Normal bantering was back and Zykariel was feeling much better now that his friend was back home and seemed to be doing alright. "I'll get you one and you can choose whether or not you want to use it. And then how you explain to Kaelin if you do." Because that wasn't his department at all. "You're privileged, you Prince. I'm the underdog so the gods take pity on me."

Malik heard the break, and glanced at hsi daughter, before walking back over to her. maybe that one had been to brittle. after all, she was only a toddler and managed to break it in half. not that he wasn't annoyed, the pieces were too small to use.

"I said to use it, not to break it. we'll just have to try that again later with a fresher one. that oen might have been too brittle."

but picking her up, and taking the pieces away and tossing them aside.

"We fixed your accident. but he has to stay here for a while. I guess we'll need to be more careful with the draithix so they don't run under your feet."

"The gods take pity on you? Is that the excuse you're going to use? Please. You're rolling in steel and it's from pity? I think they just like to mess with me because I try to stifle all your fun and you're appealing to them behind my back to make me pay. For that you can buy me another drink. I'm hurt, really I am." Kicking his friend under the table for old times' sake of things.

And on came the sullen look at his reprimand. "I'm sorry..." She had just been trying to do something or other with it and that happened to be the result. You didn't just wish really hard to things to turn into other things. It didn't work that way. Phsyical manipulation led to breakage in this case. "Dhairiss said I could play with him. He was after my laces." Knocking her boots together to indicate her boot laces that were half frayed and chewed through from the little creature.

((Pst not toddler. Toddler is < 3. Just on the small side.))

"The truth hurts, doesn't it?" Giving a snicker and then lifting his hand to call the waitress back over. He flirted with her a bit, got her name and when she was free and two free drinks out of the deal as well. "You're no more hurt than I am over that excuse for a kick. You're just jealous that they like me better than you." But returning to earlier subjects, he quirked an eyebrow. "Have you let Kaelin know it upsets you at all?"

"Safety is an illusion. There are more minotaurs, drow and dark forces down here than will be top side in a millennium." A sneer. "I'd take the snake."

"Smart. He might have pulled the wool over our eyes with that one." She shrugged. "No matter. If he thinks it's safe, then he'll walk around freely. We just need to get him out of his home and grab him."

The carriage pulled up outside the large house. Immense, intimidating, and lost on the blind. An attendant helped her out, but he knew his place and went to make sure the lizards were cared for. Not many of them left around these parts.

As Delta stepped down, the young dog perked up and jumped down beside her. She placed a hand on his head, and he began to lead her forward, towards the door he saw there.

He rolled his eyes again. Boys would always be boys in thier case as their mothers often lamented to each other." Shrugging again as was the common gesture of the hour. "Everyone likes you better than me, I'm quite used to it at this point. But no, I haven't said anything to her. Evasive subject and what not.

Piper opened the door. Indeed she was right that they would stop here. However, despite the years...this person was familiar to her even cloaked. It was the aura she had about it. "Let her in." And hopefully this wasn't a horrid visit.

"I probably wouldn't say anything to her either. Don't want to upset her even if she is constantly upsetting you." Talk flowed from there about Zykariel's newest foals and his plans to expand the business and onto what Malikhai was working on for his father. Soon though, Zykariel was calling for the bill. "I should let you get back to your wife before she gets angry with me. I'll bring you that candle as soon as I can convince my mother I need one. Or find a way to steal one."

"I don't think she'd yell at you even if she was angry with you but fair enough. Have things to get done and what not now don't I? Done the play, and it's time for work again." Letting Zykariel of course pay before they were headed back. "Just try not to have too many people asking questions, alright?"

"Well I'm not saying you can't play. but just you need someone watching. you can't see them so you can't always know where they are to prevent such accidents."

nodding lightly.

"No need to apologize for that. it wasn't like you were actively trying to break it. and honestly, you shouldn't have been able to. bones are tough, you know. that one was probably too old."

before coming upstairs and looking at his wife.

"What's going on?"

Already had that annoyed frown look going.

"True enough. but those fears they know about. better the devil you know then the devil you don't."

lightly taking her hand...he knew he had limitations still on what he was allowed to touch and do but he did what he was allowed when he could.

"I don't think he'll come out much. big enough home to have a private cook or kitchen at least. and socially his calender is pretty clear. I coudl go in and get it for you."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 05, 2009 6:53 pm

She nodded to that, rather agreeing because those things were fast and got underfoot just as quick. "Some bones." But at least that meant then that she wasn't in trouble. Letting him carry her...somewhere, back upstairs it felt like and apparently with other people. To which she knew to keep herself quiet about.

Piper turned her look to Malik as he came up, with Savryn of all people. "We have a visitor...one that we haven't seen in years. And I hope doesn't mean more ill than good.

"I promise." Which meant he left that tavern and headed straight home. Not to his house, either, but his parent's because he had a candle to steal. He'd finally learned how to hide himself from runic alarms, a skill that he'd have killed for as a teenager in Sevilin's house. Always, he'd sneak out to go meet friends or take an early morning ride and his father would be standing there, waiting for him. Then it had irritated him. Now it just made him smile. But he stole across the boundaries, sneaking in the back door and hiding in the dining room while everyone else was about the house.

His mother was in the library, his sister in Dad's training room. That meant a quick tiptoe through the hall and up the back stairs to his parent's bedroom. He'd shielded himself, not that he needed to but it was more fun that way. Now...where did she keep those damn candles?

Meanwhile, Kaelin had unpacked both himself and her husband, smoothing his clothes while she hung them up. A few times she'd lifted his tunic and inhaled his scent, the familiar smell bringing a smile before she folded it and settled it in the drawer. Time changes and traveling caught up with her and she had taken his advice and succumbed to reverie.

As Malikhai had learned early on, she wasn't a stoic in-reverie kind of girl. She splayed herself pretty much all over the bed and moved quite a bit when she was deeply in the trance-like state. It was an anomaly among elves and probably went back to the small spaces she'd been forced to reverie in so many times growing up. She'd shifted enough to kick covers off and twisted about so that her nightdress was all out of whack, head turned to the side with her hand acting as a cushion for her cheek.

He was always in trouble with Zykariel, he knew that much but he tried to put it out of his mind as he made his way home. Granted it seemed things were going on as there was someone out front. He took a side entrance in and came upon his parents and sister. "Oh no he has the look already. Is it that time of day again?" Chuckling lightly as he was passing by them. "Save the hi, welcome back and what not for when you're not having issues."

Thusly heading upstairs to his and Kaelin's room...where she was splayed across the bed in that manner that made him roll his eyes and think different things. This woman was indeed going to drive him crazy. Deciding to end his crazy he walked over and brushed a hand over her cheek. "Hey, wakey wakey."

She made a noise and slowly stirred, opening her eyes to gaze into the silver ones she adored. "Hi." Brief smile and then she realized that she'd popped off to reverie and now he was back. Sitting up rather quickly, she fixed her nightdress hastily and attempted to de-muss her sleep-mussed hair. "Did you and Zykariel have fun?" Tugging him to plop down on the bed beside her and snuggling up to his back. Not quite ready to get up yet.

He was slowly and methodically going through all the possible hiding places. They weren't in the drawers beside their bed, nor were they stored in the desk. He noticed a few things that were different about his parent's room but mostly, things never changed. His father liked it that way. Glancing this way and that around the room, he idly tapped a finger on his chin. The closet! They had to be in there.

"Well, I smell of ale and tavern but came back sober and such. So I'm going to say that we did have a good time." Indeed plopping down as she tugged as apparently she was quite content to be lazy. "I see you had a good time cleaning up and having yourself a reverie."

"I don't know why you think you're so slick. Because you aren't." Of course Sevilin knew he was there...Zykariel was no more good at sneaking now than he was when he was younger. "What could possibly be so interesting that you're looking for it that intensely?"

She laughed and brushed her fingers through his hair, slipping up on one elbow to see his face. "So you were a good elf, hmm? I suppose that deserves some kind of reward. Anything in particular you'd like?" She glanced around the room for a moment and then nodded. "I had nothing else to do and your parents are busy with something or other. Have you told them we're moving out?"

He turned and dispelled the invisibility he'd been using allowing his father to see him without use of runes or his own magical abilities though he'd pretty much figured that if his father knew he was here, he also could see him. He was just too good. Grinning, he flopped down on his parents' bed and crossed his arms behind his head. "Not interesting, necessary. I need a red candle, Dad. Any idea where Mom keeps her instruments of torture?"
