Ratata jumped back and landed in front of Train. "Ta! Rata!" It hissed at the opposing rock pokemon. Train was glad Ratata was holding up against Geodude.
Geodude wasn't ready to give up yet, though. It crossed it's arms in a sort of X, using Defense Curl. "Great..." Train mumbled to herself. "Just what I need, the already strong pokemon using a move to boost defense!"
"Ratata, Focus Energy!" Train told her pokemon. Ratata closed it's eyes for only a moment, focusing to boost the critical hit ratio.

The wild Ratata was just about done, but it would still try. It ran at Cyndaquil in a weak Tackle, not doing much damage.
"Cyndaquil," Kurine said, knowing now the Ratata wouldn't last, "Finish it off with Tackle!" Cyndaquil charged at Ratata, and slammed into it. The little mouse pokemon fell over, fainted.
"Yeah! Alright, Cyndaquil!" Kurine exclaimed, jumping up and down. She ran over to Cyndaquil and hugged it happily. Cyndaquil blew a puff of smoke in her face. Kurine coughed and withdrew the fire pokemon. Then she wiped the soot of her face and turned to start walking again.
"We won our first battle!" She said to noone, smiling broadly. She wasn't cocky, just really happy.

"Right then." Keegan also went about setting up his own bike; the red paint was still shiny and new from its previous repairs. He hadn't used it much since then, but he would be sure to remedy that in the future. He eyed the little basket that he usually attached to the front so Helios could ride in it, and sighed. Without the little Vulpix, there wasn't much use for it. He put the basket back in his bag and mounted the bike, pushing the memories from his mind as he readied Mori's Pokeball in his right hand. He looked at the red and white sphere for a moment, thinking about Dante and Apollo. He wondered where they were, and what they were doing, and also if Apollo had evolved into a Rapidash yet. The redhead sighed, realizing then that he'd fallen behind his two companions, and he started to ride, letting Mori out as he pedaled along. The small, young Ponyta stretched her legs, letting her flames fan out around her as she took in what was happening. Keegan beckoned for her to follow, and the baby Ponyta let out a happy whinny and followed after him, her hooves making a delightful tapping sound on the concrete as she ran.

Maven saw the young Ponyta and smiled. She could remember when Phyra was that size. She pushed Phyra on and stayed beside the young Ponyta. She couldn't help but look at the strong muscles it was developing nicely. It's flame was a healthy colour as well. Maven smiled as the wind whipped through her hair. This is where she was truly herself, riding Phyra. She couldn't help but grin as she followed her two new acquaintances.

Train hoped Focus Energy would work. Geodude was weakening, and she could tell they only needed a critical hit to win the battle.
Geodude had other plans. It picked up a nearby rock and hurled it at Ratata. "Rat-a!" Ratata squealed as the rock landed on it. It squirmed and struggled until it finally squeezed out from under the weight of the rock.
"C'mon, Ratata! Bite!" She called to it. Ratata ran at Geodude, chomping down on it's rocky body. As it jumped back and landed by Train, Geodude landed on the ground with a semi-loud crash. The critical hit they needed had come through, and Geodude had fainted.
"Yes!" Train said, withdrawing Ratata. Pikachu was a bit unhappy he hadn't gotten to battle, but right now he was happy they'd won. Pikachu and Train gladly climbed down the ladder, back into the dark. They felt their way along by keeping their hands on the wall. Train ended up picking up Pikachu, though.

Kurine kept walking. It couldn't be to much farther from the next town, could it?
Thankfully, it wasn't. Kurine soon came upon the entrance to Cherrygrove. She hurried into the town, then walked around, looking for anyone to talk to.
She noticed the beach quickly. Kurine walked over and stood just out of reach of the waves. "Cool! Maybe someday I can use Surf to travel over this!" She thought out loud. The idea of riding a pokemon over the sea was thrilling to her.
Now she turned and walked away, looking around at the city. It was cool being in a new place, away from home, even if home was only a short walk away.
Kurine went into the Poke'Center. She knew she needed to heal Cyndaquil, so she let Nurse Joy take it's pokeball to restore it to full health.

The ride between Saffron and Vermilion really wasn't that long, and quite soon, Kasiya could see the sign that would be welcoming them to the seaside city. She could also already smell the tang of the salty sea air, and it was very welcoming. The ocean sparkled in front of them on the horizon, like thousands of tiny diamonds strewn about in the distance. It was a sight Kasiya had seen many times before, but she'd never grow tired of it.
The day was still young as they arrived at the port city, and almost automatically Kasiya turned towards the gym. She stopped herself though, remembering that Shocker needed a round of healing at the Pokemon Center, and she made sure Keegan and Maven were still with her as she altered her course. She stopped her bike just outside the red roofed building, and dismounted. "I'll be right back," she told them eagerly, stepping through the sliding doors and into the familiar facility.
"Good morning," the pink-haired nurse called to her from behind the front desk.
The place was empty, which Kasiya saw as a good thing. "Good morning," she replied cheerfully, placing Shocker's Pokeball on the desk in front of her. "My Raichu got a bit scratched up in a battle earlier, and she needs some TLC," Kasiya told her.
"Okay, it should only take a minute, Kasiya," the pretty young woman nodded, taking the red and white sphere and placing in the machine behind her. It came to life, passing a shining light, much like a scanner over the Raichu's Pokeball several times before it chimed, signaling that the Pokemon within was fully healed. "There you go, she's fighting-fit," Nurse Joy said, still wearing her trademark smile.
"Thank you," Kasiya said, clipping the Pokeball back into its place. "We'll probably see you later," she added, waving as she left the Pokemon Center to rejoin Maven and Keegan.

Keegan was rather proud to see that Mori had managed to keep up with him the entire way. A few times, the young Ponyta had started to fall behind, but she quickly made up any lost ground with a few long strides of her powerful little legs. As they reached the city limits, Keegan recalled her, knowing she needed nothing more than a little rest after all that running.
He glanced around, trying to find something that would indicate the direction of the gym. After all, he was still rather eager to try his luck against the gym leader. Win or lose, it would be valuable experience for his team. He decided it would be best to just wait for Kasiya. Only a few short moments passed before she joined them outside again, and Keegan said nothing, content to let the blonde trainer lead the way.

Maven stayed ontop of Phyra who after the run was still wanting more. It never ceased to amaze Maven how much her Phyra enjoyed running. She had pawed at the ground awaiting the command to go. Maven wasn't sure if they were going to walk through or continue to ride right on until the gym. Maven was getting quite excited herself wanting to see another battle of Kasiya's. She also couldn't wait to see what Keegan was going to pull out for his turn.
"Hey Kasiya. All healed up now?" Maven smiled brightly as Kasiya came back out to meet up with them. if anything Mave, just keep talking and don't run away. This is going well. Don't blow it...but stay on your guard, this has happened before Maven refused to allow the darker thoughts of her past come up and haunt her as excitement flowed through her veins

Ray stood there, looking at her face. "Uh... looby doo..." He couldn't say a word since it was the first time a female went this close to him without buying a berry. Flametail laughed at him and mocked him. Ray snapped some sense in himself. "Oh, umm, thanks." He rubbed his Charmander's head and quickly said, "Are you in a relationship?" He froze for a small moment and instantly followed the question with another. "Are you a trainer? I'm from Three Island. My name is Ray. I collect berries." Ray panicked, but showed no signs of it. What did I just do? Idiot! He looked away from her and stared at the nearest building. ((Sorry about that. I had to search for my last post, then read all the posts after mine to see what was going on.))

"Good as new," Kasiya beamed, patting the Pokeball clipped safely on her belt. She stretched her arms overhead before climbing back up onto her bike again. "Well, the gym is this way," she said, indicating a direction with her finger. She couldn't help but wonder who would get to battle her father first. She was eager to show him just how much stronger she'd become since last time, but she also knew that her father would most likely battle with Keegan first - business and all that stuff.
Kasiya pushed off once more, not really having to think about where the gym was in relation to well, anything. She'd been there so many times before, she could probably find her way if she was blindfolded and placed at a random location in the city. As they rode along, Kasiya spotted a trainer in a white hat, accompanied by a Charmander, who was speaking to a girl with long, blonde hair. She became so interested in watching the two of them that she forgot to watch where she was going, and she promptly rode into a telephone pole, sending both her and her Acro Bike tumbling to the ground with a thud.

Ray was still slightly talking to the girl while looking away. Flametail looked and saw a person flying from their bike.
Flametail rushed over to her. "Char!" He extended his arm to help her. His short arm couldn't do anything, but he didn't noticed. The Charmander then ran to her bike. Being short, Flametail dragged it to her. He wasn't strong enough yet, so struggled to pull it over to her. "Charmander!" He continued pulling on the bike, while looking back to see if she was ok. Ray was still unaware of what was happening as he wasn't looking.

Keegan had noticed the two trainers as well, although he was far more interested in the young-looking Charmander that stood nearby. When Kasiya crashed, he skidded to a stop, watching her for a moment or two to make sure she was all right. The next thing he knew, the trainer's Charmander had made its way over, and was making an attempt to help her. Chuckling, Keegan swung a leg over his bike and let it rest on the ground, and walked towards the small fire lizard. "Let me give you a hand, okay?" he said, proceeding to help the Charmander with its task. "Kasi? Are you all right?" he asked, looking towards the girl as he and the Charmander reached her side. The redhead extended a hand to help her up, looking back to see what Maven thought of the situation.

Maven felt her heart stop as Kasiya had crashed. She stopped Phyra and nearly gotten flung forward in the process. She jumped off and saw that Keegan was on top of things.
She stopped and smiled at the display. Those two truly cared for one another as human beings. Phyra walked over and nuzzled Kasiya's side gently as she stood up. Phyra then looked down at the Charmander and gave it a small nod of approval.
"Is everyone okay?" Maven started to remove her back pack for anything they might need. However it had seemed Kasiya came out of that fall unscathed. Maven stood with a small smile on her face as she placed a hand on her Ponyta.

Flametail let the man help him out. He noticed that there were more around. The Charmander then noticed that all of them had Pokeballs. He began to jump and yell to his trainer. Ray was still unaware of what happened. Flametail smacked his head, disappointed by his trainer's thing for females. He waved his tail as he saw another Pokemon new to him.
