I feel that Saddam was taken down to 'one-up' W's father. Think about it, Saddam is one of the few MAJOR things that George Bush never managed to finish. "W" comes in and all the sudden Saddam is a huge target. Once we got him, all the real push seemed to evaporate, and the war in Iraq became the fallout of a crusade to do what the president's father never accomplished.

. . . and even though it came from a villian, I agree with the sentiment of "Death is a release, not a punishment."

Quote:

I submitted a few ideas for the MassRP subforum.
They included: A stat-based Fire Emblem RPG (I've seen it work, I was part of a forum that made it happen), a stat-based Ragnarok Online RPG (This one I'm not so sure about, but it CAN happen), and lastly, the final idea, which I doubt I can make work(but will try anyway), is a Mass RP based off of Final Fantasy XI Online. I'm looking at the guidebook in front of me as I type this; with the multitude of classes and occupations, there's limitless possibilities of what could happen.

EDIT: Another idea occurred to me, and it sounded kinda stupid, but I'll mention it anyway. It's basically a mass RP set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender, but it's sort of a spinoff to the story. It would be a great RP, especially if someone wants a huge RP basically focusing on warring nations. There would be leaders for each nation and such, training areas, battlefields, etc . . .

I've seen that you have ideas, but as i told you originally you need more than just "i'm going to do a stat based Ragnarok Online RPG". My response to that is ".... yeah... so?" You want to do a "mass" Rpg, try setting it all up and bringing it to us saying "this is what i'd like to do, and other than some *minor* tweaking, it's ready to go. We need more than just "i want to do this" I want to see story, i want to see character gen, I want to see history, and environment. I want to see a cohesion in the story and some evidence that it can remain cohesive.

Yes I'm very particular and very protective of this, because i want to see something awesome that shows time, effort and imagination.

Ohhhhh, kay, should've told me earlier . .sorry . . .

Anyway . .

*goes to dig up mass RP stuff from tons of unlabeled backup CDs*

EDIT:
*comes back for a bit*

Is anyone really still interested in a 2nd V:tM Chronicle? I kinda feel like there's really no love for the stuff. It's making me less enthusiastic about doing it.

So I just checked the local disk space (I'm a know nothing when it comes to computers) and our compy had less than a gig of space left..whoot...so I am now going to have to be in the process of making data cd's of all my music and pictures. half hr. per cd.

Anyone see the screenshot they have of the new battle system? It looks much better than I expected... then again, I was expecting a boring turn-based system. Hope it ends up fun blaugh
PostPosted: Thu Nov 09, 2006 8:21 pm

Heh, it seems that everyone else is againt the death sentence.

Yeah, the new battle system could still be turned-based to account for different internet speeds. It reminds me a lot of Crono Trigger as far as the layout of battlers and enemies goes.

V:TM doesn't seem to have taken off as I would expect it to. Who knows why- perhaps it is the Uber-Literacy required. Perhaps it is just that most here are not into the political intrigue that game focuses on. Perhaps it is just not a forum that lends itself to dark RP that well. *shrugs* I will not frown upon a second Vampire RP made, but don't have high hopes for it.

As for backup disks . . . the last time I did that, I got 7 disks of Naruto off the comp. sweatdrop Thank you Sama-San for showing me how to do this!!!! heart heart heart the only downside is I am addicted to Naruto! ninja Otaku no Jutsu!!! Also a good way into Sousei no Aquarion, got all of Elfin Lied a while back, a good portion of FMA before I lost interest in the Japanese version, all of the Macross and New Generation seasons of Robotech. Gods, I love my anime.

As for the battle system . . . I reserve judgement. What I saw was not overly impressive, but semi-functional. *hides in a corner* I like turn based combat.

I like turn-based combat too, I just don't like it so much on the internet. The last two games I played with turn-based combat online were neopets (yeah yeah... I know...) and Adventure Quest. They both got kinda boring, 'cause it usually seems like you can't control much. Unless they've changed (which they very well might've), all that happened was basically clicking attack and hoping it would hit. Not all that exciting. I do like turn-based combat, but more of stuff like FFX, for online games, I prefer some type of action.

Ne, ne... I'm gonna work on getting a Ninja Headband, again...

*watches the 49th episode of Naruto*
I made an OC, and I wanna see how well I can make my avi look like her... but in order to do that, I need the headband...

I'm STILL in a lottery for one, when I first wanted one, but nobody buys tickets, or anything...

Ehh... going from 2k to over 350k is gonna take a while, but I want to try it again... *gives the creepy look Lee gives when he's all deturmined to do things*

I sorta gained new respect for Lee, but Gai-sensei.... Still creepy x_x

I loved the turn style of FFX . . . because it showed you when a turn was going to come up- and it was reshuffled based on the moves you made. Turn based, but more realistically based as well.

I was lucky enough to have a person that cared for me a great deal. She happened to have both the Horns of the Demon and a letter for the Ninja Headband in her inventory. She is so generous that she let me have them. To date, I have yet to find a way to appropriately pay her back, even if she has moved on to a place I no longer reside.

Lucky!

Though, these huge quests I start on, and possibly wind up just quitting on, is a challenge for me... to see how long I'll last before giving up.... Otherwise, money, and gaiagold just burns a hole in my pocket sweatdrop
If there's something I want, and I have the gold for it, I usually buy it... and then screw up my whole quest deal, and quit from there... Though, I usually quit before spending the gold... neutral

*runs off to watch more Naruto while thinking up ways to get the gold for her headband*
