"Roger that."
With a short nod, he looked over the map once more before exiting the room. Shun would then go and stock up on a few things he would need for this; sedatives, a syringe, some vials, some more medical supplies, and rations. As soon as he had everything he needed, he mounted up and headed on off. At first, he thought of possibly enlisting his friend for some help, but quickly reconsidered.
Suto's interest in the animal-folk may tempt him into taking Bent-Tail soon after the job was done with. That wasn't exactly something Shun wanted to deal with.
And once again he was in the freezing air, riding out west so he could prepare.

Eager for something to fill their stomachs, Yuki and Hitsu had followed wordlessly back toward the palace and into the gardens. Even before they reached the tent set up with the feast, the scent already reached them both and had their mouths watering in anticipation.
Thankfully, both seemed to remember their manners and quietly took vacant seats and allowed the servants to push them in and provide them with napkins. Both said their thanks, looking down to Hakim.
"Thank you for your kindness, Sir." Yuki offered respectfully, finally giving a sincere smile. Now that he was clean and able to relax a little - now that the pain had faded - Yuki was beginning to lighten up; after all, what idiot would attack this city?
"Everything looks delicious..." Hitsu said, staring and clearly in awe. Where to start? What were those weird fruits she saw? They were fruits, she thought.

Mitsu wasted no time when she got the go ahead to dig in. Trying not to greedily grab without thought, she pulled some of the closest items onto her plate. She didn't even seem to spare the food much thought on what it was or what it might taste like as she took her first huge bite and swallowed. Just like a normal wolf she didn't waste much time with chewing, merely tearing the food and swallowing.
Neko was a bit more tactful as he filled his plate. It didn't keep his stomach silent, however, as it grumbled loudly. Grabbing the first piece of meat he had found that looked a bit like chicken, he bit in. His eyes nearly rolled back into his head with pleasure as the flavor hit his palate. It was like chicken, but oh so much better. There was a slight chance that the flavor seemed better only because he was starving but it didn't seem to matter. After a few bites of food Neko reached for the goblet and drew it to his lips. He nearly took a sip before the smell of alcohol hit his nose and nearly made him lurch.
Drawing the cup away from his face he stared at the drink on the brink of a conundrum. He wanted to drink it but his body was telling him it was a bad idea. It wasn't hard to see why that was, his last two outings of drinking hadn't gone exactly well. Setting the cup aside Neko tried to forget it as he went back to his food.

Noticing that everyone else was starting to eat, poke decided it wouldn't be rude to start eating either. She wasn't particularly choosy with her food either, taking things that were either very exotic and meaty looking or more familiar to her.
Happy with her selection she picked up her first item and took a experimental bite. The flavors that hit her mouth almost made her lose control and stuff the hole thing in, it was that good. Trying to maintain composure she continued to eat. It felt like each piece of food tasted better then the last.
When she felt it was high time to drink something she went for the goblet next to her. Before she could drink it she noticed neko had put his drink down without drinking it. Why would he do that? it was then she looked into the cup and realized the liquid was red.
Trying not to be conspicuous, she placed the cup back down. She had no tolerance to alcohol, and she did not want to think what would happen if she did decide to drink it...

Hakim watched as everyone took their place at the table. Spotting Poke, he remembered that she was the one that was brought in separately from the rest of the group.
"Ah, I am Hakim," he introduced to her, "And welcome to our city... are you feeling any better?"
Keeping himself under control, Blade filled his plate and begun eating without another word. The food here was absolutely delicious! Between that and his own hunger, he had some trouble to not completely gorge himself here. As he glanced at the others, he noticed that some were not holding themselves back so much.
He went ahead and took the goblet, considering drinking a little. Normally he would avoid alcohol, not liking getting drunk and all, but a little couldn't hurt tonight. Just as long as he kept track of how much he was drinking, he should be fine.
The dragon elder couldn't help but chuckle as he saw the group begin to eat. He had to wonder when the last time these people had received a decent meal. Several other questions floated through his head, but he refrained from asking.

"This can't be real." Zombie Riyo finally said, eyes still like saucers. It was as if she sensory overloaded.
Atticus, who had finally gotten around to serving his own plate, paused and placed the bowl back when an ample amount of the goodies inside now took residence in front of him. "It's real. Stop being over-dramatic and try it if you're in such disbelief." He managed to get out before he took his first bite of food. Better than the stuff Mother made. Ten times better, in fact. Okay, perhaps it was a little bit of the fact that they hadn't eaten in so long... But that didn't change the fact that this was probably the best meal he'd ever had.
That brought Riyo back a little. She glanced at all the food to choose from, finally grabbing an unidentified piece of meat. Slowly, she took a bite of the drumstick-esque substance and froze.
It... Was amazing. Like some kind of magical food that makes you feel good all over. Without hesitation, she started to devour the meat, scooping more things on her plate as she finished. All of it tasted good. Different reasons for each dish, but all still delicious.
She paused momentarily to take a big drink of whatever was in the cup. She liked the fact that it was red, but the liquid itself tasted a little funny. Like a combination of grapes and... Something else. Riyo gave a shiver after she sat the goblet back down, the glass now half-empty.
"You shouldn't-" Drink that... Atticus had paused from his careful dining and wondered just how badly this would go. It was fairly obvious from her reaction and the way she'd gulped it down. So that probably meant she was a light-weight, too.
Atticus glanced to his own goblet. He himself didn't drink much, so he only took a sip of his. There was no way he would be getting drunk after what had already happened today. Something in his slowly filling gut told him that instance wouldn't be the last soul-crushing thing that occurred today.

For a while the silence during eating was fine. Neko was as eager to stuff his face as the next person. But as the food began to settle and his hunger lessened he began to realize the questions he should be asking. There were quite a few things piling up in his mind that he hadn't even realized until the problem of food was out of the way. It worried him a little to think of what would pop up after a good nights sleep. He still as of yet had only an hour or more of sleep in the past couple of days.
Now that he realized he had questions he wondered what he should start with. They needed to figure out what they were going to do. Would they stay here? Could they stay here? It seemed rather safe despite how leery some appeared. Others were a little too enthusiastic but that was another issue. And what had happened to Poke? She had no doubt been abducted but by who and why? Would this person be looking for her? As he thought the last couple of questions Neko's gaze passed over the fin girl. It had been so long since they had seen her, she seemed okay if not drained, though Neko could only imagine what a trip into the desert was like for someone who survived in water.
Neko's eyes then settled on Riyo as she downed the glass of wine. At least it wasn't him this time? He imagined Riyo would be a little easier to contain. "Well, this should be interesting in about five minutes."
It didn't take long for Mitsu to fill up at the rate she was going. Finally she paused to have a drink of water before shoving another item of food into her mouth. In all honesty she couldn't taste much but what she could taste was delicious. It was amazing to realize that none of the group had had a decent meal in days. Once she felt her hunger waver and nearly choked for the third time, Mitsu's pace began to slow. She was finally passed the starving phase to the enjoy your meal phase.
Turning her head from side to side she looked for Tobi to see if he wanted anything. Upon finding him she was pleased to see he had been given his own little feast. They had set him up a little place setting on the ground much like what everyone had on the table. They had even gone to the trouble of trying to tie a napkin around his neck which he kept getting his paws caught on in his hast to move through his meal.

Eating quickly, but silently, Blade was starting to feel a bit better as his belly began to fill. As he heard Atticus say something to Riyo, he glanced up to see that she had downed quite a bit of wine. Hopefully she wouldn't end up being a violent drunk or anything along those lines.
He himself only drank a little more before switching to water.
As the guests ate, Hakim observed them all, being fairly amused with the lot. When his eyes fell onto Mitsu, he noticed something attached to her ear. At first it seemed like an odd earring but he realized it was something quite different. A small number of dragons before had a similar 'accessory' after a run-in with a certain man. Frowning at this, he turned towards her to ask something.
"Ah... Mitsu was it? You've managed to escape from the golden-eyed devil.. haven't you?" he asked softly.

At first Hakim's words did not register. She didn't really grasp that he was talking to her. But then the words started to sink in, golden-eyed devil, she knew that person. She knew him well. Her eyes grew wide as she slowly turned to look at the elder dragon. How did he know of this man? It had been so long since she had thought of the scientist, even though they were 'running for their lives' it had been a much more blissful experience than any she had had so far. To be outside, in the fresh air, to see the sun, it was so amazing. But now her mind was clouded with thoughts of a cold room with nothing to look at. All was white and sterile.
At first she looked like she was going to say something, maybe confirm or reply, but her mouth merely moved and no words came out. Like a fish out of water. Without thinking she reached up and touched the tag at her ear, forever the reminder of where she had been unless she braved up enough to rip it from her lobe.

Goldeneyed devil? thought Blade, not sure what the dragon was talking about. As he ate he just quietly listened in.
The girl may not have said anything, but her body language spoke well enough. Hakim closed his eyes momentarily and shook his head to himself. So she did escape from that man, if he could even be called as such. It may explain her rather meek demeanor she seemed to have.
"I see... well fear not child. You are safe from him here. I don't think he would dare to try and come here, or send anyone for that matter. I'm sorry you had to go through whatever happened," he said solemnly.

For a few minutes poke was content to just eat, happy to be filling her stomach with a substantial meal, and happy to not have to hear her stomach complain about not having anything. She was even able to replace her goblet of wine with water, where she poured herself a glass, downed it, and then poured another glass. She did this about...4 times, until she felt satisfied enough. It was then she heard Hakim ask mitsu about the golden eyed devil. She looked up to see mitsu was indeed troubled by it.
Well, not s**t sherlock. Of course she's gonna be troubled by that freak of a man
Poke didn't feel like eating anymore. She pushed away her plate, settling back in her chair with her arms folded. Eyes scanning the table she knew that she needed to tell everyone what happened. She had to. They needed to know exactly how much trouble they were in. Her gaze then fell on neko who seemed to have stopped eating as well.
"Hey, neko.." she started to say to him. "I think now would be a good time to tell you exactly what has happened..."

Within a few minutes, Riyo's plate was clean and so was the goblet. And she had to say, she felt funny. Real funny. She could see shapes and figures, but the faces were becoming more and more blurry. Unable to sit up completely, she slouched in her chair and laid back like she was about to take a nap. She wasn't listening to any conversation in-particular, just sort of enjoying the noise. Her tail swayed erratically behind her, giving an idea of how drunk she was.
Atticus hadn't eaten as much as everybody else. He didn't need to, considering his weight. When the elder dragon began speaking to Mitsu, he couldn't help but become interested. He'd often wondered what they were running from, but never gotten a chance to ask. Maybe he'd find out now.

Neko's eyes had trailed from Riyo to Mitsu in an instant. While they had been traveling together their biggest worry had always been the hound. It wasn't until now that Neko realized he never did get an answer to the question he had asked her when they first met. What had the hound meant then? The blood on her hands. Mitsu didn't seem the type to take anyone's life and looking at her now, frightened by the mere mention of a man he knew it couldn't be true.
Then Poke spoke up and she instantly had his attention. With a nod he pushed his plate aside ready to listen. "So...what happened?"
Mitsu slightly nodded to Hakim, her wide eyes turning back to stare at her plate. Suddenly, she was no longer hungry. Despite how good everything had tasted she was certain it wouldn't taste the same now.

Once everyone else had begun digging into the food when given the go-ahead, Yuki and Hitsu reached out to fill their own plates. Yuki seemed more eager to take things that looked familiar to him, while Hitsu braved a few of the foreign looking dishes.
Yuki had managed to pick up some of the meat that he had assumed was chicken, though in his haste of eating it he probably wouldn't have been able to confirm whether it was or not if anyone had asked. After a second helping of the so-called chicken, then a third, Yuki finally seemed to slow a bit and begin to pick up things that weren't meat. Only because Hitsu had looked at him in disapproval for his lack of the other food groups, otherwise he probably wouldn't have thought of it. His goblet of wine had been drained at least three times in a short period. The food was helping to soak up most of it, but even a full stomach couldn't rid the effects of the alcohol completely.
"Everything is wonderful..." Hitsu had stated in between bites, eating quickly due to how famished she was though still managing to keep her manners in tact aside from that. It was like Heaven; or, how she would have thought it to be; the awkwardness of the bath house was long forgotten as Hitsu dubbed this one of the best days of her life.
When their eating began to steadily slow to a halt, be it due to finally being full or the buzz of the alcohol in their systems, the siblings quietly listened in on the conversations around them. Hitsu sipped at her second goblet of wine, while Yuki picked at the last of a strange looking fruit that Hitsu had put on his plate sometime when he wasn't looking.

It took a minute or so for poke to respond. She had to piece together the events that had happened, and how she would explain it to them. She was also having trouble remembering the finer details as well, so much had happened...
"I can't remember much of when I was captured, since I was knocked out most of the time" poke responded at last. "But when I did come to, I was in some sort of cell with a glass box and someone watching me. I suppose you can call him the "goldeneyed devil", but he was one creepy guy. First things he told me where that I was gonna be a lab rat and have all sorts of weird things done to me. Then I was left to wait alone untill he would come back. I spent that time trying to figure out what the hell to do."
when someone did come back, It looked like some weird bug man with large sword hands and huge eyes. He tried to get me but I moved past and ran like I never ran before. I was able to doge most of the guards, giving them a few parting gifts, but unfortunately I found the kidnapper guy again. Few more words, but I was taken to that creepy guys office.
"He started asking me questions, about who I was and trying to find out things about everyone. Though I kept things brief, not giving away anything that was incriminating. Then I found out a few more things about the b*****d...." At this she slammed the fist into the table forgetting she was supposed to be polite.
"For starters, the guy was involved in starting the whole war with the animals and humans, and he intends to capture us all and turn us into frigging guinea pig! Like hell I'm gonna let that b*****d touch anyone of you!"
She seemed to calm down then, sitting back in her chair and folding her arms again. "I was kinda angry then, as you could guess, then the guy decided he wanted ot start a fight with me. I lasted a minute but he got me with his stupid gun, so i forced to go back to my cell. Only I didn't. The weird mantis man from before decided to help me escape. He was a amazing person for helping me..."
"So there I was, stuck in the frozen antarctic wondering how the hell I was gonna get back. Turns out the kidnapper was there too, and I managed to get some assistance from the guy, Ironicly. It was a double edged blade though. I was able to get him to help me out, but I also had to make sure he couldn't come close to getting one of you guys."
"After a few run in with some bandits and some weird...dead walking people, the guy did a strange thing; he left me in the middle of no where, just disappeared. By then I had some clue of were I was. What I did then was to grab a horse and try to find you before he did. So I did the only thing I could think of to prevent him from tracking me down; I went through the desert. I figured he would try to track me by the river, so I went the least likey route.
"Not the most smartest of decisions, as if it weren't for Durzo I may have not made it...I'm not that good with dry climates."
She took a deep breath, and took another sip of water. "And thats..basically it"
