Hilda was one name I had in mind for her mother.

As for the name Nelo suggested for Freya's mom, that sounds like a random enemy name that shows up once in a while in Disgaea. xd

Hilda seems like it'd be in place for something like Outlaw Star. Think it might be the name of someone in it, though I'm only vaguely familiar with the series in question. Definetely wanting to go for something that can work for both sci-fi and westerns, a la Outlaw Star and Wild Arms.
On a related note, I had the idea that she too would have a bit of the valley dialect, but also incorporate a bit of "southern belle" type talk.
If all else fails, I suppose her brother can be Veron the Fifth, though I imagine that would cause confusion. ^^;; Perhaps a variant of it might work, like Zeron, or Verton ...

Kriemhild is the heroine from the Nibelunglied. most people know it as Wagner's Ring Triology, aka Flight of the Valkiries.
She is the wife to Sigfried, the hero who bathed in a dragon's blood, and is invincible, save for a small part on his back where a leaf covered it and is his achilles heel.
And she kicks a lot of a**. When sigfried is killed, she basically manipulates everyone to go to war against the dude.
