Actually, I think Nintendo could have their first serious competitor in the handheld market as soon as Sony takes care of the flaws in the first model... And before you say OMG BROKEN SONY, I understand that the DS is not without its share of release problems.

Actually, I think Nintendo could have their first serious competitor in the handheld market as soon as Sony takes care of the flaws in the first model... And before you say OMG BROKEN SONY, I understand that the DS is not without its share of release problems. Granted the DS has its release problems, but the amount of games announced for the DS is large, not to mention that Nintendo has taken a big company on their side, Square-Enix, about ten Square-Enix games are coming to the DS, along with Namco's games. Not only that, but I believe that Square-Enix will also be helping with the DS's internet play. It has been reported that Sony is only going to release 200,000 units when the PSP is first shipped... Compare that to the 3 million+ the DS sold in its first couple of weeks. As for the images, a guy was playing the DS while being surrounded by guys with PSPs. I've had it long enough, and all... sweatdrop But it'd feel very, very strange not to have it any more, and I suspect I'd regret it the moment I got rid of it. It's funny, but it only just now struck me...that there are a number of people here who've probably never seen this avatar pre-sootface. sweatdrop Somehow, it doesn't feel like I've had it for that long...

They're still steamed at the poor treatment Nintendo gave them years ago. Also, one of the harshest reputable critics admitted that the 6 hour battery life of the PSP proved his previous statements entirely wrong. Personally, I've mucked about with a DS and was unimpressed. Nintendo would have been better off putting that money into the next true incarnation of the gameboy line, not some side project run amok. As it stands, they've now upgraded the Gameboy significantly before splitting their own market between two systems. Who do they think they are, Sega?
