megamanfan66 MHHornfreak: you use 5's? Holy moly. I can only sound good up to 4 1/2; any higher and it gets really airy. I have to try that, though... 5's for marching band. Sounds like a good idea. Yeah i was even able to play altissimos with em. Not good at all for jazz or symphonic, i use 3's or 3 1/2's for jazz and symphonic band. The great part was that nobody could bum reads from me because they didnt have the chops for 5's xD

Well, I bought a box of Rico Jazz 5's for marching band, along with three vandoren 4 1/2's. They play FANTASTICALLY!!! And I know exactly what you mean by strong sound! They're awesome reeds. That should last me the entire year, and maybe next, too! Ha! Now I can do the same thing! No more reed-moochers anymore!

Silver Eye Snake er...I have an alto, but I don't know how to play it yet (I'll be learning that this year). I've been wanting to play it forever though ^^ Hm...I feel so out of place/stupid. I don't suppose you would have any tips for me, would you? sweatdrop Well don't feel stupid! I'm not a know-it-all. I'm only 13. But I have played Sax for three years. I'm currently on the Bari. I really want to play suprano! It looks challenging. In each sax you have to blow a different way. With reeds: the higher the number, the more you have to keep it wet. You must make sure you sax is warmed up before you start playing. If your sax isn't warmed it will squeak. Messing up is perfectly fine. That is unless you are in a band that travels for ribbons and what not.
