"Now that you have got that down. Lets try something a little harder. You should get it pretty quick. Everything I'm teaching you is pretty elementary stuff. And from the looks of you you don't seem like an idiot." Sensei looked at him like he was judging whether he was an idiot or not.

"I know that I'm not an idiot, but please can we continue with what you were about to teach me? I would like to get out of here as fast as I possibly can." Ishimaru was sure that it was a joke so he just joked back.

Ryu Gouken, a great fighter. A unbelievable fighter. He was trained in Gouken fashion. A master of their special chakra, their bloodline technique. Now their training was very much different then the other two that I had to record. Surprisingly, or not surprisingly, depending on how you would take it, the training at the academy in Hidden Arts takes a large amount of meditation. Two hours infact. One hour before training and one hour after training as part of a cool down exercise. The Hidden Arts more than any oter village trains the body to an extreme degree.

However, along with that, they believed in the importance of training the mind. They had quite a understanding of the powers of the mind and were legendary for their focus. The whole village, not just Ryu. In fact, Unlike the other two that I had recorded, THere was not much about Ryu that made him too much different from his fellow clansmen, or his fellow village men for that manner. Ryu lived a normal life, basically the only thing that could make him special is his drive to succeed. That was something that Ryu had in spades to say the least.

It would be a long time before Ryu would get to major training. Now he was meditating. Ryu wasw trying to calm his mind. He was trying to focus his mind on the task that would be at hand today. A lot of people meditate different ways. Ryu in particular meditates by focusing on a single object to calm his mind and enter a state of . . . well for lack of a better word, enlightenment. For him the style works very well to clear his mind. IT works very well indeed. Fortunately meditation was coming to a close because it really gets bored recording such a thing.

However, I get ahead of myself. Perhaps it would be best to start at the beginning. This is something that Ryu Gouken is good at. That thing is fighting. One could say that he lives for fighting. However, he did not enjoy fighting so obviously he did not live for it. He was nicknamed Sunshine because he was a beach blonde kid who always smiled. HE seemed to never get angry. He was just good at fighting, nothing more. He did train, but only because he knew that he had no choice in the matter. However, he did not truly enjoy it.

Well maybe that is just a little unfair. One can not say that he did not enjoy training, though it is safe to say that he did not. The thing is that he was somewhat of a health freak and also a perfectionist. He only did it to get stronger, but he would be happy if he could use his strength to heal and not to hurt. However, he would probably not get that kind of luck. Not here at least. Especially not with what he was destined to become. This boy was one of the fastest thinkers in the field and a dangerous reconnaissance genius in the field.

Of course, this is without even stepping out of the academy. The people of Hidden Arts believe in Hands on Training and the best form or hands on training in this case is war games. Large scale "wars" between the kids. Of course though the teachers would not tell them, they would never allow any of them to get hurt. They wanted them strong, not dead. They could deal with dead later, when they were not under their watch, plain and simple. This was also a good way to figure out whether or not the students are really cut out to be ninja or if they are not.

HOwever, once again, I have gotten ahead of myself. THis is all neither here nor there. Presently the subject, Ryu, has finally set off for yet another day at the academy. He knows that this is going to be different. THere are but a few days left before he leaves the academy for good. That much is obvious. Maybe one or two days tops before he couls forever say good bye to the academy. That was something to look forward to that is true. HOwever, that was going to be a very greuling two days, Ryu knew tht much already. Needless to say, it was going to be a long day.

Ryu stopped as a food stand to get something to eat. This stand may or may not be the best ramen stand in the world, however, it did serve the most healthy. The meat was lean, the noodles fresh. THe ingredients were all natural. Fortunately the food was delicious. Ryu could not complain. Hell, he loved eating there. NOt jutst was the food excellent, it was also top notch, and most of all, it was the first stand open, really early. Needless to say, it gets a lot of traffic from students going to the academy and a decent amount from students on break or leaving.

Ryu sat down in a chair. He had about an hour before he had to be in class so he had plenty of time to enjoy a meal. HE was in good enough shape that he could eat anything and not have to worry about seeing it later in the day, no matter how hard the instructors drilled them. Also it did not hurt that he has an iron clad stomach so well really he hasn't even vommited in years no matter what kind of strain he was in. Ryu ordered his meal and waited. He watched as the cook expertly prepared the meal. It was like poetry in motion in some ways if you think about it.

He was thinking so deeply about what went into making the meal in front of him that he barely noticed when the chef had completed it. He only looked up when the chef put the bowl in front of him. Ryu smiled at the man and began to eat. He ate slowly, savoring the taste of the ramen noodles and the meat. IT was really good food and Ryu did not want to waste it by rushing. He had plenty of time to enjoy the meal and that was what he was going to do. He noticed that the sun was beginning to rise. He hated mornings, that was really the only good part of being a ninja.

He was not a morning person at all. He loved the night and the night life, that was when he trived. He began to eat a little bit faster now since he knew that classes started about an hour after the sun completely rose, that gave him about an hour and a half to finish and get to the academty. THat would be easy for him but still it was always best to be safe and not sorry. Ryu was finished eating about ten minutes later. He got up, paid for his meal, thanked the chef and was on his way. He loved his stomach and that was why he always ate there. the place was always good to eat at.

That was something that he had learned over the last few months. IT was good to be almost done with his training and all the early morning exercises. He would really enjoy the free time that not going to the academy would give him. He could imagine all that he could do without the academy to slow him down. He smiled. THis was going to be quite fun. He looked around and saw that he was closing in on the academy. THat was always something good about day dreaming. It passed that time quite well. It seemed that he could not avoid the place any longer now that he was there.

Xeno was sitting calmly, his backside resting against his ankles, his legs folded at the knees under him with his feet lying extended under him. He had been like this for some time now as he awaited the approach of his master. Despite the fact he had been hear nearly half an hour he was very alter, there was no way he wasn’t going to pay attention once he finally got a change to learn ninja arts. He had already been denied entrance into the ninja academy at a younger age and it upset him to a certain degree that there were people younger than him who had already advanced further in their training than he had. Xeno promised himself that he would dedicate his attention fully to the task at hand—becoming a Genin, Chunnin, Jounin and finally a Hunter Nin. He knew it would take some time but he was willing to take it. As he returned to reality he thought for a second that he was still too caught up in his own head because what he saw walking towards him appeared to be, well, him. Xeno stood slowly and looked curiously at the figure who appeared the same as him standing before him. The person cracked a smile and in a puff of smoke became a long brown hair man, probably in his early thirties. He stuck out his hand and introduced himself as Hayden Akasun. Xeno bowed low to the man.

“Okay, Xeno Akasun, today your training starts. I warn you I will not go easy on you; I will in fact give you a hard run through. You are older than most that come here while at the same time you’re from my Clan, so I expect twice as much out of you. First off lets practice the Henge no Jutsu, with this you will be able to transform yourself into virtually anyone or anything you see as long as you stay within a reasonable height/weight range. Two warnings is that you will likely not be able to foul anyone who knows a person very well by impersonating them unless you are extremely good, and second it doesn’t change your physical abilities in the least and will dissipate during physical battle. Focus your chakra throughout your body and perform these hand seals. Its not needed but some people find saying the technique’s name helps them focus their energy into the technique,” Hayden said all while displaying the hand signs carefully for Xeno.

Xeno was a little overwhelmed but he wanted to get to work as soon as possible anyways so he could hardly complain now. He nodded and responded calmly to this teacher’s words and took everything in. He carefully watched the hand seals and motioned them as they were shown to him to help reinforce his memory. He then stood there and focused on his teacher’s appearance, he probably wouldn’t get it that close since he’d just met the man but he could try. He focused his chakra and performed the hand seals. When he finally completed the seals he focused, he was determined to show he could do it without saying it aloud. In a puff of smoke the air cleared and two Hayden’s stood next to one another. Granted one of them had the wrong eye color and the hair was a few shades off but both smiled.

When this latest puff of smoke cleared away Xeno was back to his same old self and Hayden was standing in front of him. He placed his hand on Xeno’s back and smiled, “That was very good Xeno, and you did it without the hand seal although that wasn’t entirely necessary I would have been impressed enough at someone completing this jutsu on their first try. After all, some of the most famous ninjas in history took some time to master this jutsu even while saying the name at first. Granted my eyes are green while when you changed they were still their honey color and your hair was a little bit lighter than mine. But other than that it was a reasonably good replication—especially after only knowing me for a few moments. I have to insist that you practice frequently in your free time to perfect it but I believe we can be prompt and move on to the next ninja art on our list, so to speak. Next will be Bushin no Jutsu during which we will focus our chakra outside of our bodies and force it to assume a form which replicates ourselves. Because chakra is manifested within our own bodies it will naturally try to assume the form similar to us, so these clones you do not have to think about as they will naturally resemble your true self. They are insubstantial though so for the most part they are just distractions. It disperses upon any physical contact from an outside source. Now again it might help to say the name but as you’ve shown you are dead against that, these are the hand seals though and they are of course absolutely necessary.”

Xeno watched over Hayden’s hand motions as he was suppose to and copied them once again as they were performed. He found that the repetition of actions jogged his kinesthetic learning which allowed him to remember things more easily. Hayden seemed to notice this and with a laugh he held up his hand and slowed it down which allowed Xeno to practice it again. When they had finished with the second run through Hayden performed the actual jutsu all the way through. Smoke seemed to circle around the empty space next to him and suddenly two Hayden’s were standing there smiling and waving. Then to make a point Hayden motioned to high five his clone and as soon as he hand touched the clone it dispersed in a puff of smoke.

Xeno nodded, “So these really are fragile but if used correctly you might be able to pull together an accurate distraction or confuse searches by giving someone two bodies to chase. But in up close combat they are completely useless right?” Xeno received a nod to this and took a deep breath. He performed the hand seals quickly and focused his chakra into the space next to him, willing his double to appear. It took about half a second longer than Hayden had to form the clone but finally it stood beside him. He smiled and flicked it in the forehead causing it to disappear.

Hayden crossed over to Xeno’s side once again and smiled at him, “Okay I have to admit you are doing better than I expected. Usually late comers have more trouble altering their chakra but you seem to take to it like a bird to the sky. At any rate we are about to move on to our last true technique. Don’t look so down Xeno by all means we are not done. We still have a few more techniques after this but this is the last true execution technique that we will be going through, the others are more battle application and they are performed in a different way. No hand seals should be needed when you are well practiced enough at these ninja arts and you should be able to put them into affect them seamlessly. But I am getting much too ahead of myself. The skill at hand is called the Art of Substitution, in all honesty we could skip it if you like as there are better versions and you will only find a few situations later on when you will be able to use it expertly. So I will leave it up to you on whether we go through this one right now.”

Xeno thought it over; a part of him didn’t want to waste time learning something that he wouldn’t actually need but when he thought about it a greater part of him wanted to know anything that he might be able to use as an advantage in battle. Besides he felt that with every technique he learned his control and potential seemed to grow. And more than anything he wanted to grow stronger as a person and a ninja. After all his dream in life was to become a Hunter Nin—to track down anyone who would dare betray their Village and eliminate them. His clan had been almost ruined by a Clan and Village Traitor and Xeno wanted to make it his job in life to make sure his Clan would never be shamed like that again, and if he could he hoped to make sure no one’s Clan was disgraced in a similar way. So if learning this jutsu could help him move towards this goal in any way he wanted to do it, “I want to learn this, anything that could be used in battle I want to know. Even if it seems insignificant I would like to learn it. I don’t know how much the file on me said but I hope to be a Hunter Nin one day, dangerous combat situations are a part of the job description so anything that could give me even the slightest edge would be a welcome addition to my knowledge base. So if you are okay with it please teach me this jutsu, the Art of Substitution.”

Hayden looked at him for a moment and seemed to be reassessing Xeno, his perceptions of the young boy changing. This was a fifteen year old boy, on his first day of training at the Ninja Academy and Hayden would already feel comfortable passing him. The boy knew that and yet he wanted to continue, even though it would send him down one of the most dangerous paths available to a young ninja. A wide smile once again broke across his face and he laughed, “Xeno Akasun, you are without a doubt one of the more interesting individuals that I have ever had the privilege to teach. And I say this not to deter you although in your career I am sure that there will be those who do just that, I say this out of respect for you, be careful for a Hunter Nin may be employed by a village but to a degree they are also feared. They come in contact with all the same information they are paid to hunt down and protect. This makes them both a valuable asset and a possibly liability. But enough of this upsetting talk, on to the actual technique. I expect I wont have you show you much you know the drill I’ll give the hand signals twice. This technique replaces you with an object from nearby, its good as an avoidance skill.”

Xeno watched Hayden carefully as his teacher ran through the hand seals slowly, allowing him to take them in completely and memorize them. When Hayden had finished showing the hand seals he preformed the technique and replaced his body with a nearby tree branch in a puff of smoke. Xeno didn’t need the uses spelled out for him, it may not have been completely necessary but he could definitely see how it might save him in a life or death situation. He performed the hand seals and switched places with a tree branch. Unfortunately he didn’t so much think of himself moving into a tree and he found himself awkwardly positioned halfway up a nearby tree. It took him a couple minutes of twisting around to get his arms and legs free before he hopped down. When he reached the ground he found his teacher standing at its base laughing and clapping good naturedly.

When Xeno finally got down from the tree and finished picking all the leaves and twigs out of his hair and clothing his teacher had managed to make his face into one that was at least a slight semblance of seriousness. Xeno stared at him for a moment before laughing himself; it really was funny if he let himself admit it. After a moment both of them managed to compose themselves again. Xeno had started this out being shy and almost scared of his teacher, wary to say the very least, but so much had changed. He was very lucky all things considered. Encountering his first teacher could have affected him a great deal in a variety of ways; Hayden could have pushed him back from his path and he didn’t, he had encouraged him in many ways. Already he had learned more in the past couple of hours than he thought he would learn in weeks to say the least. This day had changed him in several ways and he was glad of it, he was happy to say that it was his first steps towards being a Hunter Nin.

Xeno turned to Hayden and smiled as he spoke, “I want to say thank you. You didn’t have to treat me with any kindness or common decency. You could have tried to crush my dreams if you had wanted to but you didn’t; you chose to help me through this and treat me more like an equal than a lowly underling and I’m am just so very thankful for that. I’ve come further today than I thought I would be able to come in so much longer and I feel that a large part of that is due to you. You said from the very beginning that you wouldn’t go easy on me, that you would be rigorous and I think it ended up paying off so very much. So thank you. I just wanted to say that before we continued my training.”

Hayden stood calmly as Xeno spoke; he really was a sweet kid. It was a little bit odd that someone who seemed so gentle wanted to be a Hunter Nin, where his job would basically be killing specific individuals mercilessly. Still, the young boy seemed to have a determination which betrayed his youth. Hayden had to admit that he was proud to say Xeno was a part of his Clan. After a moments pause he replied, “I am honestly glad to have had you as a student today; you are a good and hard working student and I know that you will reach your goal. Don’t get me wrong, I worry about how this course will affect you and I think you could also excel at almost anything you set your mind to but if you choose to be a Hunter Nin then I almost feel sorry for those who would betray their Villages. Anyways lets seal the deal, not that I am in any hurry to get rid of you—don’t get me wrong I’ll happily watch your progress beyond the Academy—but I would like to get you out there as fast and well prepared as I can. Now the next two techniques we will be practicing for a little longer than the others, they will be harder to master, harder to work to your fullest and I trust you will find that they are among the most useful abilities you will come across in your time as a Hunter and as a ninja in general. They have no actual name per say nor do they have true hand seals but various people have imposed both on them to either help with focus or simply to explain them as I am going to do now. For the sake of being informed and clear we will refer to these techniques as the Tree Climbing and Water Walking techniques, as you will find the names are also sufficient descriptions of what you will learn to do with the abilities.”

At this Hayden walked back to the tree which Xeno had just spend the past couple of minutes detangling himself from and turned back to Xeno, “Okay now you do this first and foremost by focusing your chakra down into your feet. This technique benefits us in two ways; first and most broad is that it teaches you how to focus your chakra into a specific part of your body which teaches control and regulation of power. Second is in the normal application of this technique, mainly climbing trees and scaling vertical walls. This technique will benefit you a great deal, its amazing how much advantage you can gain by fighting on more than one plane. Now this will likely take a couple of tries so do not worry if it takes you more than one attempt before you can actually stick to the tree. First we will do a tree which is easier because the bark is rough. After you can scale up a tree with relative ease then you can try a vertical wall. Since it is smooth it will prove a little harder to force your chakra to cling to the wall. Focus on your chakra and aura, watch it, and force it down to your feet. Concentrate until you can almost feel it, holding you, supporting you, and then place your foot against a tree. You should feel the hold if it is there but still, when you raise your other foot up be slow and careful. You might fall. If you are up high try to right yourself but I will be here to intervene if it looks as though you wont be able to catch yourself.”

Xeno nodded and focused his thoughts on the task at hand, this sounded harder than any of the other tasks which Hayden had given to him. Still the application was obvious for battle, and besides who wouldn’t want to be able to walk on walls? Xeno grinned a little as he thought this and stepped forward up to the tree. Focusing his chakra into his feet was harder than the rest; those previous techniques were all fairly abstract in their need for a focus point. But this was different entirely; it took literally ten minutes of focus for Xeno to force a significant amount of chakra down into his feet. He lifted his foot slowly and placed it against the tree, it seemed to stick. He then slowly began to raise his other foot but as soon as he did he felt the grip slipping. He slowed and focused a little bit harder this time around, then began raising the second foot again. It took a couple of minutes for him to have both feet planted against the tree. After taking a deep breath he reached his foot up and began talking up the side of the tree, hard as it was to believe. He managed to walk up to the top of the tree and back down, he almost slipped once but he reached out his hand and altered the focus to his hand so that he could hold himself up. He managed to complete the wall test just as easily before walking back to Hayden who now stood by a small koi pond at the corner of the Academy.

Hayden proceeded on to the final step of training immediately, Xeno seemed to be on a run of sorts and Hayden would be damned if he would get in his way, “Okay Water Walking is last to go. It’s also a practice in focusing chakra into your feet, but this is farm more delicate. In some ways more would be better in Tree Climbing because it means that you have a better hold on things. Here it means that you will destroy surface tension and send you plummeting under the water. You have to spread out your chakra through your feet and balance your weight over the base of your feet. Now this water is hardly deep, so you don’t have to worry about getting hurt if you mess up. You’ll just be a little wet. Again though, take it slow, balance it out. Don’t be afraid to take your time on this one. After all we should cherish our time together.” He finished this last comment with a playful grin.

Xeno laughed a little at this and said, “In all honesty I will be a bit sad when it is all over but I really do hope to finish this and move on to bigger and better things—no offense of course.” With that said Xeno stepped up to the edge of the water and began his focus. It was much easier to focus on his feet this time around; walking up the tree had made this easy enough. But the second he put his foot on the water the surface tension what shattered. He had to call his foot back a few inches and refocus with far less chakra, but it still broke—this time he suspected because there was too little chakra to hold him up. This was much harder than the tree trick, he spent an hour modifying his chakra back and forth till he found a balance which allowed him to put pressure on his foot. He tentatively shifted more and more of his weight, finding that it held, after a few minutes he found both feet standing out over the water. He was turning slowly in place and smiling. When he finally faced Hayden the instructor smiled and said, “Xeno Akasun, I do believe that you have graduated from the Ninja Academy.”

Seto Camque, a court magician of the royal palace, lay sleeping. Just as he’d been taught by his master years ago, he had cleared his mind and released his stress of the day. Without these binding restraints, his mind was free to cross planes into a new world, where he could be everywhere without ever leaving his bedside.
Crossing over to the plane of existence between the Mortal and Spirit realms had taken much dedication and training, but once mastered Seto found himself unable to sleep unless he did so. The freedom from his body rested his soul, letting him wander the plane of dreams. He could sense the dreams of others, and the hundreds of spirits around him, some who had mastered the art, most who were without success and unable to truly let go of their earthly ties.
Seto caught sight of himself in the mirror of someone’s dream and looked away. His mortal body was of medium height, lightly tanned and layered with a fair amount of muscle. His hair was dark brown, flecked with blonde highlights, considered unusual among the people of his kingdom. But he didn’t care since he had not been born on the island kingdom. At the age of seven his family had boarded a merchant ship out of the desert village where he’d grown up. It had been because of this move that Seto had discovered his talent for magic.
Seto made a small smile at his reflection. Dark grey eyes, reflecting nothing gazed back at him and he was forced to look away again. Though he had grown used to seeing his spirit form, it still came as a surprise to him. A chill ran through his body, something called to him.
“Seto…”
The voice pierced through the barriers he’d set around his mind, examining his soul. This presence was from the World of Spirits! Seto fought to contain his excitement. He had spent many years searching for a spirit being, though he’d been told they rarely crossed into the Realm of Dreams, the dividing barrier between worlds.
“I am here.” he responded, bowing in respect though he could not see the spirit.
“There is no need for courtesy, I seek your aid. Within your kingdom is a young cleric gifted with foresight. This morning she will seek an audience with your Queen… She will try to warn her of what she has seen, only to be dragged away and executed. You must rescue and protect her until she can escape this island. Though you may deny it, I know you seek the truth about your past. Aid in her rescue and I will point you in the direction you should go.”
Seto stood in awe, a spirit asking him for help. True enough, he had no love of his kingdom, the island nation of Aquoriou. Exchanging his mediocre guard duties to obtain lost answers excited him. He’d often planned to leave in search of what had caused his parents to leave. The bargain excited him.
“I’ll help you; tell me her name…”
“Aurélie…”
Seto felt his mind pulled back down to earth with a sudden jolt. Something or someone had disturbed his sleep. On instinct he whipped out a dagger he kept hidden in his wrist guard. Nothing stood in the empty room, the memory of his dream hung over him. The small room contained a bed, mirror, window, and a basin with a spout connected to a well below. Focusing his magic on the aquamarine gemstone embedded in the wooden basin, water flowed from the spout.
Looking in the mirror Seto saw his own face again. Two orange-brown eyes looked back at him from the mirror, his own mortal eyes. Carefully he tucked his dagger away inside his wrist guard and went to dress himself. As a Magician of the Royal Court of Aquoriou he was restricted to wearing robes, along with the traditional shark-tooth necklace that signified all who worked in the castle. Deciding upon a dark blue colored robe, Seto quickly dressed himself. Opening his drawer Seto withdrew a single diamond stud earring, one of several gems he kept on hand to aid in his spellcasting.
Finally he returned to the corner of the small room and retrieved his staff. Made of oak, and crafted with great care, the staff stood up to his shoulder. The staff’s top was decorated with a dragon’s head made of silver. Within the dragon’s eye sockets were two red jewels, a garnet and a ruby, cut identically and resembling the eyes of a real dragon. A gift from his father, Seto treasured it dearly. These gemstones embedded in his staff, along with his diamond earring and a small sapphire hidden within his necklace, allowed him a moderate range of spells, as magicians must channel their energy through gemstones to cast their magic.
“You had best hurry if you intend to reach the castle in time…” The distant voice rang in Seto’s head, and he nodded in understanding. Exiting the small wooden house, he looked out into the city’s streets and felt the warm morning sun touch him. The island kingdom was always bustling with merchants, sailors, and the people who lived there. Along the coast, he saw ships docked in the harbor. Palm trees dotted the beach, thickening at parts further from the coast. Along the cobblestone roads, Seto’s house faced out towards the sea and shops selling items from around the world. The smell of fish and fresh fruit, mixed with salt from the sea, lingered in the air. Further in from the beach, upon a large hill stood the castle of Aquoriou.
Walking up the old cobblestone road, Seto couldn’t help but notice the loss of many merchants he’d once known. Along with several ships of sailors, they left east in search of new lands. They’d been branded as traitors, and the city had been told to immediately report any sighting of them. Several rumors had circulated about their new kingdom. Once he was free of the island, he would have to see it for himself.
The loud squawk of a bird roused him from his daydreams, and Castle Aquoriou rose to meet him. Long ago, the ancient magic users had brought fine-grained brown sand to the hilltop and fused it together with powerful magic. Many of these ancient texts had been sealed away within the castle, restricted to only the highest ranked magic users.
Not being born of Aquoriou, Seto would never rise to any rank higher than the local Court Magicians, a simple group of weak magic users assigned to assist the palace guards. As if to insult them further, the only magic they’d been taught to use were basic defensive spells, forcing him to study stronger magic in secret.
Frustrated, Seto took his post among the guards and scanned the area. A lone figure now traveled along the path he had taken. From his vantage point, Seto could only see pale blue hooded robes lined with golden runes, though he was too far away to read what they said. The figure held a simple wooden stave in hand and carried a white cloth pouch designed to transport healing herbs. A cleric had come today; the spirit had told him the truth!
True masters of healing magic were rare. To cast a spell properly, magicians must channel their own power through a gem. Without the proper gemstone, a magician cannot cast magic. Only one gem, apart from their sacred treasure the Orb of Water, had the power to cast healing spells. This rare blue-green gem, known as Indicolite, could channel a magician’s magic for true healing spells. Very few possessed the rare gem though, as they could only be found within the Dracor Mountain Range to the northwest. Though rumors spoke of the dragons’ extinction, there were few who could brave the craggy cliffs, frigid snows, and rockslides that plagued the higher parts of the mountain where the gems could be found. Thus, the clerics of Aquoriou relied mostly on herbs and other remedies.
A gentle breeze brushed across his face as Seto took a breath and fought to remain calm. He would have to stay at peace, within a quiet state of serenity. Panic and rage were a Magician’s greatest weakness, should he succumb to either he risked losing control of the delicate magic. To keep this cleric safe, he would have to maintain a cool head and not act rashly.
Risking another look out onto the path, he saw that the cleric was a girl, as the spirit had told him. Her skin was tanned bronze and her hair was slightly streaked with brown, common of the islanders. She was tall and thin; her hips had a light curve that he took notice of under her pale blue robes. As she came into sight, Seto could see her hazel eyes that reflected the morning sunlight. Goosebumps flecked her neck, and looking within her eyes he could sense fear. This cleric knew something terrible. Her gentle steps made no sound as she looked to the soldier Seto had been paired with.
“I seek an audience this morning. I have documents, signed and sealed.” She spoke simply, but Seto could hear the lower pitches in her voice. Her cheerful tone was a mask, a facade to hide her fear. The soldier silently waved her on, letting her pass. Seto knew this was the cleric the spirit had spoken of, the one who now walked into her doom.
Seto quickly excused himself and began to walk from his post down the path. Once out of sight, he called upon the sapphire hidden in his shark tooth necklace, focusing the radiant energies of his magic through it. His spell, channeled through the sapphire, turned his body transparent, in essence a spell of invisibility. He took care not to let his heavy steps make noise, a difficult task for him. Turning right, he arrived just as the cleric was announced into the audience chamber.
“The cleric, Aurélie, healer and scribe in training, here to see her royal highness with tidings of ill doom.”
Upon her throne, the queen gazed out uninterested as she reached towards a glass of wine. Adorned in a dark purple dress lined with gold, the queen was strict and as most tyrants are, mistook people’s intentions as attempts to seize power from her. She wore no crown, instead letting her whitening blonde hair flow down behind her. Aurélie looked up and took a deep breath, fighting against her fears. Seto took the opportunity to hide behind a pillar and remove his enchantment to save his energy.
“Your revered highness, I have come because of a vision I recently received. As the higher members of the order of clerics may have told you, I’ve been gifted with the ability of foresight. Three nights ago a vision came to me. Fire, cannons, and clashing swords surround our fair kingdom. Magic fails in the chaos and in its wake…only destruction. Our sacred treasure, the Orb of Water, stolen… I know not when or how, but I cannot deny the importance of this vision! We must flee Aquoriou, for this doom cannot be prevented so long as we remain, that much I can see clearly”
Seto felt his throat tighten; she described these events not as a premonition, but as destiny revealing its secrets to those who would listen. The queen was neither wise nor believing of what she considered fairytales designed to usurp her rule. With a raging voice, she called forth her soldiers to arrest Aurélie. He saw them coming, clad in bronze chain mail, each armed with a long spear. The young cleric was a healer, not a fighter. Taking a risk, Seto peeked from behind his cover and saw no magicians paired with these soldiers. The arrogant fools had gone up against a potential magic user without any defense. He had a chance to rescue her, but he would have to act quickly and think of a spell to defend them both.
Focusing upon the ruby within his staff, Seto ran into the fray and pulled the cleric close to him as he spun the staff and pounded it to the ground. A barrier of red light raised around them as the spearmen poised to strike.
“Stay close to me,” Seto spoke quickly in a low voice to Aurélie, “I’ll get you out of this place.”
Switching his energy to the ruby that the other dragon’s eye was made of, the spell changed from defensive to offensive. A bolt of fire flared out in front of them, clearing the path. Without hesitation, Seto pulled the young cleric’s arm as they ran down the hall. Focusing again on his hidden sapphire, he cast his magic to turn them both transparent. Keeping close to the shadowed walls, he looked towards his post. The soldier remained on guard, probably more comfortable without a magic user lurking behind him. Slipping out of the castle through the gate, Seto led Aurélie partially down the path until he turned abruptly into the forest of palm trees.
"I think we lost them, they won't think to look for us here…at least not for a while. I'm sorry for grabbing you earlier, but if I hadn't you would now be awaiting execution. The queen is insane, taking many things done with pure intentions as attempts to usurp Aquoriou from her."
"I can't leave them to their doom!"
"And if you go back they will not listen, you will be doomed with them…"
"If that is my fate, so be it…I will not abandon our people."
"They're all fools who ignore the warning signs, and not just your visions. Merchants and sailors are leaving this kingdom to form their own, trade is decreasing, and anyone with half a brain can tell something is wrong! It’s only because of a corrupt monarch that no defense has been raised. Your ‘most revered ruler’ is a tyrant who-"
"She has guided our people for nearly forty years! I will make her listen and get our people to safety!"
Aurélie bolted out of the forest and back up the path towards the castle. Seto sensed her stubbornness, knew he should probably go after her. He took a breath and burst out of the forest, a blunt force struck him from behind the head. As his vision blurred he saw two figures robed in night blue cloaks swoop over him…
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
" `Ey, you lot! I think `e's coming `roud!" a gruff voice shouted over Seto as he opened his eyes and the surrounding area came into focus.
A hulking figure stood over him, wearing pale brown clothes stained from years at sea. Several scars marred his face; a large scar across his left eye could not fully be seen because of an eye patch covering the base of it. A leather strap was slung across his back, and attached to it was a large, two-handed battleaxe. Beside him stood the two figures cloaked in night blue robes. Unadorned and hooded, they appeared to be travelers, in many ways more mysterious than most magicians. Each carried a curved scimitar of iron, a newly discovered metal. Heavier, yet stronger than traditional bronze, it was formidable on both land and sea.
"We saw ye' was headed for the castle. After teh girl more tan likely." The pirate spoke with a crusty accent that caused him to spit out his words.
"What our monstrous pirate friend here is trying to say," the taller cloaked figure spoke in a calm, business-like tone, "is we may be able to help you. You know the gates of Aquoriou are guarded by magic, allowing only certain ships to enter."
“We believe that you could try to dispel the barrier to allow us through. We’ll help you raid the castle dungeons, and then we get our share of the bargain."
Seto jolted up, "And what exactly is this share of the bargain?"
"They want treasure; we want the Orb of Water, sacred to what was once our people. It seems fitting that our new kingdom has the orb. As the old is…"
"Is what?"
"What you murmured in your sleep; fire rages, blood spills. We'll allow you to escape of course. All you have to do is lower the magic barrier."
Seto reached on instinct towards his diamond earring to cast a spell of lightning, except the gem was gone! Only now did Seto realize the two figures had confiscated his gems, dagger, and staff, even his hidden sapphire. They’d not noticed he planned to cast magic now, but had prepared for the possibility.
"Nequoriou…" he muttered the name of the figures' kingdom in a low voice none but he could hear, then looking up he said, "Give me my staff and gems back; and possibly my dagger. Then we'll discuss lowering that barrier."
The brute looked behind him towards the two figures, who nodded their heads in agreement, and he lumbered over to a locked chest. Fumbling for the key with his oversized hands, he placed it in the chest's lock and opened it. He motioned for Seto to come forth and take his items, out of distrust. With his staff and gems again in his possession, Seto was now ready to negotiate. He could probably escape, probably even break into the dungeons and rescue Aurélie; but he knew he couldn't face the entire occupying force of palace guards, let alone his fellow magicians.
"I've worked with barriers for most of my career, as I've only ever been formally taught defensive magic. The barriers of magic that protect the harbor will not be easily brought down. From what I know of it, removing it is not an option."
This did not sit well with the three so far, but Seto had expected such. He needed them to know he had his limits, and more importantly he needed them to be more than willing to provide what he needed. To do so he had to convince them that there was only one way to let them in.
"My plan then, is not to remove, but to add my will to the barrier. It is a living barrier, only those whom the casters allow through it can enter the harbor. If I can add my mind to the barrier, then I can probably get you through. Of course the spell is quite complex…and I don't have the gems required for what I plan to do."
"An' what do yeh need for this spell o' yours?" the pirate looked at Seto with his only working eye shining with greed.
"I need an opal, the gem known for aiding dreams. I'll also need a topaz, which from what I've read is a powerful channel for light magic, which is probably what the barrier consists of. I already have the third gem required, a sapphire, the gem of illusion and deception."
"Yeh say deception, illusion?"
"Yes. Sapphires come in many colors; red, green, yellow, or as mine is, a pale blue. I've even heard tales of other colored sapphires sighted. Several clear ones have been mistaken for diamonds, and other colors are mistaken for rarer gemstones as well. They are common, but unique, and are powerful aids for illusion spells. Does it make sense to you now?"
Judging by his expression, the hulking pirate had not understood a word of what Seto told him. But instead of arguing, he nodded and spoke once more.
"Aye…I'll see what me crew can dig up. No guarantees mind yeh. Stick 'round this house and me crew'll get yer gems by tomorrow at sunrise. If you don' see the gems, yeh'd best find another way to cast that spell."
He turned around and left the house, closing the door tightly around him. Looking towards his wooden basin, Seto took his dagger out and slowly began to carve the aquamarine out of it. He had a prickling feeling he would need the gem soon.
The next morning, Seto woke up with a small package next to his bed. Inside he saw a small silver ring with a topaz embedded in it; beside it laid a cracked opal. Beneath the gems, written with small fine handwriting, was a note from the two figures; "Wear the same color robes you wore yesterday so we can spot you. Head immediately past the village to the harbor and lower the barrier. Hurry, for the cleric is to be executed as the sun peaks in the sky."
Discarding the cracked opal, Seto placed the topaz ring on his finger. A damaged gem was dangerous for spellcasting. The rift could break chains of energy, and possibly kill the caster. After dressing into a clean set of robes, Seto exited the house and walked briskly down towards the harbor. About five hundred paces from one end to the other, the harbor of Aquoriou was a powerful monument to their sea trade. Two wooden towers, about ten times as tall as he was, stood out over the docks, with a third, smaller tower in between them. Each tower was constructed of crisscrossing beams, with a wide floor at the top, where the magicians controlled the barrier guarding the harbor.
Deciding it safer to work his magic from a slight distance, Seto slipped underneath the crossbeams of the center tower and sat underneath it, clearing his mind as he searched for the magic that his fellow magicians were casting. He sensed it and focused his mind inward again to the topaz ring he now wore, cloaking his mind in a gentle light. His mind floated gently within the magic of the barrier, allowing him to see things from where the barrier stood. A large wooden ship sailed close to point, flying no flags. Though he had not been told what ship to look for, Seto could sense it was the pirate ship. Other minds within the magic stood confused, uncertain of whether it was friend of foe.
"Forgive me…" Seto heard his spirit speak to the light guarding them as he lowered the barrier. He felt tears welling up from his mortal body, knew he had to return or risk losing control of his emotions.
Snapping back into reality, Seto immediately took control of his body and forced himself not to cry. There would be time for regret later, he had to rescue Aurélie. Casting his spell of invisibility, Seto bolted towards the castle. He did not have to run far; as soon as he entered the market square he saw the queen standing in the center square of the harbor, calling her people to her. Beside her stood a battalion of soldiers guarding Aurélie, whose hands were tied behind her with a rope.
"People of Aquoriou!" the queen shouted with a voice of authority, "We have gathered here to witness the death of a traitor to the throne. She spins tales and lies of doom to usurp me! She tells of disaster to force us away from our home, urging us to flee our paradise! Yet we are beyond such fairy tales…and now she will suffer the fate of all who attempt to cause panic!"
A nearby soldier handed the queen his spear, while the rest held Aurélie to the ground. The queen raised her spear over her head and spun it to make a spectacle and attract more attention before arcing it over her head, poised for a killing strike.
"Now…traitor Aurélie…Die!"
A cannonball struck the palace and exploded; fragments of stone rained from the point of impact. Seto took the cue, sent a jet of red light forward from his staff as he released the magic of his invisibility spell into the garnet in his staff. Designed to burn instead of killing, it was one of his strongest defensive spells. The crowd around him turned into a mob, someone tripped the mage and knocked him to the ground.
"Aurélie…come with me…" a white-robed magic user cut the ropes and pulled her out of the confused skirmish.
"The magician who first helped me!" she spoke looking in panic towards the mob.
"I have already paid my debt to him, there is nothing I can do to save him; his life is in his own hands…"
Seto saw through an opening in the mob, saw Aurélie vanish in a flash of light with a white-robed mage; the spirit who had called to him. Knowledge brewed in his head, the knowledge of where to search, lost memories of the desert people he could spend years browsing through, if he could escape this swarm around him.
"Spirit, you've betrayed me…" he whispered in rage.
"Your escape was never a part of our bargain. You have your information, I have whom I came for, and I've no intention of being a part of her people's doom. I advise you take her advice and flee."
"…what did I do wrong…" Seto whipped out his dagger in rage, slashing blindly at the masses around him.
"You let her go back, you enlisted the help of pirates, and you've now sealed a civilization's doom. One wrong choice led to all of Aquoriou destroyed. You are no hero, all you can do is destroy; it is all your kind have ever done…it is the nature of the desert people …I leave you now, goodbye Seto Camque."
A scimitar blade swung through the mob, and a strong arm pulled him out. The two figures led him away from the mob.
"Come with us, we have to flee here…"
"The Orb of Water, did you get it?" Seto looked to them too tired to argue with their leading him.
"That traitorous scum of a pirate captain took it for himself. It can heal any non-mortal wound…and we couldn't inflict more than a few scratches on him because of that oversized tree cutter he carries."
"So we have both been betrayed…you two go back to your kingdom. I have to get that orb…"
"You're mad, mage! You'll be killed!" the shorter of the two, the one who supported him came to a dead stop as he spoke and looked up to Seto.
"Don't wait for me…just run. I'll take care of the brute."
“I still say you’re crazy…but if you do survive…look to the lands east. There’ll be place for you in our kingdom for you…” The taller nodded to the young mage.
“Save the formalities and run you fools!” Seto screamed, not looking back as he turned around towards the castle
He saw the hulking pirate running towards them, looked behind to see the two Nequorians running away towards the docks. The topaz he carried reflected the burning flames of the town; the brute would regret it to him. Seto dropped his staff and braced himself, placing his focus on the golden gem embedded in his ring.
The pirate captain continued to charge, axe rising with full intentions to slay this young mage. As he raised his axe for a killing blow, Seto thrust the hand he carried his ring on, and a blade of light materialized from the gem’s core. Shock and rage lined the captain’s face as the shimmering blade plunged through his heart. His axe dropped helplessly to the ground and desperately clutched the Orb of Water, begging it to heal him once more. Seto forced himself to look away from the terrible sight.
The orb remained its deep blue, refusing to glow for him as the life seeped from the brute’s eyes. Seto released the spell he had cast and gently took the orb from the pirate’s hand. Examining it further, he could now see the fine features that made it unique from any gemstone he had ever seen. The stone itself was a perfect sphere, six inches in diameter, colored a deep blue. But beyond that single color one could look inside and see the shifting tides, raging seas, and gentle flow of the great rivers. Embedded in a silver casing shaped like waves that added another inch to its diameter, it was a beautiful treasure to behold. He felt the orb glow slightly, a cool sensation tingled through his body as the bruises and cuts he had taken from the mob healed themselves. True healing powers did exist within this orb…the legends were true.
A scream broke his awe, and Seto looked out beyond only to be brought to tears. Aquoriou was burning, people fled in terror of the pirates, looting and killing everything in sight, setting fire to what they did not need. They were destroying the city; there would soon be nothing left but ashes.
He felt power radiating from the Orb of Water; if he were to channel his magic through it he could destroy this horror. Flames now consumed the docks, a single small ship escaped out into the ocean. The two men of Nequoriou had done as he’d said, fled and not waited for him. Two choices remained, kill the pirates or die.
“I’ve brought this doom upon them…it seems fitting that I should be the one to stop it. Aurélie…I suppose your prediction was right; I’ll grant you that much, you did have the gift of foresight…but even you couldn’t see this. You didn’t see how, or if, it consumes everything. This whole mess is my fault…but it ends now.”
Seto picked his staff up off the ground and reached once more for his magic. Clutching the Orb of Water within his hand, he channeled his energy through it. He heard them, the voices of ancients who long ago had forged the orb. They called to him, studied his very soul, judging his worth. With a gentle glow, the Orb of Water added a fraction of its own energy into the spell. The raw power was overwhelming, but his mind was relaxed, he had perfect control; the pirates would not escape this spell. A terrible scream shook the air, the pirates were close; the scream had been that of a young woman. His mind shifted to Aurélie and the spirit who had told him to rescue her. He had been given knowledge, but to pay for it he now risked his life. That traitorous fiend had abandoned him for the cleric. She was all he was interested in, not Seto.
Keep in control!
He felt rage building; he saw the masses of pirates coming closer. No! There was still time, he had to make use of every second to finish the spell! Panic shook his body, rage consumed his mind. He was too tired to fight for control of these turbulent emotions; the magic was slipping from his control. Yet magic does not just vanish; the power must be used. Seto had put most of his energy into casting his spell, the chaotic and delicate magic now slipped from his control, consuming him as his rage had; he felt the power of the Orb of Water, calling to him. The last thing he heard was the spirit’s distant voice…
“I leave you now…goodbye Seto Camque…”

Seto woke with a Jolt, recalling the day.... he knew that it was all a nightmare; that he had not died... But it had been by pure chance... Having thrown away the orb seconds before it exploded; Seto had been able to cast a wall of churning wind around himself and instead of killing him, he'd been blasted miles backwards into the Ocean, and knocked unconscious... Found by the villagers of Hidden Cloud, and sent for training, Seto had risen in the arts quite quickly, despite his fear of losing control again. However, within time he now understood his power, he would never again lose control as he did; and one day he would find that spirit who tricked him, and destroy it... Checking the clock, Seto leaped out of bed and quickly dressed, realizing he'd almost missed his Graduation!!! "Time to get out of this hellhole, I'm going to see the world!!!!" Running out and merging into the crowd, he sighted one of his former roomates, and a world-class alcoholic, Seto cast the Art of Substitution and swapped places. The butt munch was likely suffering a hangover anyway, so he wouldnt be missed. As the Graduation Ceremony concluded, Seto walked down towards the docks, now in the attire of a Hidden Cloud shinobi; and boarded the ship that would take him to his new Home...

Fen knew it was, the final exam which he is allowed to Enter before being kicked out of the Ninja Academy, But Fen had determination in his soul, none stop training for the last several years, but he still can't do it, still can't master the tree running Jutsu. Fen stood below the tree in the training ground "I Shall master you this day! Today shall be mine for victory you stupid Tree!" The main reason Fen couldn't do this was due to his massive body size, making him heavier then other Ninjas, and the wooden Log which he wear upon his back surely doesn't help. Fen will never take this off, if he doesn't learn with it on then he will never be able to do it.

Fen would think about how he would finally Finish the exam, Fen woke up early so He could wait and think about it, for hours Fen would sit there and think. Finally the instructor would arrive at the training grounds. Fen had the same instructor every year, but never spoke to him or even made contact to him. Fen didn't like to be able to blame someone by name, when he knew it was his own fault really. Fen would stand up and look towards the Instructor, silent Fen would bow with hands beside him. The instructor would talk to Fen, this was only the second time after they first met "Fen, Today is your last Chance to Pass...Good Luck" The instructor would sound very serious.

Fen would suddenly crack a smile, walk towards the instructor and hug him tightly. This would be strange and unexpected..also painful because Fen would work out constantly. Releasing his grip, Fen would turn back towards the Tree and charge towards it, every step was heavy and loud, the first foot to collide with the tree would cause it too shake slightly. The second foot quickly follow, then the third but not followed by the forth. Fen slipped and fell backwards on the hard ground.

Standing up again Fen would glace upwards, he hadn't even made it past head height. Standing Still Fen would concentrate on his feet, then place his right foot up against the hard wood, then slowly bring his other foot up to touch the tree softly. Pulling himself up the tree Fen would keep his eyes close, Fen would get about 6 foot steps up then lose it, Fen would make his feet scurry quickly against the tree, this would just bring off bark. Once again, Fen fell towards the hard ground.

Fen decided it was the last chance he had, Fen was over using Chakra, that is why he kept falling. Fen decided to concentrate less on his Chakra and more onto something else. Fen would pull a Dumpling out of his Pocket, using his Massive Muscles Fen would throw the food into the sky above him. Suddenly the Hunger from being up so early and over using Chakra would kick in, Fen would plant his foot onto the tree bark and would start to run up the tree. Fen wasn't surprisingly fast but he was determined to catch up with the Delicious Dumping, made by his mother, nothing sweeter then Dumpling made by someone who cares.

Fen would catch up to the Dumpling and catch it in his mouth and swallow it down without even trying, Fen would then look down "Oh MY GOD!!" Fen would shout at the top of his voice. Fen Done It! Made it all the way to the top "I did it!" Fen would shout towards his Instructor who would respond with "Well Done Fen." Fen would then look surprised "You actually remember my name?" Fen would say as he walked down the Tree. The instructor responded with "OF course! I had a bet on you that you would pass this year!" Fen wouldn't look to happy about.

Fen would run though the Trees, Well actually Fen would run UP the trees now. Fen would shout at the top of each Tree "I DID IT!" Fen had finally passed, but passing wasn't good enough for him, now he had a taste of victory Fen would go to pass a few other things He failed once before. This included Art of Substitution, Water Walking along with some quick training exercises such as Weight Lifting, Dummy Fighting and Sparing

Fens excitement sent him speeding though the streets until he burst his way into the classroom "I'm here to show you my skills!" Fen would shout, but suddenly all he could here was little kids crying. Fen would take a proper look, he had ran into the younger kids classroom and gave them all quite a shock, looking towards the teacher Fen would see that he looked furious. "Oh I'm Sorry" Suddenly the teach threw a board eraser towards Fen who would grab onto it "Hey!" Fen would shout towards the Teacher who proceeded to throw more things at Fen. "Do you have any idea how difficult it will be for me to stop he children from crying!" The teacher was NOT Happy.

Fen would then run out of the class room being chased by the Teacher, in a panic Fen ran towards the hot springs. Fen was some how running slightly faster then the teacher, most likely because of the amount of Fear coursing though his veins. Fen would look backwards and see that the teacher was catching up, in a quick panic Fen look back in front of him to see the hot springs up ahead 'I don't have time to stop!' Fen would think to himself, suddenly Fen didn't change anything, except the amount of Chakra going into his feet, before Fen knew it he was running over the water "I did it!" Fen would yell back at the teacher who just stopped and smiled, the teacher then whispered to himself "He He Now i have won the bet"

Fen would continue to run over the water until he reached the wall at the end which he would run up and over landing in a different hot spring. Fen couldn't see anything for a little while because of the hot water in his eyes, once Fen could see, he realised he was in the wrong place, surrounded by Women covered in towels "Umm"
"Get out of here perv!" One of the Women would shout
"I didn't mean too I was..." Fen was suddenly slapped by a heavy hand, which was then continued by several other slaps. Then a powerful looking Women would walk over, and pull her fist backwards, Fen panic and would think back to his training, then it hit him. Placing his hands together Fen would shout "Substitution" suddenly Fen was replaced by a backpack from one of the nearby ladies who was still dressed.

Fen had quickly left the hot springs and headed to the training Zone, here he could spar with one of the instructors, Fight with the Dummies to increase stamina and Lift weights. Fen would first of all Head over to the weights, as the Sparring arena was already being used. Going to the heaviest set of weights, most of the time only used by instructors. Fen would bend his knees and place both of his hands on the bar of the weights, pulling the weight up towards his chest and resting the bar upon his chest. Fen would then notice some Girls enter the training room, removing one hand from the weights Fen would lift it above his head with one hand while bending the other arm to flex the muscles.

Fen loved to show off, but the girls weren't looking and Fens arm was getting tired quickly. Trying to hold it higher and longer Fen started to sweat as his arm would give away with the weight, nearly dropping them Fen would lift his other arm to grab onto the Metal bar once again.

Fen would put the weight down Quickly nearly dropping it onto his own feet. Fen would notice the sparring arena was still being used, so instead it was time for the Dummy. Fen would walk over to the Dummy and deliver a kick which sent it spinning "Oh I love this" Fen would then reel his arm backwards and send it flying towards the Dummy , smashing the middle of it with extreme force. Fen would then bring both his arms up into the sky and bring them down on the shoulders of the wooden Dummy. Causing the Dummy to splinter at the sides, a lot of the Ninja in the room would notice this. Fen then looked backwards "Oh yes the sparring Arena is free!" Fen would actually skip over to the arena and take a defensive stance.

Fen would notice that all the low ranked Ninja would step away from the sides of the arena "Oh come on!" Fen would shout, then a voice would come from someone near the back of the crowd "I will fight you" Then a Instructor would step forward. Fen would suddenly not look so tough "Umm that's not fair! But I will fight you i guess..." Fen would stand still, suddenly the instructor would dash forward and deliver one blow to Fens large forearm "OUUCH!" Fen would yell, the instructor nearly broke his arm in one hit. The instructor would then land a lot of little hits all around Fens body until Fen would shout "Okay I'm Done Now!" The instructor would stop and then bow to Fen, whereas Fen just stood there now covered in bruises.

Without a sound Akai made his way towards the Academy, though he was not one for intense training, he figured that as long as he got this over with, he could go into the real world. Casting his gray eyes to the area before him he wonders if there would be a teacher, who would be free to train him in a few things. "More of a touch up..." He mumbles dryly to himself, setting off to a major training area and looking around. Cant really find any one yet.. So I might as well train on my own for now... He thinks, as he looks around the area once again, pushing a few strands of white hair from his face.

Upon entering the training grounds, he instantly moves to a half wall and sits down, closing his eyes and sighing lightly. "A teacher will show up soon enough.." He murmers, before crossing his arms across his chest, and keeping his eyes closed. He remained silent now, listening to his surroundings. His white haori shifting against his bare chest, with the occasional soft breeze, occasionally revealing the Daikatana on his back, half hidden beneath the folds of the sash holding it in place.

Kekkaishi sighed as he grabbed the jewel on his necklace." so this is the academe huh?"he whispered to himself.he looked around and saw many people training, a small smile appeared on his face."perfect."he walked into the training area of the academy hoping to find a good teacher.

A few minutes later Kekkaishi was sitting in the locus position on top of a log.He was just about to run out of patience. oh by the flames of the underworld where the hell are the teachers. he let out a frustrated growl as two young girls with a teacher passed him.He looked at his kusari-gama foundly, it was the first weapon he ever obtained trough his own skill. it is very simple in design simply a piece of wood with sharpened metal on top and a chain with a weight in the bottom.

"that's a very high skilled thing for one such as you to have"
Kkkaishi turned around to see a man of about 5'12" staring at him with light blue eyes.the man is wearing a black cloak that covers his body." my name is Seya and i shall be your teacher. now begin to meditate" Seya threw a kunai at Kekkaishi's kusari-gama. the kusari-gama turned into a puff of smoke.damn how did he knew it was a fake? wait what is that? Kekkaishi saw that Seya was holding out a scrool that showed he was a teacher.Seya smiled as Kekkaishi closed his eyes and began to count his breath.

Kekkaishi soon felt himself getting lost in the darkness that was his mind. he suddenly heard his teachers voice. " your doing horible by the way. your posture is great, but you dont actualy meditate you just blank out. damn did i snore? "to believe you are there son. i guess we can begin now.okay now i will begin to throw soem things near you and do some jutsu's. you must stay in the state you are in."
((meditation:1/3))

Kekkaishi almost sighed before he remembered his father words, he repeated them to himself over and over till he calmed down. to meditate means to be nothing He never before understood what that meant until he felt as if his body was in the hearth of a fire, he fought the urge to scream in pain and agony, he let the pain go into his mind deciding to fill his mind with many toughts til there seem to be nothing going on around him.
((meditation:2/3))

Seya was impressed by Kekkaishi. he then began to increase the amount of things going on in his mind.Seya was proud of his own accomplishment, he had put Kekaishi in a genjutsu, after about thirty minutes of always increasing the heat seya got bored." okay you can wake up now"Kekkaishi opened his eyes as the genjutsu finished."now what?Seya smiled and began to walk as kekkaishi fallowed him

Walking into the her first day at the academy Ayami was ecstatic to begin the road down the road toward her dreams . upon her arrival she was greeted by a friendly Chuunin who was holding a chart in his grasp. " Ahhh I can tell by that look in your eye that you must be Uchiha Ayami , We have heard much about you Ayami and how your determination seems infinite. " Ayami seemed short for the right way to put it so she just gentle smiled and nodded to the Chuunin . " Great then lets get you started shall we ? My name is Kasai and I'll be your instructor for today's lessons ."Ayami watched as the instructor waved the way toward the training area and Ayami followed .

Upon their arrival at the training room Ayami and Kasai found a spot for themselves to train near a indoor pound . " Alright Ayami day we are going to learn some basic movement skills. The first of which is water walking , Now Ayami this i when you pay attention . " Ayami watched closely as she watched Kasai walk toward the water' edge. Kasai slowly walked on top the water and turned toward ayami so that they were face to face so she could clearly see that his feet were indeed on top the water. " Ok this is how it' done . The first thing you want to do is concentrate your chakra into your feet . Now a you know water is not a solid surface so the ability to freely adjust the amount of Chakra is essential to this skill. Now Ayami i want you to take a shot at it. "

" Yes Kasai-sama " Ayami stated as she made her first approach toward the water's edge . She slowly closed her eye's as Ayami flowed her chakra into her feet and took that first step into the shinobi world . For a slight moment Ayami was standing upon the water just to quickly get what Kasai was saying how the ability to shift one's level of chakra was important as she plunged into the pond. She quickly resurfaced and spit a stream of pond water out her mouth . Kasai couldn't help but chuckle at the shinobi's first dive . " Good work ayami , But i see you problem you need to relax and let the chaka freely flow through your feet . Find the the rhythm of the water and follow it with you chakra. " Kasai explained a Ayami pulled herself out the water and looked at the pond' surface. " follow the rhythm of the water with my chakra , flow freely. "

Ayami closed her eyes as she took her second attempt at walking on water . This time she could feel the difference see slowly placed he feet upon the top of the water and started to take short steps toward Kasai who was more toward the center of the water. Kasai was watching with a smirk on his face as he watched his student edge her way toward him . soon Kasai couldn't help but stomp his right foot on top the water and slowly started to create ripples in the pond. Ayami was watching her sensai close as she tried to figure out what he was doing. But before it hit her ayami quickly found herself once again in the murky water. But this time she was puzzled unaware of what had happened. " Ayami your doing great but you got to focus more on your control . I was tapping my foot to harbor vibrations that would throw off you rhythm . Being aware of the changes in your environment can cause the water to switch and move in a different way so you have to be aware as well as loose to make these transitions ".

" I see now , since this is a man made pond such elements as wind change and water disruption besides my own are absent from this area . Leaving only Kasai-sama's own water disruption as a changeable element to the water . So If im to master this ill have to focus more not on the water but his movements to caculate the extra chakra that hould be added to my feet to maintain on top of the water . " Ayami once again made her way out of the water and continued with her water walking lesson . Taking to her third attempt at the skill ,quickly she took the first steps onto the the water . Now she was getting the hang of the concept Kasai was explaining . soon her tiny steps turned to slightly bigger forward footsteps . Ayami quickly began to feel the firm placing of her feet again the water. But soon then the taps of Kasai began to grow in repetition . Watching closely to the disruption Ayami started to increase the chakra input to her feet as kasai's disruptions slowly started to eat away at Her footing.

soon Ayami's feet were not on the surface of the pond but she still managed to keep her waist above the water. Kasai then stoped hard and watched as Ayami plunged into the pond for the third time. " great work i can see your really working for this Ayami . Just remember what i said and try again." ayami once again pulled herself out of the water ready to give the lesson another go . " Right sensai " ayami said with a smile as stood for a moment at the water's edge . she was clearing her mind think of what Kasai was teaching her to follow , focus and flow just like water . Once again ayami stepped out on to the water soon she started to take quicker steps and more and more kasai's disruptions had less eefect on her movements. Forcing Kasai to have to switch it up some more. But this too had no yield on Ayami's movements as she moved closer and closer to Kasai's position on the pond.

Ayami was dumb founded by the pace in which she had adopted to the lesson and how quick she saw the gap between her and her sensai stated to close in . But then something happened that she never expected too. Kasai began to move more and more and more from Ayami. This continued till the two were in a full blown match of tag on the water's surface. The closer ayami got to Kasai the faster he moved away from her. soon both Kasai and Ayami were bouncing around on top of the water , Ayami coming closer and closer to tagging her sensai and completing the lesson. Soon it started to become natural to follow the water and balance the chakra levels in her feet to move around the water top freely. Final Ayami did it she tagged kasai a he came to a halt on the water. " congratulations Ayami you proved that you can walk on water . this will come in handy when moving around in battle and getting around certain obstacles you may encounter during missions and training."
