Lyn stood in the grocery aisle, stretching to get the box she needed off a higher shelf to put in her cart. She was getting ready for the small Reaper gathering she was hosting. The two boys would be there, Grace as far as she knew was still coming, and she had invited Archie and his girl if they wanted to come. Why leave anyone out? It was good she probably checked in with Lucky and Kevin every now and then,
not that they weren't capable. And Grace, Dereck had asked her to keep an eye on, so she would. Archie was part of the family of Dereck's as well,
and was helping him get out early. Inviting the man was no put out.

She continued around the store pushing her cart and sipping the smoothie she had bought when she had begun the excursion. She hadn't heard from Lincoln the past couple days, and hoped the man was well.
She was excited that she would see Dereck again tomorrow. Even if it was for such a short time. And then the day after that she had her next doctors appointment. Following that was Dereck and Nate's trial. When they could get an end date to this horror show. She didn't care as much about all that happened when Dereck was out of jail. Tommy, Dylan, the dogs, the Irish -
all were just bad memories. But through them she had had Dereck to make it better. Not having him with her was so much worse then living through those experiences.

Cadence's eyes widened and she slowly turned to face Grace. She looked excited and happy. It jad been a long time since she felt happy, safe, or normal. The last couple of days she had felt all those things.

"Chocolate turnovers....I was thinking small scale with the cherry turnovers. I was just going to alternate and so vanilla glaze or chocolate glaze on top." 


She had plenty of supplies to make another batch. The only thing she was missing for Grace's special batch was pickles. She would pick extra pickles up so they could have fried pickles with their lunch.

"I have to go get pickles for chocolate and pickle turnovers."

"Ew! Don't make those!" Wolf made a face.

"Hey! What Baby wants, Baby gets! Just for that, I am making you eat one!" Cadence replied as she poked his chest with her finger. He looked down at her finger then back into her face. A grin spread across his face.

"You just poked me..." The grin on his face showed he found her actions amusing. He was still staring down at her.

"Yeah and?! Want to make something of it?!" She replied and he couldn't help but laugh at her tough girl antics. He scooped her up, and tossed her over his shoulder.


She screamed and slapped at his back. She wriggled trying to force him to put her down.

"Put me down you jerk! I am wearing a skirt! You are flashing my panties everywhere!" He spun her around a few times, just to listen to her squeals of protest. Finally he set her down and watched her swagger dizzily. It made him laugh again and he listened to her grumbling.


Once she had regained her footing she stuck her tongue out at him. Childish but whatever.

" Ohhhh baby, I know what you can do with that tongue!" He replied and she put her hand out.

"Keys jerkface."

"It will cost you, baby." He cooed then bit his lower lip and looked her over. A small grunt of approval escaped him. She looked really nice today. He had not seen her in anything other than jeans so far. Today she was wearing a skirt.

"Pig." She said as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"One kiss." He said with a grin and then winked at her.

"I will kick you, then tell your girlfriend so she can kick you too." She warned and he chuckled, and fished out her keys from his pocket. He held it up high, out of her reach. He loved how feisty she was. It just amused him. She was so tiny, he had seen pre-teens bigger than her. Yet she had this attitude, he jokingly told her the night before she suffered from Small Dog Syndrome. It didn't go over well with her.

"You can't go out by yourself. So you have to wait."

"I am not going to wake the baby for pickles."

"Then it looks like there will be no pickle turnovers." Cadence frowned and turned abruptly on her heel.


She hated that she couldn't go to any of her meetings, or even the grocery store alone. She would be fine if it was just Grace and Thomas. She hated having some random biker dude lurking about, watching her every move. It was unsettling.

"So Grace...no go with the pickles. Wolf won't let me go alone. He wants us to all go. Thomas just fell asleep so we can't..." She was already talking before she actually looked up at Grace. When she finally did she noticed Grace wasn't alone. Cadence noticed Jasper was not with Grace. She was happy, excited, worried, overjoyed and so many things at once.

"Jasper!" She cried excitedly. Before she could catch herself she had raced over and hugged him gently. She planted a kiss on his cheek. 


She quickly backtracked as the heat flooded het cheeks. She was blushing, and didn't want it known. She turned her attention back to Grace.

"Uh...So...since Jasper is here, I will have Wolf accompany me to the grocery store. When I get back I will make lunch and then pack up. Since Jasper is taking his old post...He will need the room. I will take Wolf with me. He can keep an eye on me nack at my place again. I will let Titus know." Wolf had just wandered out. He looked at Jasper a moment.

"Welcome back. You are taking over here, or are we splitting the assignment?" Cadence rubbed the baby's back a moment, then looked back at Wolf.
"We have to hit Ikea before we go to my place. I need a table." Wolf nodded and pulled out her keys again. She accepted the keys, kissed Thomas cheek, then Grace and finally Jasper's.
"See you all later. The chocolate turnovers I will put on when I get back. If you can pull them I will be out of here faster. Jasper, very happy to see you upright. You could always rest another day or two though."
"We could stay at my place Cadie." Wolf offered and Cadence frowned.
"I think not." She replied quickly.
"We will keep it down this time. Be discreet." Wolf said feeling only a tiny bit embarrassed Cadence overheard him and his girlfriend going at it.
"I will just ask Titus." Wolf said as he followed Cadie into the living room then out the house. He let her drive because was her car, and it gave her a few minutes of freedom.

Soon as they were in the car Wolf looked over at her, a knowing smile on his face. Cadence stared back at him a couple of seconds before speaking.
"Shut up Wolf."
"I didn't even say anything!" He said and his smile got bigger.
"So what, I was happy to see he was okay."
"The look you gave him..."
"SHUT. UP." She turned her music to drown him out. Wolf was so annoying! He was like a combination of Killian, Jesse and Lincoln. Only was more annoying in her opinion.

Cutie Pie!

"I don't want anyone to feel crowded, or anything." Cadence said to Jasper. She smiled at him.
"I want to make sure you are comfortable, and able to rest." She patted his hand affectionately befiore she left.

It was not really that long when Cadence returned with Wolf in tow. He was carrying the grocery bags, as she came bouncing back in. Clearly she was in good spirits. She smiled at Grace, and then Jasper. She walked over and tried to lure Thomas to her. She loved playing with the baby. He was her new favorite person in the world.

"Grace, is it okay if I put these bags here while I go get the rest of the bags? Cadie went over board again." Wolf said as he set the bags on the counter.
"I did not! I figured I could make some food for this house, and Shandee's. Since you were with me, figured I might as well make you earn your cookies. Now go get those bags." She was cuddling her nephew as she spoke.
"You are so handsome! My little handsome nephew!" She cooed and kissed the top of his head.
"Okay, Grace! Seriously, take this adorable little guy or I will never get any work done." She gave him one more hug before returning him to his Mother. She moved toward the bags.
"So, Jasper is there anything specific you want for dinner?" He asked as she unpacked the bags.
"Hey, Titus is sending Dom over. He says he things it's time he rotated the assignments." Wolf said as he sat down two more bags.
"Well...he's in charge. Guess I will see you around Wolf. You know if you make the cut." Wolf leaned across the counter.
"Oh, I am so in!" He responded and she smirked back at him.
"Ehhh....I am not so sure." She said and Wolf turned his attention to Grace.
"Well....Mrs. Grace, thank you for having me. Jasper, relax. Let the girls pamper you. Bye Thomas." He used one finger to give the baby a high five. Then he leaned across the counter, and playfully tugged at a strand of Cadie's hair.
"Behave you. June 15th is the opening right? I will be there! Be sure to make plenty of Lemon Bars." He waved and disappeared. A few minutes later the rev of a bike and he was gone. It was just the three adults and the baby now.
"So....dinner ideas?" Cadence asked after a long moment.

"I have to admit, if I had to choose....Wolf or Dom to be here a couple of days. Wolf. Dom is way creepy. He never talks. He is a giant. Reminds me of Lurch from the Addams family. Though Wolf is a pain in the a**. His girlfriend is nice though. She is insanely pretty. Not sure what she sees in Wolf. They seem like opposites. I like her though." She continued putting the groceries away, singing to herself.

Once everything was away she began to wipe the counters down and gather what she would need for Chocolate turnovers, and Grace's special turnovers. She washed her hands and got started. She had just put the tray in the oven and was washing her hands when her phone started to ring. She quickly dried her hands and stepped out of the kitchen.

It didn't take long for the phone conversation to end. When she returned she did a happy dance and gave a squeal of excitement. She walked over to Grace and gave her a hug before she whirled away.
"June 15th! It is official! The bakery will be functional by then! This is just great! I was worried..." She heard bikes and then the front door opened. She turned just as Killian and Dom walked in the room.

Killian spotted Jasper and grinned at him. He walked over to him and clapped him on the back.
"So he lives! 'Bout time you joined the living." Killian said and immediately Cadence's good mood vanished.
"That's not funny Killian!" She snapped before she stomped out of the room.
"Christ! She is so touchy when it comes to him." He said to Grace. Dom stood a bit off to the side silently. The sound of another bike and then the door slamming open.
"Orion will be coming home!" Jesse anmounced as he stepped in the house. He looked pleased.
"Few more days, but it is in the works." He knew this news would make Grace very happy.

Jesse looked at Grace and grinned. "Please don't. I don't need Ryder on my a**." He replied and moved to the turnovers. He helped himself to one.
"Hey! Woman! Get out here and feed us!" He yelled though he was of course joking. He devoured his turnover in a couple of bites. Then helped himself to a second one.
"So, Jasper....I take it you will be staying here with Grace?" He moved to the fridge and opened it. He pulled out a soda and moved back to the group of men snacking at the island counter. Killian looked concerned briefly but did not say anything. He would speak on Cadie's behalf. If she had a problem he was sure she would voice it.

Though he suspected she wouldn't make a fuss. She seemed to be concerned about Jasper, and she would remove herself from the situation rather then complain. He knew how she was. The men stood around chatting, at least all put Dom. He remained silent.

After a few minutes Jesse broke away from the group. He disappeared down the hall and entered the room Cadie was currently staying in. She was packing her things when he answered quietly.
"So....I heard something interesting today." He said and watched Cadie jump.
"Jesus!" She put her hand against her mouth to keep from screaming. He had scared her, she was so lost in her own thoughts. It took her a long time to register what he had said to her.

Cadence stared back at Jesse wondering if he would hurt her. He didn't seem made, but maybe he was waiting for her to admit what she had done. She turned her back to him and continued packing.
"You going somewhere?" He asked as he moved to her bag and lifted up one of her lacy bras. She snatched it away.
"Just packing to go home. Jasper will be here. I don't want to be here while he is trying to rest. I am loud and just a handful."
"Mmm-hmm." He said not buying her excuse.
"The night Jasper got shot. After the surgery...you said you went home. You stayed there all night?" He could see she had paused for just a couple of seconds then continued packing.
"Yeah. Of course. I was exhausted, it was a really emotional day. I went home and just crashed." She was careful to make sure her voice sound light and airy. Very nonchalant.
"Uh-huh. So Wolf will confirm that you were with him all night?" Jesse asked as he stepped to her side, trying to peek at her face.
"Yup. He slept on the couch. I slept in my room. He was there all night." She said and zipped up her bag.
"Bullshit. Look at me little girl." Jesse barked and she refused to meet his gaze.
"Look at me." He demanded louder this time. After a long moment her eyes met his.
"I said no one was to go after him. No one was to touch him. He was to be dealt with later one." Silence from her.
"You deliberately disobeyed me." He was angry with her but doing his best for to be to harsh.
"Jesse..."
"No! Don't Jesse me. I am not your brother's friend right now. I am the leader of this MC right now, and what you did was stupid. Dangerous, and put the Club in danger."
"I'm not part of the MC. So don't even..."
"SHUT UP!" He gave her a little shake.
"You may not want to accept the truth, but oh well. Truth is what you did was dumb! You EVER disobey or disrespect me like that and we will have a problem. Do you understand?" She slowly nodded. He let her go and sighed.
"It's my job to make sure the MC survives Orion's absence. It is my job to keep you safe. I can't have you running off and putting us and yourself in danger. Why couldn't you just wait? Why don't you ever listen?" She didn't answer and this just made him even more frustrated.
"I am really trying to understand here Cadence! You need to make me understand, because right now I think your just a selfish arrogant little self-centered b***h. Talk to me. I know you didn't just decide on a whim to be difficult. You have been very cooperative this whole time. So why the...."
"He tried to kill Jasper." She finally said and Jesse stopped talking. He seemed to think over what she said and finally nodded his head. He understood. She would not come out and say it, but he understood what she was saying.

Ben had attempted to kill the man she loved. No matter what anyone said or did, Cadence was going to go after him. She was going to make sure he could never go after Jasper again. Jesse understood because if anyone ever hurt Wren, he would go after them. He would not rest until they were dead. So now Jesse couldn't even be truly mad at her. He knew he would risk his own life for Wren. That was exactly what Cadence had done.

He gave a weary sigh and patted her head.
"I get it..." He said and sat down on the bed. He pulled her down beside him. He was quiet as he thought.
"Should I be worried? Anything that could be traced back to you?" She was quiet as she thought. She did not want to bring Jesse into this, in case Police came around asking questions.
"His back door was unlocked. He always forgot to lock it. I found him passed out. High....I replaced the drugs he had with some that I had tainted. After that...put the stove on. Just enough for the gas fumes to get out and left. I wanted to stab him repeatedly but...it's hard to not get caught when you're covered in blood from head to toe. I hate him so much. It took everything in me to just walk away. To let nature take it's course, and make it look like an accident." She stopped talking briefly.
"The next morning I told Wolf I had to go get something. I purposely drove pass to see if his house had gone up in flames. It did and I was immediately relieved. Only thing I regret is that the b*****d didn't suffer." Jesse nodded but said nothing. Her dark side was a little bit terrifying. She had not been that way in the past. Aggressive, head strong, bossy and hot tempered, yes. Never had he heard her purposely be evil or hurtful. He wondered if something in her had finally broke, or if this was one of those things she would live to regret.
"So...you going to tell him you are still in love with him? I mean....a woman kills for you...I think that person had the right to know." Cadence shook her head quickly.
"He does not need to know anything other than Ben is dead. no one does. Not Killian, not Orion, no one Jesse." He stood up and moved toward the door.
"Wolf sucks as a babysitter...It's why if you plan on going home you will be taking Dom with you. So the choice is yours. Stay or take Dom home with you." He finally said and then exited the room. He went back to join the others in the kitchen.

After bringing the food home and stocking it in the kitchen, Lyn was in her car again. Her next visit to Dereck was later in the day, but that didn't matter to her, she would still be there. Afterwards she planned to shop for decorations. She'd get stuff for the twins room as well as for the party she'd throw for Dereck and Nate when they were released.
But first, she had to see her man.

Lyn pulled up at the jail, parked her car and walked into the building. After being checked in, and the worked ensured she was not a harm or bringing the man anything that could be used to harm someone, she was lead to a room similar to the one she was in days ago.

Once the food was ready, Grace moved to the table and placed Thomas in hig high chair, cutting up some of the chicken into bite size pieces and even giving him some of her french fries as well. But she didn't stop there, no, she poured some A1 sauce into a small bowl and grabbed some asparagus too, dipping them in the sauce and munching on them like they were french fries. In fact, even her fries and chicken tenders were dipped in the A1 sauce as well. "Bye, Killian. Enjoy your dinner with Alyvia." Thomas was actually happily munching away on his food, though he wasn't being his normal chatty self. Instead he was silent and looked at all of the males at the table, almost like he was trying to see where his dad might be, and why all these other guys were here. Normally the toddler would be chatting up a storm, but he was oddly quiet, mostly looking toward Dom, who was the only one not talking with the bunch. "I'm going to go see Orion after dinner. Anyone wanna come with?" She knew Jasper would want to, but wasn't going to outright ask because he WAS still healing.
