After many moments of concentration, Mala seemed to dissintegrate in her current spot and sink into the jem of the ring. She rematerialised as soon as soon as she entered the ring, which resulted in her falling and landing right on her a** in front of Van. "OOoooow..." she moaned softly to herself, rubbing her aching backside as she tried to stand up.

The Librarian let out a squeal to rival Angel's best, then sprinted the entire way to her TARDIS, stuffing her entire book collection into her bag, and then everything she considered important, including three distinct outfits and a few photographs of Gallifrey, and then she sprinted back to the cute vampire girl. "I wish to join you in your travels," she said formally. "Since my TARDIS is in a state of disrepair and I've nothing else to do..." Her voice dropped. "And I really don't want to be left with the Recorder."
Angel tugged on Riley's hand with one of hers. "Can we keep her? Please? Pretty please?" She was making an adorable face.

"Nice to see you could drop in for a visit." Van said with a little smile as he watched her get to her feet. "And yes, that one was intentional." he said.

Riley sighed. "I don't know. We should ask my sister first, see if she has any problems with it, but I think she went to the house for a while. She might still want to be alone after what happened to Van." he knew Van was still alive, they all knew that, but it felt just as different as if he had died instead of getting sealed up.

"But... but... she's so cute!" Angel pointed at the Librarian. "See? See how cute she is? And Jezzy likes her." Jezebellun nodded her agreement, although the baby was sleepy, eyes closing.

Mala stuck out her tongue at Van. "Har har har, very funny. I almost forgot to laugh." After the aching dulled a slight bit she glanced up at Van once more and approached. She stood in front of Van, now, offering a small smile as well. "You seem cheerier than I would expect."

"I know we can still talk at least, so that certainly makes me feel better. Although I must better than I thought at putting on a fake smile." Van said with a bit of a sad smile before he hung his head. "It's honestly lonely, depressing, and downright humiliating being in this position. How the mighty have fallen indeed..." he said with a sigh. "Guess it's fitting though, the god of thieves chained up like a common criminal..." he said looking to one of his chained hands that hung limp from the wall.

Mala took a couple more steps forward, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and leaning her forhead against his. "Cheer up; I'll do whatever I can to make this situation at least a little more comfortable for you. Okay?"

"I know, but what else is there? You already tried breaking the seal, and that's not going to get broken until after lord knows how many attempts." Van said looking sad that he couldn't hug her or do much of anything, even when she was there with him.

The Recorder sighed. "Normally, I wouldn't be one to care, but if my ideas aren't heard... I might go stir crazy in my own head. It is, of course, decidedly large, but even so. Perhaps it's time for a bit of a change."

Mala's smile fell slightly. "I can try and bring a few luxuries in, a couple chairs, maybe I can try and at least lengthen the chains so you'll have free roam, maybe fit that extra sleeping bag in here if you'd like." she offered, really wanting to help as much as she could.

"They're magic, I'm not sure you could..." Van said, instinctively trying to reach out to hug her close in comfort, but the chains stopped him from doing so.

"They're magic - that's why I think I can." Mala responded stubbornly, even though there was a high likelihood that she couldn't. "Please, at least try to look on the positive side of things. Tell me what I can do to make things a little better until I get you out. Tell me what you want. Please?"

Van sighed as he looked away from Mala. "Go ahead and try to lengthen the chains, though I doubt it'll do you any good...And even if you did furnish the place to make it more homey, I doubt I could enjoy it chained to the wall like this." he said straining against the chains, pulling them taught to prove his point.

Taking a deep breath once more, Mala cleared her mind as she prepared herself for the attempt. Afterwards, she gave it her best shot for the moment.
