Hey there fellow clarinettists!!! Wow...some of you got to start early... We only were given the opportunity to start playing instruments in the 7th grade. I am now in grade 11, still as much in love with the clarinet as I was when I started. Our high school doesn't have a marching band (not as much of a thing in Canada) but we do have a symphonic band, which I am in. Our music program rox!!!! This year our band is touring Italy & Austria performing and touring musically significant historical sites!! SOO exciting!
And may I just say... who loves Vandoren reeds??? They rock xd

so my name is Raven. I'm a Soprano Clarinetist (Bflat). i also play the other clarinets in the family such as alto clarinet, bass clarinet, contra bass clarinet, and the others. you name the clarinet i can play it!
i'm a sophomore at Alderson Broaddus College. we don't have a marching band, but when i was in high school at Robert C Byrd hs i was section leader/ drum major.
between my 5th grade year and my freshman year in college i learned how to play other instruments such as trumpet and all the saxes. oboe also and bassoon and guitar and piano. i also sing.
i want to be a band director, but i want to teach high school!

I love my band director SO much. He's so funny, and so lighthearted! He can turn anything into a joke, and even make stupid jokes funny, lulz. He's a good sport, too. Like, the band sometimes makes fun of him, and like he makes fun of us (Sometimes as a full band, sometimes just as individual people). And if he thinks you're extra-special-awesome, you get a nickname, lol.
But yes, enough about Mr. Helgert, I've been playing clarinet for only three years or so... But I've been told I'm good. In WSMA (Wisconsin School Music Association (A music solo/duet/trio/quartet/band competition)) I earned two gold medals in a competition two classes higher than normal...
...I also have a professional model Bb clarinet. It's a Buffet R13 Bb, with a gorgeous cherry hue... I love it...
His name is Edward.... >>

Awai_Raikaku PolaroidPieces Awai_Raikaku Hey im in 10th grade and been playing since i was in 5th my schools band are know as the "Dutch man" and we wear wooden shoes when we march... wow, thats cool it must be hard to march in those and it must hurt too haha im not really sure this is my first year marching with the wooden shoes tee... I haven't marched in wooden shoes before... but RollMasters are REALLY awesome shoes. I used them for my freshman and sophomore year and they are still shiny... they click when you walk around on a hard floor too. Only disadvantage to walking around in them on the hard floor: you slip really easily. I don't get to use mine anymore 'cause I moved to a new school and they don't you Roll Step technique... they use Straight Leg.. and we always have a Jazz run at least once in out show... but it's much easier to play clarinet on straight leg than roll step!!!
