"Subdue and incapacitate. Hopefully without injury." She smiled. "I'm not going to kill people over some fetish statue."
With the knowledge of how many she might need to deal with, she entered the passage, it was clear for the moment but soon filled with a passing servant. Aella was for the moment ignored, until the woman got close enough to see her outdated silks, no longer being worn since there was no longer a harem here. Before the woman could even gasp, Aella whacked her over the head with her staff.
The woman went out, the she gingerly set her aside on the floor. "She won't be out long. We have about 5 to 7 minutes."

A slight nod and he moved past the servant girl...keeping eyes on ears quite open and alert...then went back and grabbed a rag out of her clothes. and onward they went, he let her lead, only stopping for another servant that was cleaning an ajoining room to have his head meet the wall rather abruptly.
"We'll get the statue, drop off this rag, servant takes the initial blame. before they realize she doesn't have it, we'll be long gone and no one will remember we were ever here."

She shrugged. "Good enough then."
She lead the rest of the way to the statuette which had been tucked away on a book shelf. Obviously, it was more of a nick knack here in the underdark than on the surface, where it would probably end up either being displayed on a pedestal or hidden away in a personal stash.
The statue itself was of a female figure of definitive race, plump and round. Considered to promote good fertility, a good luck charm, but topside it was seen as some weird fetish doll.
She grabbed the statue, stuffed it in her silks "Alright, let's go."

Dropping off the false evidence and gesturing past to Aella and moving to an open window...before scooping her up and jumping out, spreading wings and gliding out past the palace back into the deep water and landing lightly.
"Mission accomplished."

Surprised by the flight but otherwise fine, "That takes away half the fun."
She glanced back towards the palace and sighed. Maybe it would have been more if she hadn't bribed those guards.
"I need to bring this to the people who are collecting. You can't come though, they'll think I'm trying to rough them."

Time Warp! - Ten Years Later
It had been a rough ten years. Out of all the things she endured in her life, it had to be the hardest most trying period of time she had ever faced. The pregnancy had been rough enough with everyone fighting…even if she had gotten her way. Her daughter’s birth even more trying as they both almost died. That, however, hadn’t been the worst. Malik was angry…and she didn’t blame him. She understood…and it had been a trial in itself to convince him to at least not hate Savryn completely. All the while she had been sick enough to probably be classified as near death’s door.
That ebbed in three years and things had started to settle. That changed three years ago when Savryn was five. Piper blamed herself for that…after all, if she didn’t have the near constant need to be holding the girl and taking her with her everywhere she went, it wouldn’t have happened. She knew better than to take her to Malik’s study as well, he always had something going….one moment of setting the girl down and little elves being attracted to shiny things, and her daughter had almost died again. Instead she was lucky enough to get away with just losing her sight. If one could call that lucky.
The last three years, were better than the others she supposed. Savryn was learning to get around and the strain between Piper and Malik had reached a point where there was almost none once more. The tension seemed to only come when her, Malik, and Savryn were alone together…mostly Piper’s fault though as Savryn tended to garner more of her attention.
Dhairiss, while still flighty as ever was still at home and working on his own studies of sorts. In his free time he very much enjoyed being with his little sister. Perhaps because he enjoyed the wonderment he could get out of her as he helped her learn what things felt like and how to navigate without her eyes as her primary mode.
Meanwhile… Malikhai had recently married Kaelin. Which Malik made a big affair out of, much to his son’s protests and eventual thanks as was the way all things grand Malik took to turned out. So with marriage and the burden of handling more business.
Of course for Sevilin, it was all a drop in a bucket and he was stoic as ever. Though he was still training Faate in her own runic studies.
Savryn was softly crying as she held the little bundle in one hand, the other held out in front of her to feel her way around. She was still learning and often ran into things or tripped over other things. It was even harder not having both her hands to use. But she was managing and trying to not be too upset…she didn’t want her parents to be angry with her for this. If she was too upset then mama would know and come looking. She didn’t mean to do it to him…he just got in the way and she tripped and he made a bad sound. Then he didn’t move. Now he was in a towel, tucked under her arm. She just had to make him better…and when hurt things went downstairs, they were made better. So she just had to take him there. Finding her way to the stairway that led downstairs, even if she wasn’t supposed to go there, she placed a hand on the cold wall and tried to use her boot toes to feel out steps…they were steeper than the regular ones. But she had to make him better!

She sat in the library thinking as she mindlessly repaired another one of Kelligrin's tunics. It seemed silly to do so since he wouldn't be home anytime soon to pick it back up but it was her normal activity right after he left again. He'd snuck off yesterday morning with little more than a ruffle of his hair and a packed lunch. Rebellious teen turned mercenary. At the very least, he fought for those who couldn't fight for themselves, taking out those who would exploit them or cause them harm.
As she always did at moments like these, she surveyed her children and her own life. Lyssie was finally finding her way though there were many times when Zahara and Sevilin had despaired of that girl doing anything but sulking. She was a master at that. She'd worked for the tailor at Twilight for a bit to make some extra money and discovered a passion for clothes. Now she owned her own shop in Deepwater and was working on becoming a cross-plane entrepreneur. No closer to settling down, of course, her daughter was a free spirit like Zahara imagined she would have been if her childhood had been different.
Kit and Faate were her rock children. Faate was still studying, still at home, still doing everything the very same way she'd done it ten years prior. Her only friend was still Mykorian. Kit was a teenager and her baby even as he grew older. Sometimes she could look at him and see a youth perched on the cusp of manhood and other times he seemed to be a little boy once more. Kit was her last one.
Her firstborn had made quite a name for himself in the racing circuit as well as the bedroom, the latter she was less than pleased about as was his father. All her children were attractive but Zyke, as his many fans called him, was the spitting image of his father minus the reserved nature that made his father not as noticeable.
He'd settled down from racing and she'd turned over her horse business to him. Now he bred and trained racehorses and even took on a young jockey or two when the mood struck him. He and Malikhai had made a fortune during his racing days and both would easily be set for life.
And Sevilin...he hadn't left her yet and hadn't changed too much either. Their relationship had grown and strengthened as parents guiding their children through the obstacles of life and also as lovers, deepening the connection they'd had since Malik had thrown them together all those years ago.
Zahara herself was facing life with a much more quiet dignity than she'd had when she was younger. Her brashness had tempered and her violet eyes had seen more pain and heartache than she liked to think about. Some of which she herself had caused. Her relationship with Piper wasn't as close as it had been once upon a time but that was her fault as well. It had been no secret that she was concerned about Piper carrying and birthing a third child and she'd attempted to take care of it. Getting Piper hooked on the poison that would kill her child hadn't been the wisest of actions but at the time, it had seen the quickest and least painful. Malik had become suspicious, the truth had come out, and for a while Zahara was banned from Twilight. She'd been called back after Savryn's birth and had taken care of Savryn until Piper put a stop to when the baby was still young. That one decision had cost her more than she could ever totally express. Mostly though, her life was better than she could have ever imagined.
An official member of the D'vinn family. It still shocked her even after a week of having it. They'd left for Andal shortly after the ceremony and had been spending time in a small cabin in Torea ever since but now it was time to return home. All was not completely blissful between the young couple, however, and Kaelin could only trace it back to that outlandish suggestion he'd made of what the two of them could do to entertain themselves. At first she'd honestly thought he was joking but he seemed serious and she reacted badly. He'd backed off and seemed more upset with himself than her but she couldn't help noticing that things hadn't been quite the same since. "Happy to be back?"

Delta was now the spitting image of her mother. By now, she had well surpassed the ages of her predecessors. Mielikki had died after less than 35 years, and yet Delta was nearly double that now, give or take, but she didn't look a day over 26. All thanks to her father, whom most referred to as 'The Hooded Man" back in the day, who had manipulated her genes for lasting life.
This lasting life is what concerned her now. Although it hadn't bothered her per say, she still had a possible 23 siblings who were not so...mentally stable.
Unstable science projects - where she supposed she too had the potential to wreak havoc - who may or may not have also been granted the longevity that she sported now.
She stood, and called for traveling clothes. A deep hood pulled over her face drew an uncanny resemblance to her father.
They would not be happy to see her.
Aella had become something of a renowned thief, although no one knew what she looked like, which was just fine with her. She had taken to wearing masks now as she hunted, to avoid the possibility of being recognized elsewhere.
She moved about constantly, staying in Honoursfeild or Deep Water or where ever she could find a place to lay down. She mostly avoided Twilight, she was a reminder of hard times and people, and was not usually welcome.
Though she was half-elf, her contempt for humanity had bubbled down to a deep loathing, leading her to secretly wish she could purge herself of her other half.

"Yeah it's good to be back home you know? Andal is great and all but I'd rather be here any day." Pressing a kiss to her cheek and plopping an arm around her shoulders in old and comfortable habits. Granted, things had gotten a bit awkward but hey, thats' show new thigns were and there was no point in rushing things. Sure, ten years had passed but not much had changed in some regards to things...taking it slow was the way with her and she was sure that Zykariel was going to rag on him after some sort of manly talk. The thought made him cringe a little bit as Zykariel had never really been forgiving. Regardless of Kaelin was his wife or not. She'd just take some easing into things. They had all the time in the world. "And it was a good resupply trip for you as well. Next step...probably moving out of here." Yup, still lived at home.

He was still being affectionate which she considered to be a very good sign and he hadn't approached her about his suggestion again. She was fairly sure any wife would be horrified though and had been afraid that he'd turn a cold shoulder to her. After all, part of her parents relationship had been categorized by dominance and submissiveness. Even Malik was the head of his household and Piper deferred to him and his authority in some things. Not all, of course, and that was why she'd felt she could say no. Now it was back home with them and that meant their normal schedule once more. She laughed, "I can probably paint for the next five years with all the paints you picked out." She opened the door to Twilight, letting Malikhai handle the bags like he'd insisted and immediately jumped back.
"There you are!" Grasping the woman he considered his sister, he gave her a firm hug and tapped her on the nose. "Had a bit of fun in Andal, did you, sweetheart? Well, that's good. I've been waiting for you two all day. You don't mind if I steal him away for a bit, do you? We have some catching up to do."
"Umm...no?"
"Great. Malikhai, you and me and two ales are waiting in Vesendar. Let's go."

"Gods Zykariel is there a day that goes by that you don't scare at least one woman?" Shaking his head but letting his friend handle his wife, carefully of course but Zykariel was good about that. While he did that, he set down their bags before turning his attention back to the two. "Fair enough, Kaelin why don't you put your paints away, maybe get some reverie. No, I have no clue when I'll be back you know how Zykariel can be." Clapping his friend on the back. "Alright you're first to catch me back home so you have first dibs. You're paying too."

Anger and Fear would be the best two words to describe Malik the past ten years. Once he'd found out about the poisoning...he'd been nearly ready to kill Zahara. In fact Sevilin had to physically restrain him almost.
and they did have to physically, and runically, restrain him during the birth..at least as long as they'd been able to without risking his life from his bond making him fight with everything in his arsenal against them.
Once he'd gotten intot he room...by removing the door...he'd called on every diety and necromantic trick and power he could to keep Piper in the living world...and once she'd been safe...hadn't even bothered to look at his daughter and stormed out of the room.
He spent as little time around her as he could, and never smiled much beyond the slightest hint of a grin at her...when she had played with the object in his study...he's emotional barrier had cracked, and he'd done everything he could for his daughter. and was now working on methods to try and give her some semblance of sight back.
alone with his daughter and his wife...he still cooled a bit, mostly, though he'd never admit it, from guilt. his wife took care of thier daughter and treated her well...despite that she had nearly died from her daugher's birthing. While he coudl only replay that fear and pain in his head.
But his head perked up...he knew the sound of his daughter's steps. because they were unsure and slow. why would she come down here? she knew better. so he left the necromancer's lab for the moment, and walked out to the stairs. trying to not sound confrontational or angry...as without her sight she was far more sensitive to sound and tone of voice.
"What are you doing, daughter? you know your not supposed to come down here."
Onyx was more known as the Thief's muscle. He aided and stayed with Aella as often as he could..and though their relationship had started getting to where it used to be, with a few 'dates' he wasn't pressing his luck so much. while Aella wore masks to hide her identity, he was open to whom he was and if her jobs needed killing...more often then not he was the deathbringer, while she handled the thievery parts.
His father had gone back home some time ago, though surprisingly after his help in restraining Malik and with Piper...those two had finally seemed to bury that hatchet to a point that it wouldn't be a hassle. They woukd never like eachother...way to long for that. but they could be in the same room without them looking at eachother like one was just waiting for a reason to gut the other.

"Many days, in fact. Although normally they utter sounds that are fairly close to screams." He gave Kaelin a wink and then grinned at the man he was as close to as his own brothers. "I have a feeling I'll be buying many times now since you have a wife to support." Five minutes later thanks to Jerick and Fueriee, he was settling into a comfortable booth in their favorite tavern in Vesendar and contemplating his friend across the table. "We drank to your execution last time we were here. What shall we drink to now?"
The joke went right over Kaelin's head but that had been going on a lot lately. She frowned at the thought that Zykariel made women scream and suddenly became much more uncomfortable around him. But he was gone soon enough and took Malikhai with him, which left her alone with two bags and nothing to do. Carrying them upstairs, she started to unpack.

These stair were not pleasant things! They were slippering and irregular and made getting down them very slow. Ears twitched at bootsteps that she was starting to get used to recognizing as her father's just as she was nearing the bottom of the stairs. She tried to be good for him and not cause trouble, because then he was happy with her. Would he be mad if he found out what she'd done? Not that she could hide it too much, what with the towel being rather blood soaked now and dirtying up her hand.
Taking the last few steps down the stairs, she reached out in the air until her hand found his pant leg and gave her some point of reference. Hanging to him for a few seconds she took a single measured step back and took the bundle in both hands, somewhat looking up to Malik as her eyes welled with tears again. "I broke him...I just want him to be better." In the towel? One quite dead from being crushed baby draithix, it's scales not yet hard enough to protect it from such child accidents. "It...it was an accident. He got under my feet."
He nursed his drink for a moment before shaking his head. "Well...I don't think I have anything else to drink to. Or that I have things to drown my sorrows in I suppose. Though let's get your teasing over with, I'm still a virgin despite being married. Go on, let me have it and order me another drink."

Zykariel's eyebrows shot up and he actually almost dropped his drink. Setting it back down, he folded his hands on the rough table and shook his head, musingly. "So you didn't sleep with that woman in the bushes that time. I always wondered but you'd never say." The full effect of his statement took a bit longer to hit home, but when it did, Zykariel's face clouded in a worried frown. He'd talked to his friend and knew how eager and excited he'd been before the wedding. Therefore, it stood to reason it was Kaelin who had stopped such things. "What happened?"
