"I follow no god, I respect and honor all of them equally. It's safer that way... if any portalwarden could be said to follow a god it would be Fate, because she writes the script of the grand play."

"It's not a bad idea when you deal regularly with so many cultures that follow so many gods. and almost every culture has some idea of a maiden of fate or luck, and do not shun a man that follows such a concept."

(( actually it sounds like a great character idea )) Aonice nodded.. "I've never been too great about gods and all that, I think people thought up gods so that they can have someone to look up to"

"Well I have never met any gods personally, but with the power that their followers attribute to them, it doesn't seem like a very good idea to disrespect them, not to mention you might anger their followers, and dealing with an angry mob of zealots is never a happy situation."

They are the scariest of them all. But all religion has its extremists. I hate how some people make assumptions based on those extremist.

Mistress Mercury gelalshawr "I have read the holy book of the Christians, it has many interesting stories, and seems very good, but the followers themselves I have heard only seem to follow the book and the teachings when it suits them." *She peered up at Gel* Or they follow the book to the letter. They are the scariest of them all. But all religion has its extremists. I hate how some people make assumptions based on those extremist. "Eh...everyone does that." Quint started, now interested in the conversation, "Blaming the many for the actions of the few. No matter what you talk about; Politics, religion, television, racism.." He trailed off, the last one striking him deeply, "No matter what, one side bases their 'facts' on how the few extremists of the other side act. I guess some people are stupid in that way.."

gelalshawr Gatz TdaMax Aonice_Mitsoku gelalshawr "I never said I know what a soul is, and yes I technically am a mortal because I still have my soul. As for why we take our soul for granted, well, that''s because most people don''t try to think about it too much, because they don''t see how their soul fits into their daily lives, it''s just something to worry about when you die." Gel leaned back in the couch, settling down comfortably, but not seeming in the least bit sleepy. "Are you saying immortals don''t have souls. " "You''ve got your reasoning reversed, Aonice. It''s just that most the things without any kind of soul period are much harder to kill because they aren''t alive to begin with." *does zombie pantomine again domokun * "Gatz is half right Aonice, but the point is more that Souls were only granted to mortals, because an immortal with a soul would be a dangerous creature indeed, with unlimited time an immortal can accomplish many things, and they have a great deal of power, but all beings of power have rules that govern them. Not so a creature with a soul, for the soul grants us free will, the power to do anything, with no limitations upon us but our own minds. I am not immortal, my body will not age, at least not in the forseeable future, but I can be killed, and quite easily. An immortal with a soul would be unstoppable. so the gods have never allowed such to come to pass." Gel waved at the newcomer and sipped his tea. "... That being said, of course, mortality and immortallity are relative things. For example, Gel here is appearently closer to the Japanese ideal of immortal than he realses."

Aonice_Mitsoku gelalshawr Gel reached out and spun the bottle since nobody else had volunteered, watching it spin and hoping that the conversation moved on to more interesting topics than himself. "Just say whatever you feel like saying." "What do yuo think the end of the world is gonna be like? Considering all the crap going on, it should be within the next couple of generations, like maybe my grand children" she asked Gel. "The end of the world itself will come about when the sun becomes a red giant and espands enough to encompass the planet." Gatz smiled. "If by ''the end of the world'' you mean ''the end of human civilizationas we know it'', that yet remains to be seen. Personally, my money''s on that you guys blow yourselves up; though some of you do seem surprisingly resistant to that possibility..." gelalshawr "Which god do you follow Caliber?" Gel looked at him honest curiosity showing in his face "I follow whichever one is walking in front of me, if only to lift his wallet and run," Gatz answered with a laugh. Aonice_Mitsoku gelalshawr "It's not a bad idea when you deal regularly with so many cultures that follow so many gods. and almost every culture has some idea of a maiden of fate or luck, and do not shun a man that follows such a concept." "I've never been too great about gods and all that, I think people thought up gods so that they can have someone to look up to" (( xd It's been done. Read the Discworld series some time. wink They have both Fate and Luck as gods (Luck's a goddess, "Lady Luck", you know?))

((... redface This isn't how it works now-a-days, but when the alterternatives offerred all involve three feet of steel, burning at stakes, stonings, and decapitation, a surprising number of people have been struck with a sudden and overwhelming need for a change of religious pratices. sweatdrop xd ))

((Wow gatz calm down a bit, you don't have to answer everything in the conversation, especially when you do it all at once, that gets confusing and irritating sometimes.))
"Yes, extremists exist in all religions, but I have found most of the extremists to either be unable to function without their belief sttructure, or they are religious figures themselves and stand to lose power if people disagree with their god. Most mortals on the other hand, no matter what religion they ascribe to, are decent people and really have no hatred toward other people."
