"She will be. I've known her a long time." Or rather she was still going to be optimistic despite certain stress signals she was getting...it was all kind of muddled what with the sudden shifting of magic forcings tugging every which way now. "You know, men have a certain way of doing things, especially when their pride is hurt. They tend to brood but they come back eventually, usually on a whim from their stomachs and they're much calmer then." -- "The only thing you own is your horse. Don't act so high and mighty." Oh yes he was brooding out in the underdark and in this case watching a few of the smaller critters lap at a nearby small pool of his blood. He really didn't care at this point about those sorts of things. "What are you doing way out here? Just when I thought I could get away from every damned thing on this plane save for the rats."

His pride...had she hurt his pride? Probably. Kaelin was so oblivious to these things because she'd never had to worry about them before. Her mother hadn't given her a chance to ever wound her pride. It was her way or no way at all. But she'd repeatedly told him he was wrong and doing things in a way he shouldn't be and that would probably grate on anyone's patience before too long. "And until then I'm just supposed to wait? He didn't think about me at all when he stalked off, did he? I bet he's not even in this place anymore."
"I have claimed the spit of land you're standing on, thank you. Just for a couple of weeks but claimed it nonetheless." Zykariel relaxed when he recognized his old friend but frowned at his tone and the actual words. "Can't get rid of me that easily, you know. I'm worse than rats." He made a motion like he was tossing a line into the water and waiting for the fish to bite. "I'm camping. Kit likes to go fishing late at night and it's too much energy to pick him up, fish, take him back home and head home myself. Especially since my family has once again moved into your house. Same question applies to you, Khai. What's got your armor all in a bunch?"

Malvolence was were it belonged, and through it malik reached to Ebony, it's sister sword. Ebony glowed and shimmer brightly, the signal from malik that malikhai was needed to come to him, without words for if they needed to communicate silently.
the magical flaring wasn't bothering....yet at the same time it was. if it had no intelligence, then it wasn't a big deal. if it did, then this was like a child poking at a parent to get attention. annoyingly so. yet also made one wonder what it was doing here if it was intelligent. it obviously retreated, backed off or was stopped by the runic and arcane defenses of the fortress.
But right now, his primary concern was his wife, whom he was watching like a hawk and taking care of her as best he could.
Cymarron just followed along behind Zahara, and said nothing else really. He was curious as to his nature, but became more and more agitated and fidgety the further downstairs they went.

Galesen went off the moment Malik finished giving out his orders. But as Galesen went around to find the boy he though he heard someone say something right into his ear, to which they did twitch in reaction. With a small blink he looked around to see a few serfs but nothing out of the ordinary. Thinking his problems were getting worse Galesen rubbed his head and took a few breaths before he continued to search. After awhile though he found the youngest child in the kitchen. "Hey, your dad wanted me to find you. Lets go."

"Depends on the man really. Most men you leave along an they wander back. Some you have to go find and kick in the head before they wander back. Either way you'll see them again or hear from them again eventually, especially if they think you're angry with them or think you're crying because of them. They hate that."
"You're worse than leeches." Shaking his head some, "Still corrupting the youth." Quieting for a moment. "I delt with Kaelin's mother, probably in all the wrong ways but hey...I gave her a choice and she didn't want to take it." No, he wasn't sorry for what he had done at all. Whomever wanted to be angry with him could be and he didn't care, he had given options and then his hand was forced because she didn't want to choose. "But that's a moot point I suppose."
Getting himself up and casting a look to his hip, grabbing hsi sword by it's hild and pulling it out of it's sheath some, watching as the blade glowed and he gave a frustrated sigh. Great he was being paged via swords...he could only imagine what that meant...though did know that was one of the more important 'get your a** here' methods of communication. "Want to come with me and be my moral support?"
Either this was cake, or whatever it was had some idea what it was doing. His own runics buffering the energy and even taking it for themselves to feed their need to function. Which was lovely as it took the strain off of him as well. Though he scribed a few more runes to suffice as power pockets so that the whole of the place wasn't broadcasting as a battery as Malik asked for all but dead magic around.
He wasn't sure why the hell things started to get weird but they were and it made chowing down very hard to do. Not that he was getting to do too much more of that as Galesen was there. "Okay, anyone want to tell me what's going on?"
Lucky for her that the menfolk had this on standby though it was surprising that they even did to be truthful. As they worked and whatever it was seemed to move away as well that weird invasive feeling was lifting off of her and she was calming down, though a residual stinging was still left. That was not fun...what the hell had happened.

Kaelin sat there for a moment, afraid to fume but pretty certain she wanted to. She was angry with him for stalking off without telling her when he'd be back or how he was feeling. He'd made the decision for her, had caused more problems than he'd ultimately solved, told her he loved her and then...left. "I think I'm more likely to throw something at his head when he comes back than cry." Although...she might cry, too.
Zykariel was silent, listening to Malikhai for a moment as he began sharing. "Dealt with her how? Is she still alive?" He agreed with Malikhai's feelings on the matter but he wasn't sure killing the woman was the best way to solve the problem. However, Malikhai had grown up in his father's house and there were still many things they did that were very different. "Sure. Where we going?"
She found Sevilin with little to no fuss at all and began feeding through his runes to see if she could figure anything out. She'd learned to thread her own energy around them intercepting the signals they were bouncing back without disrupting the runic flow. It had taken her years to master it and quite a few bloody noses as well since it required a minimal knowledge of runics and ability to perform them. "I haven't felt a concentration like that since the kids were kidnapped and those crystals sucked it up."

Galesen gave a double take of the boy and noticed that he wasn't feeling so well. "Are you alright?" Though the older elf shook his head and motioned for the boy to get moving. "I don't know, something is here at Twilight and we have to move, now come on." And so off the both of them went. "I'm putting you with Kit and Nillrik, at least that way I know you're all together and so will Malik once I report to him." So he took the kid up to where the others were and out him in there. "Stay here, ok?" And off he went again, this time searching for the leader of the household, something weird was going on and this time he was going to find out exactly what it was.

Cymarron simply sat and watched before perking up.
"Something took the kits? why did no one tell us?"
Cymarron crouched on the ground, writing with his claws symbols of his own. the air was colder, icy...even for elves.
"the winds of velious will keep the heat out."
Malik was keeping his wife company.
"everything alright...nothing feeling any worse for wear or anything? and the child is alright?"

Isle laughed and clapped the girl on the back. "Oh it's good to be angry and if you want to throw something at him, then throw away. Just make sure it doesn't have sharp corners to it because that would just be mean. Now come on, things are happening and we don't want to be like birds with our heads in the stand."
"If I was her and I was alive, I'd pray I was dead." Shrugging lightly yto that all. "Home. They want me for something. Probably just to yell at me or whatever, I really don't care." Starting on his way home easily enough but the closer he got home the worse he was feeling. The place itself was feeling wrong. "You feel that Zykariel?"
"I think we're okay." Wiping her hand under her nose however and having the back of her hand come away bloody. Not that she considered nosebleeds any big deal as it seemed that was always the way her body first started responding to altered states of things.
"It's something for sure, just don't know what." Letting Zahara work through him until she was done and he stopped as well, taking his polearm from a serf. "I'm going to go look. Someone has to, and running around screaming for people isn't going to help at all. Thusly Sevilin made his way outside the place, taking a moment to track it before starting out toward the direction is was strongest. Not that it was hard to see fire pillars, even in the dark. Though nowhere near the thing yet and he was already feeling discomfort from heat...which was highly irritating because it was uncommon for them to even feel it.

She blinked at Isle for a long moment, frowning. What was she talking about? And then as if her obviousness needed to stop immediately, she suddenly realized that there was a great deal of magical fallout happening. Slipping out of bed, she glanced down at herself and frowned. "I need to change first." It didn't take her long to change into a clean dress and step out with Isle, heading downstairs. "What do you think it is?"
Zykariel nodded slowly, choosing to keep silent rather than ask stupid questions. Finally, he clapped his friend on the back and started walking beside him. "Let's go." As he neared the manor, bond sensors and his own magical abilities began to set off and he frowned. "I felt it about fifteen steps ago. Come on."
"Not alone." She and Sevilin had faced many an enemy together and this one was going to be no different. She stepped up beside him, withdrawing her daggers just in case and watched. Stepping up a bit further, she frowned. "He's not moving."
The fiery tendrils told him everything he needed to know. Two more had stepped onto his playing field but they weren't the ones he wanted. One, however, would do nicely. One male. One female. And the male was stronger than the female. Perfect. He smiled slowly, closed his eyes, and the spot Zahara was standing was engulfed in flames.

Galesen knew after searching for awhile where Malik was, so quietly he knocked on the door and saw the drow sitting with his wife. He gave a small nod to her before turning his attention on Malik. "Malik, we need your help out here soon. Your son is with Kit and Nillrik and I'll go to look for the others." Better to give the man an update instead of telling him to get out and help deal with the problem. "I'll go look for Faate and Mykorian now." And so he was gone again, the kids seemed to be scatted through the fortress, he wished they all stuck to one spot.

Cymarron wandering away from the below as fast as he could, but didn't leave the building...rather hiding in the shadow and the dark...using the ceiling and the walls...the cold from his velious winds was nice...it seemed to be getting hotter around here. but he was keeping tabs on galesen...mostly since he might be able to glean information without having to get near Malik for it.
"You're nose is bleeding, your not alright. sit down, relax we'll get you something."
opening the door enough to shout in Tier'dal about someone getting something for nosebleeds. right now he wasn't letting piper out of his sight.

“Could be anything, as I’ve learned to expect down here. Come along.” Leading the girl from the room with a pause and a blink as they stopped at the nursery as they passed it first. It was full of brooding teenagers…that was strange. “Anybody have any idea what’s going on?
With that urgency added into their purpose of destination they broke into a trot until they crested the hill just before the property lines laid down and he blinked at the new sight that greeted them. “That’s um…new.” Throwing an arm in front of Zykariel however as the fire made thing started after Zahara.
Despite the situation, a small smile came across his lips as she was right there before he refocused on the things at hand. “Just because it’s not moving doesn’t me-”, not getting to finish his sentence and one rune brought that bouncy half levitation lightness to his feet and he was in front of Zahara, another rune and a twist of his polearm to physically pull the air and the two were surrounded by air currents made visible that repelled back the fire and heat somewhat. “That answers the question of is it intelligent or not.”
"My nose is always bleeding." Giving a cough but otherwise staying put like he asked...there was no need to aggrivate anything about this situation at all. Though whatever was making the air nice and cool was very ncie because she was feeling much too hot at the moment as her body had flipped to the defense switch, which usually meant to start a fever to burn out whatever was messing with her body. "What the hell is going on around here?"

"We don't know. Myklorian said a pillar of flame was heading toward the enterance to the underdark. apparently it moved to here...hit our magical defenses..and has stayed put. I don't know if it's just some flare of magical energy that's moving just to move...like a tornado....or if it's something with intelligence behind it. it's flaring through the defenses...but it's not hostile..just prodding. which a flare can do as well. hopefully Sevilin will let us know if he finds anything out with his runics."

Galesen had searched for the kids high and low, and he couldn't find the two of them. "You think Faate taking after her father she would know what the hell is going on..." A wipe of his brow and he looked at the sleeve of his coat, he was sweating a lot, but he knew he shouldn't be because he could run throughout Twilight and feel just fine, thanks to Malik's training. Still, he felt tired and needed to rest, so with a shuffle of his feet he made his way to the library and sat down on the couch. His energy was just swirling inside him and he could feel it push around, being all bouncy with the outside force bothering him as well. With a sigh he closed his eyes, and before he knew it he slipped off into reverie.
"Is it working?" The sound of his father's voice filled Galesen's ears and when his eyes opened he could see the interior of the boat, but instead of it being a bit dark as always he could see a soft green glow, but couldn't tell what it was. "Yes, it is." His mother's voice made Galesen turn his head to search for her and he made a noise as well. "Well, look who's awake." a small chuckle could be heard and Galesen realized he was being held, so he looked up into his father's eyes and reached out for a lock of his hair, which he grabbed and gave a tug. "Now Galesen I want you to listen to me, you'll remember this of course but you won't for a long time unless it is necessary. We are placing an old rune that will allow the transfer of all my magic and your grandfather's magic into you in case one day I happen to...not be around anymore." There was a pause from the man and Galesen gave a few more tugs before letting up. "We didn't expect to be down here, which is why we have to be doing this to you and we are so sorry to place you in this position. But there is a reason and after this rune disappears you'll find out why." Galesen made another noise and nuzzled his father a little who poked him once to get his attention.
"Now a long, long time ago, back when the surface was habitable, we elves were living peacefully. But there were problems, between each other and those who lived down here. There were talks of war between the nations and kings began to amass troops for battle. As the tension rose a prophet appear to a king, he had a vision of your grandfather and his brother. They were going to become powerful elemental mages, both respected in their choice of elements and turn the tide of the war that was going to start. The problem was, after the war your great uncle was going to cause damage with his powers than when he used them for good. So as they both grew up, both brothers were watched, carefully as they studied their magic and trained together and separately."
There was a pause as a small noise was made, but soon enough Galesen's father spoke again. "Your grandfather chose to wield ice as his main magical ability, while his brother chose fire. Both apposing elements and both were deadly. But before anything could be done, the war had started and even though the two of them were taken care of, they were not just placed aside, the king who was told of them decided to put them to use." Another pause as Galesen could feel fingers run through his hair, he turned his eyes to see Linwell, his mother sit down next to them. "As they were sent into battle they both witness the horror of what war was really like, and how their magic easily affected it. They were strong, and they could take down armies with little to no help at all. But their minds were taking a different toll. While your grandfather tried to end the war without having to fight, his brother started to believe that it would be better if everyone except the kingdom he lived under should live, all opposing surface elves and the drow should be wiped out..."
"Draken..." Linwell pressed a hand to is cheek and the man sighed. "I know, he needs to hear this." Galesen looked at his father once more and made a noise, causing the man to smile and jiggle him a little. "Then there was a final battle, the king had made an allegiance with the drow and a neighboring country and they attacked the enemy who had also untied. Your grandfather and great-uncle were on the front lines and manage to beat back the enemy with support from countless troops and mages. After this battle there was peace, a truce was sough out between all elves and then it was time to rebuild. Your grandfather was blessed by the king with the last name Coldiron while your great-uncle was blessed with the name Flameblade. Both took their names with a good amount of pride. But, the king still remembered of Flameblade causing trouble later on, but before anything could happen, your great-uncle disappeared."
Galesen suddenly found himself with his mother and he made a noise of happiness. "I'll continue Draken, I know the story as much as you do." Familiar green eyes looked back down and that warm smile appeared. "Years went by and people searched for Flameblade, but no one could find him. Coldiron heard of the prophet's warning and decided to prepare instead of searching, so he continued to train with his magic and consult others in different magic fields. Soon after four decades Flameblade appeared; he had changed, his eyes showed hate, his hands burned with his magic non stop, he had the aura of a madman. Suddenly, he started attack village after village, claiming that "all species except for those chosen deserve to be eliminated." He gained followers who wanted the same, and got rid of those who didn't want to side with him. The king summoned the troops once again and your grandfather was called on to get rid of his brother. Soon, both Flameblade's cult and the army backing your grandfather battled each other. Both sides lost a lot of people and in the end it was brother versus brother. They were both evenly skilled and battled for a long time, neither seemed to weaken. They split earth, boiled the water, blackened the sky, and forced the wind to do their bidding. But in the end, your grandfather had beaten Flameblade with something he had discovered very recently. And so with those he had talked to your grandfather constructed an ice prison to hold him in. People wanted him dead but your grandfather wanted to help him. So, the prison was placed deep within the mountains and a rune was placed on both elves so that they would know that they were alive. That way they could always remember what needed to be done." Linwell stopped and sighed before looking to her husband. "But your grandfather decided that just in case things went wrong there would be a back up. So he placed a rune on your father here that would allow a transfer all of his magic and the link between the brothers so when Flameblade had to be dealt with, there would be someone to do it."
Things went quiet. Both parents were uneasy and Galesen couldn't make sense of what was going on. But with another poke he turned to his father who didn't look all happy. "But before anything could happen, the land suddenly began to change, we all had to relocate down here in the Underdark and your grandfather passed on when he stayed behind to try and help those still on the surface, and at the same time Flameblade was lost as well, and we all thought he was dealt with forever. But I sort of felt the bond though after the transfer, so while I tried to survive in the Underdark I spent my time looking for someone to help me, and that's when I met your mother who, thank the gods, specialized in runes. While being together we had you and so...here we are." After listening to all that Galesen was just happy that his father was happy, as evident with that smile on the man's face. "But Galesen, if he does show when we are not here...there is something you need to know..."
And that's was when Galesen's body decided to pull him out of reverie. His eyes widen in shock as he just went over every bit of information that he was able to recall. "Oh...crap."
