chance for avenging Jaffar had been completely ruined... She wanted to go after them still, but she couldn't right now...

As Aiden lead her toward haven, she just silently and dully followed. She could tell that he was pissed about the demon escaping and trying to use her against him... She hadn't meant to scream and stand there helpless, but she wouldn't move... At least she had friends to back her up and she was still alive... If it had still just been her and Aiden she didn't know what would have happened...

Just as Liora began to lose interest in Tokeru's strange behavior, she noted the even stranger acts from Feather. Her specialities strayed far from the Chinese culture and theologies, so Feather's actions completely baffled her. From Liora's viewpoint, the lad had scribbled incoherently on a rectangular piece of paper and then attached it to Tokeru's forehead. The mere fact that Feather had equipped himself with such paper and such a writing utensil was strange enough to Liora.

"Figures..." she muttered, leaving the latter half of her thought process unspoken. I'm stuck with a bunch of looney tunes.

She popped the cylinder of her revolver back into place, avoiding contact with the silver bullets it held. The gun was then returned to its holster, and Liora turned briskly on her heel away from both Feather and Tokeru. Perhaps it was best for her not to turn her back to clinically ill individuals, but Liora surmised that she would sense their actions even with her back turned. The main reason she turned was to hide the expression of incredulity that had flashed, unwanted, across her face. Even as an actress, she was sometime unable to completely control her emotions or her needs. Right now, Liora felt that she needed a smoke.

Then, she sensed a subtle shift in the presence of Feather. It occurred to Liora that the strange ritual that Feather and Tokeru were doing might not be acts of insanity, but of a mythical and arcane nature that was beyond her comprehension. Such a dire misunderstanding had happened once before; therefore, it could happen again. Liora only wished to see to it that her naivity would not have such an ineffable impact on her life this time as it had the last. She turned towards her acquiantances once again. The incredulity on her face had been replaced by unabashed curiosity. Perhaps they would see her expression and provide a semblance of an explanation, or so she hoped.
