wampum is made from quahog shells, its the part of the shell that has a purple color to it, and is culturally valuable (and evidently EXPENSIVE for true wampum, not simulated) to various native american cultures/people depending on location and such. ugh >> at these prices i'll never have genuine wampum bracelet XD

i not a super fan of the color, however, wampum shells in person, youcan't really mimick the style/color x.x its mazin.
