Ok, for the purposes of an introduction, I'll be more direct than I normally am in new situations. I was born with an outie for a sexual organ, so my parents assumed I was a boy and raised me as such. I knew by age four that they were wrong, but didn't know I could tell anyone. It was my big secret until a few years ago.
Today, I suck for labels. I'm not trans, because "I'm a woman" isn't any more accurate than "I'm a man." Not any more, at least. If I could go back thirty seven years with what I know now, I might have attempted a full transition. But, that was a long time ago.
Transgender is firmly planted in the binary and I'm not. "Agender" comes close. Mostly, I just wish society didn't bind me to my genetalia. I want to take joy in what gives me joy solely because it gives me joy, not because it's a guy thing or a gal thing.
I wear clothes designed for guys because they're the clothes that fit my body and because I live in a neighborhood where a guy in a skirt would be hurt. But, if I'm really honest with myself and stick to "who am I?" and not "who do I think I have to be for others?" I would identify firmly as a woman. So, maybe after all that, transgender does fit the best.
Sexually, I wish I had an v****a instead of a p***s, but after forty+ years, I've grown accustomed to the thing and would miss it if it were gone. I have an p***s and I prefer matching up with people who have vaginas, but I don't have a gender preference. A guy with a v****a (e.g., a transman) might be really attractive. Labels like gay, lesbian, and straight don't really fit, though, in my heart (I don't dare admit this out loud, not even in an online forum), I identify as lesbian.
Why I joined LPH: I joined Gaia to explore myself in community. I knew at age four that my gender didn't match the roles the community was pushing on me and that, while I was biologically male, I only felt myself when I could take on the feminine role. But, 37 years ago, 4 year transgender kids weren't really a thing. Having grown up in a conservative context and not able to fully explore my being in my physical space, I seek online opportunity for exploration. I also just really want to meet some nice people to converse with.
