Not an hour later, Fate stirred, to her unfortunate despair. Groaning softly, she glanced towards the window. It was still dusky out. The morning would come soon. Sitting up, she held her head. The anxiety had drained her. Standing, she straightened her apparel. Quietly, Fate crept to Silver's door. Glancing inside at the sleeping Lycan, she smiled. Turning away again, she swallowed. Perhaps things had gone as planned. She could always hope. Fate silently vanished to the city for a quick 'bite'.

A little while after Fate had left, I woke up. Groaning, I could tell that my healing was slow-going. Not sensing any auras closeby, I knew Fate had left. Well, she is a vampire after all. Off to do vampire things I suppose. I need to see someone about these wounds sometime. I can't wait for my body to heal naturally, it would take too much time. Lying there, I contemplated what to do and waited for Fate's return.

Reappearing inside the apartment's living room, she hurridly closed the front curtains. Feeling vibes from her room, Fate then wandered to Silver's door. Knocking softly, she poked her head inside. "Are you awake, dear?" She hid the best she could, seeing as the sun was trying to come through that window as well. "I've returned." Her clothes smelled of human male and some blood. "I hope you slept well. Can I do anything for you?"

"Yeah, I was just waiting for you to return. Its kinda lonely here." I smiled. "I was thinking about this and I was wondering if you knew any healers? It would certainly help me get better faster." I had regained some energy from the rest and I propped myself up with the pillow. That was the best I could do at the moment. It was then that I caught the scent of her clothes. "Did you have fun out there?" I said smiling slyly.

Fate grinned sheepishly. "Oh I can't imagine how on earth you would know, silly Lycan. You've been asleep!" Entering the room, Fate hurridly shut the blinds completely. "You may open those again once I leave if you desire.." Blinking, she glanced over her shoulder. "Healers? Well, you've seen my abilities..But I can't think of any." She tapped her lips with her index finger. "There is Anne, but I have not seen much of her lately." She smiled, seeing him sit up abit. "Perhaps we can ask Jaden, if that slow flea bag ever gets here." She giggled jokingly. Silver's question caught her by surprise. Fate crossed her arms, standing on the opposite side of the bed, farther from Silver. "..Uhm.." She lifted her sweater's collar up and inhaled. "Yes..somewhat." Blushingly, she pulled off the trench coat and threw it into the same drawr as the clothes from when she'd been with Mortis. "Coffee guy." Fate forgot Silver might smell those as well. "Why do you care?"

For the first time since he'd been here Jaden entered the building through the front door. He was wearing a large, thin shirt and a pair of shredded jeans. He knew his way around places even if he had only been there once. As he reached the apartment he knocked sharply on the door. Pain shot through his hand and he smashed backward in recoil. He held up his right hand and noticed that it had begun to bleed freely again.

Fate sharply closed the dresser, shouting out the room. "Coming..!" Glancing at Silver, she blinked, and then exited to the next room. Upon opening the door, she smiled at Jaden. "Finally, good to see you.." The scent of blood caught her off guard, and she leaned in close, eyeing him. "Your new fragrance intrigues me, Jaden." Noticing his hand, she stepped aside. "Please come in. Make yourself at home."

"Yeah, i'll talk to Jaden. He might be more knowlegable." Laughing at her response to my question, I said, "I just wanted to say that. I don't know why you are getting so worked up about it. I truly don't care." It was at this moment that the doorbell rang. Jaden or Dusk must be here. It sure took them a while. I watched Fate leave the room and used my senses to hear the conversation. So it is Jaden. Good, it would be better with him. Listening some more, I frowned. New fragrance? That was when the smell hit me. Blood...I guess he had a tough time with Logan. I'm not surprised and i'm glad he's still alive. I lay back against the pillow and waited for Fate to dispence with the pleasantries and bring Jaden in.

Fate sighed some. "I may or may not have Silver out here in a bit. Bear with us. He's terribly weak, at the moment." She shuffled quietly to the sink and wet a warm cloth. Leaving the door open for Jaden, she wringed the cloth, glancing back at him. "Oh, and I'll be happy to help with that, if you would like, love." Smiling half-heartedly, she entered her bedroom again. "It's Jaden, no surprise." Taking the cloth in her palm, Fate slowly wiped Silver's face with gentle strokes. "If you'd like, I could lift you into the living area." She pressed her lips to his moist eyebrow.

(Jaden, this description of my wounds are for you and for me...just to show how injured I am.)
Fate came back into the room after talking with Jaden. "Yeah, really no surprise there. After a few strokes with her hand, I pushed the hand away. I was angry at her advice. "I can do it myself. Do you think I would actually want you to do that with Jaden here?" I said angrily. "I'll...i'll do it myself..." I knew that it was possible. I had regained some energy from my rest, but it would be hard. I swung my legs off the bed and pushed myself up. Now for the incredibly hard part. I slowly pushed myself up off the bed and stood there for a moment. Sweat streamed down my face, but I pushed on. Walking slowly, with my hand on the wall, I left the room. When I was close enough, I sat down on the couch. My face had gone incredibly pale and my breath was ragged. A few of the bruises had faded with my lycan healing, but the majority remained. Cuts were all over my face making me unrecognizable and my hands were very mangled. "So Jaden,...I was wondering...when you would...show up." My breathing was still rapid and I tried to slow my heartrate down.

Fate scowled. Fine..if that's the way he wants it.. "Excuse me for caring." Jerk. It was no wonder Fate had been alone so long. This reminded her instantly. Exiting the room, she threw the cloth at the floor near Silver's feet. Angrilly, she stormed out onto the fire escape. Gripping the rails, she slid down to the floor of it, and stared out over the tops of buildings. Frowning all the while, Fate hugged her knees and rested her chin on them. "Last damn time I suggest something generous..for anyone." She mumbled into her knee. Her eyes churned in crimsons, cold and vast.

"Fate!" I cried, but she was gone. I sighed. I have to remember to watch what I say around her...I treat her too much like I would anyone else. I reached out with my mind for her. Fate, i'm sorry. I didn't mean anything by it. Please come back. I'm so sorry...what more do you want me to say...? I sighed again after I sent this to her. My mind swirled. Things were always happening too fast and I was always caught up in the middle of it.

Fate pushed the thoughts away painfully. She was half-minded to jump from the escape. Just leave me alone for now, Silver. You wanted your independence.. She glanced downward, knowing she should stick around for Jaden, if nothing else. ..Now, you have it. A breeze blew by, lifting her hair from her neck and shoulders. It swayed in various directions, batting the open window softly. She burried her lower face in her knees and forearms again, biting her lip softly.

I closed my eyes. Why me?! Great, she has to pick now to give me independence, when i'm so weak. Angrily I sent out another thought. Really considerate, Fate! I guess i'll just sit here for the rest of the year, huh? I terminated the thought and brooded for a moment. What am I doing? I'm just going to make it worse.
Tears, for the millionth time, came to my eyes. Another thought was sent to her. Why do we fight so much? Is there something wrong with our relationship? I sent my sadness I felt to her. We need to stop this. I'm sorry, Fate. I just wish you would accept that...why don't you?
Crying, I remembered all of our previous encounters. All of the happy moments had never lasted long, from me or some other incident. Then again...most of those other problems were also because of me. It was always me...Again the thought went to her. Is it because of me? Is it me fault, Fate?

She snarled, wishing he would drop it. If you weren't a big enough man to allow your..female friend to help you, why all the tears alone? Scowling again, she stood, leaning on the rail. The wind continued to wisp through her locks, and she inhaled deeply. She felt the sorrow he sent, but no matter how hard she tried, Fate couldn't escape the stomach-binding experience. Her heart, or what was left of it, sank. I accept it..I just don't..feel it? I don't know. It was complicated. Silver in the past had always been the interrogator who'd asked her the questions with no answer. Why should now be any different? Sighing deeply, Fate turned on her toes, leaning into the window. Her pale face shot the dark corner. "No." Her lips turned sideways for a moment, as if in puzzlement. "..I just..don't get close to people, Silver." You are going to have to learn that, one way or another.. Her eyes slowed and steadied to a silver and ruby pool.
