When Poke was getting started to tell what had happened to her exactly, Blade put down his fork and listened intently. It was... a strange tale to say in the least, but it wasn't improbable. The 'goldeneyed devil' that she mentioned seemed to be quite a creep for sure though.
However, it was strange that her kidnapper had just ditched her like that. He wouldn't rule out that the guy wouldn't return though, so they'd have to stay vigilant whenever leaving.
"Can you tell us more about your kidnapper? I get the feeling we haven't seen the last of him yet," he requested.
The story presented made the elder dragon's brow furrow. Taking it in, he slowly shook his head at it all. Suto was still very much active then, which was very unfortunate. These children would have to be very careful whenever they decided to leave; someone such as that scientist wasn't likely to let up on what he wanted.
"I suggest you all be extra careful if possible. The goldeneyed devil is more powerful than you might expect..."

Atticus folded his hands in his lap and listened closely to Poke's explanation of what had happened. What a peculiar tale she weaved. Golden-eyed devils, strange cells with large glass windows, using humanoids for experiments... It sounded like a horror story, really. Surprising she escaped with all of her limbs and organs in tact, if this was the case.
He had no real reason to doubt Poke. The dragon elder seemed to support her story as well, though he couldn't help finding it a little hard to swallow. Probably one of those things you had to see with your own eyes to truly believe. "I wonder what he gains from all of this..." Atticus mumbled to himself, fingers twiddling as he pondered.
(Drunk Riyo is drunk, figured I wouldn't repeat myself this time, lol. )

"So what's this guy's name? Is he human?" Neko asked curious and worried all the same. He didn't know what to make of the tale, he had no idea they were running from something like this. What had Mitsu gotten them mixed up in?
"His name is Suto." Mitsu said it no louder than a whisper her eyes still trained on her plate. She hadn't intended to say more but when Atticus spoke up she felt compelled to let him know. After all she knew the answer, it had been repeated to her all her life. "Knowledge." She stammered. "Knowledge is the world's greatest weapon." Well, it was certainly something she wouldn't come up with on her own.
"What can you tell us about him?" It seemed Mitsu knew more than she let on. Why had she been hiding this from them? As far as any of them knew their only fear had been the hound not some.....crazy scientist. A touch of anger rose up in his voice as he continued. "Why is he after you Mitsu? And why are we now apart of this?"
Mitsu's mouth pressed into a tight line as she shook her head. She didn't want to say. "I'm sorry." She said softly before she got up from her seat. It looked as though tears were threatening to fall and Neko suddenly rethought his tone. He was angry, but it wasn't entirely Mitsu's fault. Before he had a chance to say anything though she walked off, disappearing into the garden.
"Tsk....dammit." Neko hissed leaning back into his chair. He averted his eyes and decided to focus back on Riyo who seemed to be gone to the world. At a moment like this...he wished he could join her.

in her story, poke had forgotten to elaborate on Shun so it was no surprize she was asked this question. "From what I could tell, the kidnappers name is shun. He's a assassin who was hired to capture all of us, but instead of killing us he had to take us back." She thought a bit more. "He wasn't much of a talker, and I didn't ask him much since I figured keeping my mouth shut was a good option. But he uses two daggers to fight, and...he's very good at killing with them" she shuddered, remembering the times he decided to slit someones throat.
"as for what he gains.." she mumbled when atticus asked. "Either he let me go because got tired of my presence...or he was hoping he could track me from afar." God she hoped he still wasn't tracking her...But he couldn't of, she had been going through the desert, she couldn't see him being that desperate.
although she had misinterpreted his question, as he seemed to be talking about the scientist, and not shun. Then mitsu had spoken up, and she looked at the girl sadly. She felt horrible that mitsu had to go through so much at the hands of this.."suto" guy. But before anything could be said, neko had asked her questions, and she had walked off into the garden...
"I don't think it's her fault" she said to neko. "...it soudns like she was at that place for a very long time, and when she escaped they started going after her..."

For a moment, the thief blinked as Poke described the assassin. He knew the guy she spoke of, having run into him once before. With a frown, he slowly shook his head.
"Yeah, he's pretty dangerous. And he's pretty good at finding people too. Never would have thought he'd be a kidnapper though," he commented before listening to Neko and Mitsu. So now they had a name to this mad scientist person. He thought on it somewhat before looking over at the two again as the cat rose his voice against the dog.
Narrowing his eyes, he gave Neko a rather stern gaze before watching Mitsu hurry on off. Considering the way she had been acting ever since the subject was brought up, it seemed to be a very touchy thing with her. It may be a good idea to make sure she was alright.
"Excuse me," he said softly as he got up onto his feet. Without another word, he went off towards the garden to see if he could find the girl. Once there, he looked around where she might have gone, "Mitsu?"

As she watched blade walk outside to comfort mitsu, a sudden realization came to her, "s**t! I forgot!" Suddenly she was up, and while smacking neko lightly on the back of the head (he shouldn't of been a a** to mitsu), had ran outside the tent going on about where her belongings were. She had remembered about the note she was supposed to give mitsu, and had left it in her knapsack which was with the horse.

Neko merely watched Blade leave to follow Mitsu, not liking the look he was getting, shortly before a slight pain hit him in the back of the head. "Ouch dammit!" Rubbing the back of his head he saw Poke's retreating form and huffed. He supposed he deserved it to a point but really...what had she unknowingly gotten them into? Was this how life was going to be if she continued to stay around or would it forever be this way even if she was gone?
Mitsu hadn't gotten far in the garden. She had made it out of sight of the tent and slowed when she came to a small pond. Looking into the water she was surprised to see little fish swimming around. Everything was so big here....why the little fish? Sitting down rather roughly she deflated at the edge of the pond, the tears finally coming. They rolled down her cheeks in thick lines of regret before they dripped off the side of her face. Trying her best to keep from outright sobbing she curled forward hiding her face in her hands. She barely even heard Blade coming after her calling her name though she probably wouldn't have answered if she did. Luckily for him, she was in plain sight if he wanted to find her.

Knowledge? Really? THAT'S what he got from making people suffer?
Atticus said nothing as Mitsu left, or as the others followed. Honestly, he could see both sides. It was rather cruel for her to get them involved without giving them a lick of information up 'till this point. That wasn't to say she shouldn't have run away, of course... Just that it would've been nice to have been informed of a bat-s**t insane scientist that wanted to chop the lot of them up into little bits before he had started to come after them.
Atticus leaned back slightly in his chair, unsure of whether he really wanted to continue with this group at such great risks. Though, he didn't voice that. Nor would he. "Well. We know now. Suppose it doesn't help much when you're in the quicksand so deep your arms are stuck and you can't reach that vine you just noticed." Suddenly, a sip of wine didn't sound so bad. He took the goblet and had himself a nice dose of liquid courage, then glanced Riyo's way to see how she was fairing.
Not so well, apparently. She'd somehow fallen out of her chair without anybody noticing, her head now resting on the seat of the chair. *hic* was the sound that came from under the table. "Charming. You drink like your Father."
"Shut up." Was the sharp tone that replied to Atticus's unintentional insult.

Looking around, it didn't take him too long to find the girl sitting by the pond. From the way she held herself, it was pretty obvious the poor girl was crying. Shaking his head to himself, Blade let out a small sigh before quietly approaching Mitsu and kneeling down by her.
"The garden here is really nice, isn't it?" he started softly as he tried to think of what he should say exactly. Finding the right words to comfort someone wasn't one of his strong points, and several times he had ended up making things worse with what he said. So he was going to try and be careful here if possible.

Slowly Mitsu lifted her head, though it seemed to be with effort. She did not look to the garden but instead turned to look at Blade, her face streaked with tears. The waterworks looked like they were about to start up all over again as she turned toward him and leaned into his chest.
"I'm so sorry," Mitsu said softly.
--
Turning to find that Riyo was no longer in her seat Neko leaned down to look under the table where she currently resided. "You going to be okay down there?"
Eager to investigate, now that his belly was full, Tobi came wondering over toward the table and slipped between a few legs to get to Riyo. Tail wagging he licked at her face wondering why she was so close to the ground at the moment. Were they camping out there? This was a pretty nifty shelter.

Seeing Mitsu's face streaked with tears, Blade's eyes softened. In a slightly awkward manner as he wasn't too used to it, he patted her lightly on the back to try and calm her down.
"Don't apologize Mitsu. It isn't your fault... Neko's just being a jerk," he said softly, though with a frown. Hopefully the guy will be apologizing to her later on. While the situation was definitely a concern, there was no reason to raise his voice against the girl.
"What's a little danger anyway?" he added with a weak grin. Given his choice of occupation, dangers and risks were always fairly apparent. To some extent he enjoyed it too, "Sometimes... a little challenge along the way just makes the things we gain and earn all the better. And besides, personally... if I had the choice of living my life in peace alone or spending it with friends and trouble, I'll take those friends and challenges."

Mitsu merely sniffled a few times, still wiping at her eyes. She did find a small comfort in what Blade had to say, but it didn't keep her from feeling bad. No one had ever asked her directly so she had never felt compelled to bring it up. It was a hard subject to talk about, something that even now had her heart racing at the thought that Suto was still there, looming in the darkness, waiting.
"It....It's not just a little danger." Mitsu shook her head pulling back, her eyes focused on her hands in her lap. "I...I didn't think....he would find me. That he would want me back...since I am broken." She stammered softly.

"You aren't broken... not to us," he reassured. It was pretty apparent that this golden eyed devil, Suto, scared her a lot. Whatever he had done to her, it must have been pretty horrible. It was a little hard to fathom what those sorts of things might be, just from what he had heard from Poke, but the scientist probably had little regard to how people felt when he did things to them.
"... He's hurt you pretty badly hasn't he?" asked Blade, not really expecting her to answer the question. It was somewhat of a rhetorical one.
"But.. don't worry. We'll do what we can to keep you safe and out of his hands. If for some reason, we fail... We'll get you back. I can't say too much for the others, but I promise you, if anything happens to any of us.. I will do what I can to get you or whoever's in trouble out of there," he said firmly before giving a fairly wry grin, "I am a pretty good thief and I rarely leave a place without getting what I'm after. I... can't say I've stolen a person before but there's a first for everything."
---
It seemed that one of their guests was... quite drunk as he saw Riyo fall out of her seat. Amused, he gave a soft chuckle before looking back towards the others. Hakim was concerned for the white haired girl; no doubt this was a hard topic for her.
"Suto may have once been a human, but I have my doubts that he can still be considered as one," he said after awhile, replying to what Neko had asked Mitsu earlier.

Mitsu didn't say anything about what Suto had done, what he planned to do. In truth, she herself never really understood his goal. He always said knowledge was power, and with that power you could topple nations. She didn't really get it, why one would want to....topple a nation. What was there to gain in doing that? He had never really explained it, he wasn't always in the sharing mood. Here and there he would give her pieces to work with but after a while, those pieces began to fade and were eventually forgotten. Not that it mattered that she understood. Who would she share this information with? Up until a few months ago her world revolved around this man dressed in white with a sinister face.
Turning her head up toward Blade again Mitsu tried to smile, though it was very forced. "Thanks Blade." It wasn't that she didn't believe him. She wanted more than anything to believe someone would rescue her....but her worry was if they would need rescuing of their own. "Just...promise you won't get hurt?"

"I can't guarantee it... but I'll do what I can," he replied. Blade knew he wasn't invincible by any means, so should anything happen that promise would likely be broken if he were to make it. Giving her a light pat on the head to tousle her hair a little, he let out a small sigh.
"Just.. try not to worry too much Mitsu. Between all of us, we've got some pretty tough people on our side. A few of us got hurt here and there but we've always bounced back."
The thief then shifted around some so that he was actually sitting rather than kneeling on the ground.
"Now dry your tears.. and try to feel better, ok?"
