Sometimes I wonder if that's why a lot of TN's border disputes ended so peacefully whereas other states would literally come out to fight each other and even threaten "war." *coughOHIO&MICHIGANcough* TN had a reputation for being scary for a really long time so I sometimes question if his neighbors were a little nervous about pushing him...

Tennessee has a weird attitude towards the death penalty. I don't know the current numbers, but at one time the stats on the death penalty listed all the other Southern states as using the death penalty at over 15-20 times during the study. A lot of them well over 30 or even 40 times. (I think Texas was something crazy like 50, but I can't remember) ... and what was your number, TN?

Yes, 6. Tennessee seems to have a habit of initially sentencing people to death, but then later after he calms down he suddenly feels all guilty about it and repeals the death sentence. I think a senator summed up TN's feelings on the subject pretty well when he said something like "It feels like we're going back and shooting the enemy after we've already won the war..."

So... TN can be pretty brutal and hard when it's in the heat of the moment, but if he's calm and takes the time to think it over then he's surprisingly gentle. He's like that with a lot of things, actually.

I'm not sure what to do with Finland now that Sweden is MIA... I might just fudge some reason for him to be like "Oh, Berwald went to sleep! I'm going to stay up and party anyway! emotion_awesome "

Hmmm... Texas' Revolution was 1835-1836ish I think... Which I guess is when they would have first met. (I'll just make him a generic little kid for that?) So TN would be around 60-70 at the time which I guess would land him kind of close to preteen age.

Phew. Almost done... I just need to finish coloring in the grey/black stuff so it looks better, but my hand started hurting a little so I took a break to read more about Georgia... And I found a great story about how Georgia saved Tennessee and Kentucky~! emotion_kirakira

I'm too tired to do a full-on history rant about it, but Georgia was the one who uncovered the Aaron Burrs conspiracy and set off the alarm. We still don't know today if former Vice President Aaron Burrs really was actively trying to do this or not, but what everyone suspected him of doing was separating TN and KY from the rest of America, taking the recently obtained Louisiana Purchase and creating his own separate empire/nation.

The only thing we really know for certain he was trying to do was gain TN and KY's favor so they would support him politically. Which really wasn't hard to do since at the time TN and KY were still pissed at America for how he'd treated TN during the Southwest Territory phase, closing off their access to the Mississippi River and basically everyone just not being very nice to the western states (TN and KY were the west at this point in time) All Burrs really had to do was be nice to them and praise them a little before he had their respect and devotion. (TN and KY were super under appreciated and not very well loved so it was almost pitiful how easily they were swayed by anyone who stuck up for them even a little...) When Aaron Burrs said "Hey, want to invade and conquer New Spain? It could be fun" they didn't think it was suspicious at all and happily agreed. (They blamed Spain for encouraging the Indian Nations to attack them so giving him a solid kick in the balls was right up their alley)

When Georgia found a letter which exposed the plot, he was instantly alarmed and warned everyone that Aaron Burrs was trying to trick and take away their western siblings. Naturally VA, NC and even SC were super pissed someone was trying to mess with their little brothers and the man hunt began. Even after Aaron Burrs was captured and sent to trial, both TN and KY were like "What? What's happening? That's our friend... emotion_8c Our friend wouldn't lie to us... right?" <-- Those two were scary violent, but really naive. ^^; Even if Aaron Burrs wasn't trying to separate them from the Union, tricking TN and KY into invading New Spain would have been a huge problem. Luckily Georgia was there to stop someone from taking advantage of his very naive and easily tricked baby brothers.
