Galesen looked at Malikhai for a moment before the boy was force to keep back and tend to his mother. Though he looked at Malik for a moment before he drew his blade and grinned. "I was waiting on you slow pokes to get moving." He rested the blade dull side down on his should before he looked at the others. But he went outside anyway and knew the others who were going to fight were going to be there soon enough. "Me? A coward? Don't make me laugh. But you better take a good long look at yourself because you're still hiding yourself from us! So, stop being the real coward here and actually show yourself so I know what my great-uncle looks like before I kill him." Galesen believed that his uncle was not expect him to be the one that he was going to face, he probably thought his great grandfather was still alive.

He jerked slightly at his father grabbing his arm and started at the man for a few moments before sheathing his sword and heading back inside. He would be arguing if it wasn’t about his mother and such.
“Not particularly to Andal…but that’s the convenient choice. Rainsong, anything happens and I kill you.” Thusly giving a look to his eldest that said get on it and passed a look to his wife with a nod. “Well then…since I can’t put him on a pike in the front yard, we might as well go join the fray.” Sliding his polearm to rest in it’s belt across his back however…he was going the rune mage route this time.
“Death threats. Charming.” But apparently this was how things were going to be and she merely turned on her heel and headed upstairs with the two older boys and proceeded to gather everyone together while the others dealt with what was outside. Including the stray child or two that had to be gathered from other places. When all were ready, it was a simple trip downstairs to the rune gate there and on to Andal.

Oblivious to the dramatic goings on in other pats of the unerdark, Onyx and Aella continued their light hearted chat.
Looking through the ceiling like she might be able to pierce through it and see the sun, she sighed. "Sometimes I suppose. My kin are up there now, probably thriving."
"But I'm also afraid of it. A world full of light, without walls at every turn. A tunnel-less, grassy place of clean air and clear water." She re-tied her top knot as she spot. "Seems to perfect to be true. A set up for a hard disappointment."
In another city, two others where intent on the goings on in the Twilight area.
"Should I be worried?"
"Can't you tell for yourself?"
"It's a test."
Her eyes starred, milky white and unblinking. "No. Even if there are complications, the elvin would not be so foolish as to try and destroy the plane."
"Very well." Hood pulled down over his eyes, the figure began to leave.
"You're mother was not so generous with her presence, she handled this world with thought alone."
"My mother had practiced since the beginning of time. I have had less than a century." He titled his head in respect and took his leave.

"Yes, no wall, green grass and rivers. oceans that aren't dark and filled with things that want to eat you...though there are some. mountains that can be crossed, snow, rain, weather. but there's also no places to hide. there's no where to run where someone cannot follow. there's no drow empires, there's no pirate filled tunnels."
A slight grin to her.
"You would blend in. no longer stand out, but just be one of the crowd. I on the other hand, would stick out like a piece of charcoal among diamonds. and there would be no home, no refuge for me to hide in. No place to get away from stares and gawking and pointing."

He was less than amused at Galesen's speech and that angry fiery face lifted before him once more. "If you think to force me to play with a rune mage's boundaries then you are even more foolish than I thought. You will face me away from your protected fortress or I will raze the place to the ground." Galesen might think his great uncle wasn't aware but he knew. He'd felt every time the magic had been passed on as his link had alerted him. He'd felt Galesen's magic growing stronger and was well aware it was past time to be done with him. "It is time to test your mettle, Coldiron."
She gave a nod and stepped to the front door, glancing up as that face explained what was to happen. Rolling her eyes at the dramatism of it all, she waited for Galesen to get a move on and started following after him. This was hopefully to be a fairly quick battle.

"Alright you fire born cockroach. This is my home you are talking about razing. and you won't dare test a runemages boundaries but you are willing to try and go past them to raze my home?"
Malik was already moving forward, sword drawn and pointing it at this mage with the attitude..or at least where the voice was coming from.
"Why is it you specialists think you are so powerful? Najena would wipe to floor with you. hell Wist could probably wipe the floor with you, and he's gnome!"
Grumbling a bit, but still moving forward.
"You might just want Galesen, but he's a member of MY house, which you've just threatened, nto only the actual building itself but member of said building inside it. So you just made it my buisness. and I don't take kindly to threats."

"A day and a night...the passage of time marked by the comings and goings of stars...what a strange concept." She looked at the heating scorpions. "I can't say I'd miss the drow empires, or the pirates. Even working with both as I have."
"Blending in. Sanding out. It doesn't matter. Are you so sure it would be that bad for you? In a realm full of elves and dwarfs and any manner of humanoid creatures.?"

"where I come from, ther ewas a surface, and my family lived at a manor...a large building...with elves, half elves, humans of various talents. things were fine there. but outside that place, it was different."
breaking off a claw and handing it over to her.
"we were monsters. feared, hated...in some cases even hunted. even the humans we stayed with were treated poorly, because they were different. SO yes, it can be that bad. I mean humans fear me here...so do the elves. But at least I can slip away in the dark. I can hide if they come looking and I don't want to be found. I'm not so sure when there's a sun and moon and stars."

"Fine, lets go then." He was getting sick of all the talking, he was worried about the battle anyway so he continued to move forward. But when Malik spoke Galesen smiled a little bit. "Don't worry Malik, on runemage ground or on no rungemage ground we'll still kill him. It'd be best anyway, the last thing I want is for some magic to get into your fortress and blowing something up." So Galesen continued to walk forward as his uncle seemed to move back. As they walked he tried to get a better sense of how strong their opponent was going to be. "Malik, even though you do have some powerful people under your house it would be best not to take my great uncle lightly, just in case." But they kept on walking until he realized they were some place else. A look to Sevilin and he raised an eyebrow. "This is far enough I'm guessing?" But a look to Renakar and he smiled. "Well, are you going to finally going to show yourself or are you going to just look like someone is on fire?" Galesen gripped his blade in both is hands as he spread his feet out below him, he wasn't going to use any magic unless he had no choice, but he wouldn't help it if it suddenly started acting on its own. "Come on!"

"I'm up for a challenge. I don't get much these days." He was eerily casual about all of this, but that's just how he reacted to such things these days. Battles were hardly won with emotion and like clouding minds. "Far enough." Though it was a simple flick of his wrist to activate every single rune that he had laid out across the fortress and surrounding lands. Green lines traced up from the ground and into the air itself it seemed from all direction, all meeting at a central point over the fortress. Sevilin had more or less just locked them inside his own making of sheilding. Of course...Malik, Zahara, and himself knew the escape route if needed.

"I don't really care what you think you know or pretend to understand. I know who you are, who you claim to be, and what you believe you can handle. My fight is not with you and Coldiron is not a member of your House. He knows where he belongs and that this fight is his own." He watched the approaching band and rolled his eyes before engulfing the circle around Galesen in flames. He was on him a moment later, slamming his burning fist into his face. "Show those older than you respect, boy."
"I don't think we're allowed to fight." Glancing at the towering circle of fire and shaking her head. They were safe behind the net of runes anyway though they could still fight and still be hurt. "He knows that Galesen is ice, right? They nullify each other..."

Malik glared at the pillar of flame, and walked to it anyway. it gave off ample heat, that was for sure. But he wasn't about to think this wasn't for show. that he could maintain the flame but not it's dangerous nature while trying to counter ice.
So he took off a gauntlet, and stuck his hand through the flame before jerking it back out.
"Innoruuk's thrice damned Cauldron!"
shaking his hand out and putting the gauntlet back on...before drumming his hand on his chin a moment. He didn't like this. Galesen was hardly a warrior type...barely a mage type.
"Ideas?"
before glaring at the flame again.
"Galesen is a member of my House, you overbearing self-absorbed flaming pain in the a**! Just admit it you know you can't handle anyone who actually knows how to fight! your too damned old and your power isn't nearly what it was in your prime!"

Ah damn it, it seemed he was going to fight on his own. Now Galesen didn't expect that and the sudden fist to his face hurt like hell but the fire didn't burn him which was good enough. A look to his uncle and he raised an eyebrow. "I am a part of his house you idiot. I was never raised as a Coldiron for most of my life, and only as recent as it could be with elves I had become a member under Malik's house. This fight is as much as theirs as it is mine!" A light pulse emitted itself from Galesen's body, causing the fire that was around him to ebb. He briefly looked in the direction Sevilin was in for a moment. "Isn't there a rune you know that could cut off the fire around us so everyone can get in on this?" Soon he raced toward his uncle and swung his blade, it struck something metallic as he heard the familiar ringing when metal struck metal. So there was something underneath there, but that didn't stop Galesen from swinging his katana again. The air around the blade had cooled considerably and his uncle's fire was finally going to be met with resistance.

"I wanted to put him on a spit, I'd like everyone to remember that." Nodding lightly to his wife's words. "That would be the angle here I think." Almost snickering when Malik burned his hand but refrained. It made sense they would look to him as he was more mage than warrior here. "I wouldn't taunt that Malik." Red eyes moving over to Galsen as he was more or less calling for help.
"Magic nullification doens't work like that. Either it all goes, or it all stays." He rolled his eyes and gave a flick of his wrist in the path of a rune, Galesen's gauntlets giving a brief glow of the runics on them. "Take those damn things off." Looking to Malik and Zahara. "Zahara is right...they nullify each other. Thus..." A gesture back to the other two.

Renakar merely laughed. "This House is your secondary House, boy. You were born into the Coldiron clan and will always owe your loyalty first and foremost to them. That is why your magic is the way it is." He glanced at the gauntlets and shook his head disgustedly, reaching up and easily blocking the sword with one hand, yanking it from his nephew. The flames reacted to Galesen's magic increasing in intensity and width. "Now, boy, you and I have some unfinished business but I don't think it would be wise to kill me without the answers you've been seeking all your life, do you?"
"Would you stop making me work?" Rolling her eyes to Malik's stupid move and already reaching for her salve. She'd be damned if she was putting it on his stupid hand though. "It depends on which one's stronger. They nullify each other only to a certain point. If one of them weakens or one is automatically stronger than the other..." she trailed off uncertainly. Fights between volatile elemental opposites were deadly. "How much power does he have, Sevilin? Can you tell through his blocks?"
