Chase watched Rin for a moment and then turned towards Elsa. "Are those ears real? I thought they were part of your outfit or something," he said, only to be elbowed by Cherry. His question had been as rude as if someone asked what gender Cherry actually was. "Ouch! Disregard what I said.""Alright. Two steaks and three burgers, comin' right up," Orion said as he exited the car. He checked around to make sure nobody from Legion could see them, and then he peeked back into the car. "Scorpius, I might need your help for this one." He gestured for his brother to exit the car and come with him. The two of them would have to carry all the food back. Orion then winked at Aries and Raki. "You two play nice now," he said before he and Scorpius left."Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" Raki questioned, trying his best not to sound panicked. He wondered if Orion was doing this on purpose. With luck, it would turn out he had misinterpreted Aries so-called 'addition to his personal agenda' and nothing would happen while the two were away. If Raki had guessed the hidden message right, at least the doors weren't locked.

Elsa glared at Chase when she heard his question, she had promised not to talk about that in front of Rin and even then she wasn't sure if she would want them to know about how they got their ears. She gave a soft sigh and put her food down. "They're real..." she said softly, munching on some fries. Rin looked as though she was unphased so far but Elsa knew that once she went into detail that her sister would go into a depression state and they didn't need that right now. Aries shot a curious expression over at Raki and couldn't help but chuckle a little. "Put a little bounce in your step did I? he asked with a small smile, leaning against the back of the seat and placing his hands behind his head, closing his eyes again for a while. "Chill Raki....I'm not gonna do anything when we're in a car with only five minutes." he said softly. "I need more than just five minutes." he scoffed.

Chase's next question would have been about how Elsa and Rin got the ears, but the glare sent to him by both Cherry and Daniel made him go quiet. Must have been a really sensitive topic. Hearing their order number, he quickly got up to retrieve the food for himself and his sister.That didn't help much, but at least Aries had a little self-control. "You're not getting anything from me, that's for sure," he said anyways. With a sigh, Raki just closed his eyes and questioned himself in his thoughts why he decided to get into such a mess. Would it really be worth it in the end?

Elsa quieted her glare when the twins left to grab their food. Explaining their past wasn't something that was easy to swallow, even thinking about it bothered her. Elsa grabbed the last burger and stood up. "I'm gonna eat in the car." she mumbled softly, heading out of the restaurant after grabbing the car keys on the table. If the twins were serious about their curiosity then she figured they would follow her. If not, then at least she would have a nice quiet meal.Rin watched her sister leave and was a little disappointed but at least Elsa left her fries on the tray and that was enough to make Rin feel content for now. She continued to eat as if nothing had happened, quite happy with the meal she was having, though she was happy with any meal really.Aries smirked but he kept his hands to himself. "We'll see about that." he muttered, already working on trying to get to sleep.
Scorpius was the first to come out of the restaurant with food and the car keys. He popped the trunk open and managed to open the crate a little, so he could give Leo the second burger, forcing the kid to sit upright and taking the tape and cloth out of his mouth. The poor boy was so exhausted and weak he could barely lift his own head. Scorpius unwrapped the burger and held it to Leo's nose so he could smell what Scorpius was doing. Once Leo took a tentative bite, he managed to gain just enough trust to scarf down the rest of it. He didn't care what his brother's thought of him, letting such a young boy starve to death was uncalled for. After the boy was finished Scorpius stuffed him back inside the crate and shut the trunk.

Cherry finished her food quickly and excused herself. "I'll wait at the car," she said as she exited the restaurant. With a yawn, she complained to herself that everyone else was eating so slowly, only stopping her personal rant when she returned to the car and got back into her seat.Raki spotted Scorpius head to the trunk with a burger in his hand and suspected what he had planned to do, but didn't say anything. The guy really is a big softy. Closing his eyes for a moment, he tried to take a nap, only for a car door to open and close and a bag was dropped onto his lap. It seemed Orion had returned with the rest of the food."Eat up, everyone. We got a long way to go," Orion said as he handed the orders to Aries and Raki. "Who knows how much closer Legion is at this point?" Opening up his own steak, he began to dig into it like a ravenous wolf. He would start the car again once everyone finishes.

Elsa saw Cherry get into the car as well but didn't think much of it as she continued to finish her meal. "Your a fast eater." she said softly, keeping to herself instead of picking a fight this time.Scorpius got back into the car to eat his burger which didn't take long. A big man usually ate a lot so a simple burger was usually consumed quickly. Aries snatched his boxed steak, sometimes he loved this city, there was only one city he knew of where you could get a steak to go. Even if it was technically a steak sandwich, but it was much the same.

"In this situation, yes," Cherry said, hardly noticing the lack of annoyance. "Sorry about my brother. He sometimes doesn't think about anything." She refrained from asking about Elsa and Rin's ears. It wasn't a very important topic anyway.Orion quickly finished his steak and threw the box outside, not caring if someone got annoyed at his littering. Starting the car, he soon drove back onto the freeway and toward Mexico. If he drove at a reasonable speed, they would be there in a few hours. They could risk a stop at a hotel if need be, though.

Elsa didn't make any kind of snide remark. "So um....you and your brother were...born? Like the whole doctors and pregnancy thing?" she asked softly, taking another few bites of her burger to keep herself preoccupied. She really didn't want to tell someone she disliked about something so sensitive but maybe if Elsa said something then maybe they would get off her back about being homicidal one minute and remorseful the next.

"Yeah, we were born. Why?" It was an odd question to Cherry, and it was even stranger that Elsa was asking her, but maybe this was the first step to the two of them finally getting along.

Elsa sighed. "Must be nice....Being born I mean." she said softly. "Me and Rin weren't really born that way. More like created." she said, finishing her first burger. "Our 'father' was kind of a mad scientist....I don't know if you remember seeing the news cast about embryo's gone missing from a donation center. He stole them and experimented on them." Elsa could have kept going but she wanted to pause for a moment to let that amount of information settle.The Crazy Tomboy ((I think that's a good idea.))

Interesting information. "Well, you're older than I am, so I don't think I ever saw the newscast to begin with," Cherry said. "So, you got your ears from those experiments?" It would explain a lot. She never heard of any mutation that gave people cat ears. Then again, there did seem to be a mutation that gave people powers. "You know, I wouldn't know what it's like to be born. Too young to remember and all."

"Oh stop being a smart a**. I'm trying to be pleasant for once." she remarked, unwrapping her second burger and taking a bite. "I mean you don't have to walk around with freaky appendages like we do. People actually like your mutation..being twins I mean." she said softly, finishing the bite that was in her mouth. "Anyways that's not all....It's almost impossible to steal just two embryo's, the other's died. Me and Rin were the only two who survived. It was a few years before they caught the guy. The police were so disgusted with how we looked they didn't bother finding foster homes for us. So we were forced to live on the streets for a few years." Another bite. "Sometimes we ate out of the garbage...sometimes we would steal a few bucks from the little baskets at church services and get something from the convenience store." Swallowed. "That's right around the time when Daniel found us."

Cherry raised an eyebrow. Did people really hate the cat ears? "I don't see anything wrong with your ears. Actually, they look kinda cute," she said without thinking. Not that she meant anything special by it, but it was her opinion. "So, how did Old Damican react when he found out they were real? Wait, that was a stupid question. He obviously wasn't disgusted or anything." She reached out to touch one of the cat ears. "They're really soft. So, do you have human ears as well? Or are these your only set?"

Elsa flinched a little when Cherry reached for her ears, almost afraid of what she was going to do with them but after placing a little trust in her she realized that Cherry wasn't out to hurt her. "Apparently mutant humans are an abomination." she replied, allowing Cherry to answer her own question about Daniel. "Yes we have human ears too but I don't think they do anything. I hear through the other ones." she said softly. "I didn't want to tell you guys in front of Rin because....she had a vision when she was younger about him experimenting on the embryo's and went into a sever depression. She wouldn't get out of bed for a few days."

"That makes sense. I'd be depressed too if I saw that," Cherry said as she retracted her hand. "No wonder you're so loyal to Old Damican. He took you in when no one else would. What happened on that day? Did he just find you or maybe you took something of his?" The story was interesting yet sad. Maybe she shouldn't be so hostile to Elsa from now on.
