Holding up the dirt covered relic in his hands, Mike let his excitement get the better of him, letting out a loud 'Whoooooooop!'. Even Portabello jumped in surprise. "Sorry," He said under his breath, looking around at the few annoyed people who halted their digging to plant nasty looks at the boy. Understandingly so, this was his first time digging for fossils and he just so happened to find the exact one he was looking for within an hour or so's time.
Excellent work Master, 'spoke the Breloom, a smile curved on his beak. Is there nothing you cannot do?
"Aw, quit kissin' my butt Portabello." the boy replied, patting the Pokemon on the head with a playful open palmed slap, the fossil still clenched in his left. Taking a closer look at it, the outline of a Pokemon's remains were clearly visible. The spiraled chambers coiled amongst each other, making for an almost hypnotic design. While he was inspecting it, Mike noticed how light it was for petrified rock. Mike gently tossed it up and down a few inches, a bit confused as to why it wasn't heavier. He remembered back to the PC in Fuschia, how it was an interesting bit of trivia how Omanyte specimens were so light after fossilization. It said that it was because the camerae chambers filled with air instead of rock, making for it being one of the lighter fossils. "How odd." He said to himself, as he gently brushed away the remainder of dirt.
Mike gently placed the fossil inside his backpack, grinning at Portabello. Thanks for your help.
Not a problem Master. said the Grass Pokemon, returning the smile.

Allegra gave a heavy sigh, and backed off a few steps, eyeing her opponent closely. The infatuation was definitely working in her favor, at least for the time being, and Allie knew that she had to end this; otherwise they might never find their treasure! The kitten let out a fierce growl, and summoned her energy, drawing from her teammate. The Skitty shone with a white hue for a moment, using the power of her Assist to borrow the power of Twinkers's Pound attack. The Skitty dashed forward, rearing back and bringing her front paws down on top of the Rattata's head, much like the Cleffa had done only seconds ago. With a pained cry, the purple interloper shook its head and rushed past the Skitty, knowing it had been bested. Its retreating footsteps echoed behind her until they faded completely. Allie grinned at this, but knew she couldn't relax just yet. She turned towards the tiny Cleffa, watching and waiting to see if the star-shaped Pokemon would be in need of help to drive off the second attacker.

Train looked at Pikachu. "Pikachu, come back! I'm gonna have Ratata fight this, ok?" She said. Pikachu took a regretful glance at Geodude and ran back to Train.
"Ok, Ratata! C'mon!" Train said, tossing up the pokeball. Ratata appeared in front of her, and Train caught the pokeball, then clipped it back onto her belt. "Ratata, Pursuit!" Train commanded, hoping Ratata had grown enough to know the attack.
It had, and Ratata was soon charging at Geodude. The attack didn't really do much damage, though. Definatly better for a pokemon switching out.

"Ack! Cyndaquil, Tackle it!" Kurine commanded her new pokemon. Cyndaquil did as was told, and ran at the little mouse pokemon, slamming into it. Cyndaquil then ran back to Kurine and turned to face the Ratata again.
Ratata jumped to it's feet and gave Cyndaquil a small glare. Ratata countered with a Tackle of it's own, and ran at Cyndaquil, it's small paws pounding against the ground. Ratata slammed into Cyndaquil, knocking the fire pokemon over. Ratata jumped back.

A flurry of Pound attacks quickly sent the growling Rattata into unconsciousness. The purple mouse would be okay in a while but would most likely wake up with a splitting headache, and probably think twice about attacking the pink duo again.
The threat of the purple menace being over the pair resumed their exploration of the maze, a little bruised but in much brighter spirits thanks to their victory. They passed ottomans, tables, lamps and a coat rack as they pressed on deeper into the attics gloomy depths.
"Well, that wasn't so scary after all" commented Twinkers. She paused and scratched her ear thoughtfully. "Where can that treasure be?"

Brock had made his way to the utility room of the gym. He looked at all various electrical boxes and other basic needs for a few moments until he found the water valve. There were some buttons and an emergency shut off wheel to be rotated to turn off the water system. Brock began pulling on the wheel. It moved slowly but eventually loosened so he could move it. The flow ran out rather shortly.
Brock made his way to the main part of the Gym. A mudbath. Ignoring the sloshing he was making he headed outside where everyone else was supposed to be.

Kaji waited outside with Tori as Brock fixed things up. Normally he would've helped but, Brock seemed to know just what to do and with Kaji interfering it would just be more so of a disaster. He waited, for about five minutes. Occasionally getting zapped by a tiny voltage a little less then that of static. Apparently, Rei was excited and was letting off electricity in reaction. Kaji soon enough saw Brock coming out of the gym. "Hey, sorry bout the gym. Especially over a scrimmage match." He chuckled a bit and it died down slowly when he noticed the mud on Brocks pants. "Uh, Is everything alright in there?" Kaji asked kindly. At this point Rei's sparks died down and she soon fell asleep on Kaji's shoulder.

"Don't worry about it. This kind of thing happens all the time. Well similar things do anyway since many trainers use Water pokemon against mine I'm used to dealing with mud and such in the gym." Brock said good naturedly. "It'll take a while to clean up but that is what Junior Trainers are for." Brock said winking at the two.
"Speaking of that I wonder where mine went off to..." Brock thought for a moment. "Sorry we had to conclude the match like that, but I suggest we postpone futher battles till you've trained and are ready to take me on for the badge."

Sparky sprung off Steffi's head and hissed at a small bush. A large rattata emerged, and defended itself from Sparky, who was about to attack. "Sparky! Thundershock!" Steffi commanded. The pikachu was about to fulfill his order when a high pitched voice stopped him, "No! Don't!" it called. A young girl, about Steffi's age came out from behind a tree. She was holding a pokedex in her hand, examining a caterpie. "Don't attack her!" "Is this rattata yours?" Steffi asked. It looked really strong and fierce. The girl nodded, and picked up her pokemon. "That's a really cute pokemon, is it yours?" she asked as she pointed at Sparky, who twitched his left ears as usuall and answered, "Pika?" "Yes," Steffi explained. "Isn't he cute?" she picked him up and hugged him hard. Sparky squirmed in her arms. "Perfect." the girl answered. Steffi looked confused. "I want a fight with your pokemon." she boldly stated. "Well, if thats what you want I'm in for it!" Steffi exclaimed as Sparky jumped in front of the girl, and created spars from his cheeks.

He thought to himself with a hum-like sound. " Fine. I suppose so. We'll meet up again soon Brock." he said as he began to walk offAfter all, I can't very well leave to a stronger gym without this badge. It would after all be too dangerous to parade through Mt. Moon without a source of light. A flashlight would be too bright to use as it would harm the Pokemon sensitive to it. He had to have his pikachu learn flash. "Chuu!!" Rei yawned. "Pika! Pikachu!" Rei said, trying to cheer up her master. Don't worry, we'll finish him next time boss.

Brock stood outside untill his visitors had gone away down the path. Then he noticed someone else coming up the road. "Hey Jerry, what too you so long? In your absence we've had quite a mess." Brock said as his junior trainer came back to the gym. The two were soon at work with the repairs.

Geodude grinned a rocky sort of grin. It sped at Ratata and crashed into it, in it's own strange form of a Tackle attack.
Ratata bounced off the floor, then landed with a thud. "Ratata! Are you ok?" Train cried, and Ratata stood up, shook itself, then looked at Train and nodded. "Alright...Bite!" She said. Ratata charged at Geodude, then jumped up and bit into it.
"Geo! Dude!" Geodude screamed. It hadn't thought a physical attack could've hurt it.

"Leer!" Kurine said. Cyndaquil gave Ratata a small glare. It's eyes seemed to glow, and it hoped to lower Ratata's attack power.
Ratata seemed to dissapear for a moment. Then it reappeared slamming into Cynadquil. "Cyn-da!" Cyndaquil cried, as it was once again knocked off balance. The small fire pokemon quicly jumped back to it's feet, though. The attack, though, wasn't quite as strong as it could've been, which meant Leer had worked.
"Alright then! Cyndaquil, give it another Tackle!" Kurine told her pokemon. The little tan and green fire pokemon ran at the wild Ratata, slamming into the mouse pokemon. Ratata struggled to regain it's feet.

"Sounds good to me," Kasiya said, rubbing her hands together. She pulled the collapsible Acro Bike from her pack and quickly went about unfolding it and clicking all the proper clasps and locks together. By now it was second nature to get the bike ready, and she was soon ready to be off. "I hope you're ready for me this time, Dad," she said, more to the horizon than anybody else. She pushed off; deciding to lead the way, since after all, Vermilion was her hometown. The cityscape of Saffron was soon behind them, and they passed through the southern gate without incident. Some of the guards were even starting to recognize her, and Kasiya returned their friendly greetings and waved back as they passed by. They were now traveling along Route 6, and Kasiya recalled how the last time she'd gone through here, it had been on Hiro's back. She felt a little guilty, for the Arcanine hadn't seen much battle lately either, but she'd be sure to make it up to him as soon as she could.

Allegra cheered happily as Twinkers claimed victory, and the little Skitty did a victory dance, her fluffy tail wagging around behind her with each step. She was eager to resume the search, even though the little fight had been rather invigorating. "You were great!" she told the Cleffa as they continued to delve deeper into the maze of forgotten items strewn about in the attic.
A bit of sunlight was streaming down through a crack in the window, giving them very little light to work with. By now, the kitten had adjusted to the musty old smell, as well as the eerie silence that seemed to blanket them whenever they stopped to look around and gain their bearings. A creepy creaking echoed from a corner of the room, causing Allie to startle, but the kitten recovered, rationalizing that if there was a treasure up here, it was probably being guarded by something other than a couple of restless Rattata.
