Fun fact, many amish have Electricity in their barns. They also have cellphones and computers there too.
They're only not allowed to have electronic things inside their homes.
Also during Rumspringa, the adolescent years of most Amish children/teens, most of the strict and harsh rules of the Amish can be broken and the teens' strange behavior overlooked.
This allows the Teen to; explore the outside world, drive a car, have premarital sex, explore drugs, and to explore alcohol... among many other things.
