Adi bowed low, "we cannot-" but he shut himself up quickly, knowing it was impossible to tell the king. "please forgive me, masters. i have been incredibly rude. i have not told you our names. I am called Adi by my master, this is Kate and Heather." Kate was the ever silent bentien who kept his eyes down at all time and Heather the one who'd been targeted by the king earlier. they bowed low when they were introduced, their names not meaning much to them, but the masters liked having something to yell. Lewis nodded, "nice to meet you Adi, Kate and Heather. let's all eat, that means you three too, and head out, ok?" Leo smiled at KAshi, "really it is fine. you did nothing wrong, everyone should be allowed to sleep in." he gave Elliot's hand a small squeeze and finished the food placed before him. thankfully there had been vegetables and fruits enough that he was able to eat his fill. Tsume snorted a little, "i could also tell you fifty ways to stop a dangerous person, but that matters little. you boys are safe. so long as you stay with us, you're under my protection as well." there was a knock on the door and a woman walked in with three gold chains. she smiled at the men and placed them on the table, bowing low, "for the bentiens, my lords." she backed out with no other word and left. Lewis and Leo's eyes were locked on the leashes, both feeling a bit ill. they remembered being lead around by similar chains all too well.

      Kashi smiled at the three, knowing what they were going to say. "I cannot read or write either. My previous owners never taught me but I have learned how to associate symbols with items despite my not being educated." "It is a pleasure to meet all three of you." Alvaro said happily. "Now let us fill our bellies!" Elliot nodded, letting go of Leo's hand and finally allowing himself to eat. Kashi nodded. "You're extremely safe around Tsume! I'm a hare and he hasn't tried to eat me yet!" Elliot looked up as the woman, or bentien he couldn't tell, walked in with simple gold chains. He stared at them as they rested on the table, looking at them curiously. There was no collar for them to be a leash, just what appeared to be an earring on the end. Then he remembered. Leo's tongue had a hole, these were leashes of the tongue. reaching across he plucked one and brought it closer to look at, food forgotten. In their tongues. Two sides to a culture... Silver eyes looked at the bentiens one by one, judging them silently before looking at the silent one. "You, please come here a moment I have an order to give." and moved so the other may sit beside him before brandishing the leash. "Pierce my tongue with this." he stated simply, dipping it in the wine before removing it, drinking the rest of it for himself. "There, alcohol cleans everything. There is no worry over infections." And looked at Kate, offering her the leash. "Pierce my tongue. That's an order." Would he do it or would be deny it? Their orders were to never hurt a master, but this was an order. The prince was curious to see which they would choose, offering his tongue to the other.

Istavia's eyes widened at the pince;s words. "oh-ho-ho! brave little prince, but foolish very foolish to pick dear little kate." he laughed, sitting back as he looked into the mirror that reflected a view of the room. a bentien knelt between his feet and he stroked the slave's head, enjoy it's services as well as the show. "let's see how he handles the pain." Kate instantly stood when ordered to sit by the prince. his eyes were a deep, chocolate brow, but they were empty of any form of life. he accepted the chain and blinked a few times while the order sunk in. he was too far gone to question an order from a master, even one such as this. he carefully grasp the prince's tongue, moving forward with the sharpened end of the rod pressing into the prince's tongue before his hand was abruptly pulled away. Heather and Adi watched in horror as Kate obeyed the prince. they hesitated to interfere, it was an order after all, but they couldn't allow Kate to mark a master as a bentien, she would be killed! Heather pulled Kate away while Adi snagged the chain, bowing to the ground in front of the prince, her forehead touching the ground. "please forgive us, master. we are sorry, please, we cannot allow-" but to say something like that was defying the master even worse. "i-a master cannot bear a slave's piercing, master. please, forgive us." Leo sat very, very still, his eyes wide as he watched. he wasn't even sure if what he was seeing was true. Did Elliot really give that order? Heather and Adi pulling poor Kate away broke him out of his spell and without thinking he got up and moved away from Elliot. Tsume followed him and he let the bigger man wrap his arms around him, holding Leo close as he shivered. it hadn't been a simple ring that had placed the hole in his own tongue. it had been a thick needle pulled from the heart of a fire, turned white from the heat. he'd been tied down to a table, his tongue stretched out and held in a clamp while the master watched. it had hurt, gods it had hurt and while he was tied down, the needle left in his tongue to cool, the master had taken him over and over, his screams and tears driving the man on. Lewis stood up, his eyes wide as he looked at Elliot for a long moment before walking over and slapping the boy across the face. "You could have gotten him killed! do you realize that? if he'd obeyed and pierced your tongue he would have been murdered for harming a master!" Kate huddled against Heather who held her close, watching the men in this room with fear. they might not hurt them, heather was hesitant to believe that, but they were still dangerous to her and her sisters.

"I trust you three to take care of my fiancee while you are out. Tsume and Kashi will also be there to help you along as well." and gave a small smile, raising his ears once more. Alvaro looked at Lewis with a eyebrow before kissing his head. "At least he apologizes for his actions." Elliot did not respond to Tsume and instead stood up. "I shall be in my room. Please continue enjoying your breakfasts." and turned on his heel to retire. he had caused damage and di not wish to stay in case he worsened it. Kashi frowned, looking back at the three. "really, he is not always so foolish." As soon as he saw Elliot moving away, Leo followed, slipping into the room after him and simply moving to stand in the man's arms. "you're an idiot." he whispered, closing his eyes. "such an idiot, why would you even do that?" Tsume let Leo go, sighing softly, "he's not going out either. he's not going to leave Elliot's side while we're here. i'll stay with them, or would you rather stay, Kashi? doesn't matter to me." Lewis nodded, "good thing too. i'm not sorry i smacked him but his face..." the looked on Elliot's face had hurt. Adi nodded a little to the hare, "we know. he didn't mean to-he does not know the rules of a bentien. Kate-" he glanced at their companion and lowered his eyes, "Kate has been damaged beyond repair. she simply lives to obey, a perfect bentien by the standards of the masters." and it was true. she was ideal, what every master wished their bentien to be save for the ones who liked a fighter and they were the ones who made Kate the way she was. "please, masters, eat. the food grows cold, forgive us distracting you." Elliot looked at Leo, surprised for the second time that morning before holding him tightly. "I wanted to see how dead bentiens became, I know Uncle is in bad condition, and you may never fully heal from your own scars, but I had to find out. You could never hurt me when you still had the mindset, but I had to see how terrible Istavia truly was to these boys. Hearing it from you is one thing, but seeing it is entirely different. They have no souls." "I will stay, Tsume, someone must protect the King and Prime Minister, they are more open targets then Elliot and Leo will be here. I shall stay to protect them." Kashi then looked at Kate sadly, "Kate, please, have something to eat." he said softly. "And the rest of you, please." "It was no distraction, it was a learning experience. And really this food is delicious I could not help but rudley eat while watchimg." and looked at Lewis, kissing his cheek before whispering, "El deserved it, there is no need to be sorry." Leo nodded, "i-i," he closed his eyes, "i can't help but remember. when i see them-i remember everything. i just want to forget. i don't want to remember anymore." Lewis nodded, "i think if we are going to be leaving them we should have one of the boys stay as well. Heather, dear, would you mind staying to serve them while the rest of us go? or were you wanting to go to the bazaar?" Heather had obviously been hurt enough to have to try and hide a limp. walking around all morning wouldn't do him any good, so if Lewis could get him to stay that would be ideal. Heather looked at Adi who nodded his consent. "if that is what you wish, master, i shall happily stay." he was grateful to not have to spend the day walking around. this man at least was very kind. Kate had obeyed when she was told to eat, taking small bites under the watchful eye of Adi who was eating as well. "we are ready when the masters are." Tsume nodded and put his hand on Kashi's shoulder, "be careful. even here there is danger. i don't want you to get hurt," he said softly so only Kashi's superior hearing would pick it up. "I am sorry." he murmured, stroking the other's hair. "Just two more days at most, just two more days I promise, then we shall return home." Kashi nodded at Tsume, placing his fingers over the tanned ones, speaking in the same soft tones, "I shall be safe, I promise. You be safe as well, Henry is old but not fast and Megan must be close to fight, you are their warning." and glancing back at the other two he looked back at Tsume and placed a small kiss on his lips. Alvaro nodded. "I think that if everyone is well fed, we are ready to leave to the bazaar! i am very excited! I shall not leash any of you, I trust you all to stay close to us. Hold onto our sleeves or clothes if you must but there will be no leashes." Leo nodded, "maybe we can try to find my father while we are here. he-the king will be keeping an eye on us, but maybe if i concentrate i'll be able to sense him." Tsume smiled at the shy kiss, "i'll do my best." he promised, giving Kashi a small hug before moving to the group that would be leaving. "Master ordered we be leashed. a bentien cannot go out without some type of leash, please forgive us." Adi said softly, bowing to the king. "Then we shall improvise." Lewis took up the chains and used the stud to double back and create a loop, the pin of the stud going through a chain link to hold it in place. these he slipped over the two boy's wrists and nodded, "there, that is sufficient as a leash. and we wont hurt you was we go along."

Elliot nodded. "We shall look for him too even if the king is watching us. But concentrate when you are well. I do not want you getting sick." And Leo was still pale. if Leo's father was being hidden by the king no doubt he was being tortured, and in Leo's condition the prince didn't want him to sense that if it was true. Henry finally stood, him and Megan having been silent through the meal. "A smack upside the head might have done yoru boy good. Figure how many times you've droped him it might be ineffective." "It's too warm to wear coats." Megan said, "Even though it's winter you should both take your outermost layers off." "Then I shall have to re-pin everything." Alvaro said, taking off his jacket and handing it to Megan. "I will," Henry said, "But I'm sure for a trip to the bazaar it can be ignored. Tsume, you shall lead the way out, your senses are better than ours."

Leo nodded, "I really am ok. as well as can be expected when in this situation." he sat down on the bed, looking up at Elliot. he was silent for a long moment before he looked away, laying back to roll on his side. "you are still an idiot." Tsume nodded, "that's fine with me. Adi, Kate, you two stay in my sights at all times. i haven't been around you long enough that you're completely in my radar so i need you in sight. i can sense the others." it was true, but he also wanted to have a visual on the two of them just in case. Adi nodded and stood, holding out her leash to the taller man, KAte following and doing the same, "then shall you hold these?" Tsume shook his head, "the king will hold them. they are long enough for you to stay in sight. i need my hands free." Adi bowed and held the leashes out to the king, having collected Kate's to make it easier. Heather sat quietly where she knelt, watching as the others got ready and left, heading out. she was left alone with the hare, the prince and Lily in the bedroom. she bowed to the hare and smiled, "may i entertain you in any way while we wait, master?"

Elliot stood there, allowing himself to be analyzed by his fiancee before giving a small smile. "I know, my love." He feared he would never hear the end of it. "May I lay down in bed beside you, Leo?" he could always try shifting into a lynx and lay on the floor instead. Alvaro took one gently, wanting to offer one to another but knew it could not be Lewis, and megan needed her hands, Henry gave him a somewhat deeper frown meaning no and Tsume couldn't. "I suppose I shall hold the both of you, then. Let us go to the bazaar!" Kashi took a seat on one of the overly-plush pillows, looking at the group depart before looking at heather. "Conversation is fine." he said with a smile, looking at heather before his ears lowered. "I was in a position very similar to yours a long time ago, however I did not have the luxury of asking if I could entertain. They merely took what they wanted." and smiled somewhat sadly before pouring him and Heather some tea. "Did you eat enough? We are allowed to eat more."

Leo would never give up the chance of being held by elliot, no matter how mad he was at him. "lay down." he waited for the warm body to rest beside his, his back still turned to his lover. "do you have any idea what it's like? can you even imagine? i just-i don't understand why you would ask Kat to do something like that. and so help me, if you say it was just because you were curious i'll drown you in your own fluids." Tsume nodded and followed the two bentiens out into the gardens and from there the gates. the guards glared at the bentiens as they past, sneering at them, their eyes hungry and knowing. he was impressed with Adi, he just walked past as if he didn't notice, Kate walking listlessly beside him. he met the guard's eyes and after a momentary stare down, they actually looked away and he smirked. bitches, the lot of them. at least they know an alpha when they see one. Lewis staid within an inch of Al, not daring to stray father than that. he kept his eyes straight as they passed the guards, thanking the gods that Tsume had drawn their eyes away as he passed. "if they are still put together the same way, we need to avoid the southwest area," he whispered softly, "that's the auction house." Heather smiled, a small heartbreaking smile, "asking gives the impression of wanting. if the act is wanted then there tends to be less pain." he looked away, "acting like you don't want the master's touch, resisting at all only gets them excited. it makes them crueler. bentiens learn early on to pretend, to ask." he accepted the tea with a bow but didn't touch it until after Kashi had his first drink. "i have no need of hunger, it is something not necessary for my duties, but i shall eat if you wish it, master." he looked at the hare curiously, he claimed to have once been like Heather. did that mean he was like Lily and the Minister? had he been a bentien too? "did they-did they save you? like they did..." he looked to the closed bedroom door, afraid to speak Lily's true name but not wishing to call him Lily either

Elliot moved into the mattress, wrapping his arms around the other and pulling him close in an apologetic manner, face buried in the other's hair. "For Kate to be so dead on the inside, I could only imagine. I wanted to see how truly empty bentiens become. You know Uncle has his moments of emptiness." and clung to Leo tighter, "I was not aware that as I child I was almost witness to them until my mother took me out of the room. Not that I know and understand, it must have been a stressful relationship for both of my parents, but they still loved him so dearly." Henry looked at the guards Tsume was not staring down, his owns stare-offs landing seconds longer but in the end they too looked away. "These guards do not know how to fight properly." he muttered. Alvaro nodded. "I do not wish to go far today. Perhaps the northern parts of the bazaar will suffice. That will be a walk on its own if we go east to west." Megan did not hold back her glares, walking behind the men. It seemed though the men preferred bentiens to women but the ones that did stare she glared. Kashi nodded in understanding. "I hardly had time to even ask with most." and took a sip of his own tea. "I wish for you to eat if you are hungry, but please. I am a servant, there is no need to ask." and took another sip, pausing and looking at his reflection in the tea bitterly. "I was not saved, I worry that this is nothing more than an illusion my Mistress has placed upon me. At the time I thought it salvation, but now I know that I was merely sold into the royal family's care like a pawn that is placed on a chessboard. Too be sacrificed." and chuckled "But I must admit, this is a very welcomed illusion, even Reta is much kinder than my Mistress has ever been to me. I knew not of happiness until I served the royal family." and turned to look at the bedroom door. "I am glad that he can make Prince Elliot happy. He was as cold as the ice he controls when I first met him."

Leo closed his eyes, "i was in the harem with Kate when i was brought back here. the things he did to her-to all of them. she was unlucky. she survived. the rest of them died. one by one, slowly being tortured to death while we watched...it is no wonder she is lost." Tsume snorted, "spoiled palace guards. in the middle of their fortified kingdom of death? why would they need to know to fight? that's what all the farmer's boys they steal from the lands are for. they can all rot, the lot of them." Lewis nodded, "that is a good plan. stay clear of the auction house, i can't-" even now, the sounds, the smells everything was so clear. stripped naked and on a pedestal, men shouting out numbers, bids going higher and higher as the fought over who would be the next to whip him. "the-the food market might be interesting....or the north. as far north as we can be." Reta was kinder? Heather had to keep control over his expressions when he heard that. "you're mistress must have been very cruel." he said softly, keeping his eyes down so that the anger couldn't be seen. he was still young, still new by bentien standards. his hair only reached his waist. "i am glad as well. i was here when-when Lily was brought to the castle. she-he," Heather closed his eyes, trying to pull himself together, "he was in poor condition. had gotten a hold of one of his master's knifes and slit his wrist. guess he was trying to escape, but it didn't work. it never works. Master had him placed into his personal harem...that's where Kate was before he grew bored, having broken her. now she works in the castle harem with the rest of us."

Elliot nodded, clinging to the boy tighter. "I am sorry you had to witness that. I am truly so sorry. For you, for Kate, for everything in this wretched country." and curled around Leo, forcing the lithe body to curl slightly as well. He did not wish to know what had happened, he truly didn't. "You may share your worries with me, if you wish. You know I am here to comfort you." "That is true, I am sure if we challenged them now they could not even wield their swords properly. Nothing more than decoration on their hips." "I am surprised on how much skin their armor shows." Megan observed. "I will be taking off my gloves but will be lowering my sleeves. Kate, Adi, do well not to touch me." But she was standing away from them, the king and prime minister a wall separating them. They would be fine. "Yes, the food market! Lovely idea! Let us see what cuisine Reta grows! Figs! Figs are expensive in the mountains!" Alvaro exclaimed as they entered, seeing the prices. But he knew economics, Reta could grow them as natural produce, Nalaenir had to import them and make up for spent money. "She is indeed. Kasp has sciences centuries ahead of our world, the sciences can induce the deadliest of diseases in less than an hour but will in turn use medicines one by one until realizing what can cure it. Your skin can be covered in boils, rashes, even boils that bleed pus as black as night. If you are near death, they use black magic to cheat the Grim and bring you back for more testing. If you are a displeasure to you, they will do as they please to punish you for they have the means to heal you quickly. You are lucky, your face cannot be wounded." Yes the President had clawed his eye out with her own nails, looking so gleeful when she had done it. But the hare nodded, listening about Leo, prince Leo. "He is related to the king you know, Leo.' Kashi murmured, knowing he shouldn't be telling. "He comes from the wilds in Falia." and moved his tea, appearing to take a sip but speaking. "I have seen the future of this country, Heather." and finally did take a sip, looking at Heather before placing down his cup. "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly." and took a fig, biting into it.

Leo shook his head, "i can't. i want to forget, i have to forget. i can't keep remembering, i'll go mad." again. he took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, but it only made him stiffen. "he's here. the king-he's here!" he could smell him, feel the evil of the man drawing closer. "We're alone, Elliot, he's coming!" Tsume grinned at and Henry, "take the country from the inside. i like it." Lewis shook his head, "it will never work. you will never be able to kill the king and so long as Istavia lives, so does Reta." Adi wished they would shut their mouths. she'd have to report this all to the king upon their return! "the food market is here, masters. please, enjoy yourselves." Heather closed her eyes, "master do you wish me to express pity or should i be humbled for believing my life as a bentien hard?" he opened his eyes and looked Kashi in the eyes, "or maybe you simply wish to prove you are better than I for you have risen above your past while i wallow within?" "Tsk, tsk, tsk," Istavia said, walking into the room and grinning as the bentien turned white at his presence. "that is no way to speak to our honored guest, servant though he may be. perhaps you need to be retrained..." Heather was shaking, she'd forgotten her place and the master was here to remind her. "I-I am sorry, master. pl-please forgive a humble slave." she bowed low, her head pressed to the floor. the footsteps of the king grew closer, his trembling worse with each step. Istavia shook his head, "you do not deserve forgiveness, slave. such wrong you have done..." his foot caught the bentien's ribs and he had the satisfaction of hearing a couple crack. the slave curled up, hands over it's head as he continued to kick it, begging pleas of forgiveness whispered from shaking lips. "come, boy. you should punish him as well, it was you he insulted." he pulled his whip out of his belt and held it to the hare, smiling darkly, "then again i could just kill it now if you do not feel a whipping punishment enough." what would the boy choose? would he whip the bentien or refuse and allow Istavia to kill it before his very eyes?

"We would not literally do it, Prime Minister.' Henry said, giving a small look that said he most likely would and wouldn't hesitate in doing so. "We have good relations with Reta at long last, to destroy it would be blasphemous." "Enough talk about war and fighting." Alvaro said, moving to look at all the food. "And lamb! Lamb is so cheap as well!" "Goat is more tough than lamb to cook.' Megan murmured, looking at the cheap prices and wanting to buy some for the trip back home. But she couldn't, there would probably be plenty at the party. "Oh look, hare." She pointed out, suddenly very glad Kashi had not come along. "We'll be fine." Elliot murmured softly, wanting to calm Leo down. "Father no doubt left someone with us. They will distract him." And listened carefully, ears raised. Oh no, his father had left Kashi with them. "I-I am sorry! I did not mean-!" But had he been trying to get pity or was he trying to make the other feel humbled? Confusion and guilt swarmed in his stomach until Istavia's voice broke through the currents. The hazel eye turned in shock before he stood and bowed low, seeing how pale Heather was and how terrible he was trembling. The hare gave a small yell as he heard the ribs crack, covering his mouth and now looking at the king. "I-I was not insulted." he said, looking at the offered whip in fear, remembering when a whip was sufficient punishment when he envisioned wrong futures. Could he whip the bentien? Should he? Would the bentien prefer death? He didn't want to see Istavia kill it, though. Oh, but he had a gun, if he shot Istavia he could end it, and they didn't have to do anything bad to the bentiens. They didn't. The thought took seed and grew rapidly in his mind. It could work. it could work. "King Istavia what are you saying to my servant?" Elliot asked, having told Leo to close his eyes and holding his hand tightly. There was a servant on the ground. "Kashi!" Elliot snapped, knowing full well what he was thinking. "Sit!" the hare obliged, trembling with sudden fear and realization that he had been planning to murder a king. Him. Murder. He felt very cold, suddenly. "Leo, check on the bentien." he murmured before looking at the king, "What happened?"

Adi smiled at the King, "yes, we have a special breed, master. they are strong and muscular, but their meat is soft and very, very good. our master has his own flock cared for most lovely by his personal staff." Lewis smiled and pointed, "look, they have sweets as well. you can only find these in Reta, the sugars a special strain coming from their newly acquired lands down in the south." Tsume let out a huff, but he knew he and Henry were in agreement. both of them would be more than happy to rip this country apart. he was pretty sure Megan would agree with that as well. Istavia stood with his foot on the side of the bentien's face, pressing it down into the carpet as he surveyed the prince, "my slave insulted your servant and i am punishing it as it deserves." his eyes fell on Lily and he smirked. the whore's eyes were on the slave, wide and frightened, but filled with a need to help. "your servant has the right to whip it himself, however it seems he's too weak. you really should train them better, prince." he lifted his foot and gave the slave one more good kick, sending it sliding half way to little Lily, "it's worthless to me anyways. a bentien that doesn't know it's place might as well be dead. do as you like with it, prince." he turned and left, whistling softly, "oh-" he paused at the door and looked back at Lily, "Georgie says 'hi'." he turned and sauntered out, heading to his private rooms to scry on the group once more. this was better than beating his brother any day. Leo hurried to poor Heather as soon as he slopped moving, kneeling down to look at the damage. the side of his face was badly swollen, there was a lot of internal damage and he was coughing up blood. a rib might have punctured a lung. he had all but forgotten the king until those words, those horrible, terrible words came from the doorway. "Father?" he whispered, remembering the king calling his father Georgie on that terrible night. his father was alive? Heather weezed for breath, coughing up more blood, distracting him. "It's ok, it's ok, Heather. i've got you." he immediately set to healing the boy, but with this much damage it was going to take a while.
