The sounds of children playing filled the overcrowded living quarters of the orphanage. Kids ran back and forth in the narrow paths between the rows of bunk beds, playing tag and screaming at one another. On top of one bunk Yae sat cross-legged, her face hidden behind a book. The young orphan was oblivious to the commotion around her; when a book captured her interest she might as well be half way across the planet.
“What are you reading?” came a voice so soft it was barely audible. It was Isaac, one of the younger orphans. He couldn't read the cover, so he was forced to ask. Yae didn't answer right away, she kept reading for some time. The boy knew better than to ask again, the older girl was known to have a short fuse when it came to interruptions.
When she was finished Yae sighed and closed her book, the pages colliding emitted a small thud that was drowned out by the surrounding rabble. “I'm reading about the shinobi academy,” she explained, the corners of her mouth tilted slightly upward in what was her version of a smile. “I've decided I'm going to leave for the academy.”
Issac grinned up at the bookworm, his eyes sparkling excitedly. ”You're going to be a ninja? And learn to fight? And kill nomad invaders?” The boy continued to spew questions at an alarming rate, the violent aspects of shinobihood the focus of his nonstop interrogation.
After the first three questions Yae stopped listening. Jeez~ I'll let him keep going, hopefully he'll tire himself out. When the end seemed nowhere in sight she finally interruped Isaac. ”No, no. I mean sure I'll learn some of that, but I want to be a medical-nin,” she stated, her tone had a hint of annoyance. She grinned as the boy gave her a confused look, his head tilted slightly. ”They focus on healing others in combat,” she explained, ”like a medic.”

Watcher detects a light blue tint in the windows across the road and knows that only a few more hours remain before dawn. He has learned from a thousand similar nights that the blue tone will gradually brighten, first to gray and then to a pale yellow. The sky over the build-ing behind his back won’t grow bright enough to offer a true reflection in the paned glass until just after dawn, when his human employer will awaken and begin to stir. Watcher ponders this as he stands motionless in the doorway on the dark street, eyes and ears ever alert for threats to his employer’s warehouse. Despite the darkness and the danger of his nightly vigils, Watcher looks to the coming day with resignation rather than anticipation. Daylight brings the hustle and bustle of city life, and it will no doubt bring the hollered commands of his employer and her sons. Although the night can bring confrontations with thieves, daytime life is more complicated, more troublesome. At night, this part of the warehouse district can be so still and quiet that for hours at a time Watcher feels as though he’s the only living thing in the city. On such nights, Watcher thinks about the Last Warand of his former comrades in arms who now work in other parts of the city. All of them were adrift after the Treaty of Thronehold declared them free. When their unit was told of the treaty’s meaning, they simply stood waiting in the rain for three days until their human commander returned and ordered them to disperse. For months they wandered the roads and traveled through the wilderness aimlessly. Eventually Watcher suggested that they try doing what humans do in peacetime. All of them have jobs now, and Watcher rarely sees them. A few work in the mines outside town, some are part of the city watch, and several work as salvagers when ships run aground on the reefs in the bay. As Watcher contemplates these things, his hands work with a knife and a piece of wood. With swift and deft cuts, he whittles almost unconsciously, carving a small block of wood into the shape of a lizardlike creature he once saw flying over the battlefield, its rider casting lightning down with a forked wand. When finished, he places the wooden monster against the side of the building and picks up another block of wood, never taking his eyes off the shadowy street. Inevitably, the sun rises. Watcher gazes impassivelyas the first morning travelers go about their business. Most passersby deliberately ignore him, which is a vast improvement over when he first started work at the warehouse. Some people spit on him as they passed, calling him a job stealer. Watcher could do the jobs of two or three humans, so the hostility made sense, but he had to work somewhere to pay off his debt for the repairs done on him when he arrived in the city. A dwarf dockworker Watcher had spoken to once gives the construct a habitual nod as he passes and Watcher nods in return, pleased by even this small affirmation of his presence. As usual, the neighbor-hood children come squealing up to the building togather up his night’s carvings. One of them surprises Watcher by having the courage to thank him instead of simply grabbing a toy and running away. In an hour, the coach of his employer arrives, andshe and her sons step down to enter the building. Watcher follows them in, and when there is a break in their morning chatter, he gives his report of the night. Afterward, Watcher steps back outside to await other commands, hopeful that they’ll require his services elsewhere in the city. Instead, one of the sons comes to tell him to stand ready in the warehouse to unload wagons. Watcher thinks the man’s name is Barro, but his employer has six sons, and they all look too similar for him to tell them apart. Watcher unloads wagons for a time. It’s simple work, and Watcher’s mind is free to wander. After a while, the sons and other workers sit down to eat, signaling to Watcher that it is sometime after noon. They return to work shortly, and everyone works hard and fast. As the light outside the warehouse doors dims, Watcher notes that the activity in the warehouse does not diminish. The other workers are sweating and doing the curious things typical of humans becoming tired. They yawn more frequently and become clumsieras the evening wears on, and eventually Watcher’s employer orders them to go home. “Watcher canfinish the rest,” she says with some satisfaction—and Watcher does. It takes him several more hours to stack the unloaded barrels and crates, but he does so without comment or complaint. Standing in place or lugging heavy cargo—it makes little difference to Watcher, as long as he has something to do. Watcher checks one last time to make certain he has done all that his employer asked him to, and then he steps out of the warehouse into the cool predawn air. After locking the door behind him, Watcher turns his back to the door and steps into the doorway, assuming his customary post as guardian.Watcher notes the yellow tone in the windows of the building across the road.
In an hour or two, the dwarf will walk by again and another day’s labor will begin. Watcher spends the time before his employer returns wondering what it might be like to be a dockworker or to join his old comrades in salvaging cargo from the sea. Perhaps next year, he thinks, or maybe tomorrow.

[The setting of this RP will be at night, in a civilian store. Matsumi is 13 years old, and is a Genin for the purposes of this sample.]
Shitome Matsumi took a deep breath. She looked up at the shop she was planning to raid, knowing that it had great security. Of course, there were other, easier shops to steal from, but that'd be no fun. The thirteen year old girl was wearing a black suit that covered her body, complete with a black mask that hid her bright blue hair. All that was visible of her facial features were her dark red eyes, her peach colored skin and the small jutting of her that showed the position of her nose.
She went over the positions of the security system she could see before in her mind, but knew the list was incomplete. The genin scaled a building adjacent to the one she was going to rob, using her chakra to stick to the wall. She didn't want to walk up the wall of the store and get seen by a camera she missed. Reaching the roof of the building she climbed, she looked at the roof to see if there were any cameras. Seeing none, she jumped onto the roof, and she rolled upon her landing, silent as a ghost.
She looked at the ventilation on the roof, and briefly considered entering through there. Immediately, she discarded the idea. That was too cliche, and predictable. Not to mention boring. She scanned the roof once more, saw a door. The girl snickered. She thought of how awesome would it be to just walk in. It'd also be unexpected. Matsumi knew the cameras were just black and white, as she had examined the model of one. She'd completely blend in with the darkness.
Her decision made, she peeked through the window of the door, and immediately noticed the camera above it. She smirked. Perfect. Knowing the door was locked, Matsumi used a hairpin to fiddle with the tumblers. Slightly opening the door, she reached up and removed the tape from the camera, removing it's ability to record. She walked through the door and closed it silently. She walked cautiously down the steps, and twisted her head around the doorway. Nothing. She had to avoid the main part of the store, and was pleased to find that she was in the back of the store.
The office was also in the back of the store, and so that made it close. The thief made her way to to the office, the lack of cameras surprising her. Then she froze, just outside the door. A thin line stretched in front of her, threatening to ruin her plans. Slowly, her foot retreated from the line, and Matsumi hoped to Kami that it wouldn't snap. After all was safe, a breath that she didn't know she was holding was released. Matsumi stepped over the wire, and opened the unlocked door, her gloves hiding the fingerprints.
Once she was inside the office, Matsumi quickly located the safe. She crouched and began to crack the safe, using her chakra to unlock the pins. She did it in short bursts as to not leave any chakra residue. Once the safe was unlocked, she sniggered and took exactly one thousand Yen, knowing it was enough to be noticed, but not enough to make sense. She shut the safe and let it lock itself back. Now it was time to leave.
Taking the same way out, she came back to the camera she disabled. She put the tape back in, and let it continue to record. She walked out, rolling her eyes at the ease of the robbery. This was supposed to be difficult. The thief ran and jumped off of the roof, running through the night. (Yeah, the ending sucks, and it is rushed, but I'm in a hurry.)

Graduation ...graduation ....the young girl squinted her eyes slightly as she watches the movement of the crowd. She made no moves of her own so far ...she simply watches it all. The way that people talked, the way that they walked, and the little things that they did.
She licked her lips lightly as she tries to keep from losing concentration. Her eyes narrowing to points ....as she waited ..as one of the people in the crowd a man would suddenly stop. Something that was odd because the rest of the crowd seemed to just continue to walk on by and he would drop his hand to the ground and the little golden watch would come into view.
It was time for her to move ...as he stood back up and walks away and the girl was off like a starter gun. For there was many things of value in the world, there was gold, there was money, there was family, and then there are friends. But, for her and her group there was something even more important, and that was ....secrecy.
So much more important than any of those things, and if one learned how best to hide in plain sight ...they would learn to gain things worth so much more than any bit of cash can be.
A shinobi when they die have someone recover or destroy the body. Why? Because bodies are dangerous, secrets are hidden on bodies, and those bodies secrets can sometimes be so important ..so powerful that they can bring down a nation. Oh, there is so much you can do with such secrets bride a nation, destroy a village, or simply insure your own safety from that place for all time to come.
There was a lot of things that those bodies could do, but where to get them. Not in the field, for there are people looking for them, and it means you have to be able to outwit a shinobi.
Not by murder yourself, because like before you have to get around those that would come for revenge.
At what time would the bodies be likely to go missing and no one notice for at least 24hrs. Where there will be no clues of what you have done, and no one to chase after you?
There was only once place in his mind the morgue, but to get there ....you have to be apart of the village. One of them, and that was impossible for a adult, but for a child.
This was what she was trained for as she sprinted from her hiding place as though she was happy and excited. For there was other children doing the same as they showed off their new forehead protectors to each other. Dashing through the crowd of parents that seemed not only proud but for once satisfied with the world as their child graduated from the academy.
Felicia would be one of them soon ...as she darted where the head band protectors were all kept and then with the phony one on her head would start a conversation with a boy that didn't recognize her. Which was very possible considering that not all shinobi attend the academy as some are trained by their parents and then ...at the end tested by their peers.
She would pretend to be one of those as she backed up towards the table and waited for that moment where the same man that had dropped the watch would distract everyone. A show of fireworks as she then took that moment to switch her own head band protector with another.
She smiled lightly ....as she walks away to get a better look at the fireworks. A lie, but one that would help cover up what she had done ...for though her fake was convincing enough as long as one doesn't pay attention ...it would never hold up to the long glances that would be needed for when they set their plans in motion.
A thief posing as a ninja.
She chuckles lightly to herself as she headed back the way she had come. Mimic their walk and when it was needed mimicking their talk. Though she wouldn't be able to reach her place ..as a hand falls on her shoulder, and a man ...one of the testers looks down at her.
"What class are you in?"
She was completely busted.

Perfection. Pass.

The Ninja Academy Classroom
Hakora walked into the classroom and looked around; first to class, what else was new. His movements were not in a hurry, but were not slow. He took a seat near the back of the class, but not the very last row and his spot was off to the side near a windows.
As other students began to trickle in, Hakora just sat there with his elbows on the table. His left hand made a fist with his right hand cupping his fist. His chin rested on his hands and his eyes were closed. Both his eyes were a sky blue, but something was old about them, some said the blue in them moved around.
He could careless as more and more people arrived for class and some girls tried talking to him. Hakora got mixed emotions from girls, some were terrified of him and others had a crush on him, he could careless how they felt. The teacher walked in and began class. It was Hakora's final day in class and he'd finally get out of there.
The teacher talked about the final test and giving pointers, yet Hakora kept his eyes closed and the teacher tuned out. Then a Kutai came at Hakora and hit right between his elbows. The normal reaction would be to jump up in surprise or to come to attention. Hakora did neither. His eyes slowly opened and he eyed the teacher with a, "You're dead." Look on his face. "Hakora, since you seem to be too good to pay attention, you get to be first up. Come up here and make a clone." Hakora sighed at the simple task ahead of him. He turned and faced the class and began the hand signs. On first try, he made the clone. The teacher was annoyed that the best student in his class, never listened. Then Hakora smirked, both Hakoras.
Lightning began to form from his right hand and his left hand grabbed his right bicep. Hakora and his clone began to focus their chakera into their hand to form the highest ranked move Hakora knew and used often. After a few moments he held in his hand the Chidori. He smirked at the teacher as this was not a jutsu he was taught from the teacher. Hakora decided to return the favor the teacher payed to him to try and wake him up. He turned and slammed the Chidori into the wall and left a large mark. With that he ended the Jutsu and clone and left the classroom. The teacher passed him against his better judgement.

Pass Hakora.
Though...
Kutai? I think you mean Kunai.
Also, Chidori is banned... But that doesn't matter in here, it's just a sample of how good you RP...
Chakra is also another one you made a mistake on, once.
